In both Hamlet and Lion King the two antagonists are Claudius and Scar.  Seeing as Lion King was bases on Shakespeare’s play called Hamlet, you can deduce that Scar is based roughly upon Claudius.  Though looks can be deceiving, you have to dig past all that tough fur to see the real foundation of the character.  Past all the Disney lovable cuteness and animation, there is a sad reality to the characters.  Scar the recreation of Claudius shares many traits, yet like with any reincarnation, there is a difference.
