HELL EXPLAINED BY A CHEMISTRY STUDENT



The following is an actual question given on a University of Arizona chemistry mid term, and an actual answer turned in by a student.

The answer by one student was so ' profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :




Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?




Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.




One student, however, wrote the following:




First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving, which is unlikely. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.




Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.




This gives two possibilities:




1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.




2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.




So which is it?




If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct..... ...leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

For anyone looking forward to comics or art that I owe you, I thank you for being so patient. I will have any and all owed artwork finished and posted by the end of Saturday this week.

Recently, I was featured by Truro in a meme she did...I just wanted to say a big public "THANK YOU!!!" to her because it really made my day.

In the spirit of trying to actually get serious about my art and animation, I have now created three DA areas:



(1) My main DA page [ ] will be my sketches, my fan art, my goofing around, and all the art I owe people. This will be the least professional of the three.

(2) My comic DA page [ ] will be hosting my comic "Purgatory". I will be continuing the updates every Monday and will no longer fall behind on any pages or miss out on posting (except when it cannot be helped, like a hurricane knocking out the power or going to a funeral or something).

EDIT: New pages have been uploaded to "Purgatory". Go bask in the new-page glory!


(3) My animation DA page [ ] will be my professional portfolio. It will host any and all of my animation, the trials and errors, and hopefully catalog my improvements between now and when I finally try to apply for a real animation job.




If you do not care to follow any of the new pages, that's fine. I'm not asking you to. I will make mention of any new animation postings when I make journals here, but you are on your own to follow the Monday comic schedule (you lazy lazies, you). You may notice certain older things disappearing from this account...that will be because I am shifting it to another account.

EDIT: Everything has now been shifted. It was mostly older animations, for anyone wondering.

Art theft??

I laughed when I read that (mostly because I'm so tired right now). I honestly don't know what to think about this one. The Copyright Violation I can imagine since I took them straight from a captured video, but art theft? Seriously?




And now for something completely different:

I. Am. Tired.
So very, very, very tired.

I have been staying up to the extreme these last two weeks, going to work after only two or three hours of sleep. I have neglected my "Purgatory" comic (sorry to anyone who is actually reading it still...I do appreciate your time and attention!!). "Why?" you may ask...

I've been doing another animated commercial/video for a scholarship.

In other news:

I got to go to my local zoo on Wednesday. That was very awesome! I managed to get a lot of sketchwork done and even got to see the anteaters up and active (they usually aren't). Unfortunately, sometime around noon, someone hit a switch and all the animals gave up entertaining us with the antics of being animals and took naps. What was really cool was that the children playground was reopened (it was being redone recently) and looks great. I miss some of the old pieces, but I like what they've done with it. There's a wade pool for the kids (no deeper than knee high on an adult, making it safe for even the tiniest of toddlers) and a huge tank with a bunch of fish and small sting rays. The petting portion of the playground has added two new animal groups: alpacas and armadillos. Surprisingly, armadillos have really soft skin underneath. They're so adorable, I wish I could have smuggled one home with me!!! I was able to hold one (the manager was at lunch when I was chatting up the volunteer) and the cutie just snuffled, curled up in my arms and went back to sleep. Sadly, I didn't get to sketch him because my arms was full of adorableness (you hold it the way you would hold a human baby).

Also, one of the local theaters is playing midnight movies during the summer. I'm going to go see "Edward Scissorhands" on Saturday. I wish I could go on Friday with Knigh7 and Bori, but my folks need the car and my sister has to work tonight (she wants to see it too).

Lastly, I'm uploading a massive amount of pages to today, so, please please PLEASE go take a look.................please?

Its a pretty neat idea and I'm happy to say that this may be just the thing I needed to lift my spirits (I've been low this week due to the fact that I can't afford school or new software...maybe in 6-8 months I can try again...) for the summer!!

