I went to PAX with ~afreak, ~Cadychan and another friend of ours. Unfortunately we weren't there for the whole weekend since we got there late on friday, but we really enjoyed ourselves with what we got.

~Cadychan and I went to check out this amazing "Women in Gaming" panel, which presented some interesting points, and found out after that ~afreak went and got a bunch of free spoils. Which, was our next objective but everyone ran out of nearly everything.

So we went shopping.

And man, does my wallet hate me.

Let's see. I went home with a lot of OniPress goodies (Scott Pilgrim, mostly, but the artist for NorthWorld was also there and it sounded really good, so why not)... a Mario magnet, a shirt from Behemoth Games, a Photoshop Hero Tshirt and a PAX09 shirt. I'm slightly annoyed over the last two Tshirts because they had run out of small *AND* medium Tshirts; so I suffered with Large, which fits loosely so it's not THAT bad. Unfortunately the guy gave me an XL PAX Tshirt. *facepalm*... mind you, the fit is better than most of the Large "one size fits all gamers" promotional Tshirts which are probably going to my brother. Except for the "If This Tshirt Doesn't Smell Then I'm Not Gaming Enough" one because even though it's big I like it

not that I smell, but maybe it'll prove a point to those who ask me why I don't have time to play video games

Lots of free goodies, too. I didn't get to play a lot because work was being a wanker for all of us so we didn't get down there until 7:30 friday night, when registration was CLOSED. But, I did play/see games like Muramasa (fffff so pretty), Blazblue, Fate/Stay on the PSP, Dungeon Fighter (I want this game)... and got promo codes for other Beta games for when I do have time like Dofus. I keep hearing that Dofus/Wakfu isn't that great, but ~gueuzav is one of the artists for it and I've been meaning to play it for forever. To say the least, it wasn't as enriching as I wanted to be since I haven't been as hardcore as I was a couple years back and I felt a little ashamed for that ;;; and a good half of the con was PC gaming, which I haven't gotten into as much. This is because I've had computers that weren't powerful enough... but speaking of which, I've gotten a better computer which means I'll *finally* get to play TF2 and Portal and the like sooner than I thought.

Saturday night/sunday I felt a cold coming on, which I've largely avoided but it left me feeling rather lethargic. We left early because of that, and, it was mostly con leftovers at that point anyways. So, we went shopping at Fry's 8D I didn't buy much, but I went home with The Triplets of Belleville. I didn't know it was hanging out on DVD around here, so I was quite happy to find it :> as well as single coloured radioactively turquoise M&M's... which... I bought purely for the strange nature of it. OTL

Also, I am getting a cellphone plan for next year so that I can actually roam without my service being a douchebag. *sigh*

As for artings, I ended up with another non-relevant full time job, so again I wound up with next to no time for it. It's such a vicious cycle-- I need free time to make something impressionable to GET a good job, but in order to get sufficient free time I need to have enough money to GET ME THROUGH. I'm not trying to be negative, because I will make it happen sooner or later. But in the meantime, finishing commissions comes first before I do anything personal for this year as well as doing other things for my sanity and spending time with ~afreak

TLDR;
I want to live at PAX, Americaland is a land of strange things (and food I shouldn't be touching with a 10ft pole), I need to win the lottery because I am so broke-ass poor right now, and I must focus on insanity and 4 hours of sleep a night to drawr moar.

Lately I've been pushing myself to get rid of that god awful long list of things I have to do. I've had some free time lately, which is KINDA not a good thing, but it also kinda is.

Haha, I also should be drawing, but to-do lists irritate me to no end, and I think I will stop buying and borrowing material.

Anywho! My life has been somewhat eventful. In the past couple of weeks, it has been deemed that I can drive safe enough on the roads without running over anyone or unintentionally playing bumper cars by myself. They don't trust me completely, though, so I'm only allowed one passenger.

Also, the Celebration of Light, a yearly fireworks competition is in Vancouver

I went to the first one, and intentionally went to the second one... ... except the beach weather turned to rain and thunder. I really wanted to stay, but we were also pretty convinced that the fireworks would be cancelled for safety reasons. We went to chill at a friends' place and played cardgames and what not, and while we were doing that... I noticed this VIBRANT orange sky in the background. Really amazing colour. Have a youtube vid for proofs.

In the end, the fireworks still went on. I was pretty sad to have missed it, because I was really looking forward to watching South Africa to compete. Not to mention my beach day was ruined! D; The fireworks were also pretty amazing, especially because there was lightning in the background. Well, I'm not totally sad; I still had fun at my friends' place, and I could still see the fireworks on youtube. Not as great as actually going, but it works.

You should also watch it. It's pretty cool.

Anyways, all I'm doing is babbling. I finished Runemarks. It was a pretty good book. And I will get to some drawings, because drawings are needed. Like my comics. Hurr. Maybe I'll be able to draw in this heat, maybe not. It's 30c here, and I'm enjoying it *_* even though I'm not motivated to do much... haha.

Err, I really should be spamming with art. This is my umpteenth June update. Sorry, guys

I promise after this that I shut up and share moar art.

