It was a bug in their "country restrictions" section. Whenever I went to delete "USA" from being the "only country who could see my page" it would automatically put it back up there whenever I saved, making it impossible for me to make it so international users could view my page. They got back to me saying they fixed the bug, so now I was able to make it open to all countries!

Yeah so I finished playing Legend of Dragoon and was greatly disappointed in the end that Shana didn't die. I wanted to kill her so badly.. its so sad that she lived. What a horrid character! I don't think I've ever played a video game that had a more annoying character than her! Now I can't stand moe characters as it is, so the moment I met her she got under my skin, but the constant "OMG SHANA SHANA SHANA!! WE MUST SAVE SHANA!" business was just too over the top. Dart was also an incredibly stupid character. So the first 2 discs of the game all the other characters are annoyingly trying to pair Dart with Shana, and Dart continuously maintains that they are crazy and that he looks at her as a little sister. Then suddenly for NO REASON AT ALL, when Shana tells Dart she loves him he decides to make-out with her and instantly they're in love and he DOESN'T look at her as a little sister.

I wanted to vomit. I really did. And from then on I hated Dart too because of his stupid one-track-mindedness. Everything became about Shana and nothing else. Perhaps I might think it was cute if Shana wasn't such a nauseatingly whiny, jealous, attention whoring little 2 dimensional damsel in distress. At the end of the game when they're testing Dart's courage you get two choices when they're trying to make him attack Shana's image.

So what do you do Dart? Shana is the embodiment of the God of Destruction and she is going to kill everyone in the world and destroy it!

Here are your options! (OMFG...)

1. I WILL SAVE SHANA NO MATTER WHAT!!!
2. What do I do...?

REALLY??? OMG.. Why wasn't I given an option "I'll stab Shana and kill her face off because then I will be saving millions of lives!" So I chose the "What do I do?" option first. Yanno what they said? I HAD NO COURAGE!!! GAH!!! So then I redid it and chose the idiotic "I WILL SAVE SHANA NO MATTER WHAT!!" and they told me then I had courage because I believed love conquered all.

yack! bleh! puke! Thats not courage! that's idiocy and selfishness! Millions of lives are at stake but Dart is willing to forsake them for the sake of poon tang.

But other than Dart and Shana being horrible and annoying, Rose was awesome, Meru grew on me, and the rest of them were pretty awesome and cute so I really enjoyed the game.

Not only that, but its jam packed with other character relationships, as well as heartbreak, sacrifice, and romance. Its going to be an epic project, since it is an epic story... so be patient with me

So since 2004 I've been doing mostly art of Legend of Zelda based on a role play my friends and I participated in known as Legends of Hyrule. We were too lazy to actually give the RP a name so it just sort of sat there like that. Over the years I have had countless notes, emails, and comments asking where it is possible to read this RP, or if there is a fic of it.

This is a behemoth of a fan fiction for me to write, and quite a challenging project if I do say so myself. I'm definitely no Hemingway, so to undertake a task such as this will be interesting indeed. I hope that everyone enjoys it though, since I'm really enjoying finally writing it.

There are so many talented artists out there, and I would love to feature your renditions of how you see the story and characters. OMG this Germany is so cool. I love their food and how sweet and happy everyone is. Not to mention the men are supremely handsome. I was SHOCKED! Lillyxandra and I were giggling like school girls and even Ginny was agreeing with us at the men even in the airport were super good looking !!

Yesterday we went to a castle called Kaiserswerth and it was so neat. Joellen and Kyle did Elsch's photoshoot at the castle and it looked amazing. Lilly is seriously the most awesome fairy costume designer ever. I just love her work and I enjoy so much helping out with the shoots and helping the models get ready. Elsch is even more beautiful in person and she looked amazing. After her shoot was over we went to shoot me at the castle in my Maria Renard costume. The shots came out great, but there is ONE particular shot that is seriously money. It really makes it look like a true castlevania side scroller! HEE! Lilly and I were fangirling like crazyfaces the whole time after seeing the pic. I cannot WAIT to show it to you guys! *_____*

I have my laptop now so I'm gonna upload some photos pretty soon. My camera died unfortunately so I didn't get any photos from the event today, but Lilly got some so I'm just gonna steal hers. OMG guys it was so great.

Those of you I met today at the event were so nice. I had so much fun and I was really impressed at how many people spoke perfect english. I wish I could speak every language on the planet.

Tonight or tomorrow night I'm doing a photoshoot with Jacky as Dr. Tenma and Eva Heinemann from the anime Monster. Its semi obscure and the costumes aren't raelly costumes but I love the characters and it starts out in Dusseldorf so WHY NOT!?!!

