I've discovered a new use for our twitter account. You can always go to the front page and find out the date of the last submission/join request we processed to figure out where you stand.

Also, =Kometto has asked that I bring this news article to your attention. It basically states the deviantART policy on traced works.

It's not against dA policy, but you just can't recolor things or make a few modifications to the original digitally. Whenever you use any type of reference it's always better to say it than not, as not crediting your reference makes the false claim that you made it yourself (a lie by omission). Also, don't go using the works of other deviants for a reference unless they say it's okay either through rules of stock or asking and receiving permission.

This isn't just AMA policy. It's dA policy, and it's better for your soul anyway. If you don't believe in souls, then it's better for your conscience.

As always it's better to read the word of dA and make your own conclusions:

I apologize for this: but all submission requests can only last a month, so a hundred have expired probably. If it expired you will need to send in a fresh request.

This is not a bad thing, you are very prolific, but you can only submit two pictures per month instead of four. I will be keeping a closer eye on the volume in case we need to push it back further in the future so we shouldn't have this expiration problem again.

The new rule of quality control.
The FAQ says "Anime-Manga-Artists does not decline art based on skill level, but effort. A five second doodle is not acceptable. But if you spent a long time on something and it isn't the best, that is fine."

But what does this mean for you, and why did we do it?
What it means
Even if your best looks nothing like this it will be accepted. Whatever your best is. However, we no longer accept doodles and art which you have not put effort into.

Why we did it
There are thousands of members eagerly wanting to submit. You only get to show one to the group a week. Why would you even bother submitting something that you haven't put effort into? But seriously, we're doing our best to keep the amount that shows up in the inboxes at a reasonable level while getting through the messages quickly. Give us your best art.

The Cosplay folder
Yes. A new folder. Just because you can't draw doesn't mean that you aren't an awesome seamstress. If you use that talent for a cosplay of an anime character or a character of an anime-styled video game you may now put that to the group.

Contest Commission Pool
Wait. Wait. Wait. I haven't even posted a new contest yet or mentioned this before. Well, that's okay, it's a new way of dolling out prizes and we'll see how it works this time.

The way it works is this: I have a lot of people willing to give prizes for contests at different amounts and different levels. Therefore, when a contest is over the winner will be able to choose a certain amount of prizes from the different pools (first, second, third) depending on what they want most.

Anyway, I present to you, , founder of , a club which offers an intricate teaching program.

Hoshi: Alright then.

First off, how about you give us a brief introduction. Be sure to include anything awesome you may be doing or planning.

3mo: hi, I'm 3mo. I like to draw manga, and I am the founder of #Exclusive-Manga . I enjoy teaching classes there every tuesday. I am also an editor for #TeamDevilDemon and will be editing their manga(s)! currently, I am interested in traditional coloring. I am looking into colored pencils and copic markers.

Hoshi: Damn, sounds like you're a busy kind of guy. How about explaining your teaching program?

3mo: yep........ I am busy-busy! I spend like 4 hours on computer daily, but on weekends maybe 6(ish)! And let's see..... explain the teaching program? ok, here we go..... It's pretty much, first you have to be a member to become a student/teacher. Then, to teach, you get bumped to co-founder and choose a day/time/subject/method-of-teaching before you start. There are a few teaching methods:

-chatroom lessons (interactive)
-livestream lessons
-blog lessons
-tutorial lessons
-takamin

all can be weekly or monthly. For students, you show up to the classes you want to enroll in (we currently have 11 classes, on every day of the week except thursday) and go! From the students, they say they learn a lot and enjoy the classes. The best thing about the program i that its free and interactive, so you can ask questions if you have them!

Hoshi: Awesome. How about the manga project? Can you give the club some kind of quick summary or anything?

3mo: Well, actually, I just joined. I'm not really sure what the manga is about, all i know is that i will be editing ..................

Hoshi: Oh... Well, if you don't mind me saying, it's quite odd to join a project without knowing what it's about. If you take any offence to that, I'm sorry.