In other news:

I love summer thunderstorms. The clouds are mega-dynamic right now, the thunder rolls around the sky in an insane sound, and the lightening is crazy horizontal stabbings. All in all, very cool. The only downer is that my backup battery is old and I can't rely on it to not work when the power flickers. That, and thunder freaks out the dog and cats. Not the ferrets or rabbit, though...that's sorta odd...

Sadly, however, people can get hurt during these amazing storms. At least 5 people were reported as victims of lighting strikes this afternoon, with one fatal causality. Not cool. Our prayers are with them and their family/families.


Watching CSI s1 after watching s7 is bizarre. You forget how young they looked when it first started out.


If things go right, I'll be able to spend all next Tuesday at the zoo. I love to take my sketchbook to all-day outdoor events since its a perfect time to practice life drawing (I'm too poor to pay for a class). Zoo means happy times for me.

Now that I've settled directly on a character style, I'm going to start working on animating expressions and motion. These aren't going to be big and colorful projects, just a way to start to get a feel for how she moves and reacts. The real animation is still yet to come.


On another note:

I've deleted some of the images in my gallery and moved others to my scraps section. I'm trying to clean up my gallery with hopes of making it look better as I move onwards with my art. The pieces I submit (aside from my animation things) will still be mostly linework and b/w ink'd stuff. This would be the fanart pieces from shows like "Phineas and Ferb", "American Dad", "The Simpsons", any animated movie that comes out, etc. Giftart will usually be colored to some degree.

Ok, here is the new bits of news:

1) will be updating every Monday and, depending on how well the rest of the week goes, every Friday. Yes, its still in the first chapter of the comic, but these are fresh new pages that are fleshing out the story until the point that everyone has already seen. So, please, take a look.

2) I scrapped the "Perry the Platypus vs. Ninja Iam" and the "Foamy tribute: X-Mas in July" animation projects in order to work on something that has been evolving since I've first started watching the SciFi show, "Stargate SG-1". Character sketches will be posted in my scraps, so if you normally don't check there and would like to see the character in-the-making, take a peek. The scans will be posted probably Monday night or sometime Tuesday.

3) If you are a person who believes in prayer or that thinking positive thoughts helps change the future, please say and/or think some really nice things for my friend who may be getting a very, very sweet offer for an Internship. Take a look at her art and see if you can guess from whom.

Ok, so summer has officially started for me. Right now, I'm helping my church with the annual Vacation Bible School (aka: VBS), which is why I haven't been online for a while. Just to keep everyone updated: I will be taking the fall off from school in order to do the proper research for which University I will attend in order to get my Bachelors and Major degrees (respectfully). I also will be getting off my lazy bum and kicking things into gear.

Since I wish to become an Animator when I grow up (hee hee hee...Big Bird in a tie...) I think it would be a good idea to actual work on producing some decent quality animations. I am working on getting the latest Flash software, but in the meantime, I am working with Microsoft's GIF animator (the short MS Paint animations I have in the back of my closet...I mean gallery) and a software called Anime Studio 5.0 in order to practice in the meantime.

Why would you care?

Because I need some help coming up with a new project each month! I am taking all sorts of suggestions!!

The first month (this month...June? June.) is a battle that was "scripted" between a friend and myself a while ago (aka: we were messing around on Y!M and came up with a funny fight scene) which involves Perry the Platypus and (the not-then-named) Ninja Iam.

My goal is to script, storyboard, flesh out and animate a sequence each month for the rest of the year. Hopefully, as I practice more and more, the animations will improve. Feedback is greatly encouraged!!!!

Ok, in the meantime, I am trying to catch back up with everyone. This means I'm reading 135 messages (95 of which are journals) and 394 deviations. I'm not ignoring or avoiding anyone, I swear!! I've just been really, really busy!! Please forgive me!!!

I'll make it up to everyone by updating this Sunday...how does that sound?

If anyone knows of someone that is interested in one of the Playmobil Victorian Dollhouse (series/item number is/was 5300), please let me know. I am trying to sell my dollhouse. It is the standard Victorian house model with an added level, which is two bonus rooms and a patio. It is complete with all the original furnishings, items, and people. The house is in excellent condition, with the exception of two roof panels. I am also selling a boxful of extra people and items from different Playmobil series, including the zoo set.

