---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Agence France Presse: "A French football fan hurt in fighting with Serbian supporters in Belgrade died in hospital on Tuesday, a hospital spokesman said. Brice Taton, 28, a Toulouse supporter, sustained brain damage after Partizan Belgrade fans attacked French supporters in a bar on September 17. The football fan died Tuesday morning, said a spokesman for the Belgrade hospital, Drago Jovanovic. 'Taton had irreversible brain damage and prior to the death a sudden weakening of all vital functions occurred,' Jovanovic said."

As a soccer fan and simply as a human being I find this very troubling; for a supporter of a football club to be killed simply because of his club affiliation is absolutely unconscionable. A sports fan should never have to pay a greater price then that of a ticket for the sport they loveÂ

So I just got back from my mini-vacation and barring some car trouble we had on the way back, I had a great time. We spent about six days in Salida, Colorado, a small town in the heart of the Sawatch Mountain Range. During our time there we saw everything from amazing mountains passes to ghost towns; the trip, in a word, was amazing. The area in and around Salida, and throughout the Sawatch Range is definitely one of the most impressive areas in North America, not only for amazing landscapes but also the vibrant and plentiful wildlife. Anyway, I've started uploading photos from my trip on my secondary account so I'd love to share them with you and maybe get some feedback. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!

Take a look at my new photos here ---> [link]

Thanks again,

Andre

I always try to avoid talking about myself too much as it seems a bit self-centered but I figure I might as well put this in my journal so I don't have to explain it too many times. It seems like I've been gone for quite awhile; I've spent the last two weeks battling the flu and after spending several days in the hospital I'm finally back home and feeling quite a bit better. Anyway, I've missed talking to everyone one here so I'm glad to be back, and I do hope (belatedly) that everyone had a good Memorial Day.

I try to avoid politics on websites like DA because I'm cognizant that here, like elsewhere there are very diverse political views, but I have to ask, can someone please explain this taxpayer tea party movement to me? Perhaps I've missed something, but in March, the Obama administration authorized tax cuts for 95% of Americans so I have to wonder what it is exactly these people are protesting over. More alarming however are the displays of subtle (and in some cases not so subtle) racism that have been shown during these protests. Needless to say, the majority of protestors have (admirably) avoided any kind of racist demonstration but I'm still disappointed to see that in this day and age race still figures in to the American political system. It seems that in spite of the facts, people have been convinced that the current administration has only raised taxes, but I suppose, even if something is fallacious, if it’s said often enough people are bound to start believing itÂ

If anyone here has seen my other profile, you may be wondering why I now have a second DA profile…to make a long story short, as I’ve been sorting through my photos I’ve realized that I have two very different types of photographs: ones involving Europe which focus mostly on architecture and ones involving the US focusing mainly on nature and a few other oddball topics. I really enjoy both types of photos and I would like to showcase both groups without one detracting from the other, hence I’ve set up a secondary profile, Andre LeVattepII for the photos that I’ve taken in America. Many of you may have seen these photos already but feel free to take a look anyway! [link]

Sur mon deuxième profil, [link] , j’ai une collection des photos qui j’ai pris aux E-U et ici sur mon premier profil, j’ai mes photos de la France et l’Europe.
Well just a quick journal entry today...much to my dismay, it has come to my attention that my DA account was hacked. When I was hacked, many of my settings were changed, my favorite photos were rearranged (and a few rather tasteless photos were added) some of my original photos were removed and although I have seen no evidence of this yet, it is certainly possible that while my account was hijacked it may have been used to either send spam or other unpleasant comments to people's accounts. If I've seemingly said anything rude, out of character or otherwise upsetting in anyone's comments area, please come talk to me about it! I've gone to great lengths now change all my passwords and edit a few settings so that hopefully this incredibly frustrating incident will not be repeated...

Well this is fun, my first journal ever and I've only been on Deviant art since 2006...so anyway, I've been absent from DA for quite some time now but I'm planning on finally getting involved again. So far I have a few new projects planned, one being a collection of some of the oddball things in and around Lawrence, and another centered around my new job which is building (and later working at) a vineyard. I think the vineyard photos should be interesting at least as a step by step window into the complicated process of actually planning out and constructing a vineyard. As of now I have a very little to post but in a few weeks I think I'll be uploading in full swing, provided I have some time between classes and work. Anyway, I just thought it would be mildly amusing to write my first journal entry, so here it is...
