In other news my partner for the propaganda assignment put together a really cool pamphlet so we will have a lot of stuff to show. We're kind of doing things that would be produced by an organization like PETA, but concerning mythical and fictional animals. I have some posters for it I might throw up here. I have TERRIBLE typography skills so I kinda butchered them with that. Ugh.

I should keep my whining off the internet. Sorry. XD

The moth I found a few weeks ago is still alive and looking really pathetic. Most of it's iridescent blue powder has rubbed off it's body and it's still trying to fly away on it's one wing. It's is adorable and stupid.

Well I have a week longer to work on one of my projects than I had thought I did. Unfortunately the group project I was working on where half of my group seems to not want to answer my emails is still due December 2. At this point I'm just going to finish what I was doing and chances are she'll come into class with another, vaguely related project and we can bullshit something on the spot. Also I have a test tomorrow I should be studying for, and a thesis proposal to write.

Bah. I'm gonna go print things.

I surprisingly still have my moth. I never found an oleander plant to set her free on so she's hanging out in her little jar still. I feel a little lame as I didn't really dress up and haven't done a proper Halloween costume in years. Oh well, next year I'll have to go all out.

Ean and I ended up going to a Halloween party at the local comic shop, it was a pretty good party. Played a game called Werewolf, that was pretty fun, it's all about mob mentality and bluffing. XD

Also made some sangria which turned out pretty well.

has been doing these awesome PC a day sketches. You can pretty much just drop him a note or a request in his journal of a character of yours you would like drawn. The idea is that most of the characters that he draws are characters that people play in tabletop rpgs like D&D and White Wolf but they don't necessarily have to be. I'm pretty sure he's running low on characters by now.

On an unrelated note the movie 9 completely blew. Beautiful effects and monsters, nonexistant story, I was disappointed. There's one bedroom and a living room and this thing that I believe is supposed to function as a kitchen. Neither of us was too keen on sharing a bedroom so I've taken over the living room and plan to set up a few curtains for privacy. The walls are cinder blocks and faux wood paneling, both of which have been painted over with lumpy, white non-stick paint that makes it difficult to put up posters to hide the hideousness. There is no laundry room in that housing complex. Also we have no wireless internet which is one of the things the school promises for on campus housing. [EDIT] DISREGARD THAT! THE INTERNETS DO EXIST IN THE FAMILY HOUSING COMPLEX. APPARENTLY THEY JUST WEREN'T SHOWN AS HAVING WIFI ON THE ONLINE MAP. YAY! The walls are still horrendously ugly. But we have a nice couch and a low coffee table that will be great for running D&D type games on.

The guy in charge of housing this year is an ass. :[ He took away the priority that senior students have been getting for housing so Nicole and I aren't the only one's that got shafted. He also turned the already stressful room-assignment process into a giant fucking ordeal. Last year we were all gathered into a hall and held there for three hours because he decided he wanted to run room-assignment like a game show, then those of us that didn't get the housing we were going had to come back the next day for a few more hours to deal with that crap AGAIN.

Sorry that I'm spamming journals so much.

Apparently there's a game that's out called Swashbucklers of the Seven Skies, a table top rpg about sky pirates with magic. Well, okay so maybe the idea wasn't really that original but it was cool and I hadn't been aware of this other sky-pirate game until a day or two ago. Upon further research it looks like it's world is significantly different from the one Ean and I are working on. Ours has a bit more science and pseudo-science and a bit less 'every thing ever is magic'. Also it's in a different system. But still... goddamnit! XD

On a related note I found out there's a series of books with a magical assassin main character named Ky. I have a magical assassin character named Kai. I'm feeling really special right now. Well, at least I can be sure of the fact that my Kai is a fair deal stupider, I mean, if you have magic that's linked to death and decay, running away from the assassin-deathmage temple to be a doctor probably isn't the best idea. That is one run on sentence.

I played an assassin acolyte with a type of natural sorcery that caused necrosis. He spent most of his life in a monastery/academy thing so he was very hurp-durp. He did not understand vague threats "Yeah, it is a bit crowded in here I think I will step outside :]".

and I have been working on this sort of steampunk/scifi setting for about a year. The main system it's going to be run in is a derivative of this indie system called FATE, in which your character's personality comes into the actual mechanics of the game a lot. It's kind of a hard system to explain.

For those of you out there that do play tabletop rpgs, I want to know if you think it would help encourage people to use the setting if we make a version that uses a more known rules system like 4th edition D&D.

Also I've been sending out my portfolio to all the RPG companies I can think of. I actually got a critique back from Wizards of the Coast, which was pretty cool! Apparently I need to work on unifying my style a bit more and they liked the pieces I had that relied more heavily on line work. Time to do some new arts and resubmit to them I think. 8D

Things are pretty much just going to be sent as fullsized jpgs since i work primarily digitally and I can't really get to the post office to send things. I think I've priced things fairly reasonably.

Most of the examples ended up being pretty dragon-heavy. I can draw people I swear, these are just the most recent examples of what I can do.

(I also like trades but I do not get them done quickly.)

Actually I'm offering commissions all the time but at least I have some better examples of work now.

These would be between $20-$30 depending on how complex the character is and how detailed you would like the background to be. For multiple characters it would cost a bit more per character but not too much. Just note me if your interested.

If any of you are in the possession of the game Killing Floor, I play occasionally. My Steam account name should be AazureDragon. Actually I use that name for most of my accounts online, with the possibly addition of a hyphen.

Also I've been thinking, I like opensource material,but I'm not a programmer, so how would you guys feel about some open source character design? Dragons are popular and I used to draw them constantly, I'm not terrible at them at any rate. I'm thinking I'll draw up some dragon designs that are as unique as I can make them and just let people change them up and/or use them for whatever. I might have had a little too much wine to determine if this is a good idea or not, but I like designing creatures a little more than I like using them. I would like to hear your opinions on this matter.

Okay so I blame Ean for this; Ean and a guy named John from the comic shop.

Ean's been building an army of Plague Marines and I helped him paint a few and decided it was fun but I didn't have the money to build my own army. Then John, who had decided he didn't like the space version of warhammer sold me a bunch of Tyranids for really cheap. So now I have about half an army, and want to finish it.

For kicks... if anyone wants me to paint up warhammer figures for commission I will. I accept tyranids as a form of payment... or just money works too. XD

I had some problems with my eye about a week back but they're clearing up now. It was something called a chalazion, that sounds like it should be some kind of wild onion but is infact a blocked oil gland in the eyelid. Mine was infected apparently but I got some antibiotics for it.

Commissions are coming along... slowly... but they're coming.
Sleepdep's is almost done, it needs maybe another hour or two of painting.
Meiiikeee's is all inked and just in need of scanning and coloring on it shouldn't take too long. I should do that tomorrow.

When these are done I should be ready to take some more commissions. Probably smaller, cheaper ones because of school work and such.

Also I need to stop buying sweaters, no matter how cool or cheap they happen to be.

Commission prices vary depending on what you want. They're generally not that expensive though.

Not having done commissions before I'm going to start out with pretty low prices until I can figure out what I'm doing. I'll start with maybe five slots and see how that goes.

Basic colored character drawings will $15-$20 depending on complexity for now, maybe a little more with a background added in. And probably like $10-$15 for portraits.
