And then I had an idea, I'm gonna draw on them and send them out to internet friends who I know.

So now I need people to ask for them. So... if anyone wants one, I need a PM/note/e-mail with "Please send me a postcard" (or something to that effect) and your address. =3

In other news my tablet has basically packed up entirely now, so I need to replace that. Naturally this happens right as I finally get an illustration project at uni... =/

I need to do some other upgrades on my PC too... RAM, Motherboard, graphics card and possibly even the processor... so potentially everything other than the hard disk, which may also fail anyway.

I've also had a few chances to get out climbing, which has been fantastic. (Finally added a few routes to my UCK logbook.)

Getting on real rock was a great (if painful) experience (grit, ow.). Though I'll admit, I can't wait to get back on the wall next month, I'm so out of practice. o.o

And my Neomag entry is done and sent, so I just have to hope that something comes of it, (here is where I make the assumption the postal service got it there on time... Postal strikes... grr...) the prize is kinda cool. (And the exposure won't hurt either.)

I'm gonna have a go at this year's blogathon. I have a charity and everything.

So basically I have to stay up for 24 hours starting from 2pm on Saturday, and make a blog post every half-hour to prove I'm still awake.

My mum suggested this charity called "CRY" who raise awareness of things like Sudden Death Syndrome and other heart-related illnesses in young people and y'know what? Their website phrases it so much better, so... go there and give it a lookie. ^_^

And then sponsor me? Please? (I think you'll have to login to sponsor me... but... it's for a good cause..?)

The posts will be at Way of the Scribbling Ninja, since it's that blog I'm signed up through.

What I'm thinking of doing is, half-hour sketches (now that my scanner is up and running again). So basically I come up with a theme and draw a sketch on that theme, which I upload. (And yes, I'd love it if people could suggest some.)

I finally finally finally managed to pull together a plan for my Neo manga contest entry. *glee* Now I just hafta draw it up full size and neat, and post it off before Friday.

Right... best get to it then...

In other news, I went climbing the other day, for the first time in... about six months. And... I fail at teh climb, omg... I couldn't even do the first move on this crag, it was like, the first good hold was a good 3 inches above my hand at full stretch and standing on the higest possible hold.

I was not impressed. And my fingrs were all sore because all the callouses that had built up to protect them have basically gone, and... ow... yea...

Aaaand~ I'm finally making some progress on the essay-of-suck. So that's a good start... I'd hoped to have it finished by this weekend, but we'll see... =/

And my tablet's bust. See, a few weeks back my mum was fixing my PC and she broke one of the USB sockets... and my tabet was plugged into said socket at the time... and it's only now after I've spent weeks hunting for/re-installing the drivers that I notice the end of the cable is blocked by socket-bits.

Yey.

Still, maybe this will be that excuse to upgrade I've been waiting for.

Oh, and Deathly Hallows for the win! (Uh, potential comment-spoilers..? I guess, consider yourself warned.)

OH! And, I saw the first two episodes of Heroes today. How cool is Hiro!?

Uhhh, gonna post this now, because the likelihood of me having another journal before then is almost nil. I should be coming up on 18k soon, so, whoever sends me a screenshot of that gets a request. 'Cause I'm nice like that, (plus, people ask for stuff I'd otherwise avoid drawing, so it's a nice challenge for me. )

I also have four massive A3 pics of tropical fish that need to get done for my coursework, which is a huge pain. I've never done anything on this kind of scale before so, it's gonna be interesting to see how it turns out. Good job my computer got upgraded. Otherwise they'd be impossible to do.

Although, this piece of crap computer needs some serious upgrading before I do anything too huge. At the moment it struggles with A4, which is kinda… really irritating.

So... I need you guys to tell me what you think. Assuming you could afford to, would you commission me? (And while I'm at it can you afford to?) Also, how much would you be willing to pay for say, an A4 coloured picture with a full background, which would be printed and shipped to you?

So, it's been a pretty eventful few weeks, despite that none of it has seemed worthy of posting about, but oh well, here goes anyway.