I haven't posted it to ebay yet (I'm still taking pictures) and I don't have a starting price yet (totaling up what it originally cost and doing comparison shopping online), but I should have finished soon.

You want more information? Some sort of explanation or excuse?


...oh, very well.


Because of pressure from home and school and myself, I need to really focus on these next three weeks as "completely, nothing else but school" time. I'm doing alright in my classes (2 "A"s, 2 "B"s), but finals is just around the corner. In addition to the finals, I also need to take the Math CLAST (don't ask me what it stands for...I only know that the "T" means "test")in order to graduate. Here's the kicker: it will take 4-6 weeks for the official results reach the school. I graduate in 3 1/2 weeks. Luckily, I will still be able to walk at graduation, since they don't pass out diplomas then and there (plus, I've filled out/completed all the requirements for my A.A. degree). So there's that stress on top of finishing all of my finals with an "A" or a "B". On, and on top of all THAT stress, I have until June 1st to get my transfer information filled out if I want to try and go to University in the Fall. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE I WANT TO GO YET!!! I'm applying everywhere to see who will even accept me, then I'll narrow my choices/get picky about it.

...so, I'm just a tad stressed right now. I'm pretty sure I'm suffering from "nervous stomach" from all the stress/pressure, which isn't helping me in the slightest because I'm in constant pain.

And why do you/should you care?

Well, this means that will not be updating until after May 14th. This also means that I will not be updating here either. And it certainly means that I will be (sadly) waiting three weeks before I see everyone's amazing art work and read/reply to your notes and journals.

Sorry to be gone for so long...I've had a lot of real life stuff to deal with.

But the main issue I have been having is with "Purgatory". You see, the thing is, when I attempted to make my own website for my comic, I had some trouble. Most was technical issues, but a friend reminded me that most of the characters I use (or, at least, their designs) are copyrighted. This means that, even if I could get the site to work, I would not be able to post any of my comics.

Therefore, I have come to the decision to repost all of the comics from the very beginning into one compilation under a new name. This will include all three volumes of stories up to and including all future comics. This also includes comics that were never shown or never finished. While each section will be titled in accordance to their volumes (vol.1 = Purgatory; vol.2 = Holiday Purgatory; vol.3= Purgatory Revamp; vol.4 = Purgatory: Highlights), the new title overall is "One Purgatory Too Late".

You can find all the comics under the DA name "1Purgatory2Late".
This weekend I will be moving all of my comics from this account to the new one. Hopefully, some of my readers will follow the links...and possibly come back here every once in a while to see what new artwork I have posted on the side.

So, hi everyone.

Spring is upon us and that means school is back in session. I'm taking a full college course load again, so that means comics are down to one per week. Sorry. However, as a "Thank You" to all the very, very, VERY loyal fans, there will be a nice surprise treat this week.

So, this Friday, you get four pages (two were suppose to be last Friday, one for this Friday, and one extra because I haven't heard anyone whine about it yet...but I haven't checked my messages, so, who knows.)

...I'm still a bit under the weather, so if I ramble incoheriently, I'm either talking with food in my mouth, or I'm on cold medication.

Ok, first off, I owe any/all watchers of "Purgatory: Revamp" a big apology. I know I said that each and every new update would be on Friday evening, but this week's was late. The silly thing was, I had it inked and everything on time. But, you see, Friday morning, I get a call from my sister at 6:40am saying "___so and so student's mom____ had to do something and can't chaperone. Wanna go to Disney?"

HEY YES!!!!!

Actually, it was Downtown Disney, not the park, but there was this really neat art exhibit thing going on and her class was going as some sort of program. So, I got to spend the day at Downtown Disney. I got the chance to take serious time to practice life sketching and quick sketching (remember kids: crowds are fun!) and got to see where Cirque du Soleil preforms every day. We didn't have time to take in a show, sadly, but the gift shop was tons of fun; with some juggling balls and the Chinese top/yoyo toy set up for guests to try out. Took a few tries (ok, a LOT of tries) but I finally got the hang of the Chinese top/yoyo and could even get it to jump (you bounce it off its string and then catch it again) a few times in a row without dropping it!

