Back from Roskilde. WHICH WAS EXCELLENT. The festival and getting home.

Sigur Ros blew my mind. Opeth was kind of disappointing. Too short a concert. Mikael Åkerfeldt's a funny guy though. But Sigur Ros was very moving. Intense and beautiful. Loved it.

Tool was, as expected, beyond anything I've seen or experienced ever. You can't even begin to imagine what it was like, unless you've been to a Tool concert. Maynard was on fire, and Danny was unbelievable. It was -so- tight. The setlist was as follows:

Stinkfist
The Pot
Forty Six & 2
Jambi
Schism
Rosetta Stoned
Sober
Opiate
Lateralus
Vicarious
Ænema

Incredible music, visuals and sound.

(good news? "See you in November!"- MJK)

GOT HOME. TURN ON LAPTOP. INTERNAL HARDDRIVE ERROR. Fuck.

My harddrive is broke. Now I need to get it fixed. And to do that I need money I don't have. Pictures, music, shit. It's all out of reach. But hopefully not gone. To retrieve it might be pricey though.

I QUIT COMPUTERS.

So, my digital self will only exist when I use my Father's COMPUTER.

I also can't find my cellphone charger. It's all going to hell.

If you wish to communicate with me, I suggest you take up writing letters.

Bob asked me if I came tonight. And I said "No, Bob. Fuck off."
- Åkerfeldt, on Bob Dylan playing later that day.

But.

To celebrate my getting an internet connection in my room, I will write a journal!

Did I hear w00t's in the distance?

I think so!

Submitted a small truckload of pictures the last few days. I appreciate you all taking a peek.
My current assignment these days: Make an artfilm. Pretty general, you say? Well, it is. Tried filming today. Got a few scenes shot but it was pretty hard. I guess that's what I get for trying to work with people!

..DA should have films too. Should be a limit, of course. But you know.. shortfilms and artsyfilms.
There's a lot interesting stuff out there. It would fit with DA's idea of presenting very varied artforms, I think.

But I imagine bandwith-wise and storage-wise, it'd be problematic.

Oh well. It's a thought.

Alright. I'm done with high school.

Cool.

Been staying up till' 4 each night now. It's good. Just playing videogames and watching movies.

The Godfather part 1 last night. Gonna pick up the other 2 movies soon.
It's really awesome.

I started playing FF7 again. Hell yeah! The best game.
But, seeing as I got some m4d cash for my birthday, I'd like to pick up a new game to have fun with. PS2. preferably RPG. Have you peeps got any suggestions?

Also, if someone's got some experience and knowledge about laptops, I'd like som suggestions on which to buy! not too expensive, though. but the necessities.

What's good with summer and vacation is that I can just get up and do whatever. Like earlier today. "Now I'm gonna go outside and take some pictures. Ain't gonna think about anything else." It's so great.

I ordered the Donnie Darko Soundtrack the other day. Expecting it to be delivered tomorrow. It's really relaxing. I don't care much for the Mad World song, but the others are really soothing. It's the 2cd edition. So i've got the 80's songs too. wicked.

so, what am I doing now? Done with high school and all.
Starting 21th of august or something like that, I will attend Fana Folkehøgskule. I don't know in which countries they got these type of schools, so I'll copypaste some infoz:
-------------------------

Folk High School, What Is It?
In English, the name “folk high school” often gives a misleading impression. “Residential adult college”, “residential enrichment academy”, “experiential academy” or even “folk school” would be more apt modern descriptions.

The folk high schools build on a holistic view of the students and challenge them to grow individually, socially and academically. Learning-by-doing is the basic educational philosophy of the schools. Their core methods are dialogue-based and experiential. The schools strive for challenging classes and courses, but the educational challenges are embedded in the your personal and social growth, too. This focus on the whole person is the strength and unique character of the folk high schools, where the point is to motivate, teach, inspire and foster commitment in you, the student. The schools give you the freedom to learn in your own way.