Next up =crazyfreak and I will be terrorizing Amsterdam with our insanity!!!

Moscow is super awesome!! The sun only goes away here for 4 hours! The last two days we spent adjusting to the jet lag, as well as attending the russian convention. I really found myself super impressed with their masquerade, not because it went for 8 hours "_" but because every single skit was top notch and more like a very rehearsed performance rather than a typical masquerade skit. I think if the skits were like normal ones I'm used to then I'd be spooning out my eyes and eating them by the end of the 8 hours.

Today we're hanging out with ~love-squad and they'll be taking us around to things like the Red Square and other historic monuments.

Tonight we are traveling by private train sleeper car to St. Petersburg where we'll be photoshooting with a really gorgeous model in one of *Lillyxandra's fairy costumes for Kyle and her fairy project. I'm so excited to see the costume up close and see it on the model. Although I am a little nervous since our friend Leetah told us to keep silent and not speak from the moment we leave the subway to themoment we get inside the train station so as not to identify ourselves as Americans. Apparently there are people who are drunk and hang around the train station who will kill us if we give ourselves away. I don't really know what to make of that, but its scary. This will be like a secret agent disguise mission but IRL

Wow that was disasterous. We arrived to the airport at LAX at 5:45 AM, but our flight didn't leave until 8. United literally had us waiting there at the counter up until our flight was boarding! They were so inefficient! All we had to do was get our bags ticketed so we could go. Luckily they sent a representative with us to security and they put us at the front of the line. Even then we had to run to our flight and were the last ones on it!

Alright... So... I was a bit cryptic in my last journal. But I was tired... and needed an outlet to pour my happiness out to. You DA folk seem to be the ones who get the brunt of my moods, be they emo or happy.

The short version is... I have a new boyfriend. No... don't ask me what happened to the old one because I'm not going to say. He doesn't deserve even that much mention here.

I'm extremely happy, happier than I've ever felt before in my life. I'm alive. Truly truly alive...! This feeling is something I've never experienced before, and I could only describe it as euphoria. If only I could convey to you all how much he has changed my life and awakened parts of me that I thought did not exist... I want to scream from a mountain top that I love him, but this will have to suffice.

I've never actually closed a book and refused to finish it.

Twilight changed that.

This had to be the worst book I've ever read in my entire life.

I had been seeing this Twilight stuff quite a bit in the last six months or so. Everything from Fanart here on DA, to big RPs going on, to a movie thats coming out. It piqued my interest enough when my sister Leah, who I usually consider to be a good judge of books, kept telling me I had to read it and how great it was. I borrowed the books from my roommates mother, who also said that they were so gripping she couldn't put them down. Another good sign. What I failed to do was read the reviews from Amazon like I should have.

This book was terrible. It started out alright. Stephanie Meyer's writing style isn't particularly memorable. She doesn't over use certain vocabulary words, but it does get a bit redundant at times the way she tries to toss in big words to help out her descriptions. Words like "alabaster" "scintillating" and "smoldering."

At first I was intrigued with the description of the town of Forks, and how the people lived there and interacted. I liked her descriptions of the new highschool and how Bella felt going into it. What really began to annoy me though, was the instant obsession that all the boys in school suddenly had for Bella. Oh no... Miaka complex was starting to form! Fushigi Twilight? Despite this, I expected I would soon be swept into a gripping plot filled with chemistry and tension and mystique. lawl.

By something like the 5th Chapter, with no interaction whatsoever, Edward is already rescuing Bella in an anime-like fashion and exhibiting super-human characteristics. He's oh so brooding, and oh so charismatic, but he's oh so there for her whenever she needs him to be! But he himself doesn't know why he saved her! Its destiny! its fate! suddenly they are in love!

WTF? And then the next 400 pages are filled with useless drivel describing in unnecessary detail Edwards greek-god pectoral muscles and his sculpted arms, and how he glitters in the sun and how he's so perfect and how could such a beautiful specimen ever fall for poor generic normal Bella who is totally unworthy? KILL ME NOW!

Its like Stephanie Meyer can't decide what kind of character she wants him to be. Is he brooding and mysterious? Is he happy go lucky? Is he the anti-hero with a dark past? Oh wait he's all of these things! He's whatever she feels like he should be at the time! I was gagging through every page, and rolling my eyes. I had to keep going though. There had to be some reason why this stupid book was so popular. The foolish female populace couldn't have simply dug these books because of their basic and dead-horse-beaten-over-used supernatural shoujo-manga-esque plot... could they? We've all seen the brooding anti-hero falls in love with the generic mary-sue, and rescues her multiple times from thugs in the street and other evil villains plot. So what makes this one so special? I don't understand.