Ok, so, that's the reason why this week's comic page was late.

Here's the second big news...I GOT A SECOND FERRET!!!

I'm sure you've seen the pictures by now. His name is Teddy; Teddy Bear, Teddy Franklin Roosevelt, el Bandito, or all of the above. He's a (alleged, although he looks a bit too big for what the guy at the shop says) 8 mo. old Fancy. I know Fancy ferrets are a bit larger and longer, but, really, he looks like at least a year, if not two. I don't care, I just love him to bits! He's so soft, and when light hits his eyes just so, you can see that his eyes are blue! BLUE!!! Too cute!!

Moo (my first ferret, 1.9 years old) isn't quite sure about Teddy yet. He goes through phases of "lets play" to "This is my territory, yo!" and then "Oh, you're bigger and, thusly, in charge" in a blink, so I'm not quite sure where their friendship will be going. Hopefully, it'll take off and they'll get along peachy. Now, at Day Three, they still do a little rough and tumble every now and then, with both of them hissing this funny little wheezing hiss (too cute!). However, they're curled up in this little Yin-Yang position together at this very moment (waaaaaaaaaaay too cute!!!!! ), so I guess, at the end of the day, they're pals and brothers.


So, as you can see, I've been a bit busy this weekend. However, I do have a treat for some of you.

Heh, yeah, that's right. The next chapter (its sorted into chapters in my notes...if it ever gets so popular that I take it to a convention, it'll be printed and sorted into chapters with titles and everything (maybe even color!), but that's a looooooooong way off...)

Ahem.

The next chapter opens up the entire world, so, of course, that means that there are other inhabitants of this between-world. Now, I'm not going to fill the background with everyone or that I'm going to take the few people who enter their submissions and only have one person in the background (like Emmitt Nervend from "Freakazoid"...oh yeah, I MADE that reference!) at a time. What is going to happen is that I already have a set of B-roll characters, but if anyone wants to be in the comic, I can find a niche for them.

What you need to do is fill out this (below) form and send it by note to me this week. Everyone who enters gets in, and, thusly, gets not only a cameo but also some fan art (the stand alone sketch, complete with color).

Page one:
Opening shot: It’s dark. Eyes open slight and can sort of see some sort of corridor. Finally, the viewer regains proper consciousness. Move the head, can see torn and bloody glove of one hand. The corridor goes on and curves away. Close eyes, giving up.

VO: Hey, you going to get up or what?

Last panel shot: Eyes open once more to see small, curved feet and a tail.

VO: What?

Page two:
Opening shot: sing-song VO: Don’t say what! Get up!
Second panel: See a small monster-like creature waiting as a toon stands.

Toon: ugh, fine. Just don’t sing.

Monster: Fine.

Rest of the page: The toon looks around, blowing her breath out to move her flopped over ear off of her face. She glances around while the little monster just watches her and waits.

Final Panel: Toon freaks out, grabbing her ears and shouting. The monster, however, just smiles, relaxed, as if waiting for this.

Toon: WHAT AM I?!

Monster: Theeeeeeeeeere it is…

Page three:
Opening shot: The toon is still streatching her ears to look at them.

Toon: What is with these ears…

Second panel: She now lets go of the ears and grabs her twitching tail.

Toon (cont): And this tail?

Third panel: The monster now has a book out. The cover reads “Discovering the Toon within You”.

Monster: Well, lets see!

Continuing panels: The monster flips through the book, finally finding what she is looking for.

Monster: AH-ha!

Sixth/Seventh panel: The monster shows the book to the toon. A picture of three Warner Siblings, all grinning and playing around, is shown, along with the caption “ANIMANIACS: ZANI To DA MAXIMIUS”.

Monster: Eh? Eh?

Eight Panel: The toon is unimpressed, which disappoints the little monster.

