Sooooooooooo first and foremost Merry Christmas! Although I like saying it 'happy christmas, harry', in which i laugh and chortle for a moment and people look at me weird since they don't know what's wrong with me. *cough* Moving on~

I just came back from James Cameron's Avatar, and it was indeed QUITE AMAZING. I liked it a lot. I wasn't very enthused to begin with, thanks to so many people recoiling from the sci-fi-ness of it, but I'm really glad that it was that incredible because it proved me right XD I KNEW IT WAS GONNA BE GOOD ARRRRG! hahaha~ I really hate how so many people think of animation as something juvenile, because look at how much time and money go into tools and innovation that is complicated, time-consuming, and costly, JUST to create images that can't be done in reality. People get turned off if a movie is said to be animated. It makes me want to pull my hair out D:< Hopefully something like this film will make some eyes open about the art used to make it as well as its message.

YAY POST-CHRISTMAS BRAGGING TIME! 8D The Art of Tim Burton! I OWN IT!

Any fan of his should get it, too D: Seriously. If you guys get any Christmas cash but not this book, LOOK INTO IT. It's like a glimpse into his brain. His style is kind of comical! You have to see it to believe it

And it has a little bit of biography, and snippets from fellow coworkers and friends...it'll also make you look back at what you think is a typical 'Tim Burton style', because his drawings are really scribbly and not as much with the creepiness. There IS creepiness, but not as polished or stereotypically Burtonized as you may have thought. The creativity is the same though, and it OOZES FROM THE PAGES, I SWEAR. It's an amazing collection, and I highly recommend it for any hardcore Burton fan. MUST-HAVE MUST-HAVE MUST-HAVE!!!

I gotta go watch the classic Sabrina (AUDREY HEPBURN YEEEEAAAHHH) with the family, so in the meantime you guys need to tell me: what's your favorite Christmas present? What didja get? Tell me about it!!!

2.) I've been in orchestra for at least 5 years, and every year I say that I'm going to quit but don't.
3.) I have several weird obsessions. Certain jackets and menswear drive me giddy. And cowlicks. And other things that I can't think of..
4.) I have a diary that I've been writing in since 2005!
5.) I'm kind of unhappy with my drawing style right now. I want to break free of the anime-ness, but what comes out looks like stuff that other people have already done. It's hard, but I'm working on it...
6.) I never wear makeup unless it's a special occasion. It's too confusing and time-consuming, and I'd rather just go out looking 'raw' anyway. :/ But when i DO put on makeup, I'm kind of good at it 8D
7.) I've been told that I get excited over small things. This is most likely very very true.
8.) I've also been told that I use big words [in normal conversation]. Also quite true. (I even think up of words that I don't know what they mean...and when I look them up, 9 times out of 10 it'll turn out I was even using them correctly.)
9.) I love surprises

10.) A lot of times I think to idealistically and stray from reality, but that's part of my motivation. I always BELIEVE that what I imagine can become reality, and therefore I'll make it so.

Well, following up on the past journal entry, GUESS WHAT I GOT SICK WITH A VIRUS RIGHT AFTERWARDS. LOL SUCKERYYYY

Looking into next year (haha change subject), my friends sound like they're ready and rarin' to go to Anime Matsuri. We were thinking of sharing a room, that sort of thing. I was thinking of opening an Artists Table...if I manage to get a few things to mini-mass-produce some PVC figures (that would take some experimenting for sure), or buttons, or keychains. I'd probably get some watercolors of anime characters ready, and some plushies. Commissions, too. Maybe even enlist some of my pals to join in. It would take work, but I think it'd be fun XD

Am I ever excited about my cosplay idea, too 8D

So yeah! 2010 = Anime Matsuri...? We'll see!

Anyhoos, the reason all of that happened is becaaauuuse I saw A Christmas Carol today!! 8D It was really very good!!

1.) I've decided I want to be Zim the next time I cosplay. To the extent that I get giddy inside at the thought of painting myself green. HEEHEEHURRHURR

2.) A few hours ago I thought up of a new book idea in the shower, which brings the count up to 47. I'm such a freakin lazy butt. Thinking and not acting! Gah!!

3.) I'm not really excited about learning how to drive...My mom, dad, and I went to practice for the first time a couple months ago and I swear if there were cars in that parking lot I would have scraped the paint off of every last one's bumpers...Uuuugh. MOTORCYCLE KTHXBAI

4.) I'm trying to break the habit of eating before bed. Thus, right now I am reeeeaaaally hungry.

5.) I wish I didn't fail at comics D: There's quite a few things that I wish I could make into comics, but I'm not good at getting a handle on how to format a page into those panels, or screentones or (if it's funny) even punchlines. Comics are one of the things I'm unhappy with when I make them. They're fun though, so maybe with practice...?