Alright, moving on then, you mentioned being interested in traditional art rather than digital, what mediums have you tried,what are your current favorites, and why?

3mo: Well...... I currently prefer to use proffessional sketch paper, and water color paper. I also like hardcover sketch books, rather than spiral. For coloring i use watercolor or colored pencil. For sketching i use a brand of sketch pencils, i prefer using the 2H pencil, or a mechanical pencil with .05 led instead of charcoal pencils or normal pencils. I use a kneaded eraser, and find they do not smudge, which is very useful. hmmmm....... i like using pastel colors or colors that blend well rather than flashy colors........... also, i am not quite sure what you mean by 'mediums'. i took it as materials

Hoshi: Medium is the "official" term for what you call materials, and it makes sense, because you can have many materials in one medium, but not many medium in one material.
Continuing, How about other things aside from the visual arts? What other kinds of interests do you have?

3mo: 0_o what.do.I.like.besides.art *art is a lifestyle*? OK, wellll... that's pretty tough, because I'm either at home (which means I'm on here) or at school (which means doodling)..... Math i guess.... I like math and science, I like hanging out with ~Rndom-Obsessions and ~FlyingHatterCat ............ I like training my dogs, I like cooking, and i like to play the piano. I also like helping out my teachers (as a student aide)

Hoshi: Piano... any favorite pieces or composers?

3mo: ^^ i'm in my 6th year of piano.... I find i like Bach and Motzart (as composers) but i also like to find sheet music to popular songs! There's even ones for songs by Lady gaga and black eyed peas.... ^^ its cool to play songs along with the radio.

Hoshi: Ah, I see. That's pretty cool. Azuma: LOL It's fine aha Hm.. Well, when i was in first grade, i was really into Sailor moon so i would draw really horrible fanart (but yeah first grade you know?) I actually started ti really get into it in... fourth grade. I had a friend who drew well and I was totally motivated. Kind of stopped 5th grade because of an incident and finally in 7th grade i met a friend has been just the BEST.Totally became motivated by her LOL SORRY SO LONG;;
Hoshi: Do you mind if I ask what kind of incident?
Azuma: I don't really mind, but it's a really long story and i was just being a rotten little kid is all LOL

Hoshi: That's the one thing about my off brand tablet that I don't like, no eraser side to the pen

but nothing came out, so i opened my older drawings and started to draw on it but ended up erasing it, LOL. This is why I should read the manual first, ahaha

Hoshi: So, I think/hope all the members know who you are, but maybe we should have a bit of a basic run down of who you are, so Digi, describe yourself in a few words, I guess.

Digi: I'm currently the owner of AMA. I'm a busy college student. Detail-orientated creative writer.

Hoshi: Gotcha. You're a writer, and yet you run a visual art oriented club? That's a bit different.

Digi: Ha. Yeah. If you notice, there's not as much writing as there is art on my page too. I'm a writer and skilled in math, too. So I guess I just love not making sense.

Hoshi: Lol, sounds fun.

Digi: It's a lot of fun

Hoshi: Ever thought of mixing say... math, writing, and art all together as one?

Digi: I think that would be hard to do. But I think that something I'm going to do for pi day would suffice.

Hoshi: Ah, Pi day. Best day on earth for some nerds

Digi: Hehe. I convinced my family to go out and get a pie for it.

Hoshi: That's kick ass.

Digi: I guess you could say that.

This is how I see theme drawings working.

1. We the admins will come up with a prompt for which you the members will draw your idea of it, or the image that it inspires

2. We will have either a gallery folder or a favorites collection for you to submit it to when you're done

3. Themes will last a fortnight (two weeks)

There were also enough votes for random member interviews, so if you note me, =Hoshinoshini, explaining what I or another staff member could interview you on, I will pick one of you at random and you will be interviewed. To keep this completely random, I will not open any of them before I pick the person to be interviewed.

Please set the subject of the note to "AMA Interview", otherwise, it will be ignored.

