- How many years have you cosplayed?
Hm...about...4.5 to 5..somewhere in there.

- How did you get into cosplaying?
I was going to a convention in California with my high school's Anime Club, and I heard that people usually attended in "cosplay", dressing up as Anime/Video Game characters.

- What was your first convention and how did it go?
Anime Expo 2005. It..was..FANTASTIC! AMAZING! SO overwhelming, but SO MUCH FUN!!! I was hooked instantly.

- How many cons have you been to?
Anime Expo 2005, AniZona 2006, AX 2006, Phoenix-Cactus Comicon 2006, PCC 2007, AniZona 2007 (I'm lost as far as numbers go), CopperCon somewhere in there, PCC 2008, Saboten-Con 2008, AniZona 2008???, PCC 2009, AniZona 2009, Saboten-Con 2009, various Anime Fests and gatherings...I think that's everything so far.

- How many cosplays have you done?
Oh wow...I want to say about 19? And many more to come! @.@~!

- What was your first cosplay and why did you choose it?
Rinoa Heartilly from Final Fantasy VIII. I loved the character, and the costume seemed easy enough to put together on short notice--to my mother, since I had no sewing ability whatsoever at the time XD It was and it wasn't, because there are still a lot of details and add-ons I need to sort out... @.x;

- What is your favorite cosplay you've done so far?
I loved all of the fangirls I got when I was Edward! Rinoa was my first, so she'll always be special... But so far I think my favorite has been Kallen! I haven't been cosplaying her for long, but I already have so many memories and experiences from ONE cosplay than from all my others!

- What is your least favorite you've cosplayed?
Hm...I don't think I have any. Except maybe Aya Brea, because few to NO ONE seemed to ever know who I was..

- What cosplay is the most uncomfortable?
Hm...Good question...None of them are really uncomfortable (At least not yet ; ), unless you account for weather. Example: dressing as Larxene/Vexen/Kallen in summer-weather...not the brightest idea. x.x;

- How do you research the cosplay before you make it?
I gather as many reference pictures as I can, from the series and of people actually cosplaying the character to see what it'll look like in real life, if I can. I also like to study the characters themselves. More often than not I choose a character because I like something about them, or feel a certain connection to them. It just makes it that much more enjoyable when I can actually get into character. :'D

- Do you sew your cosplays yourself?
I do now. xD I've had to feel like a child saying "My mom made it" for too long! (LOL) Or feel ashamed that I bought it.. NO LONGER! >

- If so, how did you learn to sew? If not, do you plan to learn?
From watching people, watching friends, watching my mom. And getting some first-hand lessons. It's how I learn to do most things.. >.>;

- Do you make your own props?
Nope. Still gotta ask for favors. But I would really like to learn and hopefully get the hang of it, like I have sewing...

- If so, how did you learn to? If not, do you plan to learn?
I do plan to learn!

- Do you style your own wigs?
Not yet, but I'm about to go hand to hand with that Kallen wig...You need spikes, girl!

- What other skills do you use to create your cosplays?
Sheer dumb luck?

- What skill has been most useful for making your cosplay?
Imagination! (I agree!) And a love and passion for what I'm doing. I want to awe and inspire people. It feels amazing getting compliments/appreciation for your hard work. :]

- What is the hardest thing when making a cosplay?
Making an unusual clothing item when no patterns exist. So much screws up, and you have to keep altering and altering until it's right. (Agreed, again!) Adding things, too--though I guess that counts as altering, doesn't it. @@;

- What was the biggest screw up you've had making a cosplay?
My Kallen cosplay keeps falling apart! I'm about to have to make the blasted thing all over again...MORE THREAD!
And to this day I still don't have those wings painted on Rinoa's duster. And it's too short.

