I'm still an unemployed loser. However I have made a bunch of new blacksmithing stuff!

1st My forge is nearly complete all I need to do is drill one hole and put together the burner assembly. I brought it into the college's shop several weeks ago and completed all the welding and got some K wool for it. I have firebrick all I need now is to set up the burner assembly and I am ready to rock!

2nd I made two pair of Tongs one for 3/8-1/2 bar stock and another for 3/4X1/4 flat bar which is what I used to make both pairs of tongs.

3rd I got into a Pay it forward art thing on facebook and so now I have a bunch of knives which I have made to give away. The coll thing though is I will get stuff in return I have already received an Orc Knobb for warhammer 40K.

4th awhile back my hammer handle on my 3 1/2lb hammer broke. I got it replaced by one of my fellow students I need to flatten the handle out though. I can't stand a round handle. XP

I hope to have the forge running fairly soon but we will see I still need to get a regulator set up and I am not going to skimp on it.

So now on to the next project this one is a beast of a project it's going to take me awhile to finish it. Those leafs that I posted up are just the first of a crap-ton I have to make for the next project. The next project is a 6 1/2 foot tall by 6 foot wide iron worked double gate. I am not sure how long this will take me but I am gonna be working my ass off at the shop in weekends to come!

So I have some projects going I am currently making a set of grilling tools for my high school's fundraiser thing that they do every year. Yes I know I am a graduate but I felt like being nice to them. I have been working on those and finishing about one a weekend right now I am working on the last one which is a burger flipper. All of them are coming out pretty cool and I am happy with them.

In other news my 3 1/2lb hammer is starting to fall apart the handle was never that well put together and now every 6 or so whacks the head starts sliding up the handle. The wedge sucks and because of the construction of the hammer there is not really enough wood for the head to grab onto so eventually I may have to either replace the handle or do some work to refit the handle. For now I just whack the handle on the anvil and it works. Also for a 7 dollar hammer I don't think it's done to bad.

Other hammer news! Last class I was working my burger flipper taking it from 5/8ths round down to about 1/2 and smaller for a tale part I am doing. So my 3 1/2 was not doing it so I busted out the 6lb sledge from the tool kit and that was just for the front part. Anyhow after getting my arm sore and dreading the next part Bert my teacher said "well why don't you use the power hammer." So I said hell yes and proceeded to get instruction on using the power hammer! What would have taken me probably an hour or two I did in about 20 minutes on the power hammer. Anyhow it was sweeeeet and now I can use it when I need it which will be so awesome for future projects.

I am also taking black smithing again! I went to the first class of the term last night and made a leaf and a standard drive in wall hook. I can still pound out something that looks good! In other news the college is missing most of it's tools because of a disgruntled employee who was fired for crap reasons. That also brought the cost of the class down to $204.00 and it used to be near $300.00 . Alliance Oregon event is coming up and me and Jesse have lot's to build for it. So hopefully more projects will start coming up on my page soon and I intend to try and get my forge done soon as well. All for now!

So they had me do a 34 hour reset where I take 34 hours off and then my 70 hour clock is reset. Well the place they had me reset at was pretty boring just some yard out in the industrial area's of N Kansas City, MO. I was right next to Frog heaven an empty lot loaded with millions of crickets and grasshoppers. The yard itself was boring accept for the outhouse which has "The Lot lizard has aids Oh no!!!!" Written on the inside just a bit of comedy.

The exciting part about this yard and why it's now my favorite drop yard EVAR! Is the theme park Worlds of Fun that's a mile walk away!!!!! Yeah I went and had loads of fun riding the crazy roller coasters and such. They also had one of the most awesome haunted houses EVAR! It was truly awesome I only wish I had stayed till midnight.

Anyhow new chapter of The Hunter is up hope to write the next one soon. I also will probably submit this new thing I have been working on to it's a detective story but that's all I am going to say.

Now the good thing about being employed is that I have some money to play around with. Though not right now because I took a vacation from work to work on our apartment project. When I am out on the road though I have lots of time on my hands which is why there are now four chapters of The Hunter. I write while I am out because it's my only artistic release while I am out there.

Anyhow I go back to work next week so will not be working on any metalwork anytime soon but I should be acquiring a welder before the year is out.

Ahh and I also need to come up with something for Ruby's B-day which is coming up FAAAAST!!!! O_O

Also I should make something for Paul because his B-day is also coming up FAAAST!

