'Ello all.
As I face the (not so) sudden cumulation of homework, graduation project-type materials, application for internship after I graduate, extra needed classes, and art projects... I'm also reodering my values and shifting real life to being first again.

It's not just that I'm too busy, but I have higher priorities than deviantART and as much as I love you all, I really must become a shadow and let myself fade into the background-as I've been working towards for a while now.

I hope you all understand, life is like this, I think you know.
I'll be around, actually, more specifically, I'll be on deviantART every monday as long as I have time. For some reason, Monday's are my lightest school days.

I'll also pop on to post artwork whenever I happen to finish it. The art projects that are now prioritized, in order...

Now you shall die laughing at the idea of Kristy's life being exciting...but still!

I just found out that February is going to be a super busy month. I have PSSA testing (it's state designated testing that everyone has to do, this month I have writing PSSA's) next week the 9th-11th...I just found out on Friday (yesterday) which means I'll have school to make up.
I've been sick all week and have gotten a little behind on things... my dreadful sore throat, weakness, random cold related stuff ended last night and this morning. Buuuuuut now my nose is running like crazy so I'm taking some sort of tylenol that stuffs your nose up, probably not the best solution but I things I need to do!
This afternoon we had a memorial service at my church for a very dear friend, an 82 year old black lady that I think half the city must have known,

at least, blocks around her house and everyone from our church and several others knew.

She was wonderful. Love you Joycee!
Our snow is all melting (I don't really mind) right now and heading over to GB it seems like

... I'm sure we'll get some more soon.

I have officially started my trade with *SelenaH and I'm working on that and another graphite piece right now. The last two weeks (I'll admit) were mostly consumed with two logo's I had to do for some friends and one huuuge digital project that I'm doing for the header for someone's site, logo, and other jazz... it's mostly ad-lib and out of my head so it's more difficult than most projects I've worked on.

Kristy is always her silly self. I don't know why, but I can't get her to stop ...and it's getting annoying :

You know how I posted a bunch of digital WIP's? Shortly after that I decided to turn to traditional and try drawing people...

So I have a drawing of Maximus (from the movie Gladiator) sitting on my desk about 20% finished, another printed picture of two actors, a polar bear drawing started, and the twh I started a while back still half finished. I can't seem to find a reference for *SelenaH's character yet.

AND recently I've decided to try to make a logo for a friend and another friend inquired about me working on the logo for his electric company. Plus a couple other projects here and there. Kristy = insane.

Oh dear. At least I can work on traditional in my classes ...

That's about it for now. I'm doing well as far as school goes, I got flying colors in all subjects in the second quarter which makes for high A's for the first semester. So that's happy.

Still doing art and music. My english teacher is rather insane, I think he thinks he's doing an AP class, he designed the course a few years back for college prep I think he said... Oh well, it's fun anyway, I like a challenge in English.

Here's the jubilant journal where I announce that I've finally finished something!

Soo...without further ado...

I'm so jubilant! I finished something! (drumroll please)

I'm extraodinarily happy

I just sent an e-mail to Kordel a few minutes ago...so I'll find out what he and Amanda think either sometime tonight or tomorrow morning when I see them. I think Amanda will like it for sure, even though it's not super obvious that it's them besides her hair.

Other than the piece I just finished (and the four I just started

) I'm feeling very good today. I got things done this week, I'm back into school full-swing, I have to write a very specific poem with no rhyme and all these rules for english (about Beowulf) but I'll do that on Monday. Oh so optomistic

It's been quite a while since I didn't have a sub...

It's quite different, the ad's are more annoying then I thought they'd be, but hey, dA is still dA. Besides, all the subs I've had have been gifts, and for that, I'm more than greatful.

Happy 2009! It hasn't been the greatest so far, but that't mostly (or all) my fault so it's alright. I haven't been here much ...haven't done a whole lot of submitable art, or art at all.

I'm officially back in school (second day was today), we had a super short winter break this year and I was catching up all my second week on school that I'm doing at my own pace. Not too much of a break.

Hope you all are doing well, sorry to say this, but I can't imagine that I'll be spending much time here in the near future, I'm desperately trying to find enough muse to work on my two trades (~TwilightMyst and *SelenaH), and one other project, but atm it's just sketches.

So yeah, I understand I'm royally late.

I was too lazy to update on Christmas or any time since then

two days isn't too long I suppose. In any event... Merry Christmas! And soon a Happy New Year!

My Christmas was quite lovely, I spent a few hours shopping on Christmas Eve morning which turned out quite well ...probably because it was so early and the weather was too bad for many people

Christmas itself was mostly great because I got to spend time with my family!

My one sister-in-law (as of this year) gave me her drawing board...it has some paint on it, but I thought maybe I could draw on the other side and paint on the original side ...for lack of a better way to get a completely smooth surface. Towards last Christmas, I really didn't get very much...but it was so much better than any Christmas's in a very long time. The family get-to-gather on my mom's side was fantastic...and then our Christmas day was so lovely.

No snow of course-just sun and mushy mud.

I hope you all had as wonderful a time as I did. It was really a wonderful day. Since then I've done a bit of art for the first time in a while and slept in plenty of hours, I've been dreadfully short on sleep!

I also got my SAT scores, I did better (much better) than I'd hoped in math and not quite as good as I'd hoped in English but I'm happy overall.

Tell me that art won't be perfect the first time I try and that its okay... maybe even good. Not the art, but that I'd finish something without being so worried about whether it's perfect or not to finish it. I think its rather absurd. How will anything get better if I never actually work on it, right? Ah yes.

Slap some sense into me people.

Other than that... I'm finally swinging back up emotion etc-wise and so art should be starting to creep back into my fingers if I take care not to scare it away. I hope to work on *SelenaH's trade, and two other pieces I'm doing for people outside of deviantART.