My parents and I didn't have a choice--when they divorced, my father moved into a condominium where dogs of that size aren't allowed, and my mother's apartment is far too small. So we trusted them with these people.
We (Dante and I) pointed out problems to them when we visited for Daisy's 10th birthday on December 20th, and again sometime in April (specifically that Samantha's eyes were looking really cloudy), but were brushed off like it was nothing.
When we found them less than two weeks ago, Daisy was 20 pounds overweight because she hadn't been given her thyroid medication for somewhere around 5 months. Rather than take Daisy in to get groomed properly for the summer, this family tried to do it themselves. And Samantha was over 20 pounds underweight. You could see her ribs, her legs were barely strong enough to keep her standing, and she was so blind she couldn't walk around without bumping into things. Her legs were covered in sores that were split open and bleeding, and her fur was nothing like the softness I remembered.
Two days ago, 5PM, Tuesday July 3, 2007 we had to put Samantha down. She had diabetes and because nothing had been done for seven months, it was too late. She would have turned 9 years old yesterday, on July 4th.
So I'm stuck with a problem: my parents have put Daisy up for adoption through Golden Retriever rescue, and it's possible that they've already found someone...but even though she'll be better off with anywhere other than the house she's staying at now, the "rule" is that you must sever all ties. I will never be able to see her again. Daisy was given to me for my 8th birthday, so even though I want her to get out of this person's house (sorry, but I won't give names...), I don't want to lose her right after having to lose Sammy.
I know it can be expensive caring for a dog, so I have to find someone that can handle it. I need to find a friend who will love her, care for her,...who won't neglect her. She's 20 pounds overweight, as I said, but now that her medication will hopefully be regular, she'll be fine. It would certainly be best if she had a yard to run around in. She's sweet, gets along with other dogs (obviously, she was like Sammy's mother =3) and cats (she's spent her life with two--Baby [before she passed away] and Violet). She's the sweetest dog I have ever met...
I need to find someone within the next few days. I love her, and I don't want to lose her. I need anyone and everyone who even THINKS they can handle it to send me messages, call me, whatever you have to. I will decide based on information, parents' approval (mine and yours, obviously), and so on. Which is another thing: please make sure you're parents are ok with it first--assuming of course you already live on your own. I don't need to get my hopes up over nothing.
Just please contact me as soon as possible. This is serious. I need your help, everyone...
Hell, if we share friends that maybe I don't have on my DA or MySpace or whatever, and you think they might be able to take her in, by all means, do me a favor and repost this for them.

If you have never gone to AX, you need to. It's every summer, though I don't know the dates for sure, at the Anaheim Convention Center (ACC), and it is SO worth paying the $45 for the pass...and yeah, it was worth waiting FIVE HOURS in line to get said pass. Oh God, people were getting pissed and I was one of them. My MOM was getting pissed, cursing every now and then at the stupidity of the moronic pricks that were supposedly "organizing" the line. Ha! If that was organization, I would hate to see how unorganized they can get--people would die! x_X Anyway, it was still fun.
Also, every night (except Monday) there is a REALLY fun dance with Hip-Hop, Techno, and so on, that goes from 9PM-2AM, and at...either 12AM or 1AM, they have an Adult Swim. XD I think it was supposed to be a 16- (or maybe 18- ) or-older thing, but the DJ just said that "Anyone who can't handle cursing, blushes whenever the 'F-word' pops up in conversations, or gets nauseous when people swear...THEN THOSE BITCHES HAD BETTER GET THE FUCK OUT BECAUSE WE'RE STARTING THE ADULT SWIM!!!" I stayed. Had a blast. Mom almost killed me, but it was worth it. On the last night I met an awesome girl that I had met at an Anime Fest out here, and we were "dirty dancing". ... Yeah. We got a lot of cat-calls and had a blast! YOU RAWK, JESSIE-SAN!!

