I have been touched by the idea and entries thus far and would like to support it by featuring it in my journal.

This club, I feel, reaches all levels of the community from painters to photographers and so on. It's not about a technique, or about a theme, it's based on meaning, perception and that raw emotional feeling we get from art, and why most of us make it in one form or another.

But I think it's better if the club's admin explains this.

This is a community dedicated to collecting art that means a lot -- art that goes kaboom inside you.

What we want is the art that you find too important or too touching or maybe even too disturbing to explain.

You know what it is about. The art that leaves you speechless. When you view it, it changes who you are. At that point the language and the thought you've learned so far is not enough. You might feel something completely new.

And when you create art like that, you can only pray that it will reach someone. It cannot be forced.

It's true, at first I was just simply overly swamped with work. My new job is taking some getting used to, and is difficult for me to leave behind when I come home at night.

Then I started painting my bedroom because it was really disgusting and needed it, so my computer had to be removed and unused for a couple weeks. Once that mess was done I set out to straighten my life out, and began hooking up ye old compy. However, not but 10 minutes into getting reaquainted with my buddy, tradgedy struck! *dun dun dun* My processor(or the processor cooling unit) blew off my motherboard and spiraled down the chassy in a wave of destruction and despair. Oh, the slaughter! On the plus side, the data on my harddrives remains unharmed, so all my .psd's are fine and dandy.

So now I have no compy. I get on my Husband's to check email and ect when he's not on it, but I don't have any substantial amount of time. It's not big deal about the compy, since I was going to replace her in a month anyways, but that means I still have to wait a month for a computer because I am a slave to my budget.

Please don't feel forgotten or ignored because of my long absence, and I'm sorry for not stating my long delay sooner. I will post again when I have my new computer set up and ready to get back in the swing of my secret art life. In the meantime I will attempt to go through that daunting 952 deviations I see before me.

Thank so much for first, hosting the contest, and doing all this work. I've been so completly uninspired in months and this really brought something out of me, and i appreciate that a great deal!

Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I'm so completely shocked. All the entries are so AMAZING that I never imagined to even place. Everyone did a fantastic job and each work submitted will always be an inspiration to me for years to come.

And thank you to all the donators it's because of your generosity that these wonderful contests can take place on DA and we are able to see such beautiful pieces from our fellow artists.

While the donations and prizes were wonderful they feel like just a bonus to the happiness I felt when I realized so many people viewed my work and enjoyed it!

On a more personal note:
I've started my new job and will probably be bogged down with it for weeks to come. I also have to restart my workout routine or I fear these love handles will evolve into something far more pant-splitting. please do not feel offended if I do not get to your work in a reasonable amoutn of time, I WILL get to it eventually!!
Also the "Fall" Contest run by has inspired me to do another piece I've been working on, although I doubt I'll get it done in time to submit to the contest.

Anyhow I'll be starting a new job 5th of december so wish me luck. (and this is directly after I have one week of jury duty >.< Lets hope i will have some free time, but as with all new jobs you become consumed by them while learning. Well it's a substantial jump in pay and position at least so that's good.
Now all that remains to reserve a copy of band hero..You know after I beat Guitar hero 3 on hard more.... Yeah like that's gonna happen. If i wanted to waste that much of my time I would just learn how to play a REAL guitar.
Anyhow I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving, and eats themselves to near death at least once a year. I think I'll make lasgana for my contribution, that way i can prep days in advance and freeze yay for italian dishes.

The scetches are comic book/mangaish inspired from both, but with my own style thrown in(as it should be).
My biggest goal over the next few months will be to try and merge my scetching style with my CG realism. This will be an experiment and any criticism will be greatly appreciated.
Sorry that I don't have alot of time, real life takes over and refuses to let me do art, which unfortunatly is only a hobby for me even if I (and every other artist in the world) wishes we could make a living off it.

If I had a bajillion hours, I would create some rotating background wallpapaer that would change every 2 minutes or so and just pull from some national gallery.
Seeing other artists only inspires me. Although sometimes I have to admint feeling like T_T. BUT that's life.

On a random note: My Milkshake spilled all over my husband's car. I wanted that milkshake so bad too. All of it's frosty, creamy, choclatly, goodness... WASTED!