I was recently discussing Chrno Crusade with ~Kakiri... and basically reliving why I liked that anime so much. Not as much as Matantei Loki, nooo. But Chrno Crusade was pretty well done, IMO. This may also be because I really like things from earlier in the 1900's and stuff. I liked their cars, their architecture... the movies and music were absolutely amazing and *very* tastefully done. I blame this on my parents for being so oldschool.

Anyways, I made a music video for Chrno Crusade way back when. Its debut was at Anime Evolution 2004, and probably the only time you would have seen it on the big screen. I was pretty ecstatic because I didn't think I would make the cut, but it did. It was the first one that aired, too. I'm too busy to make any more, plus I'd rather be focusing on doing my original stuff. Har har har.

I recommend not watching it if you have not seen the anime and do not want spoilers.

Saw The Hangover with a friend today. Hilarity ensued. After the movie I got a text message from my sweetheart telling the news of Michael Jackson's passing. To be honest, I didn't know what to think-- I wasn't a major follower, nor was I a huge fan, but I did like his music. He's had a poor image in recent years, too. But because his impact was so large, I couldn't help but feel saddened over it regardless. It was pretty shocking. It's sad that Farrah Fawcett passed away too, but we knew it was going to happen soon.

To insinuate just how large MJ's impact was, I think this was the fastest that news had traveled worldwide. Ok, Princess Diana's may have been faster, but I was young and didn't remember it at all. But seriously, everyone I knew already knew, except for my friend who had just come out of the movie with me, haha.

Anyways, Cartoon Brew pulled up some animated Michael Jackson related stuff that you may appreciate.

What a weekend! I gotta say, it was an extremely crazy busy convention. Thanks so much to everyone who stopped by! ;_;~~

... I didn't even get to go shopping ;A;!! People went to get food for me, even. I didn't have much time to chat with everyone. I was only able to see them briefly... except for =crazys and ~Cadychan due to them being my table buddehs and bumming in a hotel with =crazys. Even ~CrowMaiden and ~heyraynie were too far ;;; I did take 5 minutes to run and buy a couple of prints from Kidchan, though, since one of my friends were awesome and took over and erased the pencils on an inked commission.

This week is gonna be a busy week. Finishing up commissions, and fixing up my super lame portfolio website... which in the end, didn't have a link to my DeviantArt account D: I did not realize this until now. The business cards that I gave out (and didn't have a single one left of) had my portfolio website on it. Total fail on my behalf.

Unfortunately that's only 20% of my to-do list D: maybe less. I can't rest, so I gotta keep pushing forward.

Edit: I did it again. *headdesk* I wonder if I'm not meant to finish this print specifically? At any rate, I'm really having a case of the dumb for the week.

Taking a short break from the last CG I have to do for AE (ohgodohgod I only have until tomorrow to finish):

... WHY, COMPUTER GODS, WHY?!??!?! *wail* I know I fail and I forgot to save (as always) but that was one hour's worth of CGing DX... It wouldn't be that bad and it's drawn in a simple style, but there's 15 characters =u=;; which makes for more detail (and corrections that I needed to do after). Ugh.

At least it's not as bad as a story from my friend who's just finishing up a 3D program. There was a power outage around the area one day, and she had JUST saved her project right before the power outage. She jumps around in victory, ecstatic that she managed to save it. Her classmate right beside her starts spouting profanity and the like; his last save was probably about three hours prior to.

Also, an interesting fact about my kitty.
Tack does not afraid of anything... except for belts.
I was prancing around with an awesome looking shirt I just got and experimenting with some belts... and because of the slob that I am, I left one belt on the floor.

Suddenly, I catch Tack in the corner of my eye, frozen and acting funny around it. I turn my head and it turns out he's bloody scared out of his wits. He goes around inspecting it and trips over a toy mouse that's cast to the side, which startles him enough to jump back a few inches. He starts batting AT the belt, and because his claws are sharp, the belt FOLLOWS a little bit as he pulls his paw back. The first time he bats at it, he jumps back at least a foot. He continues coming back and trying to "fight" the belt... and starting hissing at it. Poor guy

; I took it away after that because he was super stressed out because of it. Even after that, he exercised great caution before entering my room. Kinda sniffed around the area for a good 10 minutes. Man, I wish I had it on video.

Hey guys! Long time no update. Ha. I'll start off with the bad news-- my current employer is letting me go. This means I go back to starving artist and student loan woes. Ironically, it's not because I did a bad job or anything, but simply because my personality didn't quite fit in the role they need to fill. I'm pretty upset about it, but there's an extreme positive to accompany this.

Which brings me to the good news. Clearly, my personality didn't fit because I tried to put myself where I didn't belong, but really, I knew exactly where I should be all along. This time, I need to challenge myself artistically. So, my hiatus is ending and I will be actively posting once again. In addition, I'm participating in three small projects in the side-- my own webcomic, a collaboration webcomic, and the next volume of the Zelda Anthology

It's an unstable rock to step on, but I will eventually find the balance. Especially since I have your support, so I'd like to give a BIG THANK YOU to all of my watchers!!

Those that have been watching me before, and those who started watching me during my hiatus. I tried to reply to everyone, but hopefully I can be a little more active this time.

Anyways, I got *really* addicted to Scott Pilgrim since the last entry. It's so amazing that it totally blows my mind. It's serious, but equally lighthearted... and I have a lot to relate to thanks to the massive video game references...