School is the main time burglar at the moment...super busy, teachers are cramming tests in right before christmas break, and goodness, I'm only in highschool! I'm really glad I'm not in college right now.

I don't know exactly what I'd do. And because I am so busy with school of course I'm here on deviantART playing around with my front page...

I have a family get to gather this weekend, that should be interesting. I still need to go christmas shopping, but that should be fun! And I we have about an inch and a half or two or snow.

Quite pretty, but it's melting.

It's coming on so fast!! I can't believe it.

I've been able to spend a bunch of time with my family lately... and Christmas, when we all get together, is coming quickly! I can hardly believe it's so close...my regret mostly has to do with not being well prepared for it. I took my SAT test but won't know how I do for another couple of months... I'm just glad it's over and hope I don't need to take it again.

I'm still starting new art projects and failing to finish old ones.

I'm really tired of not having finished anything, maybe I'll finish something sometime soon. I'd most love to be able to do art pieces for each of you individuals reading this... I have so many people I'd like to do drawings/paintings for on my list that it is just insane.
I was originally going to try to do a christmas piece and mail it out to as many people as I could afford, but that fell through after I didn't do a winter piece. I was waiting for a photographer's permission to use a photo as reference and it still hasn't come.

So many people have had hard years, I'd just love to bless them and encourage them somehow. Sometimes I just want to give you a smile, or some sort of something that will brighten your day... that is one thing that can get me down, I can't tell if I blessed you...or how you're actually doing, and sometimes I just can't do anything at all! I think some years are easier and harder than others...but they always have struggles.

These aren't in order necessarily, if you know me well you'll know I have trouble picking favorites. I really like how this turned out, even though it looks grainy...it really did turn out quite nicely, all things considered.

It seems to be a community favorite... I like it mostly because of how the hair turned out, and indeed, that's most of the image. This was my second digital painting and was finished in only a few hours.

Originally I was updating to apologize for dropping off the face of the planet - my comments have become scarcer and scarcer, + no real art for a while. I'm really not doing so good in real life right now. Health is okay, school is a bit overwhelming at times, as are the holidays, I'm just a bit depressed right now and I'm not even sure if depressed is the right word.
Staying up late seemed to make me feel better, or maybe it's just that I can't see straight and I'm too tired to think properly.

However you take it, I'm here!

And very lonely for the past couple of weeks and feeling like I'm falling short everywhere. Probably typical, but it doesn't make it any easier. I hope you all are doing better and excited for Christmas! I started a new drawing on my 9 x 12 in bristol board pad I bought sometime this summer of a TWH and that will probably progress and get finished this week if my SAT's and Spanish test don't scare me off.

Has anyone else gotten snow? We've scarcely gotten more than an inch so far this year but we've had lots and lots of flurries.

christmas is coming

This is called procrastination from a mountain of home work and SAT prep work (my SAT test is two weeks away and I haven't prepared much)... + I was up way too late doing art last night and I'm tired.

So, the christmas list!

already better!

Better! I can't believe I was feeling so rotten as to make such a depressing journal.

But I really was. In any event, I was really very miserable to any of those who have doubts as to my honesty.

Yesterday the side pain had just disappeared and I was feeling much better. I got a lot of homework done and my back is feeling a bit more optomistic now that I'm off the couch back into my desk chair.

To make things even better, I'm drinking Earl Grey tea (sugar and milk of course) and drawing a dog. Yes dear, ~Qadr, your trade finally! It's a little loose but not too loose or I would have finished it already.

Thank you for all the well wishes, I just had to get all that nasty stuff off of my front page now that I'm feeling better. Best wishes for everyone preparing for the holidays! I'm just wondering how I'm going to afford presents for people.

And I'd love to do a holiday art piece.

Lastly, I just wanted to say that Manyu has now become an excercise piece, I no longer have hopes for it being a masterpiece

it's too ... strange, and I think his pose isn't right for the scenery. Hah. The dog will be finished today. Don't expect to see anything else anytime soon besides trades and the fall picture.

goooooodness.

I'm still here!! Can you believe it?

No comment about Obama... though I'm happy we have an African American president, that's pretty awesome.

The values of the two different parties scare me a bit though, I'm just tentatively waiting to see what happens.

My other older brother is now married! He was married on the 1st, so that's why I dropped off the face of the planet, at least, that's one reason. I had a crunch for the end of the first quarter in school too.

Art has gone down the tubes as I've been exhausted and busy, and I can't say it will come back up this week, sorry! I am actually getting inspired again, but I have very little time and need to study spanish and chemistry and all those lovely things that don't stick in my scatter-brained head. Annnd my english teacher is hyperactive and scares me to death.

To be honest, I need a bit of encouragement and it's lonely over here.

Contemplations etc

Don't worry to all you people who don't want to read or comment another long journal about life and issues that people have. You can close this tab now if you'd like

I'm not expecting a lot of comments. I'm just talking.

However, before I get into all that jazz, I'll update you. I finished my third of five trades. Other stuff in progress is in the box below...and random projects I haven't mentioned, it may interest you to know I'm playing with my prismas! For the first time since I was like 10 I'm trying out colored pencils, it's quite interesting anyway. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED I may open commissions. I know it's hard to get commissions here but I may be open if I find any interest. I'll be reasonable with prices so let me know if you have any desire for something of that sort. I'd love to do a really painty kitchen item maybe or coffee shop idea if I have time but I'm not sure how that will play out... the cheese for example, maybe onions or something that would look nice in a kitchen. Relatively easy and quick but look cool anyway.

I'm still trying to decide if I'll tackle christmas presents this year.

Also, ~Qadr has finished her half of our trade and it is located in the features, so take a look.