Toon: That’s nice, but not quite what I meant…

Monster: …Oh.

Fourth page:
Opening shot: The toon is now looking around.

Toon: I meant, where am I? Last thing I remembered, I was at school…school and…and…

FLASHBACK: Reaction shot of seeing something and an explosion.

Monster: That explains it…most people wake up in the last place they remember being. You were at school when the change happened.

Panel seven: The toon twists around, alarmed at the monster’s words.

Toon: Change?

Panel eight: Monster is slightly abashed. Shrugs.

Monster: Well, you’re sort of what we like to call a “technicality”.

Fifth page:
Opening shot: Toon is staring at the monster, hands on hips, annoyed.

Toon: What do you mean, a technicality?!

Second panel: Monster draws down a chart and pointer out of no where.

Monster: A technicality. You’re brain is dead, but the rest of you is still going.

Panel three: New chart.

Monster (cont): Technically, you’re not alive, but enough of you is to keep you out of the final two Doors.

Panel four: Toon just stares, shocked.

Toon: you mean I’m…I’m…dead?!


...so, what does everyone think? I already have the first two pages inked, plus the third one on its way to being inked. Scanner wont work right now, so I may have to wait a week or two or find a friend who has one. Hopefully, THIS one will get off the ground and keep itself up in the air!

I plan to have a few returns of old (aka: failed) projects tie into this one, so you may see some familiar faces soon.

Thanks for the comments on my previous journal regarding my birthday. Yes, this year was a special number for me (I wont say which number, for security reason), and, in itself, was pretty special in turn.

The actual birthday-day was pretty lousy. I had class, a lunch, and more class; mostly embarrassment and pain (both emotional and physical: I got some serious blisters on my heels due to trying to break in some new shoes), I ended up running late in the morning, I made a fool of myself in my night class and got most of the test-practice problems in my math class wrong. Pretty much, if it COULD go wrong, it did.

However, this year wasn't a total lost. The day before my birthday was pretty wonderful. I had the day off from work, I got up on time and feeling well-rested, everything seemed to go my way. My mom (who knows what a huge "Doctor Who" fan I am) spent some of time and made me a TARDIS cake (see pictures in my gallery), which turned out not only pretty cool, but really tasty!!!

I received several DVDS----"Torchwood" (s1), "Tiny Toon Adventures" (s1p1) and "Tin Man" (the mini-series)---for presents and my grandparents sent me some money, which happened to be just the right amount to buy the ferret cage I wanted for my ferret! Plus, a few days ago, I happened to find an issue of "Torchwood magazine" that I didn't already have...and it had multiple posters inside! WHOO-HOO!!! I went back and bought it yesterday and now have the posters hanging on my wall


So, the week has passed, and I'm sort of at mixed roads here. Its like I can see where my life is, where is is going, and where it can go...but I'm not sure what road to take. You know, the usual "life stuff". But, I'm starting to do some serious thinking...and I'm not liking what I'm seeing. A lot of things that are going on in my life are giving me some serious stress issues, depression, and so far. Now, this doesn't have to do with the individual I based my "Answer me this..." picture on and isn't some "emo-rant" thing, so you don't have to really reply to it, but it IS me just being honest with myself in print (this way, my internal dialogue can point to it and say "See? I told you so! Now get off your bum and do something about it!") So, nothing like a little life management to get things back on track!

Why am I telling all of you this? Well, simply, because it means more schedules...and me ACTUALLY keeping to them! At least, that is the plan. With my new "Tiny Toons" DVDs (and me hoping to get "Freakazoid" s1 and "Animaniacs" s2 soon), I plan to pick up some books from the library on the cartooning and the cartoonists of the 90s (one of my favorite cartoon eras) and really get to work. Art may just be a hobby of mine, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't work just as hard on it as I do in other parts of my life, right?

Anyways, that's my latest updates. I'll post an art plan as soon as I finish working it out.

So, right then. I'm back. As those of you who have seen and commented on my first piece back, I thank you greatly. I really valued the feedback I got from everyone, and the unanimous cry of "work on the hands/feet" have given me something to now aim myself at.