I really don't like how... dead, we seem. I know that myself and the rest of the staff are working hard on organizing so that we can open, but I'd like to see more activity going on in this club, and so, I have created a poll for you guys to vote in.


I will use this poll to figure out what kind of activities we can run while we're working on sorting out this whole mess of organization.

Please note, Anyone asking for another contest or asking for all submissions to be opened will be ignored. There is another contest in the works, last I checked, and submissions will only be re-opened when we have all of our gallery organized. Also: about submissions being closed, they still are. I hope for them to be open within the month, but we'll see how that goes. I know you're excited to be a member and you can't wait to post, but this will make it easier on everyone involved. See, we're sorting all our old original and fan art submissions into new folders so that you can look through them better at your leisure.

Fortunately, dA has graced us with an auto-limit, so I can set that as I please and it will make sure that you follow the rules. So when it opens, everything will be great.

Of course, we'll modify that limit as needs be. And to be clear: Submissions are still closed

And since I hate writing journals/blogs about one thing at a time I have made a twitter account for this group: [link] and our most recent tweets will be on the front page. So you can check back from time to time to see about any minor updates (but I will post another blog for major things. Like submissions re-opening). Or you can follow us if you have twitter. I remember that around November 2008 we were flooded by submissions. Suppi reopened them in May 2009. For over half a year we were shut down. Seven months to be precise. We've been down...a month so far, maybe? So hopefully two months at most?

I've been on my butt holding off on decisions as of late, admittedly, so sorry about that.

But yeah. Now we've got this huge new house we bought, and we filled all the rooms randomly with every little thing that people dropped off wherever as they visited.

Not a pleasant sight, the volume was so high that we had to close the house down, and people couldn't drop stuff off anymore. So we're...just sorting things into the places that they need to be before reopening it.

Or...to summarize...we have even MORE folders. EVEN MORE, because the level on confusion that we were at was just not enough. Hopefully, all the new folder names will clear things up. But yeah, make sure that you get it right.

JUST TO BE CLEAR, SUBMISSIONS ARE STILL CLOSED! And will be until everything is sorted out correctly (More or less. Human error is involved). When that is done, submissions will be re-opened.

Also, it seems that we do know what we want for our new submission system. Which is not the messy alphabet system. So, don't worry about it. It got shot down, in flames. Kind of a pretty sight, actually. So that's off of things you can talk about.

But, just go here and let us know how you feel about other things on there, if you haven't already.

Submissions, temporarily, are down. Only temporarily.

We were all used to a smaller group, which was easier to manage. Here are some stats for you to read and think about:

I did moar voo-doo math. (Okay, I checked our activity)

We get over 1600 submissions requests in a week. 300 are BS. So 1300 legit submissions. Which translates to about 250 a day. Just to translate: We now get in one and a half week's time the amount of submissions we received in total for two years as a club account (1900)

We also get 800 join requests in a week. Which means every week we get about as many new members as we had in total over the course of two years as a club account (950).

So, please bear with us. We're really backed up with submissions right now. We are going to go through them as we can. In one or two weeks we should be able to open submissions again. But, there will be limits and a new system in place just because of how many people there are and how many people I expect to continue to join. Hopefully it will work fairly and evenly, yet still be small enough so that you all can watch the club's deviations and appreciate them all.

Okay, naturally, people would have to message me first, and we'll try to figure out what general time frame works. I'm generally online 3:30 - 5:30 pm, PST every week day. Those are pretty much the guaranteed hours, other than that, I usually on ALL of the week end unless I work or if my cousin is online. But Either way, When sent a message is sent to me, I usually respond within 10 hours at the very very latest.

I'm currently in preproduction for a solo animation project.

Some details about the project

This is really more or less a test to see what I can and can't do with traditional animation. It'll be around 4-5 minutes long, mostly a fight scene.

Characters:
Alarice
Seemingly the only person in a large empty city. She appears to be well trained with the Arming sword.