I've also been spending my hiatus from DA with my sweetheart and mah homies, eating yummy food with my sweetheart and mah homies, and working off all that yummy food with the two hours of free time I had off work. I could have used that time to draw, too, but my relationship is kinda pretty important, too XD

So yeah, look out for some new stuff. Is there anything you guys would like to see? These are NOT requests but, I happily take suggestions because inspiration is good and if I think your idea is cool (protip: I do not think any kind of weird nudie or fetish stuff is cool) I'll interpret it. Keep an eye out, though, if I have some free time I may do one of those "10 Free Requests" after Anime Evolution

Also, keep an eye out for my webcomic. I'm aiming for August, but it may be up sooner

Not that I've been very active lately, cuz life's been happening and all. I thought that would only be through Christmas but it looks like it insists on continuing, ha! So I'm going on official DA hiatus so I can worry about things that should actually be important.

Basically, I'm halting all artworks and journal updates, because I know I won't be able to ninja 100% (unfortunately DA is like an addictive drug where I have to watch every deviation like a MST3K spoof). I'll still be hanging around, but I thought it would be nice to announce that I won't be checking journals or artwork for the next month. ;;; in other words, you won't get a hold of me through journal shoutouts

you can comment or note me though, I'll still get those.

Don't think I'll be uploading anything anytime soon either, but I'll be working for sure on my webcomic so there may be some semi-activity. Check for updates there since they'll be more likely.

Commissions... aren't really "halted", but feel free to ask me anyways if you're intereste and don't mind waiting time.

Trying to keep up ;;;; really, I am. Christmas kinda threw everything at me all at once! XD

Also part of the crowd suffering the cold snap. Which is awesome because I love snow! It looks so pretty when it's fresh and white. It's a lot less depressing than rain. But it's cold! My fingers are currently frozen and I don't like going outside since I don't have the proper equipment for it. I had to wear a skirt today, too

that sucked bawls.

Anyways, I'm still (barely) alive. Just popped in to explain my AWOL and to clear my... 600+ total messages ;;;;;; I seriously did not expect work to be that busy, and setting aside time is a lot harder than one would think! XD;;; I have a very bad habit of setting aside the nonexistent time I keep thinking I have. D:

Really, I have better things to do. It's not my fault my brother came home with the game

but gaahhh. They changed the style slightly, and enhanced a lot of character movements... and now all the characters talk during ALL scenes... *_* which is a little awkward. Also a little annoying, because you WANT to hear them talk and act with their voices, but you also don't want to wait for them to finish talking. *A*
Lots of WTF right from the beginning of the game, though. Right in the opening scene, you find out that the main characters (Emil and Marta) absolutely loathe Lloyd, because he destroyed Palmacosta. WAT? I want to knowwwww. Arrgh.

They should have kept the original title. It sounds cooler. But then again it wouldn't sound like a continuation... orz

Also, I tried to pick up Twilight Princess again. I'm scared to go into the Gerudo desert though

so instead I've been collecting bugs. And... hopefully completing one more heart before I go in there

sometimes exploring areas is a little annoying, haha. I somehow got stuck in a battle near the westmost bridge where three Twilight Messengers ganged up on me and no matter what I did, none of them fell. ;;; But there's supposed to be treasure there :<

I... yeah. Too much gaming in the past couple of days. Today will be work...!

Time to get cracking! I've been busy the last few weeks, but hopefully things are wrapped up a lot better. I'm looking forward to the rest of 2008... not a lot of it left, but I finally got that inspirational hit.

I think one of the major things that did it was cutting off my commitment to part time work. It ended up not being part time, but I needed the hours otherwise my loan would have been a pain to pay off. I actually feel a lot better, so now I can spend more time drawing. Expect to see something soon, cuz if I don't upload something, you're welcome to bite my head off. Even if they're just sketches-- I need to stop planning projects for now and just gush out. Like, I'll post sketches and wips just as long as it's posted. Jesus, my DA is unloved.

Another thing that has my heart a-flutter is my anniversary with ~afreak soon

we have a few things planned~ honestly, I would have preferred a getaway but neither of us can afford that right now XD instead, we're just gonna geek it up at VGL and spend some quiet time together

Really, as long as I'm with him, I'm happy anyways. (I'll spare you the gushy details, cuz I could go on for a while

)

Thinking about pushing an online comic project for release in January 09. I've been inspired like crazy by my good friend ~Cadychan (who btw is starting some awesomesauce on her own at [link] ... I insist that you go see, especially if you play WoW!)... Not sure where to start, and I may need to ask a writer to help me D: cuz it's a lot of work. But we'll see how it goes! My goal is to have it out by January 09, so we shall see

In regards to the last entry, you guys totally rock

I really ought to break the rules a little more and just go by whatever ;;; especially since I'm a very "go by the rules or die" kind of person 8D

I also think my stress lately has a lot to do with my considering where I'm going. I feel better in my decision though-- when I think about it, I see myself somewhere in the animation industry

even though I've thought about illustration or graphic design, I still see myself there. Since that's the answer, I've got no other choice but to go forward

PS. HARVEST MOON ON WEDNESDAY. ARE YOU EXCITED? Anyone got any colouring tutorials or tips they'd like to share?