Now for the talk...
I know there are other people who feel like me - that the things they do aren't worth much, the skills they have aren't that advanced - despite what other people say, I know there are plenty of people who at age 16 were or are much better artists than I am. My little sister for instance is a brilliant artist, she is bold enough to try different mediums and enjoys writing stories like I do as well. The difference between us is that she's been bold enough to step out with it. And I'll be honest, I'm proud of her...and very jealous.

I'm not asking for you to tell me I'm talented, on the contrary, but neither am I saying that I am not. I know I am, I'm not going to go pity-party on you all about it,

but I also know there is plenty of room for improvement and despite my greatest efforts there will ALWAYS be people better than me, but there also will always be people not as advanced as me. I'm not depressed about my art, actually, believe it or not, I'm feeling pleased with what I've accomplished. It's a new feeling so don't think I'm going to turn into a snob all of a sudden, but it is really encouraging. I don't think having confidence is the same thing as being prissy.

My oldest brother was just over (married, age 24) with his wife and played a song for my fam (he's an incredible bass and electric guitar player as well as acoustic and has the perfect hand for classical) it had words and has to be one of the most amazing songs I've heard. I loved the melody...everything! The funny thing was, I asked myself several times if I just liked it because it was my brother, truth be told, no. I liked it because he is super talented and has an incredible gift. Someday, and hopefully not terribly far away, I want to write a song like that. Depressing

YOU UP!!
Everyone seems sad right now... whether or not its the every-day mundane efforts of the starving artist who finds themselves stuck doing things they really hate to stay afloat, the oppressively heavy and nothingy stench of depression, or just struggling to find worth and substance... whatever it is

I'm fighting it too. I think a lot of it for me is because I'm not doing what I'm meant to do, or what I dream to do.
I love people. I'll be completely honest here.
Drawing horses is therapeutic. It really is. They're gorgeous, fun to draw, really amazing looking and intelligent eyes...I love them. However, as much as I have fun drawing them, they really donÂt hold a whole lot of worth to me once IÂm finished. Sure, IÂm proud of a new technique IÂve mastered or discovered and happy to have found an outlet for this or that but the truth is, IÂm tired. Not of horses necessarily, but of the same, repetitive, blahness of what I do. I have been starting a bunch of people projects and itÂs really hard, hah... thatÂs an understatement.

I really stink at people. Really badly. However, I love them just the same and IÂm coming up with things out of my head. Sometimes I just feel like such a dreadful copier. I can copy peopleÂs accents and voices, I copy peopleÂs styles and pictures for references, I get inspired and for fear IÂll do something wrong or lack of creativity my inspiration looks a lot like theirs.

Feels shameful anyway.
So. HereÂs to you all having a rough time, really IÂm just thinking and knowing things should be different and we should be free of this oppressiveness that we just have to work through on our own for the most part. But IÂm here for you. I care about you. I think you know who you are...

Better, pageviews?

This week has been better than last, it didn't start out better mind you ...but it's better since then and I'm coming back to the upbeat I normally am.

that's always nice.

I am rather puzzled though, where in the WORLD are all my pageviews coming from? I know to some of you 50 pageviews a day isn't a lot but that's quite different from my 30-a-day average I held for about a year. Is there someone featuring me or something ? I haven't submitted art for a week and a half and still the pageviews come... hey it't nice for a change.

I'm so sorry for all of you who I missed saying happy birthday to, this week was...awful. And if it helps my case any, I was gone Friday and Saturday.

So happy birthday to Ash and Los, I know I'm three days late (3rd)...also happy birthday to *EvilCheese2 and ~alhadiye I'm two days late for you two..... and finalllyyyy, another big happy birthday to *Shiaine and =ellastasia whose birthday is Monday!

I didn't get much done besides school this week and my reason to not saying happy birthday to everyone on Friday and Saturday was because a really good friend of mine was getting married and I helped out ...and was up until all hours of the night and didn't even really see any of the wedding ceremony...we were too busy setting up the reception, and it was outside. It was quite chilly to say the least

at least I had the sense to wear dress pants instead of a skirt.

I'll submit my half soon. I have done so much art lately...and I'm writing at the same time!!

There's a lot of practise things I'm doing lately, three arab busts I did in Photoshop, though you may not see it since digital = more time than traditional. I find material insanely fun to draw, so I'm working on a dress project with a bunch of dresses, it's a huuuge challenge, so we'll see if I submit them or not. Manyu is still on the table progress-wise btw.

School is alright, I love my psychology teacher, my Spanish teacher is great, my chemistry teacher is fine, my English teacher is insane - I'm not kidding or exaggerating but I'm warming up to him anyway, my math teacher is okay... so it's all good. This year is better than last anyway.

IÂm doing a lot more than last year too. EverythingÂs sort of a buzz with preparing for state testing (PSSAÂs, SATÂs), trying to get my drivers license (I still need my permit), and figuring out how soon after I graduate to go to the internship.

New stuff

I'm full swing into school now and realizing a schedule can get even busier

I hadn't thought it could. Oh well

I went to sleep this morning a little after 1am and got up at 5:30. I'm running a little low on sleep.

I got a couple things from my school... first I got a laptop instead of my desktop for various reasons! The screen is a regular laptop screen so it drives me crazy (the changing colors, extra glare, bouncy screen) for art but it's pretty awesome anyway. I also got a bamboo fun, it's little...but it's fun. It's actually a LOT bigger and better than my last tablet so it's really awesome. I got it for algebra 2 class, actually my friend got it for algebra 2 class and he was sweet and traded with me and took my old tablet.

He's been my friend all my life one of my two best friends.

I also finished two pieces of art

I'm pretty happy about it. And to be honest, I'm proud of the job I did, probably mostly because I finished something and stopped stressing about minute details.