Age: Around 20
Height: 5'5"


Demon Master
Comes out at night, brings along a horde of lesser demons to search the city for... something.

Age: Timeless
Height: 7'9"


And those are the only two characters that matter, really. I might have one more, but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm currently looking for some voice act(o)r(ess)'s, I'd love if I could have some voice extras for the demon horde, and a voice for the Demon master. I *think* I've picked who I want for Alarice.

If anyone wants to audition, you will need to be able to export your recordings as FLAC format. If you want to audition, but feel like I won't like your voice, go for it anyway, I have no idea what kind of voices I want in the demon horde, though I do have a specific sound in mind for the Demon Master.

So, there were a couple of things that everyone wasn't altogether clear on.

I've already clarified these with the new staff, but they have caused...a few problems. And I couldn't keep track of everything, so I'm not sure which of their misunderstandings passed onto the members. So I'll just clarify everything, in case that it did.

No Mature Content is accepted. The general-rule of thumb is "Can you show it on cable before 9 p.m. in America?" So, this usually translates to no nudes, unless covered by sheets or other articles of cloth. Swimsuits are alright. Small amounts of blood are alright. This is at the bias of the member, but some staff were a little confused on our limitations.
If you recently had a submission rejected for mature content, but you don't really feel that it was deserved, send ~DigiTails or ~Hoshinoshini it in note. Either one of us tell you if you can resubmit it. But only if you can send it to ~DigiTails or ~Hoshinoshini in a note, and only if it was rejected January 11th or January 12th, 2010

Submit it to the right folder. If you cannot do that, then you will be directed to the correct folder. Art of characters that are not your own technically belong in the fan art. But if it belongs to your friend, while it's technically fan art you can submit it to original if you don't want it grouped with fan art of official things.

If a submission is rejected for any reason, aside from mature content, you may submit it again.

Our current limitation on submissions is "one at a time." Once you submit one picture, you cannot submit again until that request is approved/declined/expires. You must wait. An easy way to keep track of this is to NOT DELETE the message telling you what you submitted to the group. It will tell you if it's been declined/approved/expired/still waiting.

Another word, from submitter =MugenGinga, who was a little unclear about a rule and made a few mistakes recently, and feels really really bad about it:

I got note from another Admin (=Sazuki-Lockheart) that I've been tagging some of you as breaking the rules when it in fact came from my own misunderstanding of the rules. This is only those I've tagged in the past three or four days, as those I tagged before then were due to multiple submissions in the queue at once.

I've beaten myself up rather thoroughly over this, and I really feel the need to apologize. Rest assured, those of you that were warned during this period are not on the warning list. I told the other admins to put those warnings on hiatus, and now they'll just be disregarded. My only other option would have been to track people down individually, and while I feel bad that would take hours.

So this is a formal apology to the group at large. There isn't going to be action taken against me, but I give my word that I now understand the rules. I realize its an honest mistake, but I still feel like crud over it. I really do apologize for the mistake and any inconvenience I caused.

That's really awesome and all, but that also means that we have more submission requests to deal with!!!! Currently we have over 250 messages, mainly submissions, and with most of us heading back to school, that makes our time spent here even shorter.

So please: the rules are here for a reason!!!! Read them, respect them, obey them!

ONE SUBMISSION AT A TIME! Wait until your original submission has been answered BEFORE submitting again. That means: BE PATIENT! It can take us up to 3 days right now to get submissions answered!!!!!

So in conclusion: do us all a favor and be aware of the rules and any changes to them.

I've done some voo-doo math, and I figure that if our current staff were to be on all day everyday and did nothing but eat, sleep, and work on the group, we'd be behind by several months by the end of April.

Okay, not that bad. We'd be barely caught up. Yeeeeah. Maybe I'm still exaggerating, because I hope I am.

However, I think that I've made a definitive point.

Which is that: We need help. Kuri and I will be returning to a full-time college semester schedule, which will barely permit any work on the group. I dunno about the rest, but I'm pretty certain that they're doing the best that they can. And we're already behind.