I've been feeling rather unmotivated in the colouring realm. I guess you can say it's never been the intuitive part of me *_* if I could draw all day, I would do so, but I've only ever coloured based on rules and never intuition *_* I'll try to get back to this practicing thing, but lately I've been throwing my arms up in frustration after a couple of hours of Photoshop.

Speaking of motivation, ~afreak took me to White Rock yesterday. It's not too far away, but the feel of the city is completely different. It was quite refreshing and inspiring

In cat news, I love Tack to bits despite the brat that he is. I swear he's the reincarnation of Snake, because not only does he play assassin all day long, he seems to have a fetish over hiding under boxes. Seriously, if you flip a box over, he'll attempt and successfully get under it and attack anything near it by swiping his paw from underneath. His favourite mode of transportation seems to be hitching a ride on someone's back/shoulder.

In other news, work sucks. It's been sucking up way too much of my time, and as a result I've been feeling stressed out like crazy. The only thing positive about it are my coworkers, but that's not even beginning to salvage it *_* I come home cranky and tired, and overall negative. I want to fix this!

You guys don't know how exhausted I am! I have to say that this really was my busiest AE yet. I was blown away at all the positive feedback, on top of all the commissions I recieved! Thanks for your awesome support, you guys ;_; it was really unexpected, and it made my weekend! Despite the fact that it was terribly busy, haha...! I didn't get to see everyone that I wanted to see ;_; but me and ~Chibi-Rinku bothered eachother randomly XD and ~chira-chira found me as well. Haha ;;; I never did get to come visit you again ;_; I'm sorry!

Anyways, thursday was the badge pickup and ballroom dance. The badge pickup was rather annoying because it was organized by numbers rather than last names??? It made me sad. I wanted to dance with ~afreak but when we got to the ballroom dance, not a lot of people were dancing, haha. ;;; I'm a terrible dancer and the fact that so few people were dancing made me a little self concious! Afterwards, we headed over to *heyraynie's and ~rukamousse's place as we were crashing with them the whole weekend~

Friday was... slow to start, then it suddenly picked up when people were suddenly and surprisingly asking for commissions! I ended up with 7 commissions on my list for that night. The majority of the day I was hanging out with *crazys, :develicrowmaiden: and =jagris and epic times were had. I was really happy to see =jagris because I thought she wasn't going to come!! But she did

I've been working all week (6-7 hours of sleep a night), and I only had 5? 6? hours of sleep that night. I ended up getting taken home by ~rukamousse and *heyraynie *_* where I was supposed to sleep, but I ended up working on commissions until 2 in the morning. OTL But I'm really glad they helped me push myself to do so, otherwise I TOTALLY WOULDNT HAVE FINISHED THEM *death*.

Saturday was more awesome. I got proposed to (twice!!) by ~Chibi-Rinku and a girl that was cosplaying the main girl character from A Wonderful Life ~~read: they gave me blue feathers~~. Sorry I had to turn you down, girls :B but I do love my boyfriend. XD
One of the guys kept bringing new people to see my table XDDD he was pretty awesomesauce!! I don't think I caught your name T_T I think I did but I don't remember. I'm sorry!!! Another guy gave me a video game of his to test out. I haven't gotten the chance to play it, but I'm really looking forward to it

Later that night I went drinking with ~rukamousse and *heyraynie and a lot of other people

that was fun. Then we went to see the 404's. They were pretty awesome hehe. Sleep tiems were had later on. Saturday sucked, though, because all the food places were closed

except for starbucks and the downstairs pub.

Because this time I had fallen asleep with ~afreak, it was... a lot more cozy and sleep enticing! As a result of that, I was an hour and a half late for artist alley. LAWL. I worked late on commissions too while everyone was hanging out before bed, so even though I gained an hour and a half of working time, I lost it right away.

Well, I guess I have to get my butt moving on cosplay, and artist's alley (assuming it's still going, as no one's been informed of change, as far as I know) after all! I'm gonna be busy the next few weeks. If you're also going to AE, please look out for the Zelda Doujinshi there!

It seems like they got the venue at UBC this year. This will prove to be interesting. This will also render me poor

because it's by the Eatery which means I'm gonna get drunk on ninja turtles, hello kitties and lolitas... and I'll end up eating miss piggies and x-rated rolls and bagel sushi. Hah! I love that place.

On another note, I read the latest Artemis Fowl book. I won't say much, but I'll gleen at you. It was shiny

and actually, better than the last book imo. Though it won't be another 4-5 years til the next book. Oh well. I also managed to catch up with avatar enough to see the finale a couple days late. It was really good! Kudos to the team. They really did an awesome job, and I'm looking forward to more.

I took a lot of photos recently at the aquarium. I also took photos of Tack

and also my room, which suddenly got a lot of space!!! Hopefully I'll have them up at some point (when I get rid of the monstrosity of their size hahaha).

Fireworks are this weekend, so I will be going to that with ~afreak

as far as I know, we'll be chilling with *heyraynie... Really looking forward to this! It is also a weekend off for me, which is quite nice because retail decided to chew down and swallow up my time due to unforseen circumstances. Hah. Oh well.