In my high school days I read a lot of stupid romance novels. But unlike Twilight, these novels had lots of charisma, lots of chemistry. The build up of sexual tension and desire between the characters was palpable, and it had me riveted with my nose in the book into the wee hours of morning. Twilight failed on all accounts. The dialog was trite, boring, and superfluous; The characters were 2d, flawless, and forgettable; The conflict, that takes place throughout the few chapters at the end of the book, seemed last minute and was resolved in the most anti-climatic way ever.

This book was so predictable on so many levels that not once did I ever feel nervous for the characters, afraid of the outcome, or confused on what might happen. At the end, without even a show down or much explanation as to what happened to the "antagonist", we go back to Edward and Bella in the hospital, with more useless fluff and needy I love yous and boring dialog. I gave up.

I closed the book, put it back in the box with the other Twilight series books that had been lent to me, and sat there wondering what exactly I had missed, that everyone else seemed to love so much.

Plot: Basic, unoriginal
Writing: Juvenile, forced
Buildup: nonexistent
Characters: forgettable, marysue

Lol geez I really don't like moving. My roommate finally found us a place in Pasadena, CA so I'm going to be moving back there tomorrow morning. Unfortunately because of how horrid the job situation is everywhere, my boyfriend has thus far been unable to find work in California so he had to go back to Arizona where he had a guaranteed job. So now... we're separated. It sucks because he's not going to be around for my birthday on Sunday so I'll have to just spend it by myself. It feels quite sad since I didn't even realize my birthday was coming up until people on myspace preemptively started wishing it to me 5 days ahead of the actual date X_X; But yeah, kind of depressing. I may go back to my mother's house but that in itself is a terrifying place.

Gonna have another journal feature pretty soon. Be prepared!

So far so good. We haven't tested for tumors yet... I don't know why, but the vet said they wanted to wait for 2 weeks. So I suppose I'll have to wait till I come back from Japan to test her. I have my friend Ben coming to stay at the house with her while I'm gone so that she she has someone she knows with her and doesn't get depressed that no one is there. She came back positive with a thyroid disease, so they gave me medicine that would help regulate her thyroid levels. The thyroid explained the gross weight loss, so now I'm feeding her 3 cans of cat food a day to pack it back on her, and giving her her medicine. Hopefully everything will be okay.

My tablet is acting up again and making me so mad. I thought it had been the nib that was the problem but for the last few weeks it hasn't responded to any sort of pressure sensitivity. I fear it may just be dead. No amount of driver updating or computer restarting or settings switching seems to fix it. Wacom's tech support doesn't know what to tell me. So basically I managed to get my drawing of *Lomebririon's Alastrina done but I can't freaking color it until this thing works again, or I get a new one. I have a feeling I'll just get a new one. Since my dumb tablet is doing this, I've been uploading cosplay into my gallery to stave off boredom.

Also.. my glands in my neck on the left side are swollen. Not a good sign. I better not be getting sick before Comiket. I have WORK TO DO in Japan. I do not want to be sitting on a plane squashed in for 11 hours in coach while feeling crappy. >:/

Last night at about 2 AM I woke up and found blood pooled underneath Kiki. I rushed her to the animal emergency room and they took x-rays that didn't bode very well. She may have a tumor or feline leukemia. At around 7 AM I took her to the regular vet and they decided to run thyroid tests, kitty leukemia tests, blood work, and kidney tests. I don't know what it is, but we won't be doing the scope or ultrasound to find the tumor (if it is there) till the results come in from these tests. I'm really scared that this is finally the end for her. I've had her for 18 years. Since April 6 1990. I was in 3rd grade when I helped her mom give birth to her. Kiki was the first kitten born, so I claimed her right then and there. Since then, she has slept in the bed with me every night... and now I won't know what to do. After 18 years what do you do when they die? I hope it's nothing... I'm really in denial right now, haven't eaten in 24 hours, haven't slept in 24 hours... can't really figure out what to do with myself.

So it’s been brought to my attention numerous times in the last two years that people steal my photos on my space to do strange things with them. They RP with them, RP as me sometimes, masquerade as me, or just post them up for whatever reason.

This is really becoming annoying, and it seems as though I can’t report them and have them removed as quick as they crop up.