Had a cool Christmas, got a DS game ("Lost in Blue" - good game and very difficult.) and a Doctor Who calender and some paints, some books, some biscuits, uhhh, two Studio Ghibli films and a picture, hehee.

I also got a lovely classical guitar 'casue my Wii didn't turn up. (January 24th now.) So now I just hafta learn to y'know... play it.

Oh! And a chalk bag and a belay tube.

New Year was entirely uneventful, watched the Hootenanny and my brothers played guitar and I was on the internet by 12:04, lol.

Found a chinese resteraunt with the coolest notice on the table though. "Please tip your waitress, although it is a self-service restauraunt they still bring your drinks and clean up your crr... ockery when you leave the table." ... Well, I thought it was funny.

Hehe, I got "Dr Kawashima's Brain Training" on my DS.

It's so cool! Uhh, but my maths skills suck. And the Sudoku is weirdly addictive. Heh, my brain age is currently 54... probably I should work on that huh...

Uhhh, I go back to uni tommorow, being at home is nice but I think I'll appreciate the peace and quiet.

Ohh! I went to the opticians yesterday. I hafta get glasses... not really sure what my opinion on the matter is at this point. On the one hand, I really really do not have the face for glasses, on the other, the headaches I've been getting since August are not caused by stress (at least not entirely) or something worse.

They are quite nice glasses though, the frames are purple and bendy, and they have anti-scratch stuff on the lenses, so even I should have a hard time damaging them. And I do love purple. ^__^

Can't wait to get climbing again, D: plus the club hoodies should have arrived by now.

And the main thing I wanted to post about (small though it currently is), is that I'm going to start getting serious about my art. People think I have some talent (mainly my family, I'll admit) and I'd sorta like to go somewhere with it. I'd love to be an illustrator and now that I have some encouragement in the matter I figure it can't be impossible. And hey, what do I have to lose..?

Will post those 10 people next entry, I promise! (I know, I'm a terrible procrastinator. D

I’m pretty sure I screwed up one module but given I wasn’t even expecting to submit it this time last week I wouldn’t be too dissapointed if I have failed it.

Needless to say, I plan to spend the next few days vegging and playing Silkroad/Maple Story. And possibly watching anime.

Had two christmas socials last week, The Karate Club went for a chinese-all-you-can-eat (again). I had Chocolate Marshmallows! (Again) Also went for a roast dinner with the climbing club, we had “special” party poppers, (someone removed the streamers and filled them with flour and cocoa powder and pepper) and we had a pass-the-parcel, so I now have more Swizels Matlow lollies than I know what to do with, lol. And I won an award. Go me!

Now, time to get to work on getting me websites/requests/etc finished off. Eep. ._.

It's weird though, it's finally starting to feel like christmas, the coca ola christmas ads are on (I only just noticed they don't start til december, everyone else starts at like, the end of friggin October lol) and Classic FM were playing Christmas Carols last week. ^o^

I have done something, but I gather that devART has a few issues with uploading coloured covers from manga scans, so I'm not uploading it here, lol. I coloured the cover of chapter 294 of "Naruto" (the un-masked Kakashi) so if anyone wants to see it (and the desktop I also made from it) you can see it at my blog.

On a side (and somewhat related) note, does anybody know what the hell [link] is all about? See, according to my handy-dandy Matrixstats, they (or someone using them) is sponging one of the images from my blog. Should prolly stop that... >.>

Anyways! Expect some art soon, got a couple of really cool things on the way, if I can just figure out decent backgrounds for them. I really suck at backgrounds.

[rant]So... what's with all this "fake friends" crap... I mean, what you think if I don't copy/paste some pointless piece of drivel into my journal (which btw doesn't really take a lot of effort anyway and therefore proves nothing) then I am a "fake friend" and you will delete me from your watch. Y'know what, Go ahead, if that's how you decide who is your friend and who is just looking to get watched, then that's your problem, not mine.

For the record, if you'll take a look at my gallery stats, you'll notice a few things...
"She watches 869 people, while 166 people watch her." Now... that's a lot of people I watch and not a lot watching back. Do I care? Not really. Am I whining about it? No. Now... if I were only addig people to get pageviews and watches, I woudn't still be here 2 years on, would I..?

