Finally! It is here. After months of hard work I am proud to say that we can release all our new content on the planned date! But, more importantly, I am proud at my team of artists and administrators for their amazing collaborative efforts to make all of this happen. Therefore I would like to thank our team of artists who have together worked hard to realize 'Genesis'. This exhibit became a new milestone for The Luminarium and this is how our artists approached it. Quality, that is what we focused on more then ever, and I think we succeeded!

For our Development team these past months were months of hard and long work hours. After months of brainstorming about the new interface, designing elements and going over concepts for new features, the hard work is finally over. With tons of ideas still stuck in our heads we will always be busy, improving the new V3 and expanding our ways of communication and interaction. I would personally like to thank John Keech, our webmaster, who has done an amazing job and made it possible for us to realize our ideas. A thanks also goes out to Alastair Temple, my co-founder, who has been with us since the beginning of the group and someone who I can't see The Luminarium without. Last but not least I thank Alex Fralin, also one of my co-founders but above all a core member of the group. It is easy to say that Alex played a huge part in making The Luminarium to what it is today. His design, his ideas and his dedication makes me realize how lucky we are to have him.

And now without further ado, Today The Luminarium gives you its 8th exhibit "Genesis" but more importantly to us, its best exhibit to date. In this release you will find breathtaking artwork that showcases its stunning submissions of our imagination of the "beginning of existence" in a collection of visual & musical work that continues to push the boundaries of our journey as a group of inspired and motivated artists. The art presented in this exhibit will showcase the theme 'Genesis' in a fresh and meaningful way to give you new insight on the possibilities and imaginations of modern day art.

Our latest exhibit features another great artist. While he is still brand new to the group, we still feel his dedication and hard work for this exhibit is a wonderful example of the pride we have in our artists. Reverie

For a while now The Luminarium has been fairly quite towards it's public. Of course this was not without reason! Because The Luminarium has been working overtime behind the scenes on it's brand new V3! We are proud to present our gift to you guys, a brand new re-coded and designed platform with tons of new features and possibilities that will bring the team and it's community to new heights.
To get you guys all warmed up for this great update we prepared a little teaser with some more information about the release.

For this new version of The Luminarium we had tons of new ideas we wanted to accomplish and incorporate into our existing website. Our development team created a new Luminarium that is more dynamic, interactive and exciting and after a few months of hard work we can easily say that we have accomplished almost all of the ideas we had in mind and created a new Luminarium that we will only see grow and progress in the future. The reason for starting almost from scratch and trying to re-build our website is simple: we wanted to expand and our current database setup did not give us enough options to grow with us. Now we hope we can give the community and our artists more options and features to interact and communicate to make The Luminarium the most exciting art source on the web! In just a few days you can experience The Luminarium V3 yourself, so hang in there and prepare for a new Luminarium!

White Swan earns a Daily Deviation today! Im really stoked that this project is getting some big attention and is gaining some recognition. It was an incredible amount of work that was done by the whole team so I'm happy people recognize it!

Today the brand new video clip from director Sil van der Woerd was released to the public through his personal website and youtube! This means: upload time for me too! I will upload my dA gallery with some of the shots I worked on (I just uploaded one of the concept pieces I have done for the video) and show you some concept art aswell.

So now that you've seen it, liked it?

I worked very intensly for several months with a very talented crew to realize the directors idea. It was my first real production experience and it was fun! My job was to handpaint all the cotton candy you see in the environment in the video, some set extensions and some larger matte paintings. My work was used in 18 final shots and to see it on screen finally makes me happy!

ps. There has been a big premiere party and event the 11th and Sil and some other people(including me)presented a little walkthrough of the project. Be sure to monitor CGChannel since it will be uploaded there! I'll post the link here to when it will be online!

Finally the teaser website is online (visit for the teaser: [link]) ! For over half a year now I've been working on this video clip from director Sil van der Woerd and production is coming to an end. This week the teaser website went online and you can check out the teaser clip and some tasty stills from the project. I guarantee you, what you see on that website is just the tip of the iceberg. Defenately keep your eye on this project!
It will premiere the 11th and later that week I will upload my gallery with some stills of shots I worked on. It will be an exiting month with a Gnomon presentation and gallery opening for the project! If you live in LA defenately stop by!

I am responsible for almost all the matte painting in this video clip and I did a lot of concept work for it. It was a great experience and something I will not forget. After all, what's better then spending your time being creative and creating cool imagery. Not a whole lot.

Secondly I just came back from New York! It was a great trip and I have seen so many new things! New York is a crazy place, people who live in Manhattan and read this: how do you do it! I would never be able to live in Manhattan, its just 24/7 circus! Great to visit and sightsee but a week was as long as I would like to be there haha!

It's also almost my one year art anniversary! Next week, it's been one year since I made my very first piece. It cracked me up when I saw it a few days ago. Really, it's beyond ugly. I'm very proud at the progress I've made this past year and I can only say thank you to those who helped or inspired me along the way. Introduction

CSS JOURNAL

Welcome to my new Journal! I've finally got a subscription, so that means CSS journals, yeah. In the future I'll make a perfect one but for now this works fine right? Thanks to =taenaron, =gucken for some CSS help!

SCOLARSHIP

So I'm in my final year of school (Academy for Art Direction) and I will be a Junior Art Director at the beginning of next summer if everything is going to plan. After graduation I'm planning to move to San Fransisco to study at the Academy of Art University. But, things like that are very expensive. So I'm looking hard for a scolarship. Does anyone know a good program that I can try to qualify for?

PROJECT GOD

I'm working on this project for quite a while now.. but I'm getting there. When I started with the project my plan was to make a short demo reel out of it. But with time passing I realized that I could do something more personal and inspiring with this project. So I decided to change the whole concept: I'm now making a little 'book'. The paintings I'm doing will illustrate the feeling of the book. I finished the first painting and working on my second (you can see a sneek preview of that one in the banner of my journal!).

So now comes the part that I need your help! Because there will be no story in the book.. but quotes and inspiring sentences that you can come up with or come accross! So I ask you guys now to help me out and gather as much of this inspiring stuff as you can! Just comment it on this journal or sent me a note. ps: if the quote is not your's please credit the name of who said it.

Some sentences that will be in the book as example:
Be nice to everyone you meet, it might be the person you're looking for.
Dreams that do come true can be as unsettling as those that don't.
Dreams are everywhere, we just need to notice them.

BURNING-LIQUID

Besides my work on Project God I'm doing a collaboration work with my friend =Burning-Liquid. This project consists of a few animated matte paintings inserted in live footage. There still needs alot of work to be done so we'll keep you guys updated!