I've loved other people's art lately too! I hope you enjoyed mine

I updated my to-do list and started an excercise on equine busts. It should be fun, I'm taking it easy...and at the same time I'm working on Manyu's background. I have no idea what I'm doing with Manyu... maybe I should just finish the background after all this work on it and then make Manyu stuck in a mound of snow.

he's hopelessly purple. HAH. yeah... biiiiigg mistake. Still at a loss of what to do ...though I love him dearly, and love the background too...

Me.....

I got the 30-day trial of corel painter x the other day so now I'm desperately trying to paint something before it runs out.

it's so confusing and the selection...layer stuffs and related are so different from photoshop, can you merge layers?! I can't figure out how. And can you delete the canvas layer? The brushes are fun but I just ended up using the detail airbrush.......what's good for easy digital painting...when one knows nothing about real painting ?

"School" is almost started. Though if you have been reading my journals you'll remember that I did school all summer. I'm still not finished. I have two unit exams and two finals as well as five lessons or so of history to complete. I'm ready to be finished

It's all happening this upcoming week. The Meet the Teacher days are Tues and Wed (26th & 27th) and then we have off until the second of September since the first is a holiday here in the U.S.

I have taken a couple weeks off, partially incidental but off all the same so we'll see how that goes coming back in and taking finals next week. I've had some encouragement lately and I'm ready to keep fighting and working and yeah... I'm basically at peace about stuff and believing there is good in my future so that's always helpful.

What's new with you all ? I could talk forever but when it gets down to it, besides wishing I had someone to talk to...I really just want to hear from you. Really. COMMENT please ?

Deals? HELP

Soo... I was deviantarting and all sorts of related stuff and all of a sudden I came upon the student discounts on software I had been searching for a long while ago. And then I found this deal:
Corel Painter X with VisTablet Graphics Tablet (12x10) - Mac/Win for $148.98 .... it says you save $398.00 .... which I know to be true.
My question is... do YOU think that's a good deal?
Have you ever used a vistablet? and have you ever used it with a normal mac or windows computer? Does it work normally? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT FEATURES DON'T WORK THE SAME WITH REGULAR WINDOWS OR MAC's?
They apparently have 1,024 levels of sensitivity, is that a good amount as they compare?

I'm so lost... I've done a bunch of comparing and searching and my chief worry is how well the pen works with normal windows and mac... it's designed to work specially with vista. Also, does any pen work with any tablet ? ? ?

If you don't have any experience with anything I'm talking about, is there anyone you know who does that you could ask for me or connect us about it ? I'm seriously in need of guidance.

Music!!

So I finally have an iTunes account I can use.

Took long enough right? Well I can't have my own because I'm too young to pay for it ...so it was kind of ridiculous and annoying, but I DID get it all worked out and now I have iTunes.

So the question is this. What's good music to listen to for art? Like...soundtracks of specific movies, certain artists? Does anyone have music they'd like to share with me either ? Or just titles for me to look up too would be great.

WIP Results

First thing I realized with the poll was how innactive I must have been for the past two centuries here on deviantart to get so few responses. Secondly I noticed that the purple horse (who is supposed to be white/grey) has fallen in popularity.. Manyu (Manny

I knew you were all waiting for Longing to Escape I'd just forgotten about it since Manyu's been hanging over my head for over 6 months. He's really getting jealous at all the limelight given to the others. And NOW Born of the Night is one vote ahead of Manyu!

wow. Soooooo... I'll have to see what I'm in the mood for, but I'll probably finish Longing to Escape (I know I said that the beginning of the summer) and then work on Manyu and Born of the Night on and off. The latter is easier, at least for me, so it will probably get done sooner. Manyu just has so many parts

On a downer side, my computer monitor has permanent lines in it and my red light mouse ...just died. So I'm using my wacom mouse...which is probably the worse mouse ever.

I did arts!

...so I finished that Arab piece ...

I'm so happy. I'm starting to regain some confidence in myself...I know it's not perfect...and I think I may have shaded the head slightly wrong so it looks a bit too small... but... I finished something! I'm coming out of the rut!

It's a happy hour. LOL.

No more progress concerning Corel Painter or a new wacom pad... but I'm still thinking about it.

If my computer wasn't so slow digital art wouldn't such a drag... PS Elements isn't the most advanced program either...

I obviously decided to try for the mac-ish layout so I hope you like it...I probably will stick with this for a while. Once I finish some digital piece I'll probably make a new icon... Other random thoughts? ... I'm tired. I want a new signature. I'd like a laptop, and lots of programs... I want to write!! (but I'm fasting writing for several reasons) Born of the Shadows had 222 favorites last time I looked

My school computer was worked on by the tech support from my school, now granted it isn't any faster than before, but it now blocks deviantART. That is a very small factor in my decision though...
I need some time to redefine my priorities and decide what I'm doing to do with my time.
I am quite busy with school, I'm finishing 10th grade, trying to get my drivers license, doing school over the summer, trying to have a summer job, then I'll be doing 11th and 12th grade together next ye... ]]>

It's my birthday today!! I am now officially 16 years old. On one hand that sounds really young, on the other it's ...just different. I'm not sure what exactly to think...but I don't consider getting older a bad thing. I'll get my permit to drive soon too!