WE SAW WALL-E! It was such a sweet movie. I really liked all the old stuff in there too. Seriously! Oldies is full of some good quality stuff, man. I also loved the whole old meets new thing... and it was sad at the end

and so sweet. Eve was great. I thought of Samus.

I want this movie on DVD. Also Speed Racer, Kung Fu Panda, and Persepolis.

Which reminds me how much retail sucks

I want to get paid for the amount of hard work that I do. Actually, I want to get paid to draw! It doesn't matter too much if it pays as much as retail-- at least it's something I like.

I like the new DA layout, btw, because I'm lazy and this way I can scroll through everything a lot easier because you can PREVIEW IT ALL. The organization will take a little while to get used to, but I think this is a good start.

I also got tagged by ~projectautumn! I am not sure if I can think of 8 interesting things about myself. Let's give it a try.

1. I like to think I have an amazing amount of willpower. This probably reflects better as of lately, since I'm able to simply window shop despite having no money. This doesn't work quite as well when it comes to food, though.

2. I shipped Sakura x Syaoran hardcore during the CCS era. Then Matantei Loki came along. I still ship S&S, but unfortunately LokiMayu overrode them. I didn't ship any couples from Sailor Moon. I didn't like Tuxedo Mask. I just liked Sailor Jupiter.

3. I have this problem where things absolutely and indefinitely have to be organized 8D I feel super stressed out if it's not. My parents are pack rats and this does not help my case.

4. Slowly but surely, I'm trying my best to convert myself as green as possible. To start off, I'm shunning all offers to use plastic bags. It's a very, very, small effort, though. I'd like to do a lot more in the future!

5. I lost a LOT of weight over the past year. There's a little more I could still lose, so nowadays I'm eating healthier to try and shave off the remaining few pounds. Because of this effort, I was convinced that anyone really can do anything even if it seems impossible.

6. I don't really want kids. I love kids-- it touches me when I see tender parent/child moments, and I do find joy in giving them advice and direction... but when I think about the time and effort and MONEY it takes to raise them, it really turns me off. If I have to tackle the stress and exhaustion of kids, then I have to be available and financially well off.

7. I have a fetish for stars and bright colours.

8. I'm a night owl, but I really would like to be a morning person (LOL as I type this at 2am)... I love light, and I love sunshine

unfortunately I don't live near any great hiking spots, so I'd have to find transporation to get there.

No arts from me lately guys, sorry ;_; I've been trying to work on a couple of pieces though, really!!! My production ethic changed drastically a couple of weeks ago because my mother brought home a little bundle of ~~brat~~ fur. Lately it's been work, and then coming home to said bundle clawing up my leg, clawing down my leg, and gnawing on my foot/hand despite the repetitive "no's" and growls and hisses. He's ~~a brat~~ really cute though.

Meet Tack. This name got endowed to him because it feels like Tack Pins when he crawls up your leg, and he sticks to your leg like Tacky Glue. There was no hesitation in agreement when I suggested it. I've gotten next to no sleep because of him

Anyways, it's been really hot these days. Blissfully hot, might I add. It's not often that we get dry weather like this, and quite a pleasant change in my opinion

Vancouver's always so wet and dreary. I can tell you that I definitely needed the sunshine! I am even bronzing up quite nicely

I'm also looking forward to seeing Wall-E. I'm dragging ~afreak with me, but we haven't had time thanks to conflicting schedules.

I'll hold out though! It always took me a couple weeks to see pixar's movie rather than the day of. I am excited though. Everyone keeps saying it's Pixar's best.

I think that's it. I'm pretty tired right now.

But no sleep yet... (wow, DA's mood thing really is broken-- I'm not excited XD I'm sleepy!!!)

Lawl I realized I haven't updated this thing since Ota. Whoops! I think I was just too scared to update because then my punky pink journal thingie would go away. Oh well, I'll make a new one when I get a subby again. I'll probably buy one sometime in july, or I'll wait until my DA anniversary and buy one out of that.

Anyways, Otafest was pretty awesome. It was a lot different than AE, not to mention that I didn't know almost anyone so I shied away and hid behind my boyfriend most of the time ;;;... There was lots of hanging out with *crazys and ~Karasuu, and lots of drinking/sweatshopping with =jagris and co by night. I also got swamped by commissions! I really wish I could have taken more!! But thanks nontheless for everyone's support!!!

I also dragged Megan and Ashley to the Zoo ;;;; because when I heard a lot of praise about how great the zoo is, I really wanted to go!!! So many animals... we didn't get to see everything because the animals were so cute ;_; we spent a lot of time watching the sea otters ;;;; and the elephants were so cute T___T;; unfortunately the rainforest was closed because of the newborn gorilla, and the stingray exhibit since 40 of them died, suddenly.

My stay in Calgary otherwise was spent with Colin and his relatives, which was pretty awesome. I don't think we've actually spent that much time together before otherwise, so it was truly an amazing experience because personally I feel it brought us closer. I luffs him so much~

Getting back to Vancouver was, well, okay. It was back to work (ugh) and back to life's frustrations haha. The frustration of retail came back, especially, and taking care of doujinshi preorders will finally free up soon so hopefully I can get my behind back on track to websites and portfolios. There was also the saving grace of hanging out with Betty-- we had stupid smash brothers fun, and played mario kart with Colin. Then we went cosplay shopping and since it was a beautiful day that day, we ran around downtown vancouver. I also went to Eat! Vancouver recently-- that was a lot of fun! Especially the beer garden.