BUT I HAVE MOAR NEWS. Moar. It involves me being nostalgic. Over things that happened a year ago.

I never realized it until recently, but I came to AMA a few months after it was founded. During that time I sent in an app to be staff...every opening. But it wasn't until...May 2008 that I did become staff. A little less than year later Suppi surprised me by making me co-admin (now known as Co-Founder) when she opened up applications again. Around this time Hoshi was made co-admin too (I recall him being surprised as well). Six months later I found myself in charge of AMA as Suppi stepped down. Of course, it made sense. By the time I was made co-admin I was basically doing everything that a co-admin did. And as Admin/Founder...well...I'm just as baffled and confused about that one as I was back in October.

So. Ah, I think I should now get to my point: In honor of surprise promotions-that-do-make-sense-because-they're-already-doing-the-work-I-expect-of-co-founder I'm promoting someone.

this contest involves drawing creatures to be used in Forsaken Valley.
There are three creature types to choose from; One is normal, two is dark and third is a new race.

Normal creatures are pretty straight-forward. Stuff like bears, dogs, etc.
Things drawn for the creatures gallery are at least required to be suited to the cold valley temperatures. Thick furs, skins and features designed to be useful in the snow. Be creative.

Things drawn for the 'dark' category are a little more complex and fun. Dark creatures are evil, unnatural creatures.
They must retain some resistance to the frigid valley temperatures, but otherwise anything evil, dark and dare I say 'satanic' will work here. I need minions for the heroes to fight against, after all.

'New Race' is a little more complicated. It can be anything you wish, but if they aren't suited to the cold naturally, then they must dress to be cold-resistant; thick cloaks, coats, pants, whatever. I might not use much submissions from this category unless I can work them into the story and the histories behind the valley. Be as creative as you wish.

Some other general rules are as follows;
-I need a couple profile poses. Front and side views mandatory, back and 3/4 views optional.
-It must be simple to draw. If there is detail to be added, I can add it later, but the concept must be something I can handle drawing or can practice drawing.
-NOTHING EXPLICIT. Sorry, but I don't get private access to a computer; I don't want to get in shit for looking at anything suggestive.
-3 max entries per contestant. I don't want to get swamped, and I only have so much free time.
-A little backstory is always good. If it's a creature, it can be as simple as it's either an omnivore, carnivore or herbivore. If it's a dark creature, it can have strengths and weaknesses. If it's a race, that might be a little more complicated; it would be best just to leave this flexible, so I can work it in.

Other rules will be added as see fit, winners will have a fullcolor, photoshopped illustration of their entry as drawn by me and have their name in a page of the comic.
There is no projected deadline as of right now, but I will finalize one sometime in the beginning of the new year.

Flash does need to be the anime-manga style.

I apologize. My college semester is starting again, so I'll likely not be on quite as often as I have been. But I'll be back in a few days to hear your thoughts and rain my judgment down upon the group....okay, I'll be back on Friday, see what you have said, listen to what the staff has said already (and any more input that they offer) and make the necessary changes. Oh, and I'd like to remind you to vote in our contest.

Today's changes include:
SUBMISSION LIMIT
This is a big issue, considering the sheer volume that we get from the different members. So it's going to be cut down to ONCE A WEEK no matter what. But there are a few ways to do it, and I'd like to hear your feelings on what you think would be the most feasible option. Don't worry about how we'll enforce, we can handle any of these.
Strictly once every seven days. If you submit on Monday, you can't submit again until the next Monday, or later.
Loosely once every week-period (starting on Sundays, ending on Saturdays). No matter what day of the week you submit on, you can submit again on the following Sunday. However, you can't submit again until the next Sunday.
An alphabet system restricting the day you can submit on, based on your username. It would work like this: Sundays- #-B, Mondays- C-D, Tuesdays- G-J, Wednesdays- K-N, Thursdays- O-R, Fridays- S-U, Saturdays- V-Z. Shot down in flames, we will NOT even consider this system.