I had a surprise party on Saturday after I got home from work (I worked 8a-12pm) and then my parents said they were taking me out on an outing...so we're driving along and they tell me we are going to GuitarCenter, we dropped by my oldest brother's house (24 and he's married and knows everything about guitars) and picked him up. At GuitarCenter I got to pick out a new guitar, I really needed one..it's another acoustic but it's actually super gorgeous. I liked my old one for the first while but it wasn't a good quality guitar, or it got worse over time. This one is muuuch better acoustically and electrically... and it's gorgeous. I'll have to get a picture of it for you all I'm in love!
After we picked out a guitar we went out to eat, and then dropped by my church to set up for Sunday morning (we have a youth ministry for the kids at the highschool in my city so sometimes we have to clean up...there are pool tables, ping pong, bumper pool, air hockey, and foosball..or however you spell that). I had gotten wind of the party somehow but wasn't expecting the people who were there. It wasn't a really big party (I don't know that many people who live close enough to come - whoever you are reading this for example) but a friend from my church, a friend from the homeschool co-op I went to this year, both of my sisters (Jes - 18, Elizabeth - almost 12), and my best friend from school Liz!! I drew a picture of her remember? I see her about once a year, and I already saw her at the volleyball tournament earlier this year, and I'm going to youth camp with her in the summer.
It was amazing. I stopped dead in my tracks and stared at her. It was lovely. They had all kinds of decorations, we had ice cream and brownies and played some games...and opened presents of course I need a case for my guitar because it's deep bodied and they didn't have Ibenez (that's the kind) case's where we went just cheap ones..I want a hard case, so they all got to see it. I also got a bunch of earrings, three shirts, a CD, a couple odd things here and there and a used, second generation iPod Nano. That was unexpected. I was surprised my parents could even afford to get me a new guitar, they gave me a price they could go up to but we didn't even have to get there especially good since I still need a hard case... the iPod was from a friend of mine, it wasn't too expensive ...not like it was cheap I never would have asked him to pay that much... but I don't need an iPod touch, or anything I just wanted an iPod. I can't believe he got it for me, he's like a younger brother...anyway he's amazing. So is all my family, and all my friends. It was so good to see them. I got pretty much all the way better from being sick too, not quite top notch, but better, then I had to get poisen ivy I mentioned that before, how it swells up my face? Well this time it only made my left eye swell a tiny bit and then it went back down. Nothing I couldn't cover up with foundation.

Physical condition wise - So I have a little cold...no longer really sick, and I'm better in other ways too...however I'm plagued with another problem now.
Do you remember me saying about poisen ivy? How it makes my face swell up and my eyes swell shut and stuff? Well I have it on my lower right arm, and a little on my left...and now it's along my jaw too. I have no idea how I would have gotten it. I just hope I can get it to go back down ...soon!!

Artwise - Another WIP I was working on it earlier today between classes and I'm just putting in details and then I'll work on the wall and the window.

Other - I want to say Happy Birthday to a whole bunch of incredible people this month! First it was my mom's birthday on the 8th, as well as ~xzxDEMONxzx, then on the thirteenth it was our love Nadja's (=Ponytail's) birthday! Shame on all of you who missed it!! ~caroro's was yesterday and I just got over to her page to say Happy Birthday today, and ...it's 'Manda's birthday tomorrow. Sorry I haven't managed to scrape up any gift art for any of you guys this year.
.......and for all of you who don't know this 'Manda's birthday is two days before mine!! I'm going to be 16! So sweet sixteen I guess. I'm a tad excited, I'll get more excited when I get there, I've been around those saying about how terrible it is to age too long I was just thinking another year has gone passed...but honestly? A lot happened while I was 15 so I guess...it's all good
Last but not least (on my birthday list) is Jana!!! (*Dyun)

This past week has actually been okay! Muuuch better than the three before it... but today I'm sick again, I haven't been feeling amazingly well all week but last night I got a sore throat, didn't get to bed really early and without vitamins in pill form managed to get a killer sore throat by this morning. I have weathered all but my Spanish class so far, let's just hope I don't have to talk much.
I have a head ache, my back and specific other parts ache, my throat hurts (obviously) and I really hope I won't be worse tomorrow. This is how all my other sicknesses have started out but maybe it'll be different this time. *sigh* I can hope. I really should work tomorrow. Take care guys, don't get sick...I know several of you who have been sick lately, maybe I caught it over the internet

Another bleh week to report. I'm really exhausted. I was up late Sunday night, slept in Monday, worked from 3pm to 3am (2nd shift) Monday - Tuesday with my dad and brother at an office building (it was a carpet job). Then slept until 11am today (Tuesday) and worked at the greenhouse (my real job) from 1pm-5pm. I'm really tired.
I wanted to do art tonight, after 'Manda's gorgeous inspirational sneak peek. I'm not sure if I'm up to it or not, I'll give it a try.. I'm working all day tomorrow (8am-4pm or 5pm) since I have this entire week off school. I'll be gone on Thursday and Friday I have to myself. Saturday I'm working a full day again. I'm normally too tired to do much when I get home from work...

Just exhausted in every way. Not my normal cheery self I suppose, sorry

This past week was not quite what I had imagined it was going to be. I worked 9-5 Thursday, Friday and Saturday (we had company Sat night and played games and had a wonderful meal). Sunday I ended up being exhausted (physically and emotionally) so it really was a pretty hard morning, however the day turned out very wonderful, it was quite a nice change. Monday I got up at 4:30 and got home around 6pm or 7pm. I had a sore throat, and was terribly exhausted yesterday I was better, today IÂm a bit sicker but not really sick, just a worse sore throat. I should be okay as long as I rest, drink lots of water and keep taking vitamins. I was able to get rid of some extra layers and combine a few on Manyu and my computer (with only two other windows open and three programs running) saved the changes in less than 120 seconds! Instead of 10 to 20 minutes. So yes that means IÂm doing art again, but IÂm still very tired.
I had to get that journal off of my front page, what would possess a person to put a 100 question survey after a five paragraph journal entry? I have no idea.

