1. Draw a fairly medium size head lightly with a pencil for his head
2. Underneath the head, draw an oval for his torso.
3. Now we can begin adding detail!
4. Start with the head, add the spikes at the head, they are like a saw blade
5. Then draw two upside down v`s on the head for the inside ears
6. With the ears, add two bigger v` on top to complete the ears
7. For the eyes, (and part of the muzzle) draw a butterfly shape
8. With the butterfly shape, join it to the head, make sure the butterfly shape is inside the head first!
9. Move onto the body, join up the head and body by adding a rim outside the oval torso
10. For the arms, draw them like bread sticks, refe to a sonic picture for help on this
11. For the hands, make the gloves like doughnuts wrapped around the arms and draw the hands like a human hand.
12. Now, its time for the legs, draw the legs coming out of the body like sticks.
13. Add detail to the sticks to make them look like his legs
14. Do the same doughnuts wrapped round his ankles for the socks
15. Draw some triangles for shoes
16. Add detail to the shoes. e.g buckle
17. Add detail to rest of the drawing
18. Erase extra lines
19. Go over lines in a black pen
20. Add colour!

I also drew Sonic using this tutorial.

I go upstairs and I go to my Google page to check my updates. I happen to see my horoscope. It says "You must have a solid platform from which to express your creative ideas. Take advantage of your impulsive need to stretch your imagination." I thought that was kind of odd, because I haven't been on top of my art for a long time and it seemed like a weird coincidence.

So, I go to get my sketchbook to start drawing. I go to grab it and there is an extra sketchbook there. It's a brand new sketchbook. No tags on it. No stickers. Completely blank. It's the exact same kind as my 2nd sketchbook (the good one). The same kind of cover. The same kind of pages. I asked Nick, and he knows nothing about it. I asked Beth, and she knows nothing about it either.

So, this sketchbook just mysteriously appeared the day I had an art epiphany. I started drawing, and nothing super great came out, but I got the same kind of feeling I used to have a long time ago. Like.. a FEELING toward my art, instead of "whee pretty colors, all done, bye!" Well, whatever it was, it was good and I'm glad it's here. :D

IMO some of the honorable mentions that were there, are really really bad. All the winners were deserving. And I don't want to sound full of myself or anything, but seriously, I think that designs worse than mine got honorable mentions.

And yeah, what's up with that anyway? All the artists are always are like "Oh I hate myself, I suck really bad at art, etc...." If they really thought that they weren't any good, they wouldn't post their art on the internet. I don't do that. I have tons of art that I think is too embarressing to post on here to compare with the others' work. I know I'm not an amazing artist, but I think I'm pretty good. Definitely not as good as some of the amazing artists out there, but definitely better than alot of people.

Also, I have noticed alot of the good artists always recieve pages upon pages of comments on their work. And it goes ignored. Might as well not even bother commenting. But the second they get a bad comment, they respond all defensive and angry that somebody doesn't like their work. How about aknowledging the people that love your art, that would give their left hand to have the talent you do? :(

So I finished my first commission for Gaia. And I was thinking... I used to illustrate songs alot. Maybe one of these days, I'll pick an album, and illustrate every song on it. I have never done a series like that before. What album though? I'm thinkin' The Spill Canvas. I definitely want to illustrate "Self-Conclusion", but the rest of the songs on that CD don't really have that feeling. Why couldn't it be on "Sunsets & Car Crashes"?! >_< I guess that's all for later though.
