I've been filling my free time with watching play throughs of survival horror games on Youtube. Ahh, sweet Youtube. I love survival horror games like Silent Hill and Resident Evil... unfortunately, I SUCK at them. Of all the things I miss the most about college, just crashing in the dorm room in the evenings watching the guys play games comes close to the top of the list. A couple of months ago I got to watch Freakachris play some Bioshock and since then, I've been watching survival horror games on Youtube. Just finished watching a runthrough of Rule of Rose... they say that game was nearly banned for being too "sensual" and "explicit." Honestly, I would have banned it for "lack of sense in plot." WTF?!?! Steer clear of this one, Chris, LOTS of creepy young girls.

In other news, go see the new Indiana Jones movie!!! A friend and I caught the midnight showing last night and LOVED IT! ^__^ That is all! Take care!

St Patrick's Day? Check, after waking up at 2 pm on my buddy's couch and hoping that the yellow puddle in the kitchen was just a spilled beverage, not someone drunkenly missing the bathroom.

Actually, St Patrick's Day went great this year! I DDed as always, but only had to cart around 4 people (last year, I had two car loads). No one got belligerently drunk, no one got sick and we stayed up unil 8 am playing Wii Sports.

Unfortunately, with this holiday over and done with, the NEXT major event is MY birthday. I hate my birthday. It has nothing to do with getting older or anything like that. Years ago, my mother chose my birthday as perfect time to explain to me that my father was having an affair and she had kicked him out of the house. Seeking solace with my friends, I drove 2 hours to my old alma mater, and visited with my friends who were still in school... and got stuck there when a week long blizzard hit town. Honestly didn't mind being stuck in a town with my friends with nothing better to do than to watch movies for a week, I just hate snow in general and don't like the inability to pick up and drive anywhere at a moment's notice.

At least on the plus side Tekkoshocon is coming up... Last year's Tekko was one of the best cons I've ever attended and I'm looking forward to it again. It's going to be the weekend following my birthday, so at least there's that. I need a fun vacation to get my mind off of things. Lots of things worrying me at the moment... going to try to not think about them tho!

I haven't been doing much writing recently. The muse has been elusive and I've been having a few health concerns that are weighing on me. I hope that it's nothing serious, mainly just aches and pains in places that have no reason to ache or pain, but unil my health insurance becomes affective next month, I won't know for sure. I am working on one piece currently, a fictional piece regarding the history of a character I play in a roleplaying game on Gaia Online.

I saw this posted on BluSheepArt's [link] journal and felt the need to post it here. A lot of people operate outside the confines of what "society" would consider "normal." My heart goes out to them. My little patch of Erie is not by any means what you would consider a "progressive" or "understanding." I had enough problems growing up just because I developed outside the realm of conventional female behavior (i.e. I read too much, didn't use makeup and wasn't obsessed with boys). I don't know many homosexual people, but the ones I do know are awesome, and I'd never wish anything ill on them.

When the game was first released, my friend Michelle and I raved on and on about it. Another friend of ours had a party celebrating her graduation from college and all the two of us did was gab on the entire night about how great the game was and speculate about what was going to happen next. It was one of the most fun parties I've ever attended. ^_^

Never ceases to amaze me how far people will go out of their way to harass people who aren't hurting anyone, just to make themselves feel good. Freaky-poo agreed, and we traded horror stories. God, it all reminds me of high school. And middle school. And primary school. Yea, I was never a very bright child, and I never DID fit in. Went through a LOT of torment. Probably why I hate to see people get picked on.

Thusly, I would like to propose the following thought for people who regularly flame other people's work, be it fan art or fiction, or what have you. If you don't like what you see, then just quietly move along please. I'm not talking about neglecting to provide some helpful critiquing regarding technique that the artist/writer might find useful, I mean picking juvenile fights over subject matter. This is not helpful to anyone. All you're accomplishing by picking fights with artists/authors is proving that you're an ass. You're trying to hurt someone who isn't doing anything to intentionally harm you, which is very, very cruel, and this should not make you feel better or superior to anyone else. Also, some of us might LIKE this writer/artist's work, and discouraging them from continuing and that might make us angry... Some of us might already be PMSing and don't need any encouragement to start flaming your work in return. It's a cruel vicious cycle. This argument might fall on deaf ears, but heck, it's worth a try.

People, keep doing what you love, regardless of what petty peons might think or say. Don't limit yourselves. There are a lot of mean people in the world who will try to do that for you, there's no reason to add yourselves to your list of enemies. Also, I like and respect your work and don't want to see it stop. ^_~ Have fun and do your thing.

I do like to write, so maybe one day some of my fiction will end up here... we'll have to see. I work two jobs currently, so I keep quite busy. One job is working at Borders book store, which I love and adore! I've always been a huge reader. My all time favorite author is Terry Pratchett, the mastermind behind the Discworld series. If you've never read the series before, please pick up a novel. They're all wonderful reads! (Well, except Pyramids... that story was just kind of weird). I also highly recommend Twilight by Stephanie Meyers, a young adult vampire romance novel. I usually don't hold the vampire romance genre in high esteem but this book blew me away!

Let's see... other interests? Well, I'm REALLY big into Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the moment. The new TMNT movie rekindled the love I felt for the series back in the mid 80s when I was a young'un. It's been months and nothing seems to be able to sate my cravings for more turtles, certainly not the number of DVDs I've purchased (Best Buy will be the death of my checking account if Borders isn't) or the wealth of gorgeous fan art floating around here! I also love playing video games! I'm currently working on Odin Sphere and having a good time with it, but my all time favorite video game series is the Suikoden series by Konami.