6.) In the Hetalia world, apparently I'm Sealand according to my friends. But I don't think I'm as cute as they say.. .__.'' There was a Sealand cosplayer who looked about 11 or younger and I wanted to hug her so badly; she was ADORABLE D8

7.) Sometimes I have these urges to go all out in that kind of Hot Topic-y style..I dunno. I wouldn't call it goth, I don't really know if it's punk, and I don't know anything about emo styles..but an urge for a lip piercing, coloring my hair stripes of red, buckled boots and a tie and a crazy haircut, pins and chains and craziness strewn all over. I don't think I'll ever truly do any of those things, but sometimes I think 'yeah, that'd be pretty cool...'

Today was the last day of Oni-con, and the shortest time I've spent at one. Just a matter of hours, spending money pretty much. >3> But I really like the stuff I got X3 I spared ten dollars, whew~!

Now my dad and I are pumped up on how to make all sorts of stuff to someday sell at a table of our own 8D Of course, if pictures of mine were to be on pins for example, they'd obviously have to be visually appealing...which means PHOTOSHOP. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!
On that motivating start, I've been looking at lots of tutorials for if and when I start making a move towards digital artsies. *sweats* I can't believe how intimidated I feel when I think about it. At the same time, it's necessary to start getting the hang of it, or else when would I ever learn? I just wish that there was a digital art class in high school. Or such a thing as apprenticeship in this day and age...

First anime convention in a hotel. omg. I won't do that again D8 Convention centers only plzkthxbai. The hallways are cramped like heck, and there's a line from the dealer's room going down the freakin' street. And there's no provided map. Other than that, it's awesome!! 8D''

I recognized even more people than I had the first 2 times I've been to a con. It's so much fun

Since I'm actually a more recognizable character, I got some hug/picture demands! Yay!! But our Death the Kid/Liz/Patty were so amazing that they got the most fans. Uncool (jk, I admit they pwned pretty hard 8D).

Who did I see/meet? Well, I met the artist of Boys Like Orchids, and can't wait to see what it really is XD'' (shounen-ai comic, I hear. Ohhh, goodie!) And there were quite a few professional artists. =hiruda was part of our Soul Eater group! New friend, I hope?

Same with ~cerathe, pretty much.

Notable cosplayers? THERE WAS A MUDKIP. A MUDKIP!! She was amazing; she painted herself blue and white and had a blue bikini and little orange thingies. And then there was Zim and Dib! AND a GIR! They gave me inspiration; I'll tell you about that later. Then there were Hetalia folks (of course), Halo trooper people, lots of lolitas...etc. OH! There were Silent Hill nurses!! They were CREEPY.

I rarely lose something as big as that (you know, like losing a cell phone or 50 dollars, etc), but...look what I went and unknowingly did :/ My room is all clean as a result, but it's still nowhere to be found! It vanished. Luckily I have all of my music in legal downloads (yay me!) and I can still listen to them. Sad thing is...well, I just can't listen to them anywhere else.

I'll save up and see if I can buy a new one if we end up not finding the original. How unfortunate, though!

I've been visual since I was born. I like to look at things. I like describing things that I look at, etc. Well, today when I wore my glasses (which I normally don't do and should, *cough), I felt as though the frames were blocking out the sides of my sight. The sides are thin, but that actual glasses are small, as in the frames aren't big enough so that if I glanced up with only my eyes, then my eyes would be looking out of the frames. If that makes sense. Soooo I felt like I couldn't see enough. It's hard to explain. But i wasn't as aware of my sorroundings and was kind of clumsy walking around because I felt as if I had no peripheral vision. But this has happened without physical blockage, too.

In big places, like airports or malls where there's lots of places and people, I almost always feel this sensation. I feel like I can't look at everything, and it frustrates me. Everything's constantly moving, and there's something I could miss if I can't see. But this stress also KEEPS ME from seeing. So I feel caged in even though I have full range of sight.

Have any of you ever had this feeling? It's so hard to explain correctly XD''

WHOOOAAA there's so much going on and so much that I WANT to do. School is overloooading, but I have so many ideas swimming around. Lately I've been involved with *CountANDRA's project, Grade E. If you see anything with a character named Skizzle in it, that's part of Grade E. Other than that, there's side projects that I've been trying to do...and I'll work on them whenever I can. There's so much to share, but I feel like I don't have enough time! Maybe I'll have a free day on the weekend. Wish me luck~!

As for life, Homecoming is on the rise and people go craaazy for that kind of stuff. I'm skipping the dance this year cuz I'm just not feelin' it. Usually I'm the type that won't pass up a dance no matter what, but there's a few reasons why I'm keeping the dress in the closet. Maybe a picture will be inspired from that? Hahaha~

No matter what, there's some kind of thing in the world around you that could make everything spark! And off we go!