It looks GREAT. When I'm totally decked out with my boots and everything, I look SO close to her, and I am SO happy! MY MOM EVEN BOUGHT ME ANGEL WINGS. Well, when the woman at the rental place gave me the price for buying or renting and said it would be cheaper to buy--Angel wings actually weren't for rent, as we found out when my mom and I got there--I could barely hold it in. The SECOND...the INSTANT...I hung up the phone--thank gawd I was home alone at the time--I WHOOPED. I whooped like no one has ever WHOOPED before. I. WAS. SO. FRIKKIN'. HAPPY. And I have been happy lately. Yay for summer! I think I went through a rough time because of school and things going on in my life, but Summer vacation is here, and I'm on my way to my first out-of-town Anime Expo with some cool friends from my school's Anime Club. YAY!!!! I know I'll have a good time, so don't fret!
Oh, and since I plan on cosplaying as Rinoa, I thought I'd look up some quotes, try to use them as much as I can, y'know? I found that my friends from school were right. I do act like her (sometimes)! The things she says are things I would say. I've become more bold now, so now they're things I'd be even more likely to say. Plus, I was lucky enough to find a page that had things like her...mannerisms, I guess. Things she does, nervous habits, etc. ...She fiddles with her necklace. I do that. She does this cute little sitting position thing that she does, sometimes even in the middle of the conversation. I do that, especially when I'm looking at something near the ground. I mean, I sit just like her o__o Friends that know me, when you see what I'm talking about...I was SO happy. THEN I'm later going to San Diego, POSSIBLY Maryland, somewhere up camping, and so on. It may not sound like much to all of you who are taking trips to Europe and Ireland and AREN'T TAKING ME! (I'm not bitter. What are you talking about, phsycho?!) ...But to me, it's stressful, and my dad with his "Oh yes, life must be so hard for you" and all of that sarcastic BULL CRAP is NOT. HELPING.

