I find it a little strange that i'm not cranky at all, I guess i'm too busy mellowing out or something.
I'm currently working on a painting of an old drawing I did back in 2nd year, I am trying out blending colours and blurring lines and trying to give it a more realistic feel rather then just solid & flat colours, it's funny how you get back to all your older drawings that you thought were really epic at the time but can almost instantly point out all the errors on the anatomy and what looks a little off. You'll see when I post it, i'm trying to fix the errors as I paint more but it's a little trickey! There is also another sketch in the sketchbook which will be getting finished, scanned up and painted at some stage soon I hope, nice to have a little motivation to draw again

I have a music recommendation for you if you'll take it!
Tori Amos is freckin' sweet! I think I can officially say she is now my favourite musician.
She was in way back before when Alannis Morrisette had made Jagged Little Pill days, shes got a very different style so she may not be to everyones liking, but just throwin' it out there, take it or leave it, no biggie.

Well, it's been just over two months now waiting to hear back on this illustration job which I apparently nailed in the interview and had for sure, not sure what happened there but everytime a meeting was supposed to be set up it never actually happened and now i'm broke and bored and sick of sitting at home all day everyday doing the same routine over and over being strung along waiting for a job which I now believe isin't going to come, therefore! I am working on my CV at this very moment in hopes that some of the local stores down in Botany Downs will be hiring!
CV's are a lot trickier then I remember them being back in the day, I haven't got a clue what to write or what skills I should put down, on that thought I kinda wish that I had awesome num-chuck skills, that'd kinda kickass!

It's a pretty average day today, not too sunny, not too cloudy, not too hot, not too cold, it's quiet ... perhaps, too quiet! I'm expecting some kinda awesome explosion to happen somewhere, preferably in the sky where no one will be nailed by it ... actually a good thunderstorm would be good, we haven't had one of those for quite some time huh?

Just the other day, I was standing outside on my deck, I can't remember why I was out there but I had this massive epiphany which seemed to come outta no where, it was epic! Everything seemed to fall into place which was nice for a change, clarity is awesome when you get hit with it! Anyways, I explained all my thoughts and realization's to a good friend of mine in Christchurch who had some interesting things to say about all of it.

I saw the Chief briefly a few days back to pick up my hat, was good to see you again Chief!

Thought I would update since the old post wasn't really that interesting!

What to update?
Well I am still job-less! Other then doing my regular Monday/Tuesday shifts at the supermarket to keep at least a little bit of cash coming. The days are slowly but surely getting boring, I am waiting to hear back about two jobs, one an illustration job the other an animation job, I think if I don't hear back with anything positive I will just get my act together and write up a CV (Finally!) and try my luck at a book/dvd/music store or something, on the plus side, if I do manage to get myself a job at one of those three types of places, I will have the resources I would usually require to make myself happy even if it doesn't pay too well!

Which brings me to another point.. before you read, I'm not exactly sure where i'm going with this BUT! ...
Cash truly does restrict you from the majority of the world huh? I feel it shouldn't but it does. For example, you wanna read that book you've had your eye on for ages to further your knowledge in a particular department, or you wanna go see that movie to motivate your imagination, or you really wanna go out for dinner just to get out of the house, or you wanna travel to some far off place just for the sake of being there, or you just wanna get on the bus or buy petrol and just drive around for no particular reason till you find a place that seems to 'call' to you... It all involves money, which requires working in a job you really do not enjoy at all which in the end means you must become a slave to money in order to do those things you really want to do, all for material things which usually you don't really NEED but you WANT them as it kind of "furthers" you as a person right? Or so it would seem.
I've always been a firm believer in the fact that if I MUST work, that I would work a job that I would enjoy even if it does pay crap rather then a job I hate which pays really well and would set me up to have whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted further down the track. I think if you are content in life doing what you are doing, without the need for material things that you don't actually NEED, then you shouldn't really NEED much money at all right? As long as I could pay the rent, I have my health and my friends then that should be enough to keep me happy throughout life right and no one should have any right to get on my case about being a "bum" and not having any financial goals right? I seem to look at life from a different perspective, I believe life is about learning and understanding, the journey not the destination, not being rich and driving a flash car and getting all the hot chicks/dudes... is having all those things at the cost of not enjoying your working life (which takes up quite a lot of your life) worth it? Sure they would be nice but i'm not so sure I could live life like that.
As I said before, i'm not sure where i'm going with this, just thought i'd rant!