ACCEPTABLE ART
I don't want to be an elitist group, AMA is open for all works of any level of quality. But there comes a point in time in a group's life where a line has to be drawn. But I'd like to draw a line after hearing your opinions on my thoughts of where the line should be drawn:
Submit only complete works to the group. None of this unfinished line art business. No WIPs. Finished pieces only. Pieces that you put your heart and soul into. Not a sketch that you turned out in five seconds when you can do better.
But if that's the best you can do, then tell us. If you can't afford the materials to turn a pencil sketch into a fully colored/inked piece, then that's fine too.

What are your thoughts? Please keep in mind that there are around 4600 members with lots more joining every day. (Also, disputing them will not get you kicked out, that's why I'm putting them up here)

He is a film student in his final year who is in need of some anime artwork for a short film he's making about a woman who becomes obsessed with Japanese pop-culture.

If selected, your artwork will be featured in this film. The three best artists (judged by , not the club) will each receive a copy of the final DVD and the runners-up will each receive a special download link.


Here are the requirements:

- High resolution images (300 dpi, at least 1000/1000 pixels)
- Character on plain white background
- Has to look as Japanese as possible! But I also need variation: from magical girls, to kawaii monsters, to cool warriors

But there are a few things I really need to say.

There's this bug with groups where the permissions are suddenly, without rhyme or reason or warning, revoked. Permissions are what allow the members to submit deviations and what allows staff to approve the submissions.

As founder, I never get any permissions revoked. Go me. But when they are, contributors don't get any messages and they don't get the ones they miss out on the bugs. Which means Hoshi (since I've never had a problem with Co-Founder permissions and he hasn't complained about them) and I must approve all the ones made during these times. And there's a lot of you.

In essence: Please be patient. Groups are still Beta, and dA is trying to fix this as soon as possible. If you can't submit, let the club know and I'll fix that ASAP. But please. Please. Don't submit pictures twice.

Also. Don't submit the deviations of other people. I know you can. But if the artist wants it on here they can join and submit it themselves. I don't think we're having a problem with join requests.

And another matter. Mature content. We don't allow anything more then pg-13. A little blood or gay/lesbian pairings are fine, so long as they're pg-13. Comics involving words like damn & ass are okay. And the limit will be more or less based on the bias of the staff viewing your submission. So please use some sense when submitting your deviations for approval.

Did I mention that there are a lot of you? Over 200. And you all want to submit a lot of stuff. I get that...but...say each one of you submit 5 pieces everyday. That's over a thousand in volume each and every day. I know that you all don't submit that much. There will be maybe a hundred tomorrow. And you probably don't want that much in your inbox. And I do love how active and involved you guys are. I really do. Don't get me wrong.

But. Please. Please. I can't actually make and enforce an actual limit, but please. Limit yourself. One every day, or every other day.

Here's how it works. If you submit in bundles, everything but the first piece that you submit will be automatically denied. And I may or may not tell you why. Say you submit five pictures in one go, the last four will be rejected. When you were accepted as a member, you were given a link ot the rules, and if you read them and you're watching the club like you should then you'll know the limit.

Also, sometimes you may submit something choosing the right folder, but it will be put in for our Contest Entries. Please, double check to make sure before submitting. If this happens, then...well...it can be fixed without you having to resubmit the picture in the right category.

Another thing. Submissions will forever more never be accepted by note. If you send us submission notes, WE WILL NOT ACCEPT THEM. You'll have to do it the group way. Once I figure that out and open that up for you guys.

But joining is totally open. JOIN US! BE MEMBERS! Just head to the front page. It will tell you to join. Somewhere. At the top, I think. But you cannot be a member by sending a note. You have to request to join on the front page. Isn't that easy?