I wanted to say something about commenting. I really love to comment on people's works and journals. There was a news article on How To Critique, and at the end it basically said to quit pumping ego and help out if someone asks for critique. But I'm just not that type of person that does that... :/ I dunno. I like to compliment on people's works, and what parts stand out to me, what it means to me, what pops! It's nice to get an ego pump once in a while! And I try my best not to give a lukewarm comment like 'nice' or 'good work', but really look at something and say 'wow, i really love this because ___'. I try to go deeper into it, and when I leave a comment, I'm hoping that the artist can read it and say 'wow, I had my vision, but I never saw that part of it before!' etc. And if not that, at least something better than 'nice colors', instead 'holy crap, look at the hues of blue! I love how that does ___!'. I try my best to give a really nice comment. If I don't at all, it probably means that I couldn't find the right words to fit how much your work meant to me. But I try my hardest to convey my feelings!
When I read that article, I felt kind of hurt, like 'oh...but I like commenting the way I already do...' but at the same time maybe I SHOULD critique once in a while. It's only helpful, and if I plan to do the same when I get older, it'll be useful to both myself and peers. I'll keep my mind open, then. But that's what I think about it!! (haha, that was long, sorry XD)

!! I feel so ashamed...a few weeks passed, school started, and I have some adventures happening, right? I started a blog thing but that only lasted 3 days, and was pretty bad cuz I'm not very good at that stuff...but I figured comics would be fun 8D Sadly, I have suckery in that department, too. So, my strength and the funnest only other option prevailed!

recently hosted a little Livestream tutorial (followed by some more recordings of sketches and colorings), and even now I'm watching

do a little sketchy-wetchy here: [link] . Each time i watch one, I want to do my own more and more. What do you guys think about that? Would you watch? I'd probably start with an inked sketch (since I always work with pen) and color, unless you'd like to see an idea come to life. In that case, please suggest or request! 8D

It wouldn't be very soon, since the webcam I have now is literally worth like..a nickel. But if/when I get a better one, it's a go!! This is already planning way ahead, but I'd probably do it late on a Saturday, so you guys could pop some popcorn, get the jammies on, and doodle late-night XD Of course I'd talk my head off, cuz I just love to do that

Tell some stories, chat a little, answer a question or two, and draw 8D I'm already looking forward to it

I haven't looked at the entries lately, but don't want to, >_< I'm afraid that someone will think I stole their idea, when all i've seen is more creatures looking like the Cat-Beast, when mine is the opposite. P.S: HAHA, I forgot to tell you about a fun little spazz-out I had today XD I got to see

, and she had a purseful of Prismacolor Markers, and I went ballistic. I made this huge

face and touched them randomly, and then I took a blue one, uncapped it, and said 'MUST ABSORB' and put a little on my hand and rubbed it in XD Blinded by hunger (right before lunch), but also the first time seeing used Prismas in such a quantity 8D It was delicious. This left her and my friends questioning my sanity XD all in good fun.

BUT SERIOUSLY

The wait was a long one. SINCE FEBRUARY. FEBRUARY!!!

But today, I woke up thinking 'the day has finally come 8D' and I donned my 9 T-shirt from Hot Topic and wore it proudly. School took way too long to be considered natural. By last period the clock was practically my second eye, I kept staring at it so much.
AND THEN THE BELL RANG AND I WAS LIKE 'TO THE THEATER!!!!'

And I just got back home, and my fellow deviants, the wait was worth it.

I noticed so many archetypal hints, and then THE DETAIL...I SALIVATED NOT FROM THE POPCORN, BUT FROM THE DETAILS...they were so delicious..and then the characters, the story, the ending!! LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!

I just wish the happy bits would've lasted longer...I didn't get enough of them all X3
3 & 4 ended up being my favorite characters (9 and 7 following up close behind) because THEY'RE SO DANG CUTE. omg. And they kept the past alive!! Aliiiive, I say!!

Tomorrow school starts for me, and obviously I'm not very 'hooplah-la here we go' about it. I'm not wild about it at all :/. I have a fish battalion (group of freshman) all to myself, and that'll make the year go by a lot better than if they were still in middle school

I saw Ponyo yesterday, the latest installment in the great works of the legendary Hayao Miyazaki. INCREDIBLE!! Every background looked like it was made out of crayons or pastels, but with the detail of a masterpiece painting! The animation was perfect and blew me away! The story was unbeatable, and all of that together...well, you can imagine how all that came out

Awww, and everything was SO ADORABLE throughout!! Like little guppies kissing your toes or an armload of kittens glomping you. More than Hello Kitty cute, in my opinion. Leaps and bounds cuter!!

I think one of my favorite characters was Ponyo's dad, of all people XD When you see his face, it kinda ruins the 'whoooa, who's that guy' image that they put on him right before. It's a surprise! But I liked him a lot for some reason XD!! And then of course Ponyo, and Sosuke, and Sosuke's mom Lisa..

And the music, of COURSE when it's by Joe Hisaishi it's gonna be something spectacular. The ocean theme that plays a few times throughout sounds like a glorious Japanese Ride of the Valkyries. Disney kinda killed the cute kid song at the end (if you stick around during the neat credits and around when they get to 'space'...yeah. you can't miss it), but hey, according to Disney if you have Miley's little sister and the JoBros' little brother, you gotta milk all you got. *rolls eyes* Other than thaaaaat~ MUST BUY SOUNDTRACK ASAP!!