So, next project? A piece each dedicated to hands and feet. Hopefully, this method of submitting and then using the feedback to work on improvement towards the next piece (the part before the whole) will help me in bringing my art up to a more satisfactory level.

When badly done comic pages created and finished in less than an hour get more feedback than a two-hour serious "improvement" piece, that tells me how bad my works are.

So, I am taking a leave of absence. I'm going to work on my art and see if I can find any improvement at all. I will most likely pop in and out to keep up with other people's art work. It's possible I will be back as a DA eventually...I may never come back at all.

Who knows?

Perhaps art really isn't my thing after all...despite how much I enjoy it, it does no good to work towards something if it never grows or improves.

So, goodbye folks, if anyone is still watching/reading what I do. I'll leave one last art piece...two and a half hours worth of work. I hope it can measure up to something.

I'm down to about a week and a half, and, like all scholarly folk, I'm staring down final projects, Thesis papers, and final exams. So, please, some one tell me: HOW CAN A CLASS FULL OF PEOPLE WHO JUST SPENT FIFTEEN WEEKS IN A CREATIVE WRITING CLASS STILL BE SO STUPID?!?!?!

I mean, come on!! In order to get to college, they had to pass a basic English class SOMEwhere along the line...high school, middle school, elementary school...some where, right?

But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...no, I get stuck in the class that still can't figure out you are suppose to capitalize words at the beginning of a sentence, that commas are necessary, and that, if your sentence lasts longer than the alloted words in a PARAGRAPH, its considered a run-on and requires PUNCUATION!!

I mean, I serious must have written the word "comma" about 500 times now...honest to goodness, I will count the number of times if any one cares to put this estimation under the category of "exaggeration". I warn you, I will!

Ok, so, my life looks like this:

Wed: Finish Thesis Paper (for one class) Finish Course Project (for another class) Go to final Math Class...pick up ferret food.

Thurs.: Work, Take Internet Research Final Exam.

Friday: Work alllllllllllll day long. Study.

Sat/Sun: Study for College algebra Exam.

Mon: Work, Take College algebra Exam.

Tues.: Work, study for Survey American Lit. and Personal Finance Exams.

Wed.: Take Survey American Lit. and Personal Finance Exams.

Thurs.: Double check to make sure alllllllllllllllllll misc. class work is done and turned in.

Friday: Work.

Sat.: Sleep in, wake up and breathe a sigh of relief, go to the Zoo and see the new baby giraffe.

That's it folks! After next Thursday, there will be nothing left but to work, look at other colleges/universities, and DRAW!!!

Ok, so, yeah. Finals are May 1st thru the 5th, so anyone who prays or believes in positive will, please send some my way...especially regarding the evil that is College Algebra.

Picked up a copy of "Nemi", which apparently is a Hungarian web comic. If you find the English translation edition of the comic in book-form, its hilarious!

Also picked up "Animaniacs" S3 on DVD and have a copy of "Looney Toons: How to Draw secrets" on back order. If anyone has any serious thoughts to animation or art, its well worth the look and the price. It has every little thing you can desire in a book on cartooning and animation, and isn't just another one of those "How to Draw this character" crap books.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd that's pretty much it.

Oh, I'm going to go see a live version of "RENT" tomorrow. Loved the movie, loved the music, am going to love seeing it on stage. Should be good.

I must say, I was a little disheartened to come back and see that the majority of the 50-odd comments were actually journal entries and had next-to-nothing to actually do with anything, so I deleted all of that. Sorry if you have something major going on in your life, but I'm not going to sort through a load of "filler" journals for the one or two ones that are actually worth something to hear or give support to any more. If something is going on with you, and one of those deleted journals was yours (a good indication is that I didn't comment), I'm sorry and will be happy to listen to all/help with anything I can. But I'm getting sick of (1) reading through junk and/or (2) leaving helpful or kind messages for people who either wont read them or just wont care.

