Noah got a hamster today. It's a dwarf hamster. He named it Nibbles. It's really freakin' cute.

I also babysat last night. After the kids went to bed I played Wii Sports. I think I threw out my arm. I played, like, 1946198643756 rounds in a row. It was awesome.

Sean stepped seductively out into the pink sunshine, and admired Rafa's leg. "Ah," he sighed, "That's a thick sight."

Rafa climbed off the apron and walked quickly across the grass to greet her lover. Sean patted Rafa on the back and then tried to hold her slowly, but without success.

"That's all right," Rafa said. "We can try again later."

"I'm just not unbelievable," Sean. "Not as unbelievable as the time we touched on a chair."

Rafa nodded mind-blowingly. "We were juicy back in those days."

"Our hands were younger, and we had a lot more fun with them," Sean said. "Everything seems hopeful and dark when you're young."

"Of course," Rafa said. "But now we're cold, we can still have fun. If we go about it thoughtfully."

"Thoughtfully?" Sean said . "But how?"

"With this," Rafa said and held out a lovely coffee. "Just take that with some water and in half an hour, you'll be ready to hold."

Sean swallowed the coffee at once and sure enough, in half an hour, they were able to hold thoughtfully. They touched like flying. Three times.

And then the neighbour told them to get off his lawn.

1. Jonny Depp is filming the movie "Public Enemies" here in Wisconsin. Colombus, actually. Everyone's been freaking out about it. It's so bizzare. They've redone the bank there and paved the streets with rubber bricks and such. Made the front page of the local section, and it's in the paper everyday.

The russian doctor man I went to said I had a viral infection. Not strep and pink eye. It's all just one thing. He gave me some eye drops and my dad and I went out to get some bagels.

Life's going pretty well. Drama club is chugchugchugging right along. I feel sort of swamped by all the music crap I have going on. My trombone teacher keeps on giving me more and more stuff to practice, and I haven't done anything with them yet and the lesson's today... *sigh* I just want today to be over. I could really go for some tacos with guacamole right now.

And the preview for the next episode had an art idea that was hanging around in my head for the longest time in it! Adam jumping (or walking away coolly) in the air with an explosion in the background.

Wicked sweet.

And I was also surprised that Jamie was so tolerant about hitting baseballs at high speeds in his shop. He's usually pretty anal about that stuff.

That's it. *sigh* So tired. Yet so not tired. I feel like going to the chocolate shoppe today. I could really go for a truffle.

Ezra got me a copy of The Else! It's very neat. Here's my mini review.

Bee of the Bird of the Moth: It's the first on on the CD he gave me. The first three notes get me every time. They're so, how should I say this, sarcastic? The winds section really spices things up and gives the sound more fullness. What does 'STP' mean?

Contrecoup: When I first heard this song I was already sick of it. I've had the original version on my MP3 player for weeks so I'm kind of bored with it. The added lines threw me off. But the tempo change and the end was a pleasant suprise that won me back. I still skip it sometimes. It's the equivalent to 'Pictures of Pandas Painting' for me.

Feign Amnesia: Does to feign amnesia mean to pretend not to remember anything? I'm not sure I understand, but then again they're not writing songs for us to 'get' them. The drumming at 2:14 is the best.

The Mesopotamians: I managed to memorize all the names. I feel so proud. I'm still getting this "We're The Replacements" vibe from it because it's a song about a band. I'm struggling to remember from my youth what a mesopotamian is. Oh TMBG, why are you the only band I listen to that makes me do research?!

Withered Hope: I. Love. This. Song. The way it starts, the way it gets exciting in the middle, the way it ends, everything. If I were a spy and I got my own movie, that would be the opening theme. The piano plinks during Sad Sack's plea for Withered Hope's love reminded me of the Kingdom Hearts soundtrack.

Careful What You Pack: It was totally written for Coraline. But the first time I heard this song I didn't realize that. So I heard it for what it was and nearly cried. It was just so... so... beautiful.

Climbing The Walls: And then there was Linnell and his song. "Climbing The Walls" is the 'AAAAaaaagh' song. It's the song about changing things from the mundane to what feels right, which is the strange.

Take Out The Trash: Aaaaah. Flans and his "song-that-sounds-like-it-should-be-rarely-played-on-Z104.1-but-it-isn't" song. I'm struggling to memorize these lyrics. So many of the words sound alike.... O.o...
I don't really have to say much about it right now. Like Contrecoup, I've already heard it dozens of times.

The Cap'm: Yes, I do like your hat. And your song. They look good on you.

The Shadow Government: There's something about going through your music and renaming the songs by yourself because it's to dumb to label itself that makes you happy. Just a bit of thought. Now for the song. I'm kind of wishy washy about it. It's okay, but it doesn't really float my boat. The vision of a humvee speeding up the library tickles my funny bone.

Upside Down Frown: I heard this unplugged on a radio interview the Johns did. I liked it. But when I heard the "delightful drum loops" I fell in love. Again with beards and rainbows. "Hotel Detective in the Future" anyone?

With The Dark: The lack of relation between the sections of song reminds me of "Fingertips" (I feel really guilty for comparing songs). Linnell says it's his favorite song on the album. I did my research on the Wiki and it is a lot like "Puppets Gonna Fuck You Up".

I'm Impressed: Enough said.

I drew a picture of Ezra last night. It was friday and I was walking past his house after leaving the library. He came out of his house and dashed down the stairs to give me a hug. I nearly dropped my books.

So I drew a picture of him coming down his front steps.


Oh yeah. And I've fallen in love with public radio. So yesterday we had a garage sale and I had to stay outside in case anyone came by. So I made myself at home in the garage and set up a chair, Charlie's radio, 'Assasination Vacation' by Sarah Vowell, my homework, and a small note book and a pen for doodling. So I sat there until 4:00 when This American Life came on. I love the sound of Ira Glass's voice. He sounds like the guy you'd overhear at Barnes and Noble talking to a stranger about a history novel near the small in-store Starbucks. The topic that day was Habeus Corpus. I can't recall exactly what it was, but it involved Middle-eastern Detainees and very mean army people. And a british guy talked about Puritans and how they think they're a bunch of jerks who banished people to unknown lands. I was kinda sad. I was looking forward to hearing Sarah Vowell, or John Hodgman. It would've been nice.

Then A Prarie Home Companion came on. Garrison Keillor has the coolest voice. I know it's like old people radio and stuff, but I like that program. It's nice. I listened to it while cleaning my room and suprised myself when I laughed at one of the jokes about Norwegians. Fred Newman, the sound effects guy was hillarious. He has to adapt so quickly to Keillor's stories. First he'll be doing banjos and then he'll be doing exploding garbage. And then exploding banjos. That sound made me laugh.

And then I listen to Old Time Radio Drama on the WPR station. Why don't I just make a list of my favorite shows?


91.7 WSUM - Gameshow 10:00-11:00.
(I love this show. It's hillarious. It's on the UW sation recorded by a bunch of students. They pretty much play games over the radio. Like Apples to Apples or spelling bees or Mad libs. The best was celebrity algebra. Last week was and eHarmony.com survey they took. Not that funny.)