I've noticed that I'm fascinated with 3 mental disorders (God I hate calling them that, too...it makes me feel guilty and sad. Like calling a little person a midget) in particular. I want to find out more about all of them, they just interest me to no end. I wish I could find stories with characters like them, too...instead of books that just list symptoms, etc. I'd just like to see how they'd interact and stuff, but in fiction. Here's what they are:
1.) Schizophrenia
-Part of the reason my OCs Teckaj-Tiarts ([link] ) and Retla Oge ([link] ) are my favorites is because they's schizophrenic, but in a very stereotypical way. Teckaj goes by the giggling straightjacket engulfed psycho, and Oge is a tad more textbook, but still very loosely intact to a real schizophrenic person. I want to read more about both sides, real and biased. I found a book and read it, 'I Never Promised You A Rose Garden'([link] ), but didn't like it that much. Something like 'Monsters and Ladybugs' by

fits my fancy a little more. But I've already read it TT_TT And I don't think it's coming back TT____TT...anyhoos. There's such a rarity in fictional books, and it's sad cuz it's my favorite! A weird thing to call it, but true..
2.) Autism
-There's just such a huge spectrum of Autism, I want to know more about all of it! I plan on reading Tim Page's book called Parallel Play ([link] ), and more if I can find any.
3.) Feral Children
-I have a book idea that's kind of about a feral child...but also in a very different way. The real ones give me this strange feeling...like finding out a myth is real. But I want to read about more than just Mowgli or Tarzan. Like Victor of Aveyron or something...

I've been obsessed with old songs recently. And some new ones! Soundtracks, mostly. My friend

got me into The Hunchback of Notre Dame again and so I'm into its songs, and also The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, even Charlie Brown XD When I watched Harry potter 6, I heard this song that played...3 times I think. Maybe dA should start something like that. A little 'underground' dA community act that could help artists in love connect and surprise each other XD There could be numerous little contests and projects and it'd all be hush-hush, and anyone could help if they'd like...lolz, I'd wanna join that organization 8D If I were cool, I'd start it, but I dunno how XD'' Just something to think about, though

I'm starting to realize how many Spanish-speaking people there are on dA and uuurgh, how much I'd like to speak it a little bit better. I only know a very, VERY small amount to speak. I can understand it fine, especially when I'm spoken to. But actually talking in Spanish is really hard.

I guess I'll get better at it as years progress.

Sometimes I worry about money matters D: I really wish I could do commissions for stuff on dA (like my paintings...that'd be fun

I'm not a kid-person, or a pet-person, or an outdoor person. So no baby/pet-sitting or gardening for me. (ugh). However, if I could finally publish a book or open commissions (and have people buy them XD''

then everything seems like it'd be easier! I just need to stop worrying about stuff like that. I'm not in trouble or anything. I just wanna buy more manga, art stuffles, and Hot Topic merchandise

This is the first time I've seen a Harry Potter movie in theaters AND the first time I've been to a midnight premiere. Every hour of waiting was so worth it 8D I have [almost] nothing but raves for the 6th installment for the Potter movie franchise X3 Off we go!

In the general movie sense, I thought that it had a great mix of humor (definitely the most times I've laughed in an HP movie), romance (LOL IT WAS EVERYWHERE), and intense moments. It was dark, indeed, but the light moods in there were great! I enjoyed both sides 8D

SOMETHING I NOTICED: Draco was like, the chosen non-sequiter throughout the whole movie. It was pretty funny 8D Like the first time I noticed, I don't remember the scene, but there were people, blahblahblah, then suddenly just-Draco. Out of nowhere. So I'm sitting there like 'oh. uh. Draco. Hello, there, Draco.' and on goes the movie. And so I forget about it, then again, ladeedaDRACO. 'er. Hello again, Draco!' XD He just pops up at random times XD I didn't mind at all, it was just something I noticed

SPEAKIN' OF DRACO, omggg D: I think this movie gave me some weird fetish for the bad guys. Draco's suddenly really hot. And then teen Voldemort..SAME WITH HIM. WHICH I WANNA SLAP MYSELF FOR CUZ HELLO, HE'S VOLDEMORT. But aaagh. In one scene, Mal-boy's walking up to some wall, and then he does this standing pose, and the light's in front of him so you can see his silhouette (by the way, he wears a suit that looks good on him through almost the whole thing)...that was one part that I liked very very much