Now that we're back in business...um...we're going to be back in business.

OH! And apparently SciFi has once again redeemed itself in my eyes by proving me wrong and releasing something that was not only worth the time it took to make it, but actually made me want to watch more. Good job, SciFi, on the "Tin Man" mini-series. I will now (at least, for the time being) not be banned from New York due to the fact your HQ is there.

There will be sketches of joy to that effect uploading soon to a DA near you.

So, that means the last bit of "Screw-On Head" fanart wont be making its way onto DA. Which kinda bites, since I really liked it. Maybe I can re-do it

On the second week of December, what I happen to see: four out of five finals needed to be taken.
That's right. I wont be art-ing or online-ing until after the semester is over and done with. That also means the "Movie Fanart" will be set back by two weeks, but I'll also have more free time to (hopefully) do something worthwhile this month.

December means getting with missed loved ones. And what a better movie than "Back to the Future" (since I have all three, I'll combine them into one month).

Ok, so I took the time (yeah, a whole 8 minutes...wow, what a tax on my time that was ) to message nearly everyone on my "is watching" list. I excluded people who either answered in my previous journal or who I talk to consistently. The note I sent out read something like this:

Do you watch me?
I'm asking because you are on my "is watching" list.
If you are not watching me, and are not looking at/commenting on my art, I'm going to ask you politely to take me off your "watching" list.
Thank you, and have a great day.

...well, hopefully I should have so results. Either way, I'll know who is paying attention.

And, just to be fair, I am also weeding out those who I originally watched for a leg-up or because I liked only one aspect of their art. I just don't see it as "fair" for people to watch only for one element/style/character of an artist. If you only like it when they draw that one particular thing in the rare occasion, either ask for commission or bookmark their page but don't DA-watch them. If you aren't helpfully commenting, then its just not fair to them.

I mean, it isn't like I'm glad to have such a large number to people who are "watching" me. Its just, I hate to think "Wow, 34 people are watching my stuff and like what I am doing!" and then find out that its only the same two or three people commenting on my pieces. Sure, I've had a few random people (whom I never met before) some of my things and leave a nice comment, which is a definite spirit lifter! But all-in-all, I can't learn anything if people don't give me good feedback, and I can't expect 34 people to be giving me feedback if they aren't even actually watching! Am I in the wrong here? Or am I acting on something that really isn't a big deal?

Also, you may have noticed my gallery (pitiful as it was) has shrunk. That's right. I'm making use of the Scraps feature, and everything that is either sketchy, a random photograph, or just not that good (...well, that would be nearly everything...) went into the scraps.

Ok, rant over! All happy giggles and sunshine and sh*t.
Pardon my tiredness, I have only two weeks of school left before finals and they are seriously putting on the pressure.

So: November.
- Another colored "Screw-On Head" piece.
- One or two in a b/w style.
- Anything else I feel like...maybe I'll revive "Purgatory" for a quick Thanksgiving fan art...who knows.

Ok, I know I promised Halloween fanart and one last A.I. sketch, but I sort of ran out of month. I might be able to sketch something out tomorrow during the Garage Sale, but for tonight, I'm heading out to see "Rocky Horror Picture Show".

Apparently a there is a group that goes around, and does a live action rendering of the movie while it plays in the background on a huge screen or something. Anyways, I'm heading out for that tonight, so I'll see if I can snap a few shots of the cast and/or the audience's outfits (since fans are so notorious for dressing up) for everyone.

Right, well, as soon as I stop squealing and dancing about....

-ahem- Ok, well, November is a start of a new month, and this month's DVD is "The Amazing Screw-On Head". A great movie based off of a Mike Mignola comic that really didn't catch on Its a great movie with an excellent vocal casting and animation. Go check it out if you can.

EDIT: Ok, um, wow...Its 1:13 in the morning right now. No, the show isn't over. You know, I've been to that playhouse before and have seen some really nice stuff there before. Its quite a respectable place, very clean and well kept. And I'm a huge fan of RHPS (the movie), so I was very psyched to go and see this live performance. But you know what? There was more profanity and sex in the pre-show than the entire movie has. What was preformed by the crew before the movie even began was smutty, and all throughout the first song was nothing but rancid and obscene nonsense.