Anywho! How's Freelance everyone?
Whos class is everyone in? Whos classmates with who? Any big changes? I miss that place!

Speaking of which, my project is slooooowly coming along, it has not reached a standard that I am particularly happy with but it will do for now, I can always come back and fix it up later once the year is over with. I have updated my blog with a few colored scenes and have uploaded my poster, whaddya think? I thought maybe the chocolate chips in the title made it look a little too busy but maybe that's just me being fussy?

In other news .. We had the open day at Freelance today, some pretty friendly randoms coming through which was cool, it's nice sometimes when people take in interest in what you are doing

Work Exp. was good - Was pretty tired due to lack of sleep so didn't get as much done as i would have liked but no matter, I was forbidden to speak about the Alien vs Predator movie as it seemed to grind gears within certain individuals within the studio which is fair enough, in fact the movie no longer exists .. it never existed and the sequel which is coming up will now be known as the first Alien vs Predator movie.

I finally picked myself up a drawing board after almost three years of animation school, took me long enough huh? Stupid lack of money always got in the way!

Anywho! Other then that all is well, I think I'm off to bed as yet another day of Freelance awaits me tomorrow, am cleaning up scenes now and getting them ready to color, more deadlines coming up!
Will Ryan make it in time?

There is still a bit of time to go back and rework some of the animation and get that 15 seconds of cleaned up and colored animation done so I will be coming back to Freelance over the holidays to do some touching up me thinks! Will have to do some re-recording perhaps too but we shall wait and see.

In other news, I have recently been doing some work experience just down the road from the school with four other of my classmates, so far so good I think, we are working with ex-freelancers who are all very cool people to be assisting ... hoping I don't botch anything haha fingers crossed huh?

Oh yeah! And leave Britney alone guys! Seriously can't you see Chris is upset? It's all our fault that she sucks, don't blame it on her! She has been through so much .. you BASTARDS!!1!one!

How have everyones holidays been?

I've been trying to save for a wacom tablet too these holidays but that's not working out so well unfortunantly, have been looking on trademe but they are much more expensive then I thought they would be!

1) It's not really weird but I sing out loud when no one is around, actually I sing out loud when people are around too so I guess this doesn't really count does it? Umm.. I wear a celtic ring on the middle finger of my right hand and wear a black tooth/claw thing around my neck.

2) I have this weird leg spasm thing, I think it's called 'ants in my pants' or something, my heel will just start bobbing up and down and sometimes I have trouble forcing myself to make it stop.

3) I always shower at least twice a day, and usually always around the same time, 6.30 in the morning and around 10ish at night so if I seem to be snobbing you on msn around those times then you know why! Not that interesting but I thought you should know...

4.) My hair is very important to me, I hate having it scruffy or dry and down when I go out anywhere .. I hate it when people mess it up too, it takes me at least a whole song to do the do every morning people!! geez.

5.) It really irritates me for some reason whenever people push that button at the pedestrian crossings to make the little red man appear on the other side of the street when it has already been pushed .. pushing it again won't make it turn green any faster!

6.) The one thing I dislike above everything else in people is arrogance, above everything else .. Nothing pisses me off more then an arrogant person ranting on about how much better they are then everyone else so if you are an arrogant bastard it's better for the both of us if you don't come near me please, k thx bai!

I'll be slowly adding in people one by one to an ongoing drawing i've started, basically it's going to be a bunch of my buddies and myself being all psychotic and killerish and bloody and stuff like that, I think it's based in the future after we all finish at Freelance and can't find any jobs .. we'll resort to becoming assassins and killing for a living!

So far second year is going pretty well, nothing toooo stressful has been going on, what ever troubles have been seen have worked themselves out one way or another .. Life drawing is really helping a lot!