And then there was another part (sans suit) where he was in one of the bathrooms and put his arms on the sinks and looked very distressed or something, and I again was very fangirl-y, and finally Draco cries a little, and it was like one of the highlights of the movie for me. EVEN I THINK THAT I'M WEIRD WHEN I SAY/THINK THAT. IT'S STRANGE. But it was the first time I ever really felt pity/sorry for him, and after the movie when I was talking to my friends, we got into this conversation..my friends: but he (Draco)'s a coward/evil! Me: (i wanted to defend him because of my newfound crush or whatever the heck it is lol, and then when i started talking I found out what a deep character he really is, how conflicted, and how much more there was in Draco than what you saw through the movie, on the outside.) He couldn't really help being who he is, cuz he was born into the family that includes his father, who's a wacko...what if he never wanted any of it? He couldn't help it cuz now he's Lucius' son! And you know he doesn't want to do SOME evil things, but now he's in the place that he can't go back, he feels like now he HAS to do really awful things because his life's constantly in jeopardy now...in defense for his life, and because of who he is, he feels like he HAS to be evil, even if he can't or doesn't want to. This is the last speaking-of, I promise: SPEAKING OF the story dealing with a Queen and her butler...I had one of those incredible creative inspiration KABOOMS yesterday night, pulled up a sheet of paper, and filled it with the full story, beginning to end, with characters, plot, twists, climax..the whole shebang. That's the first time I've done that. Actually PLANNED a possible PUBLISH-ABLE idea, with a beginning, middle, and end. So I'm super excited

! I could do this!! The only problem is that I think I need a few MORE characters...I only have 6 characters...I feel like I need some supporting actors, here ._.' I guess I'll read a few books and figure it out XD But yeah. I could seriously get the ball rolling. *squee!

As a last note...DANG, I've changed since I first joined. As in, I'm not half as stupid as I once was XD When I joined, I was using people's pictures without credit, posting screenshots, illegally downloading music...basically being a really stupid idiotic hypocrite. But at the same time, back then I still didn't know what plagiarism was, how bad of a deal art theft was, and how much you have to pay if you get caught (just kidding, just kidding..). But now I lookup credit whenever I remember, I deleted all of the screenshots I took, and the bad downloads are gone and replaced with paid-for mp3s from Napster XD So I'm improving, day by day 8D It's nice being clean!

Where do I happen to find books that I'm interested in? Fiction and Literature. Where there's some maturity.

I just feel so POd right now. I'm 15 tomorrow. Technically I'm still a measly 14-year old. But I'm not stupid! I'm not falling for being part of your stupid target audience! Hear me out, young adult authors: You can write a book without vampires, girly girls, and car accident/kidnappings/'this-person-just-died'-filled plots! Write something original with something OTHER than such depressing subjects that will drive me into more angst than I'm ALREADY IMMERSED IN, thank you very much.

Moving on, though...do any of you have book recommendations? I've been wanting to get into READING again. I used to be the biggest bookworm ever...but now that I'm in that 'target audience', I'm sick of everything and can't find anything I'm interested in. I'm a fan of Nonfiction, Fantasy, and lately Romance (not the BellaxEdward kind. That induces gagging and hives).

What's the best book you've ever read? I read The Neverending Story (Michael Ende) when I was 8, and I vividly remember being extra-super-proud of myself upon discovering it was for 'Ages 10 up'. It's remained my all-time favorite book-book (what my Mom and I call books after discovering manga) ever

My next favorite is called Starburst by Robin Pilcher...that one's an adult book (meaning like..in the adult sections) that I've read either one or two years ago. Also loved it. And for my birthday, one of my friends got me the book version of Howl's Moving Castle...which I've always wanted to read! So I was very happy X3

Book-wise, from my searches so far on Barnes and Noble.com, I want to read Everything Matters!, The Sugar Queen, and Cat's Eye. Regarding manga... Dazzle, Love*Com, Mamotte Shugogetten, Mamotte Lollipop, and V.B Rose.

I ordered Origami Star Paper to fold for decoration/party favors, and I think that's what I'm excited for the most 8D

The only problem with the art plans is that I'm STILL busy (WHY?? WHYYYYY???) with some summer school (to get a credit out of the way) and off-campus P.E (again, for credit). So be wary of the weirdo on the stationary bikes at the YMCA. It may just be me

I'm rolling in nostalgia for my love of

's Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. When the show first came out, I had a crush on Mac X3 And since I don't have Cartoon Network (long and extremely ironic story XD) I rarely got to see it. Now that it's pretty much over...I went visiting CartoonNetwork.com to watch some of

's Flapjack, and got to watching some of my favorites from Foster's. The little crush flutters are coming back to me, haha! It's fun. I'll have to hunt down all of the DVDs and buy them someday...I'd treasure the collection!

I finally have time to do things. Finally. FINALLY!

I only have two more days of school and that's ALL! Summer has arrived~!
And on that subject...it doesn't really feel like it. You know those feelings you get at the turn of the seasons...when you say to yourself, 'oh, it feels like spring..' or like when you know it's Christmastime not just by the calendar...I'm not feeling like it's summer. I keep thinking it's fall! But then I think that maybe it IS summer, and I just don't remember how it feels since it's been such a freakin' long year XD But I digress.