You know, RHPS is suppose to be lighthearted, a little risqué, but tongue-in-cheek. It is suppose to be fun.

This was nothing more than obscene, foul, barely-clothed porn.

We left before the second song was over.


And what was worse; I took (and paid for) my parents and younger sister to come. My parents thought it would be fun to re-live RHPS (they had seen it when it first came out) and my sister had only seen the movie once in passing. We thought it would be fun, a little wild, but something we could enjoy. Instead, it was a waste of money and a good portion of a tank of gas.

I'm am serious disappointed.
But now I guess I know better.

And thank you to everyone who sent well wishes and prayers my way about the Midterms...I aced both of them! Ok, I know October is almost over, but there will still be more to come. Actually, I'm quite sick right now in general, but also about a lot of personal things. Its mostly school stress and some other things I really don't want to share, but the narrow end is that everything is adding up to gang up on me and give me physical illness symptoms and an emotional hangover for today. Wheeeeeeee~~~~pttfph.

If I live (which is so melodramatic! Geezesh...sorry, lemme stop feeling sorry for myself and rewrite that)...When I get over it, this is what you'll see for October:

So, I can finally start doing some proper attempts at art again. And what better way to do that, then to come up with a system? Yes. I have devised a system. A method, if you will, to my madness.

My DVD collection.

Why not? It's just sitting on my shelf, staring at me all day, boring holes into the back of my head so that my brain will leak out every where onto the carpeting...but that's ok, I need new carpeting for my room anyways...

...Can you tell its late?


So, the plan is simple (for the rest of you who are up late too): Each month, I shall do a set of fanarts from one of the DVDs. Its alphabetical, so that should help keep it in order. There will be at least one or two serious pieces a month...and by serious, I mean colored. Colored well.

Yup, that's how serious I am.

I will be welcoming all positive critiques (as always) since I know that my art isn't exactly at "receiving a Daily Deviation" (and I'm too cheap to shell out the bucks to go take a class on campus) and the only way to learn what works and what doesn't is by feedback. But I don't want any comments that are "yay, this is good! Wee, fun colors! yatta! kawaii! etc!"...because that won't help at all.

By the way, any comments that are made up of such things (jokingly or otherwise) will be duly ignored and hidden...AJ, that rule is mainly for you. I'm watching you, buddy...

So, yah, that's about it.

1) Ok...um...all my celebrity/movie crushes are always older guys. Not sure why...but that seems to be the pattern. Older and/or with Greek genetics.

2) Speaking of Greek genes...I think accents are very, very smexy!!

3) Um...ok, this is really weird, but feet are my favorite body part. They're just so versatile (shape, flexibility, the veins beneath the skin, etc) and odd that they just seem so cool...but I bite at drawing them, despite my endless studying.

4) Fluff'n'Nutters are one my most favorite foods ever!!! (it is made from marshmallow fluff and peanut butter...try it sometime!!)

5) I can cook a load of different dishes and ways, including using a wok, but I really don't have the patience to do much in the kitchen.

6) I still love kid shows because they help relax/de-stress after a long day (or if I watch the news). Veggie Tales is at the top of that list.

7) I'm so happy all of the older TV shows are being re-released on DVD so I can see them again!!! (SeaQuest DSV & Johnny Quest, to name a few, and hopefully VR5)

8) I'd prefer to listen to soundtracks and scores than what's playing on the radio or any modern music artists.

I bought a laptop.


In the immortal words of Homer J. Simpson....WHOO-HOO!!!!! I just picked up an Acer Aspire 5100, which is one b-e-a-utiful(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) machine. It runs like a dream, has a decent battery life, and I can research colleges while watching my "Hellboy" DVD on it.

So, no new pictures until I fix my desktop (who is currently holding the scanner ransom), but I'm 49 messages/123 devi.s away from finally catching up.
