I don't know about you guys but I get a lot of questions asking me "where did you take that photo?" and sometimes I wish there was an easier way to find and share new places to shoot. I've been messing with this idea for a while and now I have a feasible way to do this.

Using google maps I've made a custom map I'm going to be updating with little placemarks of where I've taken photos, I'm then going to give a brief description of the area as well as include a picture that I've taken there to give people an idea of what to expect. Now the great thing about all of this is I've enabled the map to be editable by anybody who has a google account (gmail, picasa etc.) so it won't be just me but anyone can share new locations!

here is a link to the map, I'll be updating it soon with more spots but in the meantime feel free to add your own spots! Let me know if you need any help with how to do something!

[link]

As many of you may have noticed the transportation gallery is a cluttered mess, I have submitted a request to the deviantart suggestions forum to split the category into sub sections to make it easier to navigate.

I've asked them to add categories such as:
Automotive
Train/Railway
Aircraft
Watercraft/Nautical
Bicycles/Motorcycles

Please help this become a reality by showing your support and giving suggestions in the thread I've posted here: [link]

Thanks in advance,
-Cosmin

So owning a Canon 30D I get a whole ton of comments from people with point and shoots, especially with the 70-200 + hood (chicks love it ) The conversation usually goes like this:

Them: oooh thats a nice camera, can I see it?

Me: Sure

Them: how do i turn it on?

Me: It is on, its a DSLR you dont use the screen.

Them: oh

*they pause to fiddle around with it for a sec*

Them: dang how much did you pay for it?

Me: about 1,400 for the camera and kit lens

Them: oh man here take it back I dont want to break it

That about sums up 90% of my camera conversations lol
