My pageant, Apocalypse 2009, is finally over!
Who's the winner?

Congrats! And congrats to our second and third place winners, Tracy Peach and Carly Walsh.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Apoc 2010! The pageant will be annual and ~XMarleauxX and I already have an idea for the theme!

The pageant will be different, though. This was my first time hosting a pageant and I made a good deal of mistakes. To avoid further drama, there will be no public vote and scores will be posted at the end of each round (of which there will be only three). Any inappropriate behavior will have your entry dismissed and scores and awards revoked. I will also start the pageant earlier in the summer so that I don't loose half my judges and contestants to school again.

I hope everyone who entered had a good time and that you'll enter again next summer!

For the past two and a half hours I've been sitting on campus, staring at a blank word document. I've come to realize, this research paper is retarded. Sure, it's only six to eight pages and isn't due till next week, but I only have the books for it until Thursday, when I have to give them back to my friend who's doing a similar topic to mine.
I need to get clarification on the damn assignment from my professor, and I probably won't hear back from her till tomorrow. While I'm not working on this stupid paper, I have an equally stupid test to study for.
So, in short, there will be no features tomorrow and I'll be gone until Thursday to work on my paper every evening.

My brother currently rents a condo our parents own, but he'll be moving soon so my parents are offering to let me and my boyfriend rent it from them. The place is better than our apartment in every way. It has two bedrooms, one and a half bathrooms, it's larger than our current place, it has a yard, and best of all, it has a washer and drier. Not only that, but my parents would be willing to let us live there for cheaper rent than what we're paying now. We even have a room mate in mind for the second bedroom. Sounds perfect, right? Well, there's one big downside... the location.

I'd have to take two buses to get to work. And, not only would it take two buses to get to campus, but the whole trip would take an hour and a half! It's farther away from some of my bf's classes as well.

The place is so great and I really like it and would be very happy to live there, but the idea of being so far away from everything I'm used to kind of scares me. I know if we did move that I'd get used to it eventually, but... I dunno.

It's not for sure that we'll move there, we're still thinking about it. I don't know when we'd move if we decided to. I was just hoping I could get some outside opinions.

World War III has been escalating for years to the point of a nuclear holocaust. The bombs have decimated everything except a few scattered citizens. The streets are littered with ashes and the rubbled remains of buildings after an attack that would make Hiroshima look like firecrackers. The stink of sulfur is strong in the air. Major communications are down from the blast and will not likely return. You were just out of range enough to suffer only minor injuries. But how long will you last?

I'm not sure how long exactly. I started off with KiSS dolls, I took part in a few collabs. Some KiSS artists I liked started doing dolling and I followed. I think I was in middle school at the time.

2. You have to like something about it; what is it? What do you enjoy dolling?
I'm not exactly sure why I like dolling. I just do. It gives me something to concentrate on, I guess it's kind of an escape.

3. What do you HATE dolling, eh? You know, clothes, hair..
Long poofy/loose skirts, I can never get the folds to look right. And shoes are annoying depending on the angle.

4. Your favorite part of your dolls, usually is:
Hair. My fav part is always the hair.

5. What do you put the most effort into: clothes/hair/stuff..or base editing?
Hair and base editing. I tend to spend more time on hair than anything else, and base editing is just fun. I like to edit poses or redraw faces.

6. Bases are a staple of the dolling community. Do you like using them, or do you prefer to go baseless?
I've done baseless dolls in the past and they never turned out very well. Granted I had less skill at the time, but, meh... I like using bases.

7. Not all dollers are basemakers..are you?
I've made a few bases. I've never really made a full base set, though. I started one a couple weeks ago, but it turned out shitty so I deleted it. I'm not so great at making bases.

8. Are you part of any dolling forums?
I'm on Glam. I used to be a member at Eden Enchanted, What the Muffin, and a couple of other forums.

9. This community can suck ass sometimes. List for us FOUR pet peeves when it comes to the doll community, that you just wanna strangle people for:
I'm not hugely active in the community, so I don't have too many complaints. One thing that I know I do is I tend to gawk at dolls and say how pretty they are instead of giving any sort of helpful critique. I've noticed a lot of people do it. We need to stop gawking and give some CC. Also, people who receive CC shouldn't take it personally. And traced bases just aren't cool.