Lastly... my dearest love Ash just posted the best quiz ever invented. I hope she doesn't mind me doing it... It's only five 'questions' long, and I have stolen it from her because it's extremely thoughtful and encouraging. I love you all and if I had the time, I would make a section for each of you. I could fit most of you into the love and admire section, but I had to choose. Decisions are so hard

Amanda, no question about it; she is positive, sweet, thoughtful, and always has something uplifting and kind to say. Besides that she is incredibly generous and always makes me feel important. Yeah so here's the deal. In the U.S. we have 12 grades, 4 of them are in highschool. My school requires 21 credits to graduate. 4 English, 4 History, 3 Math, 3 Science, 2 Fine Arts, 1 Health, 1 Physical Education, and 3 and 1/2 electives. That's for my school personally. 72 recorded Physical Education hours = 1/4 credit. Anyway, I figured out that if I do 2 and 1/2 credits over the summer and take on American Lit, World History, Chemistry, Algebra 2 and an extra history class next year as well as Advanced Spanish (AP Spanish serves as a super advanced Span 4 in my school), and regular Phys Ed I can graduate from 11th grade instead of staying around for 12th.

I think I'm going for it. I'll be a lot busier, Chem is harder than Bio (my teacher is super easy too ). Algebra 2 will be harder for me than Geometry (I like geometry). My history class this year is pretty easy too, doubling up on history may be a little rough. Advanced Spanish is going to kill without having a teacher, I have to take it on my own... in my school Spanish 3 is quite difficult and we learn things that don't even get taught in Spanish 4 in the traditional schools. We don't have a Spanish 4, but instead have this on-your-own type class that, uh, well...it's designed to score you a 5 on an AP exam. Which is like crazy. I think with a lot of studying I could pull this year off but I'm waiting for my old music teacher to get back to me about some stuff I need for a music credit (something got switched with the form so I may be a credit short, where I already should have gotten it worked out)...long story. Anyway. Less time for art or dA. Joy! Yeah as it is I'm too lazy to do art but I guess I'll probably go crazy with no TIME for it.

It's a lot to think about. Right now I'm working 9-5 at the greenhouse over spring break. Not the most relaxing way to spend my long awaited time off I also have to take my huuuge super hard spanish test by next wed. *sigh* I need to study. And I get to see my best friend from school on Monday at a volleyball tournament (I don't play, but she does and a friend who lives close to me does so I'm getting a ride with him to see her. ) I'll have to get up around 4am.

I find it rather bewildering to realize that it's halfway through March already... it's the fourteenth!! (okay so technically halfway through tomorrow would be the middle of the month) Time is going so fast!!!

I have good news. I have spent several more hours working on Manyu and the background. Added some more color, more accurate lighting, fixed his eye a bit more, and his muzzle to make him look more like a white horse as opposed to a gray... and now I'm working on rocks. Just keeping myself moving so that I stay interested. A special thank you to Bron, you really helped me a lot with your comment! I think I've figured out why the cheek looked so wide... I've worked on the 'eyes' picture some more too so lots of good news for all of you who are sick of not seeing any decent art since like, November. I can't believe I haven't finished anything since then ...in addition to the progress news I have spring break Thurs through Monday next week, then at the end of March through the beginning of April I have off because of PSSA's! (It's school testing for like 4th, 7th, 8th and 11th grade for those not from the U.S.) I'll probably be working a good deal but I'm sure I'll have time for art too

In any event, I'll probably have a new WIP soon If anyone has ANY SUGGESTIONS or TIPS on how to paint rocks, details, hair, grass, sky, poofy clouds, ANYTHING AT ALL - I'm interested. Pound my head FULL of information. Help me out here people! I was adding tons of 'ointless' detail to the rock I've started and wondering if it was worth it when I remembered something dearest Sherece told me, something like 'there is no such thing as too much detail'. Well, in light of that I'll continue pouring hours into little things like pieces of grass, segments of rock, etc etc. I'm completely open for suggestions, as a matter of fact I'm begging for them so please, feel free to share

My mom was baking bread today (she has the best recipe ever, and earlier she was making rolls, for like hamburgers or sandwiches) so the house was smelling wonderful, then she suggested I make brownies for my friend's birthday tomorrow. There is a long running joke between us that I made a reply to and was going to buy something to go with it but I'm super low on money and work very few hours at the green house in a week. Anyway so I did, now the house smells ...pretty close to heaven. ( to all those who don't like chocolate) Come over and I'll make some more for us to eat!

Life is alright, it's stabling out a bit I guess. I was on a rollar coaster for a while there and have had some issues. School is ...not going to push me over the edge, it's probably not that extreme but sometimes I get to the point where I think it might. I'm lazy though, I've got a responsable concience but that's about all. My classes aren't too hard, but I don't like a bunch of my teachers (normal right?) and in my spanish three class we are learning concepts beyond what you learn in college for your required foreign language. It's great and all, just...difficult and I have trouble with some of the concepts.

Sorry I've been so dead and distant here...my last submissions before the WIP updates were at the end of January and this is the end of February. Gracious. I'm still working (or should I say again) on my pieces... Manyu mostly and some of the eyes. I haven't bothered with the really detailed one for a while. I needed a break, and refocus. I'm trying to keep up on studying my other classes too. I need a journal layout change, I may leave it go until I finish Manyu (in a few more months) and try and do some template that has to do with him. Not sure yet.

Other than that, I bought a print a lil while back from of for the horse trust fundraising project. It should be here in two weeks or something I think. I've got to invest in a frame for it... and then hang it up with my print of

1.) I've always (as long as I can remember, and I'm only 15) been in love with horses. However...there seems to be no apparent reason for this, while I live with several stables rather close, I haven't frequented them or grown up around horses at all, neither have I ridden more than a little bit, or even seen horses grazing very often. AND when I'm around them I tend to be shy and unsure of myself, just like around peopleÂ I donÂt want to do anything wrong, my confidence level is pretty low around people too. Still they come back begging me to draw them... they haunt me!!

2.) I find six arms rather frightening but sport four legs and five heads... it is rather difficult to keep myself occupied, and it takes forever to brush out my hair

3.) I love foreign culture, food, landforms, geography, people groups...but I'm very shy when it comes to meeting new people face to face, and I have this weird habit to pick up accents ........ probably rather badly. It's ridiculously annoying and I do it without thinking.