"Was that a NINJA??!?" "... more like a NONja."

I had the pleasure of seeing a pre-screening of Speed Racer a few days ago on sunday. It was *hilarious*, and in my opinion quite well done despite the ridiculous amount of cheese. I loved the artistry, the racing choreography, and well, yeah! I would like to own this movie when it comes out on DVD. If I have the chance and money, I might even try to see it again in theatres first. I recommend it to you guys

My brother also picked up Mario Kart, so I've been trying to steal his copy so I can play too.

I won't be able to see ~afreak much this week

due to a busy schedule... *BUT*, we'll be heading off to Calgary next week for Otafest for five days! I'm really excited

Even though it's likely we won't have much time to ourselves due to convention-related business, it's still my first trip (more than overnight) out of the province for at least 11 years now. And it will also be the first time I get to visit *crazys's abode

because she came so many times to visit me for AE, but I've never gone to visit her. Plus, it'll be her birthday weekend coming up~!

Oh! As for the Zelda Doujinshi, the book is *currently in print*~! Which also means preorders will be up by the end of this week.

I've been so busy lately!!!

I'll be able to draw more once the doujinshi is done. It's in the final stages~ we're just finalizing the printer and everything for now. GASP. I think I might purchase an extended sub. I'm normally not one to take advantage of these things, but it's been a blessing in terms of clearing out my box when I need to. My internets have been having spasms, and it's not tweaked to be as fast as I want it to

I still have a lot of things I need to attend to. I'm horrificly unorganized right at this moment, but I've been getting my stuff together so hopefully this will not be the case soon. Good weather has finally been hitting here. Save for today, the week has been absolutely gorgeous. I'm trying to get out more. I get cooped up all day in my room, and although it's nice to sleep in sometimes, it does get tiresome. So, I'm going to try cardio training. Much cheaper than the gym.

I have a part time job for the time being. It's pretty off target from my goal, BUT, it is rather reassuring that I'm not completely hopeless

plus it's an income for the time being until I find what I want. I am aiming for two jobs for now, because I'd like to put a dent in my debt.

Last but not least, I thought I'd fangirl a little and share with you guys how much I love my sweetie

he is very quite awesome to me-- enough that I never thought I'd be walking down the street and burst in a spontaneous grin. I really could not ask for more.

I haven't been able to spend much time with him lately because our schedules are conflicting, so we miss eachother a lot. I look forward to the time we spend together.

I could very well write an essay about it, but that's it in a nutshell hehe. I would need time to reflect because there is no way I can put everything down in one paragraph. I'll spare you guys

We got a really nice reddish-orange glow to it, too. Stars and the astronomy always fascinated me, and given the opportunity, I would split for a weekend to a campsite just to view an amazing show. I remember seeing the milkyway the last time my family stayed over at a campsite on our way to interior BC, and... wow. It really was the most amazing thing I've ever seen.

Unfortunately... I know more about astrology than astronomy haha. I could tell you about your personality etc, but I couldn't tell you the difference between constellations or whether the constellation is the big dipper or the little dipper

I really ought to look into this more, because as much fun as astrology is, astronomy is something solid and genuine. It's like watching CG effects from a movie, except this stuff didn't come from a computer. I guess that's the best way you could put it XD

Too bad solar eclipses don't come this way.

2007 had its super depressing moments ~~which wouldn't have happened if there were actually jobs available~~, but ironically it's the year where I definitely accomplised the most. I mean, I made two films, I'm... learning to manage my money a little better (ahahaha *cough* using it towards things I should be using???)... I finally beat WindWaker and Link's Awakening??? Hurhur. I also felt a lot better about myself lately (although the no job part is... still majorly depressing). I mean, for the first time *ever*, I managed to lose enough weight that there's a noticable difference, and I got in a close relationship with my friend of four years.

Not only does he tell me that I'm worth it, he believes I can reach/surpass my goals and gives me the confidence to step forward.

Now, for 2008?

I plan to make this year thrive with art. I also plan to get a job. HAH. Also, reaching my goals that I said I would

I'm going to travel a little more. And... pay off debts. Ha. Ha. And live a little

... and... well... I don't know! I'll aim for a healthy balance between working hard and being alive/happy, I guess?

I don't shy away from subjects. I'm willing to take upon almost anything, except for extreme graphic violence (the whole guts thing)... nor will I do anything sexually explicit. I can say this was a good turnout this year! I... still can't believe I ended up with more than one commission. So uhh BIG HEARTS AND COOKIES AND YAYNESS to you guys who came out to support me in commissions T__T it really, totally, truly made my weekend and I will definitely work harder. AND DEFINITELY to those who bought my prints!!! I'm absolutely floored that I sold out of things this year, as last year I just barely got by

no one wanted my bookmarks, lmao.