This project is due Wednesday, 3/9/05, so we really needed to get this done, especially since we had gotten everyone together that we needed. We even had to get special permission to be able to get inside the school after hours, had to meet a janitor who would let us in, etc. This took A LOT of planning, coordination, focus, and time. We were there for 4 HOURS, working our asses off, and I had to try to keep an extremely ADHD-ridden child--Kayla--focused. For a High School TV Production Project done by a group of freshman, this was PERFECT! We had the ending, and all of the nighttime scenes finished--which is a lot of the short film--so all we had to do was the day shots and credits. We had had fun while working, and we had done an EXCELLENT job! I thought everything was great, and having those shots done, I think everyone felt relieved because they were some of the most difficult. We would almost definitely have the film edited and finished in time. Or so I thought.
I got a call from Kayla last night, Thursday night, and she sounded out of it. I asked if she was OK, and she assured me that she was fine. I said "Ok" rather hesitantly, not believing her. Whenever she speaks to me she's always happy and bouncy and SO FULL OF ENERGY that I often want to strangle her, unless of course she's having a bad day. But she was being rather quiet. She just said that she was OK, and was just playing a game. After a while, I just knew something was wrong, and I told her that she wasn't fooling me and to tell me what was up. She said, "No, you'll kill me..." That gave it away that I was right and something was wrong. "Did something happen? I mean, are you ok? You're not hurt or anything...?" "No, I'm fine..." "Ok...is anyone else hurt or something?" "No..." Then what is it?!" "Well, you see...You know how you gave me the tape and I was supposed to turn it in to Mr. Pearlman (TV Pro. teacher) today?" "Yes...? Kayla! Did you lose it, or leave it somewhere?!" "Nooo..." "Then tell me what happened already!" "Um...This morning..you know how I showed it to my mom last night?" "Yeah, go on..." "Well, I rewound it and everything after I was done, but this morning I thought I hadn't for some reason, so I saw how pretty the sunrise was, and I wanted you to see it...I accidentally left the tape on while I was talking to Eric, who took me to school." ...Wow. That was the second thought that came to mind after, "Oh...my...God......" WOW. Wow, huh? Wow...I was in total shock. All of that hard work, dealing with my mom who was getting impatient and a bit pissed about it taking so long when she thought it would only take half an hour, organizing and catching Chelsea--who goes to another school--at a time when she was available, and getting permission...everything. All for nothing. Wow. I was totally shocked and couldn't stop just spacing out and staring for up to at least five minutes at a time, my mind was a blank, and I was just... "Wow." And then she tells me, after I said that we WERE GOING TO DO IT AGAIN, that her mom wouldn't let her stay after school again, probably because we were out so late. This is Kayla's responsibility, her mom's being a tight-ass as usual, so I just said simply: "Too bad." I know how her mom is, and she thought she needed to remind me, so I said again, "Too bad. I guess certain manga just put me in that mood...Like last night, before I went to sleep, I read Confidential Confessions Vol. 1, which I FINALLY got yesterday after having owned 2-5 for a few weeks. I cried. ;-;
Something that's funny about me: I do NOT cry. It doesn't matter how sad the movie is, or the book. When people in the theatre around me are sniffling and blowing noses, I'm sitting there thinking, "...Are they done yet?" *SNIFF* "...Oh /gawd/, there goes another one..." *Someone in the movie dies* "..." *Mom sniffs loudly or blows her nose* "Shh. Cut that out, big baby." "Morgan, you're so awful! -Laughs.-" "...? You're the one crying! Shush, I'm trying to enjoy the movie!" I'm serious. I DO NOT cry. The only reason Titanic made me cry when I was younger was because I kept picturing the women, men, and children, as me and my "mommy and daddy". Now I bet the most emotion I would show would be, "Aww...! That little kids crying...! Whoohoo! Another one overboard! -Snickers.-" But you give me a good Anime, whether it's a series or a movie, and one of the characters dies, or there is an emotional scene, kissing, crying, dying, and whatnot, I will bawl my eyes out if I like the series. I'm just weird that way...By the way, I highly recommend Confidential Confessions. It really doesn't matter what order you read them in, as I found out and to my immense relief, because there are no *main* characters. I mean, there are, but it isn't a SERIES, like Trigun, or Inuyasha, where it's best if you know what the hell's going on or you WILL BE confused--.Hack//Sign is actually the perfect example of a series like that. o_o Confidential Confessions, for those of you who have never heard of it (Yay, I DO have an audience!...In my own mind o_O), is a manga series about real life issues. It covers things like suicide, bullying, rape, and prostitution...even compensated dating and corporal punishment. I found it to be an amazing and very real series, and SO many things hit me dead on. I won't say what, but one of the stories in one of the books was almost exactly what happened to me...Well, that sounds wrong, especially after saying that one story is about a girl who was raped. -Nervous laugh.- In Volume 4, the story about bullying is what I'm talking about. That is exactly wat happened to me, but with one unfortunate difference: In the story, Tamaki Luka, a junior high student, is picked on by a group of girls in her class. These 3...or 4, can't remember...girls pick on her, while the class pretty much just stands there and watches, not helping the bullies, but not trying to step in and help Luka, either. Even her best friend stood back and could do nothing but watch. The similarities are that I was picked on, and the /girl/ picking on me did practically the exact same things she did to Luka, and no one stepped in to help me, not even my friends. The differences? The rest of the class didn't help me either, but they /did/ help the bully(-ies), save my two friends of course. That volume especially hit me and tugged at my heartstrings because of that story, so I'm sure that everyone (girls, really, since this is a Shoujo) can relate to at least one story in the "series" like I did, at least to some degree.
I'm done rambling now! Please, do the author, and even myself a favor and pick up a copy of Confidential Confessions sometime. You might not be interested enough to buy one from my description of it, but try borrowing it from a friend or the library near you sometime, or flip through them in the stores if you can. I fell in love with the series, and I hope you can too!