I have made my staff decisions. I read each application that I received thoroughly and...it really wasn't easy. There were so many of you that I wanted. So I...picked a few more then the 1 or 2 I originally had stated for each varient of the contributors position, and the 6 for commissioners. That said, if these don't work out or if I wind up needing more, I have a few other applications hanging around that I'll look into.

For Misc: =Coconut-Thief, ~cute-nina, ~Dark-One-6301, and *Kometto
For Submissions: ~buru-neko, *CrispinTwig, *Mekura-Tamashii, *Nyiana-Sama, and =Sazuki-Lockheart
For Contest Comissioners: *Asanashina, *Cielface, ~DragonOlong, ~L-I-A-R, ~Lumenox, ~quiteLOVELY, ~sanmo999, and ~Shunshuu-Tsunami

And that's it, I think. I had a lot of good choices to pick from, so, if you applied but didn't make it, know that it's nothing against you. At all.

I'll still be interested in anyone who could donate subscriptions or features for contest winners, but that's it for right now.

Today:
I changed the FAQ, I put on some new questions and I changed a rule. You can only submit two pictures a week. One submission per note. I WILL be checking this, so follow it.

Nah. I just like you guys and I'd love to get a contest running.

I'll be announcing a contest in...two weeks time.

But with all the work getting the new staff adjusted, college, and figuring out prizes (and voting) I was wondering if any of you, members or not, would like to come up with an idea for the contest and lighten my load. In two weeks I'll pick the one I like best or give you my idea. If I pick yours, I'll give you a fully colored digital picture, background and everything. Maybe like this if I'm in the mood [link] but more probably like this [link]

If I don't pick it, I might use it later and I'll give you the same sort of thing then.

Good. Two weeks. November 20th is when the new contest will start. You have until the 17th to turn in a suggestion, however.

Information About Joining
Can I join?
Are you a living breathing human being? Are you capable of reading and following our rules? Are you a fan of anime and or manga? The answer should be yes to all of those questions, and will not be checked as those questions are basic enough to be an implied yes when you request to join.

How do I join?
On the front page there will be a button that says "Join this Group" click it. Advertise us in your journal or signature.

How do I advertise?

But without the spaces.

Do I have to watch the group?
I won't check to see if you are and kick you out if you aren't. It's generally recommended, though, that you do. If the submission amounts clutters your inbox too much, feel free to not watch us for deviations. But watch out for journals, because the rules may change, and even if you don't know you'll be held responsible for knowing.

What do I need to say in my join request?
Yeah, there's a blank space there, where you're prompted to say something to the group. You can use that to ask important questions, but AMA isn't exclusive. You don't have to write an essay to get in, or anything for that matter, but a "hello" or a "thank you for your time" is appreciated.

Can I become a member through note?
No. That doesn't work anymore.

I watched the group, but I'm not on the member list, why?
You have to request to join to become a member.

I sent a request a while ago, and it expired. What gives?
Life. I'm very busy. Any staff in charge of admitting members is busy. It's easier now, I've got it on the longest amount of time possible, but it may still expire. Just request again.

While I wait, can I submit stuff?
No. Only members may submit content. You have to wait. I'm sorry.

Well, the process is different depending on if you are a group or a club. Groups have the # next to their name and are run on the groups platform. Any of these staff positions can still: submit work to the group and participate in contests.

Submitters: OPEN (3-4)
Description: You submit art to the club's gallery. All you'll need to check before submitting is if the piece is mature content or in the right folder.
Time consumption: NEW SLAP A BUTTON TECHNOLOGY. 30 seconds to one minute to make sure that everything's in order per submission.
My expectations: This is a large club and there's a lot of members. Not all of them are active, but a lot of people submit a lot of pictures each week. So maybe at most clearing 30 deviations a week.
What this could mean for members: You don't have to wait long periods of time for submissions
Application:
How often you could help with the group-
Why you should get the position-

Misc: OPEN (2-3)
Description: You will take care of the join requests.
Time consumption: Ten seconds per member.
My expectations: Once a week, at the least. I'll discuss other things to do when you're accepted as staff.
What this could mean for members: It would mean that they wouldn't have to wait as long to become a member.