The creative side was definitely a lot nicer this year, too. There was a much more pleasant variety in cosplay, and artist alley was big!!! I didn't do too much events-wise because of the surprise amount of commissions. I had the absolute pleasure, though, to draw the super cute Katamari cosplayer

And there was this other super cute girl that kept coming by. She was the only one with the "hug me" sign that I hugged because she was so cute!!!

The highlight of AE anyways, was that I spent most of it with ~crazys~~ we had a lot of retarded perverted fun hahaha. And I had the pleasure to finally meet her friends whom I haven't been able to put a face to until the weekend! And indeed they are definitely awesome! I met *zin-jorden ~Karasuu ~spacevomit and ~Jade-Li. I had a blast with them the whole entire weekend. We saw Back-On (the Air Gear singers) at Timmy Ho's saturday moring hahaha. We went to Boston Pizza saturday night and we were all dirty and flirty with our waiter ;;;; but it was him who started the dirty jokes. And then ~spacevomit and ~Jade-Li left sunday night ;___; and *zin-jorden headed back with her party... so that left me and meggu and ~Karasuu to go to ihop monday morning. We shopped (I blew money on markers) and it tried to rain on us. I was so sad when they left though

I totally teared up because I couldn't believe they were going already -_-;;; I was totally happy to see meggu again~

Anyways, onto the Artist Alley fangirlism part.

I want to steal Betty and make her my Link for next year's con so I can cosplay Zelda~~ she's such a cutie

and so much fun to be around because we can geek and be all retarded 8D and and and Juby is a sweetheart too D: we had battles over trading artwork and fairness. Kurot was around too... but I feel extremely shy around her because she's so incredibly sweet ;___; and I just don't know what to say around her DX
Also, I was totalfail with Affy as we requested our tables to be next to eachother DX but we didn't actually talk until the second day...And there was Jing. I TOTALLY MISSED JINGIE. Such a sexy fun girlie~! It seems the bathroom is our fated meeting place. Huh.
I was even more totalfail when it came to visiting others ;_; Chira was all by herself bored out of her mind and I couldn't come visit much and she had a table all to herself so she couldn't quite just get up and leave, either x_x;;; so if things work out, we may just get a table next to eachother next year~ and I was thinking that I wanted to visit Juby's table more, but I totally didn't. -__-;; And I also saw my classmate T___T I missed her a lot too as I haven't seen her for a long time. She got a job right away and has been consistently busy.

Anyways, what else? I saw Ratatouille, finally. It was very charming ^_^ I really liked it. Nothing less from Pixar

I also watched The Myth with Jackie Chan. I liked it, and I fell completely enamoured with Martial Arts. I mean, I already liked it from shounen anime and stuff, but... seeing it in action, choreographed nicely was just wow! It was so beautiful! Aaaand I saw Harry Potter 5. That movie was ok, I liked it the most compared to the rest. But the plot was mehhhh. The book comes out tomorrow, so I'm really hoping that it won't be a disappointment. I have a really bad feeling that it will be!

And Transformers is still spinning around happily in my head. I know, I know, the plot was soooooo lame, but the pretty machines were so sexy! I mean, they were GUNDAMS, except they didn't fight like machines-- they fought like NINJAS. Is there a better combination?!??!

Well, I shall be off for the night-- I'm starting to edumacate myself with lots of different films. There's a lot of things I need to try to watch!

Cars... have never been quite that sexy to me until they TRANSFORMED. And FOUGHT. And were all super COOL and everything and OMG... *___* I have never wanted to fanart giant robots SO BADLY in my life.

... Seriously, the visual effects were enough to have me totally pwned. The story was weaved well enough, and although the last half of the movie was mostly fighting (and what some people said loss of storyline)... well... the fighting is what got me pumped XDDD I mean, come on! I read shounen manga for that same spectacular reason. I'm still epileptically fangirling and geeking, cuz it was JUST THAT COOL.

And when the vehicles drove down together in line, that alone made me joygasm in my seat, and dared to compare to hot men marching towards their mission in black suits and trench coats. ... ...Well, it didn't surpass it >>; but MAN it was still hot. I'm still feeling awfully happy. ^_^ I *have* to add this to my DVD collection. I said this about Pan's Labyrinth too, but HAY they're different categories ^___^;

Well... uhh... I'm pretty sure people are starting to get sick of people fangirling hard over Transformers hahahaha XDDD SO. That aside.

I've been spending way more than I should be lately. I need to start getting rid of things on ebay... and... I need to hole myself up in my workspace again soon! This week's been the worst in being dragged out-- I mean, I went and saw Transformers, and I'm going to see Parry Hotter tomorrow... and I have to see Ratatouille next week (they might not equal up to Transformers... ;;; hahaha). I also have my animation disc coming in, so I should HOPEFULLY start being productive! (I really should be putting together my flash demo reel though...)

I just ended up buying UdonCrew's sketchbook set. IMO, totally worth it because it's a collection of a bunch of my favourite comic artists on DA.

And then... it was totally worth it AGAIN about a day later, cuz another favourite artist of mine, *TraditionalDanimatio, also put up a sketchbook. His lines are absolutely beautiful, and I really couldn't resist at all.