SINCE now I finally have time...I get to do the things I've been dying to do XD Animations ahoy! Plushies galore! And I've been thinking of trying to make my own matrioshka dolls. They're my favorite collectible things, and if I could just make the shapes out of clay...I could paint on all sorts of different designs! I'm attending our school's Orchestra Banquet the week following this week

...I had a big issue about finding a dress, and had absolutely NO luck...but this weekend we were at my grandparents, and lo and behold, we find a Jessica McClintock dress for less than half of what the original price would be that fits on me like a glove and is WAAAYY cute!

I can't wait to boogie in that sweet piece of clothing 8D Maybe I'll draw a pikky of myself in it...that'd be fun XD I need to practice my dancing skillz now...I love to get jiggy with it, so that'll be fine by me 8D!

Top priority = 3rd stop-motion animation. It's come to a complete standstill...with all of the projects being dumped on me on the last 2 weeks of school, there really just isn't any time. I'll see if I can give at least 30 minutes a day into making something happen...whether it's adding an arm, or making a new mouth...I'll do whatever I can to get something rolling. I really wanna get on with it! It's HECKA FUN!!! XD! Anyhoos...I haven't had much inspiration lately, as it comes with normal doodles. :/ Nothing's happening. I don't feel motivated. Maybe I need a new music lineup...hopefully I can get back in the groove...I wish I could get myself to join OC tournaments like Artists At The Ready, but I can't seem to sit down and DO something! Whirled.com (www.whirled.com)had a Video Contest recently, and I wanted to enter with a second stop-motion animation. Thanks to a trip, I couldn't submit what I had in time, but since I had pretty much finished shooting, recording, etc, I decided to fabricate and put it on YouTube anyway.

The person who goes through the Whirled Videos (whirled3rings) spotted my video, and spread it to an admin (Agent Vortex), who showed it to the CEO of Three Rings, the company who made the Whirled website.
I need to do my Famous Faint for this one. *goes to bed, stands, and falls straight down* *comes back* I mean..I'm still in shock!!!
How many people get their things shown to CEOs when they're still 14?! I feel too young, naive, and undeserving TT_TT! And yet really proud and flattered and talented...I feel a need to throw a party or something...
So I'll just say, don't give up doing the things you love. When you have passion for something, don't stop doing it, even if it may seem small. Enjoy every moment, and as a result, you'll go places!

On the same kind of subject...
I don't understand why so many want to be doctors and lawyers and crap, but through the years I've realized that creativity and imagination maintained and cultivated after elementary school is honestly REALLY hard to come by. Exposure to media and truth and lies drowns it all out. It's not like many people still read, anyway. It all seems so rare nowadays. That's part of the reason I'm thankful for places like dA...to meet people that still have some of that creative spirit that we all 'grew out of' after childhood. Is it that easy to let go of? To me it seems I wouldn't be able to get rid of it even if I tried with all my might. Maybe that's why artists can see through so many things and express themselves with ease...there's still some of the same spirit left. But then, it's not like I'm AGAINST things like docs n lawyers, it's just...yehck. Not my thing at ALL XD I wouldn't enlist in those types of services if you paid me a trillion dollars. I'd rather play with clay and save myself some brain-melting, stomach somersaulting episodes. I've never been more thankful in my life..creativity is a blessing. None of you fellow art-lovers forget that!

This trip has me doing all sorts of renovations on myself! I just came back from the ortho (braceface), and tomorrow I'm getting a day of hair cuttage (which I'm VERY excited about), I got a new swimsuit for the summer...it's just one thing after another!

In school we've been reading Great Expectations and I finished it yesterday, so now we just have to write a paper. I say just because WOW that book came with some major work...I'm just really proud to have made it to the end without SparkNotes or anything like that the whole time XD And the reason I'm mentioning it at all is cuz YAY I HAVE TIME TO FINALLY READ SOME MANGAS. I feel so deprived. I'm one of those kids who don't like reading 2 things at the same time...but after you've discovered Japanese comic books and have become addicted...it's so hard TT_TT! I finished the first volume of Nui! already, and am starting on this AMAZING manga called Nosatsu Junkie...I love it to bits!

It's a really crazy idea for a story...just my type 8D! It's like lollipops for my eyeballs. Every single panel!

In other news, OMG Unknown-person flashes make a comeback! 8D *so happy* And Endling is revealing page by page of Endzone finale goodness! *thrilled* Thanks to both, I sketched up a Red (riding hood) that I've been dying to scan...but our scanner got jacked up :/ I worked for 2 hours with my mom trying to fix it to no avail, and when my dad got a hold of it, he finalized the breakage *facepalm*. Luckily, we have one more that's the exact same, just an older model that my dad was using for his office. So I'm busy polishing the picture as I type