How often a week you could add members-
Why you should get the position-

INTRODUCING A NEW POSITION
Spotlight: OPEN (1-2)
Description: You will handle spotlight notes sent to the group.
Time consumption: Less than an hour each time
My expectations: Handle about 3-8 commission notes and 1-2 contest notes a week.
What this could mean for members: They get to advertise their commissions and get more money, or get more people participating in their contests. Particularly useful if they don't have a lot of watchers.
Application:
How often a week you could handle spotlight notes-
Why you should get the position-

Contest Commissioner: CLOSED
Description: You will be asked to give prizes to those who place in contests. At the beginning of each contest, you will be asked if you are able to give out prizes at the end when the winners are announced.
Time consumption: However long it takes you to dole out the prizes.
My expectations: I'd like the prizes to be finished by the next contest.
What this could mean for members: They get awesome prizes beyond the couple I've already got in mind.
Application:
What you could donate- Art, crafts, whatever.
How many you'd be willing to give for any given contest-

I want to make an official Journal Message thing, so everyone isn't confused about what's happening here.

Yes I am giving Ownership of the club to Digitails.

Why am I doing this?
Around March or April, my family was no longer able to pay for Internet.
The only places i can get it is School, and my Mom's.
My mom's computer is so old, it almost freezes when it hits a page with Flash, and my school's comp blocks a bunch of stuff.

Not only that, school has been kicking my butt, as well as work.

Anyway, i think i just need to sit back and become just a regular member, and watch it go by.
I don't know if i'll ever regain my throne, i might never want to.

I just really want to say, that ruling over you guys has been fun. I'm glad so many of you put up with me for so long XD;
And I hope Digi does a better job than I did.

Digi here. I don't know if you're aware of this, but every time staff does something for the club, they note ~Wings-of-Ash with what they did. During one of these correspondences, Suppi said that she was putting me as admin so that I could do whatever the club needed.

IMPORTANT!
I'm not going to be doing much to the rules, except to tone down the volume of submission notes (Hey, I'm just as busy as you are, and I get more submissions than I can handle, even submitting once a week). In a few weeks I will be hiring staff. DO NOT APPLY if you can't be active. I'll have more on that later when I get around to it.

AROUND THE SAME TIME, I will be starting a new contest. But, I'm going to have to change the prizes, since so much has happened since our last contest. IF YOU WANT TO DO PRIZES FOR THE CONTEST, I will post more info once we get closer to that.

Um, as for the Spotlight? Hoshi, if you're reading this, I would appreciate it to the power of a million if you could still do that.

Also, make note of this. Suppi gets obsessed with things. Often. No idea how long these obsessions last, and when they'll occur, but when they happen, she becomes too emerged in whatever the obsession is, that she tends to ignore ....everything. (My poor cats and family..).

So if you notice =Wings-of-Ash is being very Neglectful of the Club, just make note that i'm probably obsessed with something.

Good thing about these Obsessions? They're usually things like Books, Movies, and TV shows. And all of those things eventually END.

For the past few Months it's been..
Twilight. [Book series has ended and the movie is out.]
Total Drama Island. [Season 1 has Ended]

Right now it's Justice League. I have 1 1/2 Seasons left, and I'll probably get back with life.

So i'm sorry for the long Rant, i just thought i'd shed a little light on why I disappear sometimes.

Sooooo Anyone notice how the Club is pretty much Inactive lately?

I have.

So. To clam things down and to stop the Club from being so Overloaded that it's impossible to Catch up... I'm making a Rule.

A Temporary Rule.


As of this day Nov. 23rd 2008. The Club will no long take Submissions All Notes with submissions in them after Today will be Refused.

Don't freak out. It's only Temporary until we're able to get the Club Caught up.

We'll still add Members and such, but all Submissions notes will be refused.
So.... if you don't read this journal, then tough luck.