"This means that she gave 15 comments for every 10 that she received." Exactly what I said above... I give a lot of comments, and usually constructive ones too, (as opposed to "cool" or a single smilie) Ever hear of quality over quantity folks..? I'd rather get ten comments of the type I get from people like *Faulken and ~MindCraft then 1000 people saying "OMFG KEWL1111" Take my point.

So grow the hell up already. My God.I've seen some really dumb/annoying chain comments and fads around here, but this has to be the lamest.

I mean the tagging, to it's merit, at least hads a purpose. I mean who starts these things, really? [/rant]

I just thought I'd give my userpage an overhaul for the new year, so I have a new ID (with vector art by ~JimmiLeRock), new Desktop Screenshot (Desktop made by ~Saint-Sephiroth) I'm considering updating my Featured Deviation andAvatar, but I kinda like the ones I have. The main reason for updating the desktop and ID were that the previous ones had been there for nearly as long as I've been on DA(which isn't exactly a short time).

I also plan on actually getting a proper websiteup and running (and actually updating it, *legasp* so the button at the top of the page wil lnot only be changed bu twill actually go somewhere (or, some where worth going, rather), good eh?

Ho hum. So...
I actually made some proper resolutions this year, and with the intention of keep (most of) them.
1.Stop procrastinating, get organised and what ~aboutpaula would describe as “get a brain.”
2. Eat better, more regularly, and less Micro Noodles. (No more starve til 3am and then binge on junkfood)
3. Get off my backside and write a manga.
4. Learn to script. <<< I make that last one realising it will probably never happen.

I've made a weeny little dent in my huge request list, but with the 4k out of the way the rest should come a LOT faster, wohoo!

This also leaves me sometime to get started on... other things. Haha. *not saying what.*

And that won't be until uni starts and I can do it on the sly in scripting.

I intend to use the time to get my RSOM entry done, as well as all of my requests, and maybe get my website finished.

The worst part is, I'm gonna miss out on all the post-Naruto-dub-debut gossip, possibly the end of the filer eps of the Naruto subs, and (worst of all) Revolution Day! (OHNOES!)

For the non-initiated, Revolution Day, aka 16th Septemer, is when Nintendo will hopefully release some info about the revolution. Of couse I will be back in lectures by then, so I should be able to find out a li'l bit.

I'm also entering another contest in Neo Magazine. They want thier readers to design a mascot for thier awards, and the winner gets thier design on the trophies, and a table at the wawrds... of course, they're also getting someone from Sweatdrop Studios to re-draw the winning entry, which isn't so good. But hey, exposure is exposure, right?

Also, the awards are on the night of the MVM Expo, which I'm hoping to get to. Why the Hell does everything have to be in London all the time!? >O

Truth is, at this moment in time... I'm not sure who to trust... The actions of the admins haven't exactly won my trust, but then I don't know all of the facts...

Either way, removing Jarks control of something he helped to create and put 5 years of his life into... seems kinda wrong, for many reasons. There'd have to be a HUGE justification for something like that, but Jark doesn't seem capable of doing anything quite that bad. (Not that I know him all that well, or at all, for that matter)

I will probably take part `onestars day of posting only comments and not any deviations, but that's because, regardless of the situation between Jark and Spyed, (which is what this all boils down to in the end) The community spirit is somewhat... lacking... Some people don't think the community went anywhere, but then, I guess if you have a few thousand watchers you don't really notice the people who struggle and work and spend hours on a picture to have it not even get viewed. (This affects a few of the people I watch, rather than me personally.)

And then there's the flamers, the art thieves, and the mountains of totally shameless self-promtion (don't get me wrong, I love to plug as much as the next person, but you gotta give a little y'know.)

Yea... I've been thinking about this situation all day and I'm no closer to any answers. So I'm gonna sit up here on my nice comfy fence.

So yeah... my friend has this really big kite (four and a half metres) and... it lifts him and my boyfriend about two feet off the gound. (Not all at once, obviously) anyways... the wind died down a litte and they let me have a go.