4.) I have never broken a bone, I've never been hospitalized, I almost never get sick (except when I get stressed out), I've been in lots of car accidents - I'm never the one to get hurt, but I have terrible allergies to honey bee stings and poison ivy. I can get poison ivy on the wind if itÂs been cut lately! Once I got stung on the bottom of my left foot by a honey bee and it swelled up past my knee. I got poison ivy all over my body and my face has swollen up really huge three times.

5.) I don't like games, especially board games! They drive me crazy, my favorite board game is Settlers of Catan...it's not really too much of a board game but I don't like that any more either. I'm not generalizing... I love some games but they get old after a while (normally after I win for several games in a row) ...I suppose I play the games I like too much until I'm tired of them... my friends don't appreciate that too much. I like action. I suppose I'm really just fickle but games are so annoying, maybe I'll get over it eventually. I'd just rather watch a movie or hang out and talk, games seem rather...meaningless (not saying anything about movies.... )

6.) When I was little my family (particularly my second to youngest older brother - the one who came home in december) called me crispy chicken, critter, and other...relating names... Can't tell you exactly how I earned all of them.

7.) Prayer means a great deal to me... I'm very established as to what I believe, and I believe for myself instead of just taking what my parents have fed me. I do agree with my parents though, I just had to search it out for myself. Almost everything that I believe I've spent considerable time thinking over...

8.) I'm easily cheered up by people, even working for them!! I was working at a dripping greenhouse ('Manda is sure to remember talking about this) and I actually got happier as the day progressed and I got colder and wetter. I liked when people thanked me but mostly I was cheered up as I smiled at people and helped them carry heavy plants or said... ]]>

I don't know how I'm going to get over this. Life is such a fragile thread...but how could she be gone?? For anyone who doesn't know...
is no longer with us.
I can't swallow this awful lump in my throat, or blink back the tears that are coming. She was just... so giving, so wise, so sweet, so kind. What a friend. I don't know if I knew her that well, out of all the people here, but she made me feel as if I was really important to her. And she made me journal CSS (this CSS).

Rest in peace my dearest Sherece. You made the world so much of a better place.

My new computer arrived Friday (it came Thursday, but we were gone so they had to come back the next day) by FedEx and I was sort of dissapointed. For one thing, I've kept my computer in good shape... this one the front is sorta pushed in (the floppy drive is crooked, the power button goes twice as far in as it should and get's stuck on a weird angle) however, it works fine. And my other computer had the loudest fan in the history of man-kind. The fan on this one isn't actually as loud as I thought at first and it's not such a bad thing, it runs faster, has a better virus scan, and more space.

I'm actually on it now. What? Yeah I'm serious, apparently our net monitoring program thing hasn't decided dA is that bad a site. I'm sure it will catch on (that's what I've heard from other people at my school) but for now I'm safe. I'll try and catch up on all those deviations and journals but expect it to take a while.

I'm hopefull now. I have to finish a contest entry (my first!) for *EOtH ...she needed entries so I agreed to try, unfortunately I haven't even started on the second half of the first part. It's due by Valentines day, I'm not sure how I'll make it, this virus thing really threw me off. I need some valentines for this party thing I'm having with some friends and to finish homework yet tonight as well as some cleaning. For the first time in a while though, I am excited to do art... I sort of was dragging myself down with it and tend to stress and obsess rather than enjoy it. Perhaps I'm learning.

Mini update. I'm sick. Yeahhh haven't thrown up but I got a sore throat last night etc and so I figured I've caught the bug fair and square (all the schools in my area are sending people home left and right for being sick, and my sister goes to public school) anddd I'll have to work it off. I don't normally get sick unless I'm stressed (which I have been) but with a bunch of vitamins and some other pills and what-not (all completely safe promise) I'm actually pulling out of it quickly! Or so I hope. Anyway, further absense from dA will be caused by this and has been. *EOtH I am working on my dragon half now it's just really...hard I've never even attempted a dragon before. I just ate lunch and I think it will actually stay down! It's also snowing, so love to you all and byes for now.

Yes. My computer is doing funky things, my tool bar disappears and no amount of coaxing will get it to re-appear. Tons of pop ups from places I've never heard of come up when I'm not even surfing the web. That is my school computer (in case you don't know I'm a high school student attending cyber school, if you have questions about it, ask). That is also the computer I use for dA and all my art and photo editing.

It was a big mess trying to back up things because our home computer (the one I am on right now) got infected... it was just spy ware I think though and we got it off (I believe). The major problem with my computer is that everything that I do involves being online other than Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Solitaire (which I play when I am procrastinating doing something or waiting for something to load or download). That means I can't do any school on my school computer which forced me to kick my family off of this computer.

So I called technical support, left a message on Friday got called back this morning between classes (gotta love tech people, this one was really nice, smart and considerate). I haven't lost anything yet, I have found numerous Trojan virus's etc and over 20,000 spy ware things. The new computer is getting her in a couple of days and I'll transfer some things. My computer is 7 or 8 years old, I've had it for 4? years so far. *sigh* I hope it all works out, I've been really stressed this weekend about it and freaked out about missing classes and such.

After such an explanation, sorry about being behind guys, I'm doing art on my computer, it's just going really slow (the computer). Thanks for all the critique and comments while I've been gone as well as 's and 's! I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

Okay wow. I umm...did some adjustments with my err... monitor display and I can definately tell a difference. I did a gamma adjustment. Well, it's much better, I guess that shows how bad it was (or how good an imagination I have)!

Also, I've barely done any art. I'm still working on finals, papers, double tests, etc and low on inspiration.