I have reported to MySpace every fake account pretending to be me, and left it at that, but after the first five or so (and I did not go back to see if they were taken down) it has gotten to the point of stupid.

These people do not have permission to steal Kyle’s photography of me, and they don’t have my permission to RP as me or pretend to be me or whatever. I don’t find this flattering, I find it annoying. While I don’t pretend that I can stop identity theft or art theft, I can certainly report it to the best of my ability, when it is brought to my attention.

Also, if you see other cosplayers being impersonated, please report that as well. Some cosplayers don’t mind, or may even be flattered, but I am not one of them.

I have an Intuos 3 PTZ from Wacom. It cost 600$ back when I bought it in December of 2006. It doesn't seem like it is old enough to be deemed "dead"... yet my god it's been acting more and more awful in the past 6 months. I have been on the phone with Wacom at least 3 times trying to fix the problem.

The Problem: The pressure sensitivity SUDDENLY stops responding. Just out of nowhere doesn't work anymore!

The Original Solution: According to Wacom, my computer goes into power save mode or something, and it unplugs the driver in order to do that when it sleeps. So I disabled power save and did everything the tech support person at Wacom told me to do. It still didn't work.

Last week my tablet was acting worse than it ever had. I would tab out of Photoshop to respond to say *mandeh on MSN... and tab back in... and the pressure sensitivity wouldn't be working.

I literally had to reboot my comp 7 times a day just to do any sort of art. This tablet issue has made my recently lifted artist block that much harder to defeat.

THEN I finally got the idea that maybe it was a driver issue! lo' and behold, there was a new driver for me to download on Wacom. I was stoked! My problems were over! Bull. a week later.. today... my tablet now just refuses to register pressure sensitivity. Rebooting my comp, which helped in the past, doesn't help anymore. I've restarted 5 times already today, and no matter what, I go into photoshop and attempt to sketch, and BAM... no pressure sensitivity. I want to scream! Here I was finally past my artist block and ready to rock a picture of Alastrina for *Lomebririon and bam... my tablet stops working completely! WTFFFF ;_;

Is my tablet dying? Please dear god I need suggestions because I didn't pay 600$ when this thing was brand new, for it to last a year and a half.

I made a new club today on a whim. My friend *serenitythefaierikin drew a lovely picture of *mandeh's character Fern with her lover Kamaro, and I've drawn lots of art of them, and other people have, so I thought it would be a cool idea to make a club for Fern.

Fern is a Legend of Zelda based original character created by *mandeh back in 2003, and Kamaro is her roguish love. Since then, many many people have done art of Fern, and enjoyed her character immensely. Why not start a club for the one and only Magess of Hyrule?

Fern: Magess and do-gooder. (Yes I know 'magess' is not a real word... but it's the word Mandy has used since 2003 to describe Fern, so in a sense... it's a Mandy-ism.)

Since so many people have been asking me, and I've been replying in so many different places, I thought I'd make an announcement about AX so I don't make anyone mad who in the past I told I would meet there.

My boyfriend wasn't able to get time off to go to Anime Expo, and currently neither of us can afford the hotel room, or the gas it'll take to get there. So unfortunately those three factors are preventing me from going. I'd like to be able to go and see everyone like usual, but I just won't be able to make it this year.

It's kind of weird since I've been spending 4th of July weekend at AX every year since I was 19. What am I gonna do with myself?! O_O!!

Many thanks to those of you who went to my panel. I was really surprised that it had such a good turnout! I want to apologize again for being unable to cosplay, and only being there for my panel. I have recently had a very severe family problem throw a spike into my plans for the next year or so, and it made me unable to go to the con for the entire duration (and made me unable to access my costumes or any of my personal belongings). Gonna be gone for 8 or so days. I’m sorely overdue for a vacation away from Huntington Beach. Being without a car has started to give me cabin fever! Not to mention the fact that my mother sprang on us 3 unexpected guests without telling us in advance… so our house has been rather full. I feel most sorry for my sister Jessica though. She got thrown out of her bedroom for two of the guests to stay in, and has to sleep downstairs on the couch. Every night she gets off work at about 1 AM... but gets woken up at 5 AM by those same guests who took her room making their coffee. They come downstairs in the wee hours of the morning and start rattling the coffee machine and talking to each other five feet away from her. It's inconsiderate I think.