Six feet into the air and the length of a cricket pitch... O.o THEN I remember the saftely brake... and fall... and... I don't quite remeber how I landed but I've somehow bruised my arm and my leg...

I also broke my neck... a flake off my third vertibrae down... so I've spent the last two days in one of those collars (I can now take it off when I'm not travelling/ in the car or whatever)

I'm told I shouted 'WHOOO-HOOOOOO' so I must've enjoyed it no?

On another note. I've had something of a rough week computer-wise.

First my dear mother managed to delete my profile on my PC. Meaning my drive had to be formatted. I've lost, four websites, tons of images, al my music, Roms, freewares, and the Klik games I was working on.

Sorry Guys, the DBA RPG is on hold, and Mokko's Adventure is nwow looking at the END of Summer 2004, rather than the start.

I've also had to redo the same college breif THREE TIMES. Fortunatly I didn't loose too much of it.

Of course I now have a shiny new Windows Office and a virus-free hard drive. YAY! ^_^

Then we got the network working, kinda. Only to discover that Wanadoo are being pedatic, so I'm stuck on a 14K TescoNet dial-up for the next two weeks (as of last Wednesday) Kinda of annoyng since the net was the reason for the networking, Which is how my profile came to be removed, etc, etc, ad infinitum.

Then we put the DVD drive into my PC (YAY! I hear you cry)... and blew out the prcessor. So Iv'e downgraded (not by choice) from a 1.3 to a 1.1. -_-;

And I'm stuck on the Dial-up on a crappy ME system with a resolution of 800x600.

And the Installation disk for the scanner has disapeared so I can't even get my pictures on line. Not that I'd wanna try at 14K.

I got leant the Cowboy Bebop Movie this week. It's good. VERY good. Ed is just priceless, (as usual). Cool animation, GREAT story. Just get it. And watch it.

I've joined yet another club

as well as forming one of my own. The Deviant Klikers, for Deviant of the Klik persuasion.

I've also seen 'Cheaper By The Dozen' this week. Hilarious film, great story. (Three siblings is more than enough for me.)

First I find out that my tutor (the most inspirational guy I know) is leaving my college because he's not happy with the mistreament of our course. By 'Mistreatment,' I mean that the bigwigs at the top are misusing our funding, broken and stolen equipment is not being replaced, or rooms are being given away left, right and centre and the whole thing is being hidden from the governers. The suits seem to think that a Media/Multimedia department can function with 5 (broken) DV cams between 50 people.
Still, 'homo illigitenum nil carberundum.' or whatever...

Uh.. what else..? Oh yeah, I meanged to fall down the stairs the other day, very dumb thing to do. (not to mention painful) I slid about halfway down on my back, so I have a nice big graze there now, and a long one on my arm.

I saw 'The Day After Tommorow' on Friday. Most amazing, it really does kick much arse. ^_^ I spent about half the film hanging onto s hand. Go see it. It's a great film.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is out this Monday too, that's gonna be great, I can't wait to see it. The dementors are sooo scary... O_o

I have a new avatar, and my Dev Id is up (at last) I've also joined two clubs, The Uchiha Clan and The Kurot Fans. I'm still waiting for The Megatokyo Fanclub to get back to me. *CoughHintHintCough*

Ugh, and I saw this TV show last night too, Dispatches... gross,goss,gross,gross... It was about the quality of Hospital food in the NHS, one of the factories that produces NHS food had worse hygene standards than a Mconalds store run almost entirely by wannabe-gangster-drunken-lout-scalies! I hope I never need to actually EAT hospital food... YIKES!

Artwise, this week has been... odd, the majority of my sketches are NOT turning out the way I want them to, AT ALL... I get these pictures in my head and then I have to draw them, but they never work quite right, although I do have a few peices I'm proud of (some of which I have yet to upload) I also have an illustration of the Beatles song 'Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds' I have by boat, my river, and my cellophane flowers... unfortunately I have no tangerine trees, though there is a hint of a marmalade sky. I'm really proud of that one, it's not going anywhere near the web until I have it perfect.