For that matter my B-Day is coming up FAAASTER! I will be 21 and can buy Beer, Handguns, and Drive Semi's across the country. Is that a good combo or what?

In other news I am also signing up for more classes. Basic Metal forming should help me to learn how to make armor, and intro to welding will well help me learn to weld. The hope is with the welding that I will get good enough at it to make a forge or two and maybe some tools. Like a post vise and a step vise and maybe a power hammer.

Oh and Power Hammers are super bad ass tools! I will have to get a video for you guys.

In other news I made a tool for the anvils at the shop bassically there is a little round hole in most anvils. This is known as the Pritchell hole it's mainly used for punching holes. YOu can also put tools in it and one of those tools is a pressure clamp. It basically uses leverage to hold something down onto the anvil. We had one for the larger anvil but none for the smaller anvils which we have more of. So I made one. It turned out very good I tested it and it works well.

I have also pretty much finished knife #2 I wrapped the handle in leather and ground it and polished it more on my bench grinder pictures of it will come soon.

Forge welding is going ok I still have alot to learn I acutaly made a really strong forge weld but only because I used high carbon steel and I quenched it. DOH! It hardened up the internal structure of the steel and broke before it should have. The weld did not break however so I did it correctly.

Beowulf the 1999 version. Why does this film suck? Well it's post apocolyptic setting try's, but fails miserably. Another reason the king has a chainsword WHICH HE NEVER FIRES UP! If you are going to have such an awsome weapon in a movie at least have the guts to use it! Despite it being such a bad film it was entertaining I had a good laugh at how corny it was. It was much better than the next movie. Entertainment Value 6.

Darkest Knight. This movie was supposed to be a cool adventure taking place in a time when Dragons ruled the skies! So where were the freeking Dragons? The movie was super corny with no redeeming qualities. The plot was incredibly predictable and the monster at the end sucked, and seriosly where were the Dragons? I guess they were just on the cover of the movie? What ever this movie was part of a series I have not seen the rest of it and will not. I advise you to avoid this cinematic crime for it is not worth your time. Entertainment Value 2.

Elephant. Some people may think this movie is great I thought it was garbage. It tried to be a groundbreaking artistic film that made you love the characters who then get shot in a school shooting. IT FAILED! There was one origional thought that went into this entire movie and thats IT! The plot was entirely ripped from the Columbine Highschool shooting. In fact it the whole movie was just a way of making the shooting into a movie. Seriously read the Wikipedia artical I am not even kidding! Also the characters were HUGE Stereo Types. Sure StereoTypes have some basis in fact but COME ON some more variation in the characters would have been good. You had the sterotypical nerdy fat girl, the girl pack, the photo kid, the kid with drunk dad, the in love highschool couple, and my personal favorite: The Videogame playing Hitler Loving Shooters. The most stereotypical of them all! Despite that fact the Shooters were the only ones who had their own difference woot they were gay! I am cool with that but thats the only origional thought that went into this movie. So please avoid this hunk of trash it's not worth your time! It's entertainment value is 0.

If you want to argue that this movie was good I CAN and will go on for hours with even more reasons why this movie sucked I could fill PAGES with reasons why this movie is bad!

War Of The Worlds the new one. Remakes are never a good idea unless the movie is a new version of Batman. War Of the Worlds is no exception it's bad really bad. What little plot there is can be seen through by a blind man. So they have been planning the invasion for a million years and the ships have been planted there for years. Why did'nt we ever find any? Also what the hell was with the grinding up of people for growing the plants? That was yet another attempt to add a horror element that does not fit in a Sci FI film. If you want to see War Of the Worlds See the origional one or better yet Listen to the Orson Wells version that made people commit suicide because they thought it was real. Entertainment Value 2.

#2:
Reptilian. First of all this is a knock off of a Godzilla and it's an attempt at a serious movie; it failed. Of it failed so well that it is funny. The writer thinks he knows what Americans are like but he does not at all. It may be one of the worst movie ever but it made me laugh myself silly. Entertainment Value 10.

Batman the 1966 version. Oh my god what a terrible movie The Cheese mixed with Creamed Corn actually flows freely from the screen (Seriously watch the movie it does!). Awful plot the worst acting I have ever seen. It's so bad it's funny the opening seens are the best but it keeps rolling making you laugh your ass off. Truely the WORST movie ever made it's really bad even for it's time. Really, really, really, really bad! Entertainment Value 6. Biff, Bap, Pow, Sploosh!