The Whirled Video Contest's end is drawing nigh, but I'm done shooting clay and now I'll be fabricating what I have together for an entry. I'll give you guys the link to it on YouTube when I'm finished! (You can hear me singing XD)
And on the note of Stop Motion Animations, my orchestra has also notified us that we might be having a talent show...and I was thinking I could make a stop motion animation synced with me playing my little Irish Tin Flute! Part of the reason I wanna do one is cuz I haven't really been able to do small things...I have projects like the Whirled.com contest, Adidas contest (not sure if I'll ever get to it, but I'll try), and the 9 plushie on my hands. As awesome as those are, and as much as I wanna get to working on them, I like handling them on the weekends when I have a whole day to devote time. On a school day, I'd rather draw and do smaller things, but lately I can't think of anything ._.' ...so I figure it'd be cool to do some art trades, since those could fit in perfectly! And it'd be neat getting to know some characters. That's always fun. X3

As far as any art updates go, I mentioned my bigger plans...but the latest thing happening is this: I'm a little upset with my Oblivion Kid Rehctelf ([link]). The main reason is I realized that his design and half of his personality are 99.9% ripped off from Fletcher on Fullmetal Alchemist (and in the first AND second pik of him, I fully admit that. BAAAD). That's how I got his name in the first place anyway. Art theft is a huuuuge issue on dA, and everybody supports encouraging originality with dA's artists. That and the Rehctelf thing have been in my brain for a while and I've been trying to decide if I should completely revamp him or forget about it, or what.
I went with the happy middle 8D
His actual self and personality have changed SO MUCH even without me drawing him 24/7, because he's part of one of my stories. Much has still stayed the same. One thing's for sure: he is NOT supposed to look like such a kid! That could be a chibi style...but that's not really how I intend for him to look anymore. His appearance is going to go under some big and little tweaks. And, as mentioned, some will stay the same. But I'm going for revamped, more original Rehctelf...and I'm even wondering if I should change his name...whatever happens, he's not going to be the old one. Expect Rehctelf II very soon!
ANYHOOS. Other than some other OCs possibly going under jurisdiction...there really isn't much other news.

This movie looks so cuuuute XD I love the trailer music

Where the Wild Things Are isn't exactly my most beloved children's book ever, but nobody can forget it =3 And the little kid's costume...I want it XD

That's pretty much all I have to say about THAT, but I just thought I'd share

I live near a railroad and a city. We were driving home, and there was a train coming through the railroad, and I hafta say, there were some really artistic gang signs on them. Those people really know how to use their grafitti. I wish I could've taken pictures..some were really neat-looking! And then later in the day we were driving somewhere else, and I know which highways around where I live that if you look far enough a certain way, you can see the silhouette of the city skyscrapers. It's always really beautiful. And this time it was pretty late, so you could see them all lit up, like shadows with clusters of stars on them. That also reminds me when it's early in the morning and I listen to Best Chances Are Gone by Aberdeen City...the sun rising and the world waking up...with that music, it's absolutely amazing. I highly recommend doing these things someday; it's really inspiring

Speaking of inspiration... who's up for some creepy music? I've compiled a few that could really lead to some spooky images...and I figure it'd be cool to make a list for anyone who might be interested. (It helps being in orchestra; sometimes you find some really awesome pieces...I doubt many can beat strings when it comes to something spine-chilling

Art-related news...pretty much everyone is having some kind of crunch time :/ And I am, too...school has decided to dump its wrath on our high school's shoulders, and I really can't do anything I want at the moment. Even now I'm procrastinating from taking notes...(but can you blame me? haha). The 9 plushie hasn't been started yet, and I wanted to make a stop-motion animation for the contest at Whirled.com, but I just can't do it right now. Which I'm sad about, cuz I REALLY REALLY want to! (Luckily the Whirled contest's deadline is April 26th..I'll have pretty much a whole month to do it.) As of now, I'm doodling in any spare time since I don't have enough time to start anything major. Hopefully a holiday or something will come soon...then I can do the stuff I'm excited about doing!

Since he's done, I can finally move on to other endeavors...first of all, the 9 plushie! ([link]) After I finish him, I'll need help on what other plushies to make. They're lots of fun X3! If anyone has ideas, please tell me.
I wanted to make a Karl figure after the completion of the Climber plushie (Karl is another character of *Unknown-person), but some people have already made a few. Possibly after the appearance of the Climber figure that Unknown shared in a journal a long time ago. Nonetheless, I would still like to make one...I have a pose in mind, etc. Maybe after 9, I'll work on it

Finally, I wanna make another stop-motion animation, but don't know what of. I was thinking 1.) sequel to my first one, 2.) something Oblivion Kid-related, or 3.) another scene from one of my stories. The story ones would have to be short since I don't wanna give away any spoilers/plot. Part because I hate spoiling things and once I get them published, you'll see

and part cuz I wanna keep my ideas safe from stealers. It's just the normal artistly thing to do, ya know? (And rest assured that I wouldn't wanna steal any...I have enough (29) as it is. haha!)
Hrm. What to do, what to do...I had an idea for another Oblivion Kid character, but I think he'll just be a doodled up person. He doesn't exactly fit in, I dunno...