Hey all! I'm sorta back. I didn't get any art done at all, very sorry about that. I've actually been really busy and today I'm doing more finals and home work despite the fact it is a national holiday (Martin Luther King Day) and there isn't any school.

2 Years!

As of Jan 18, at 1:49 PM (Friday last week) I've been on deviantART two years. I would have thought longer...but it's only been since 2006. This account I've only been at since August but I've been part of the community since the beginning of 2006.

I'll get to my messages shortly. I do love comments! They're my favorite most of the time. Miscellaneous are encouraging...just...time consuming and not a lot of fun to reply to. Do you actually like getting messages on your front page thanking you? I know for some it's totally annoying. For me, I like hearing from people, since I really haven't been commenting a lot lately it's nice to get a thanks anyway. Thankfully I only have 46 Deviations, I had them pretty low before I left.

I have finally come to terms with the fact that starting many new projects just doesn't work when you're trying to finish something.

I'm amazing aren't I? lol

Anyway. I have been working on Manyu recently...

(for those who do not know who or what Manyu is : Character Info | WIP 1)

He's coming along nicely, but painfully slow. I'm putting too much unnessisary detail in...and frankly, I'd rather it looked like a painting probably. Yeah. So I've spent several hours and am only now deciding I'm about 2/3 rd's of the way done with the head. I refuse to rush it, because I know that would be deadly, but I think there must be a more efficient way to paint so I'm looking for it. And I lightened that eye too. Now it's much more realistic.

Other than that I do appologize for the attrocious green color of the background, it's going. Yuck. And I sketched out the background, I think when I get tired of tiny little details, I will switch to working on it...though I tend to work very hard on this background instead of ...well you know, like Ansam's background.

Thanks for all the support! And thanks for tolerating my photography submissions. I just have to submit something and I miss the snow and ice. ....... on a last note, I also want a new icon. I plan on making one from Manyu or some piece when I'm finished unless someone has another suggestion. Thanks again to ~Embers who kindly made this one for me.

I did actually mention introducing her two journal's ago but ran into some trouble because #1 I forgot that I mentioned that myself, and she didn't have anything in her gallery so I really wanted to wait to feature her! Well now she does!!

Though I don't want to sound like a broken record, my thoughts mimic those of *south-wind and =Ponytail rather closely concerning 2007.

This year I can honestly say has been the hardest of my life. I've thought back and wondered several times if this really could be true, concerning all the other years. One year rises out of the rest but still dims in comparison.

On a lighter note I can also say in this year some of the best things that have ever happened to me occurred. I met not one, but two best friends this year. We are still in contact and I trust them... that in itself is incredible. I also lost all the friends from my life growing up except for one guy friend and my sister.

This year has been very rough. I am typically a healthy person, but this year IÂve gotten very sick several times because of how stressed IÂve been. However, I've realized as I've been growing through the pain and hard times that... for gold to be pure and precious, it has to be refined in the fire. For diamonds to be true they have to withstand terrible pressure! One of my friends reminded me of this, a sort of plea for me to keep holding on. If I had given up IÂd be in a totally different place!! Today I'm happy to say I did hang on. I listened. I didn't give up and I have one that will never let me down. I know because they should have long ago when I was ignoring them for so long, AND I'm not depressed. As a matter of fact I'm joyful! Especially right now, I know I can make it another year!

Also, as several people remarked, art wise this year has also been one of great growth! Do you guys remember D u s k? Wow. That was my first piece of this year... I've done more artwork this year than I ever have and it's drastically improved. I must thank you here on deviantART for that highlight in my year. I never dreamt of this at the beginning of 2007.

With that, I'll close. Goodbye 2007... Welcome to 2008!

Okay as much as I love all the stuff you did for me...guys, um I had to get that off of my front page! It was so long and ugly.

With that in mind...umm, HAPPY NEW YEAR! like...3 days early!

Sorry about the random-not-much-quality submissions. I just...uhh. Decided to do that? Rediculous. Sorry it was inconsiderate. Anyway I'm currently working on that graphite drawing...it's coming quite nicely!

And for my second part...where do you get your prints made? For your artwork? I had some trouble getting the cat commission I just finished printed. I never did see the final print as the commissioner picked it up. We were forced to use Wal-Mart's picture services. I wouldn't do that again if possible. They're really not...the type I'm really impressed with. I also tried Staples, which was a complete loss as they'd just printed several hundred calendar's and the machine's needed servicing...etc. Do you order them from an online store?

If you have your own printer I'd love to know the paper and printer you have. This is for REALLY high quality prints...

Keep in mind, I'm in the U.S.

It came as a great surprise a little while ago...I was answering messages and miscellaneous and all...when I decided to check how many 's Ansam had. I mean...it's been like, a lot of messages about her, so I checked and I had 99!! Okay so that's really surprising with all that terrrrriiiibbblee grass and background! And now, I have 101!

That's quite a nice Christmas present!

As for Christmas itself...I got a package from my love *moodymand. I was excited...out of my mind is more accurate, before I had even opened it. I'd take a picture of it...to show you but I'm planning on framing it so I haven't been able to yet! It's a print of

Let's just say that was an amazing present! And there was more too! A smaller print of the same and she supplied that small pad of Bristol board that I put on my christmas wishlist! DeviantART people never cease to amaze me. How can there be so many sweet people out there??

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Yes, I thought I'd wait until Christmas but I decided the probability of my mom letting me on Christmas day was a little too low to bet on it. I was also going to wait until I finished my christmas...piece...yes I have one. It's just a headshot, and it's close to being finished, but not quite yet! I put Manyu aside to work on that along with the cat commission...but neither are quite finished yet!!

Also about the cat commission, you guys are wonderful! You know who you are. I cannot believe all that you've poured in to help me, that's really amazing. Sorry for being all like...sappy about it, and keeping asking I'm so afraid to be wrong!