So uh, NEXT WEEK I'm going to be good because I have to hole myself up anyways and work hard ^_^b so that I can really, truly relax. My poor TV is lacking some serious attention from me. I've been CGing here and there a lot more lately though, so hopefully something will come out of that

A-anyways... speaking of being good I'm gonna stop hanging around here for now ^_^;;

Where should I start? LOL It was a good convention. I spent most of the time hanging out with ~crazys ~SpliffmanCometh ~afuji and ~AtheLICE... and I saw lots of people in the artist's alley too whom I haven't seen for a while :3 uhmmm let's see? *joodlez *Chibi-Rinku ~jenarwen ~chira-chira ~o-kiyone-o ~yukibum and... hahaha probably lots more people :s I'm sorry if I forgot @__@;;; but most of my time was at the table, hahaha. I didn't make a lot of sales either, but I don't necessarily mind because I didn't have time to do much. @__@ next year I'll do prints. I did bookmarks but those were all so small! Hah. I wasn't much of a panel person about anything either, but that's okay. I should've participated in the Creation Station. But I just got lazy

maybe I'll work a little harder for next year. All that mattered anyways was that I was able to spend time with a lot of people I liked ^^. ~crazys had to leave back home for calgary though so that was a little sad ;_; but NEXT YEAR. THERE WILL BE IMPROVEMENTS. I hope.

Aside from convention junk, I've been working on an online portfolio (aka my webpage). I'm hoping to get this online by september. You can see it at [link] ... you'll have to wait for it to load though, since I'm using a cheesy redirect site

Artist's Meet: Saturday, September 3rd

Back from AE! Wowwww it was so stressful T_T and unfortunately the worst convention I've been to. Don't get me wrong, the convention was a blast, and a success. But for me, personally, I didn't get too terribly hyped

the only thing I looked forward to was the dealers' room and the music video contest O_O;;... now, let's see? Me and ~AngelM and ~crazys were stuck beside some really loud annoying group that kept on yelling out and advertising their "Ichigo's Spot". I mean... I honestly think they could've had some sincerity and not have done that at all. What irks me more is that they thought they were making more sales just because of their yelling and called everyone else jealous. o_<.... ok, they probably did make more sales than us, but HI, everyone doesn't really care about what they made. We just wanted them to stop yelling out T_T people had to tell them three times and they still didn't stop......
But anyways. That pretty much summed up our whole artist alley weekend. We were beside loud people, our sales sucked and nobody liked our art because everyone else's skills were l33ter than ours T_T.... I did get one sketch commission on sunday though, which... surprised me

maybe I'll put a bigger sign next year that we do comissions...

Other than that, the music video contest was AWESOME (someone made a music video about Canada! It aired at Otakon too!), I spent a GOOD chunk of my money at the Dealer's room.... I got a little Loki bank, I bought a bunch of artwork from other artist tables.... and I am completely filled up on Loki doujinshi >_< I bought like.... 14 doujinshi?? And three of them aren't Loki. The three being Final Fantasy (I bought it from ~elf-art! Her art is so pretty~~), Bleach (Hitsugaya centric of course... he cried!!) and a Harry Potter one (it's by Koge Donbo too!)... I would've gotten more Harry Potter, but it was all Ron x Hermione T_T ...... well there was one James x Lily, but that's Mchan's specialty.
I was also sick starting saturday afternoon, so pretty much half my convention was spent in cranky snarkiness and mood swings. Heh. x___x;

So, that was AE in a nutshell. What made AE a lot more exciting though, was the fact that ~crazys came to visit!!! So I got to drag her to Daiso and we spent lots of money XD XD we went TWO times >___<;;.... and I also bought Bleach figurines afterwards (since I had some extra money left over... it was a set with Hitsugaya *_*)... so she left yesterday morning.... and it's exciting because she'll definitely be back next year in attempt to drag her friends *_*;; and hopefully I'll be able to go visit her as well XD...

Anyways, I'll be sending stuff off to people. You know who you are.
It was awesome seeing everyone there <3 Too many to list!!! But I hope to see you guys at future artist meets T_T I can't go to september's though. *scowlage* but hopefully next time in october!

Went to Vancouver Film School today with Mchan to register for our comic book course. We got in. ^_^ And I wanted to ask about their full time animation course. So we talked to the representative guy. He's reaaaaally nice. -^_^-... Mchan was thinking of going to another school for animation, but now she's also completely taken for VFS. We're both going. Waiii waiiii

What I like about their program is the fact that they put you in animation studio simulation. And then after a year, they throw you into the real world. Which shouldn't be as scary because you just went through the simulation. ^_^ And it's cheaper too! So right now, I don't bloody care.
I *am* going to get a job. I *am* going to make an impressive portfolio. I *am* gonna become rich and famous with animation. Hah. And I *will*, one day, have SOME sort of Love Life. >_> I'm pathetic. Haha. But it's true. I'm gonna be practically living at the school, no time for BF's. But OH WELL. ^_^ I wanna take up animation! I'm so totally going for it.

Me and Mchan also went to Sophia Books earlier. ^_^ we got three issues of Newtype. >_> bad bad bad. Wandered into their german section... and... *GASP* what did I find?? GERMAN MANGA!!!! FOR $4!!!!! CHEAP!!!!!

So I got Sailor Moon. I can practice german now.