Well, today I picked up my Knifty Knitter and started to [finally] finish my long-procrastinated Climber plushie! The only problem is, I've completely forgotten how to make a plushie since I haven't done anything related to spool-knitting in so long. I had leftover sewn bits from when I started (I've only done his head) and it was like putting all of the puzzle pieces together. I have 5 loom thingies and I was trying to figure out which size was the right one for Climber's body and limbs...I had to ask my mom what she thought and use my Dib plushie for reference until I made a decision. Hopefully I'll get the other issues out of the way...but we'll cross that bridge when we get there

Also plushie-related, I got new yarn today to make a 9 plushie! (9 as in the character in the film that's coming out in 9/9/09...that's called 9.) I can't wait to start him 8D He'll be fun to make.
Basically, look forward to some plushies! I'm working on them on my Spring Break

In other art-related news, I've temporarily lost the ability to draw :/ Usually doodles come out good in SOME way, with new ideas or early sketches of a drawing, but lately...nothing at all. In fact, everything's pretty bad

So if anyone wants to request something or offer suggestions, it would be extremely appreciated

That's probably part of the problem; I have no clue what to do in the first place.

I've been DYING to watch movies lately! I wish something really GOOD would come out! I wanted to watch Watchmen, but I'm pretty edgy when it comes to R-rated movies. They're pretty much a no-can-do in my book. I'm happy it got lots of money XD! Then there's Coraline, which I can't wait until it comes on DVD cuz I'll buy it in an instant, and lastly there's Yes Man that I just get ants in my pants thinking about how much I want to own that movie. I'm practically counting down the days! But as far as the box office goes, there's nothing of interest to me until the summer (Up) and late fall (9). Suddenly this reminds me of CalArts and my little stop-motion short that I made. I can't wait until I'm old enough to make my OWN movies!! Won't that be a blast 8D!

Finally, I'm getting married to Edward Elric! One of my best friends whose mom dated Vic Mignogna said that we traded Victor from Corpse Bride and Edward, and she's been married to Ed since I met her! At the time I didn't want anything to get icky (because it was also the first time seeing her and I wanted us to be friends), so we made a deal: she'd be his wife, but I'D be his girlfriend. So basically Ed was a player and we were sharing him XD. And it's worked ever since! But now apparently she says he's all mine now...so I'm celebrating. When my drawing ability returns, I'll doodle up a pikky of us at our wedding XD Sorry, fangirls! But apparently Ed's engaged 8D

Okay, fellow deviantartists, watchers, friends, and the like.
I recently returned home from watching the movie Coraline, latest stop-motion animation film out in theaters...
In my opinion, it is worth every penny that you spend to see it.
That film was absolutely incredible.
It was possibly more a piece of art than it was a movie!
I was in awe, I was grinning the entire hour and 40 minutes, and you know why?
...I don't even know why.
I don't even know why!!!
It's indescribable how amazing it was!
The music, oh God the music...you know the themes of Jaws and Psycho, the classics...Coraline had these shrilling, whistling violins, the perfect horror-type music to fit in with the plot. Even from the very beginning, the music casts you under some kind of spooky spell and it's just so original and odd and spine-tingling...

And then-and then!-the movie itself, everything, everything, everything is soooo detailed, and so real, and so imaginative, creative, ARTISTIC!!! Delicate, detailed stop-motion animation that make your eyes hunger for more.

See it in 3-D, you guys! It's not so much everything pops out at you, but it sucks you in, makes you believe. By the end of the movie, you're left with this feeling of awe of how everything was handmade and not only that, but the movements, the actions, the little bits and pieces and then the entirety wrapped together...as if you've woken from a fantastic nightmare (and I mean nightmare in a good way! Nightmare before Christmas type of nightmare!).

I'm not even going to talk about the story. That's for you guys to see

Go see it. Go see it with everyone you know, go tell other people to see it, and buy the DVD when it comes out. IT'S WORTH IT! For anyone who appreciates art...I have a big feeling that this is a movie for you. And for anyone who finds creepy things absolutely edible, this will fancy your sweet tooth

That's all I really had to say ._. I just had to tell you guys about Coraline.
Uhm...the contest journal is still being updated with incoming entries. The above link has it all! After a few days I'll post it back as my front page. Other than that...I just have a warning: My subscription is running out again so my cool scroll-able things'll be gone, the neat-o background'll go poof, but more importantly the thumbs displaying entries for the contest will be gone. sad!

I'll post links of them instead, when the time comes. Just heads up...I think I have a week or less left.

As for incoming arts, Coraline has me PUMPED. I plan to do some clay figures (in an attempt to make a n00b stop-motion film of my own, HAH what a laugh, but since I'll try, I'll post piks of the figures I make

), some drawings of a new character, and other things...possibly a watercolor coming up, and finally, I'll try picking up where I left off for my Climber plushie. I promised a tutorial for my plushies, but I hate to say that it can't happen for now

. Reason for that is: since our family computer's crashing and getting a new camera, the pictures I had taken so far have been lost. If I ever do another plushie (highly probable, not to worry XD), I'll try it again. As for Climber...his creation will remain a secret!