The folk high schools do not grant degrees or conduct exams. Today’s folk high schools offer a variety of non-traditional and non-academic subjects, as well as some academic subjects.

The folk high school year offers a host of opportunities for the students to grow in self-knowledge and to develop their own talents. Through the school’s many fields for learning, not only in the classroom and through the subject-matter, teachers will seek to inspire and challenge you.

One important arena for learning is the school’s social life, including the dormitory. Living with other people provides opportunities for training in working together and communication; creating a well-functioning community requires the ability to solve problems, and many of the activities will focus on life at the school and your fellow students. In addition, through for instance solidarity projects and a focus on your role as an active citizen, the schools try to expand your social perspective to incorporate outlooks from the rest of the world. In the interaction between different people, different opinions, and different values, your own opinions and values are confronted, making you more aware of the choices that you yourself make.

So there you have it. I will take a Photo/Media course. That'll be sweet.

So, naturally, I need a laptop to stay in touch!

Fana, by the way, is located near the city Bergen.
[link]

I started watching the anime Bleach yesterday. It's kinda cool.

[EDIT]
forgot the song of the j0urnal..here it is:
Faithless - Giving Myself Away

Anyway. It's summer. What will YOU be doing?

summer.

What will I be doing? nothing? right. I'll be looking into buying a laptop.
But thats about it. I would like to go somewhere, but not sure who'd come with me and where!

Suggestions?

Played a lot of video games this weekend. it was good!
I also got the Mr. Bungle album I ordered on friday. California. So naturally I've been listening to that a lot. It's awesome. Pink Cigarette is very sweet.

But also I've been loving Björk also lately. I bought 3 albums of hers this month.
So, now my collection consists of: Debut, Debut Live, Post and Homogenic.
Debut is really great. She's wonderful.

Mr. Bungle and Björk. To my delight I found out that Mike Patton, vocalist in Mr. Bungle and Faith No More, and also my favorite vocalist of all time, sings on Björks album Medulla. I will check that one out as soon as I can.

I'm reading a lot of Roald Dahl books. It's so fun. Very easy and fun.
It has been a while since I've read stuff like that.

I've been dreaming a lot lately. Can't say I really like it.
They're kind of bizarre and depressing.
Except one where Bill Hicks was in it. That was reeeeally cool.
I could also walk on water in that dream. I really wanna learn to interpret dreams.

That'd be neat.

oh, there's this end-of-high-school ceremony thing soon. I really dont wanna go. I gotta get dressed up. I'm starting to dislike a lot of people. Thank Buddha it's over soon. What's worse is this ceremony is on birthday, of all days. Now I reeeeally dont wanna go. Sounds silly. I know. But I seem to have developed a kind of anxiety towards that sort of stuff. Especially when there's not really a lot of good friends there.

crap. my parents can go, I'll stay home and play video games.

seriously.

oh, by the way.. we were on this field trip last...wednesday. We went to a mosque(spellingzyo?) and then we visited a bookstore/meditation place for buddhists. It was really interesting. A lot of what that buddhist told us really appealed to me. I will definitely be looking more into it.

Not a lot of people in my class showed up for this field trip. I feel sorry for them. They really missed out on something. I think it's really lame to take a day off and do nothing when you have the opportunity to go with your class on a field trip and perhaps learn something. You have some many days left of your life to take a day off and do nothing.

But I don't care. I think those who showed up appreciated it.

I know I am a lazy commenter. And I'm really sorry.. But I try to say something meaningful instead of just "nice photo/drawing/whatever." and when I have so many deviations to check out....I have a tendency to give up. I think I should perhaps not watch so many people.

Anyways. thanks for your support and stuff. I really do appreciate it.

(hey Mike! been too long since we've talked! Summer's coming up now and timezones won't be a problem then! eh eh? )

Åsmund's recommended song of the journal: Björk - Play Dead
I fell in love with this song when I was out skating once. It was kinda windy and the mood was perfect. Make sure you listen to this tune some time.

later!