As I'm typing, I'm thinking that I sound like I'm speaking to an audience, meaning I feel like I'm speaking to whomever is reading this. Am I supposed to do that? o_O I don't care. I tend to do that a lot even in my /other/ journals.
I am supposed to be grounded today for not wearing my retainer, and since my parents are on this "five demerit" system thing when it comes to my punishment and grounding, it only makes sense. There are a lot of people that are always asking me "What is this 'five demerit system' you're talking about?" and even though I really don't care that people don't know, and I like making people confused, I do not want to have to explain myself twenty-nine times before I am finally left alone and no one asks me. I'm done ranting so I'll explain--Even though I can rant all I want in my own damn journal.
"The Five Demerit System" is where my parents give me a "demerit" for each thing I do "bad". For example, if one of my parents sees that I am not wearing my retainer after they have told me to do so at least four times in one morning *COUGH* I get one "demerit". Demerits are like strikes in a baseball game, but I get five rather than three before one "out" or grounding in the case of the demerits. What I actually love about the demerit system is that when I end up grounded, I am only grounded for one day for every five demerits. That's right! I can do five "bad things" and I am only grounded for ONE DAY. The bad thing about it? It was suggested by my EX-shrink. -.-
You will soon learn that I hate shrinks like some people hate clowns, or have a phobia of them rather.

Something else I hate: My friend and I were talking on the phone. My cell phone disconnects me and I curse the piece of shit some before I try calling him back. It rings once and goes to the machine, leaving me to think that he is still on the phone since he must not have realized that I was disconnected yet--which happens a lot by the way--so I will wait a moment. I try again, and get the five-seven rings, but still no answer. I wait a few minutes, then try again, but it's the same. After a few more tries, I give up, knowing that I should be getting to bed and should let him do the same.
It is now one week later (At the time, anyway), and I still have not been able to reach him. I'm very worried, but my friend Kayla assures me that he must have just gone on vacation, or maybe something happened, but she was sure nothing HORRIBLE. I had my doubts, because it had been SO sudden.
Fast forward to about two to three weeks after hearing NOTHING from him. What do I find out? My friend knew all along that he had MOVED.
EXCUSE ME?

My stomach huuuuuuurts...!!" I mean, it was at first, but...I would have been in school if I hadn't had to go to the Emergency Room on Wednesday night. I waited for two hours in the waiting room before it went away, so I was in pain and almost-couldn't-breathe-on-and-off mode for about three to four hours straight, and then forty minutes before they come out, it stopped. It started up again about five minutes later, but twenty minutes before I got to finally go in, the pain stopped almost completely and felt like "nothing more" than an anxiety attack. Go figure. During the time of the pain though I managed to say to my mom--probably giving her some comfort that I wasn't going to keel over and die--that "If it hurts any worse than this to have a child...screw that, I will NOT reproduce."
And thus ends my wonderful...No, wait, I lied. I still have to tell you about...Oops, I've shared enough about Constantine already Well...Oh! I'll tell you all about how weird I am! (Aren't we all? I mean, I don't believe in "Normal"...but anyway..) I had a really ominous feeling tonight after we left the movie theatres. We were sitting in the van--Whoo! Soccer Dad! I mean...Mom--in order to take my friends home, and I just had a really weird feeling that SOMETHING bad was going to happen. At first I thought I was being dramatic after seeing a movie about people that could see things and so I brushed it off. But it got worse, so once we pulled up to my first friend's house to drop her off, I got out and just whispered to her, "Be careful. I don't know what it is, but just be careful. I have a bad feeling..." She looked at me strangely, not like she thought I was crazy, but like she thought what I had been thinking, that maybe I was being dramatic. I got back in the car, and after a while realized that I felt much more relieved somehow, and knew that it was her that I had sensed might be in for some sort of trouble. I soon forgot, and totally had forgotten by the time I got home. I sat down to read and ignored the phone as it rang a few minutes later. But I groaned to myself as I heard my mom outside asking "...Is this for Morgan? Oh, hey! Ok, here she is..." as she then opened the door and handed me the phone. I found a stopping place in my book rather leasurely, thinking it was my friend Kayla calling about /something/ again. It was my friend who I had first dropped off, and the first thing out of her mouth was: "You were right." Of course I had no idea what she was talking about, but then I remembered and asked in my usual spastic way, "OMYGAWD WHAT HAPPENED?!" She had lost her phone. NOT what I was expecting, but something /had/ happened. Go me! ^^