While I’m out in Tokyo I’m going to attend one of the special cosplay events, and hopefully it won’t be as scary as Comiket! I’m looking forward to it, and I’m sure you guys can guess which costume I’ll wear. Yep, you guessed it! Aeris -_-;; Much as I don’t want to… it’s definitely the easiest costume to wear and put on, and it’s insanely easy to travel with! So… Aeris it is. ;

I was honored by Cosmode Magazine, issue 21, to have my Castlevania: Symphony of the Night costumes given a small feature. Please go check out Issue 21 if you all are interested! You can order your copy of Cosmode Magazine at Cosworx.com within a few days. The magazine was released on April 5 in Japan... so it will take a few days for Cosworx to get their inventory, but by this week you should be able to order a copy.

Anyway, I'm wanting to do my website up in several different languages. I know it's really nice when I go to other cosplayers sites like Italians or Mexicans and they have Spanish or Italian versions of their sites, and then English versions. I was wanting to do the same with mine--and the first language I want to do it in would be in Japanese. If anyone speaks fluent japanese and is available to translate a few of my pages (the static pages not the blog entries... if people want to read those things they can google-translate it XD). Note me please if you're interested! Thanks a ton <3

What? You don't believe me? Ask her yourself! Go to her gallery and look at her beautiful paintings. Many of her most epic art pieces were mouse colored and not tablet. You guys better go and comment !! Epona Girl is also an artist for the online MMO "Horse Isle" and she is probably one of the best horse artists I've ever seen. She certainly has mastered the muscular structure of the animals!

Holy moly...

I'M DONE!

Today was my last final exam at FIDM, and now I get my grades back and graduate. I had a small problem with my transcript, where they incorrectly put a W in place of one of my classes, but they fixed that yesterday. Oh man though... I'm so bad at speeches.

In my first class I had to give a presentation, and I was doing GREAT... until I looked in the back of the class and this girl was laughing to her friend and pointing at me. I seriously just froze right there, and I swear a whole minute passed before I started up again. All eyes on me... OH it was sooooo embarrassing. Other than that I'm sure I did well in the class.

I ordered my Phi Theta Kappa cords and tassel, I'm really excited about that! And our graduation ceremony is gonna be at the Staples center! I think that's really neat.

~~ On to other matters!

As for my all call for manga artists... I'm sorry to say to everyone who responded and who was so great to show interest that I now have to cancel the project. Yesterday.. *pause for dramatic effect* .. my car passed away. She blew both head gaskets, both of which I had SPECIFICALLY asked Pontiac to look at and make sure were doing alright, and they told me they were fine. Well they obviously weren't, because they're gone now--Repairs for the car will cost 3000$... and that car isn't even worth 500$! So... I'm donating the car and saying goodbye to my friend who has been with me since I was 18! But now i have to get a new car, so I have to be able to make payments monthly, and that money I was going to put towards paying an artist will now have to go elsewhere. Boo. Graduation is somewhat sullied by this turn of events

In the mean time, I'm going to get my request art finished for the contest winners, and then open up commissions, because I'm gonna need to make some money while I look for a new job.

I first discovered =Irulana when stumbling across her fan art from the Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust movie. She has come a long way with her art, and both her anatomy and posing ability is phenomenal. Irulana places an incredible amount of detail into her pictures, and she is known for her characters Elion and Solaris, who are a vampire and angel lover combo. I'm doing an assignment that I forgot was due tomorrow. I was supposed to bring in sufficient evidence proving or disproving Michael Moore's movie: Sicko. If you haven't seen it it's a film about the american health insurance industry (and it's booming monetary growth and continuous fuck-over of sick people) vs the socialized medicines of other countries.

My question to the British and French citizens:

French:

1. Is your college actually free? X_X; if so .... what is the downside to it.. if there is one?

2. Are there extenuating circumstances with the free college? i.e. what's the catch?

3. Is your health care as fantastic as depicted in the movie if you have seen it? Or is it not so hot?

British:

1. How is your healthcare?

My mother says Brits hate their healthcare and their system and are poorly looked after, but I don't want to accept her uneducated opinion.

2. It's free... but are there any catches? I know that Moore pointed out that you guys are apparently drowning in taxes.. is it worth it?

Please respond with situations and experiences you have had as a british citizen, a french citizen, or an american who needed to go to the hospital in either of these countries. I don't care if you hate Michael Moore or love him. This journal is for collecting last minute info for an analysis class, not a political warfield.

It's called Japan Ai, and it's Amy Major Steinberger. It's about a tall white girl and her adventures in Japan. It's seriously got some adorable artwork and I'm so excited to read it because... yanno... I'm a tall white girl... and I stick out like a sore thumb when I'm in japan. I know Amy personally and she's a good friend of mine, so I know that this is going to be an incredibly awesome comic series.
