Yeah, its been nearly that long.

I haven't done much art aside from doing a few abstract paintings for my room after a hard time finding some artwork to match the decor.

The new muse is photography, but that's kind put on hold since most of my energy is being put into starting a new biz. I'll see if there are some scraps lying around to post (to get rid of that nekkid frolick stock on the front page heh).

As for 3d art, I suppose I'll get back to it eventually; maybe in another year or two.

Until then, I bid you adieu!

Yeah, don't know if you noticed but the deadline I had set for myself for the huge group piece (still need to think up a name for it) has passed. I haven't really done much art lately (unless you count web/them design) and thats mostly due, again to the whole work situation with the day job.

Not to mention I had reformatted my computer and for some dumb reason decided that I wanted to install all of the P7 content I have because I didn't like the way I had organized it before. So there is the monumental task of going through, installing, and organizing about 50 gigs of content.. ugh!

So when am I ever going to get back to the project? Not sure. I think the conservative estimation for the project's completion would be December 2008. Yeah... sounds about right...

But overall, things are getting better.

I'm at work here bright an early and I don't really have anything better to do so I thought it would be a good idea to kill some time writing an entry on dA... so here I am!

So, I haven't been arting AT ALL since the Holly Wynne remorse piece. That whole project was shot to hell and I highly doubt I'd get anything done aside from the initial test render that I fiddled with. Maybe I'll prep it for next Halloween.. ha! I also have several other art projects for others and for myself that are just sitting around gathering cobwebs. Not to mention other freelance web design and graphic design projects that I am just NOT doing. At least the deadlines are a long way off. Oh, and I need to redo my website too, gotta integrate a flash gallery.... *ugh*

You know, I think its my day job here thats affecting my mood. I am just too stressed from a shitty work environment which ends up killing off any inkling of motivation to be creative. I just wanna be a couch potato at the end of the day.

Anyways, I am taking this coming Monday off of work so hopefully I can get some art done for the sake of it. Maybe...

No new art from me in a while. Been in a funk lately with this migraine I’ve had for a few days now that just refuses to go away. At this time, I’m actually looking into learning to use Cinema4D seeing how I was hooked up with a free copy of it (yay for friends who work for architecture companies!). The original intent was to get into 3D modeling with 3DS Max, but can't get a hold of that at this time, unless I pay for it (yeah right). I still haven’t mastered Poser or Vue, and I'm jumping into a whole ‘nother program, ha! Ah well, keeps life interesting I guess. I just hope the learning curve for C4D isn’t too steep (got into Vue easy enough).

On a side note, I’ve finally gotten around to using ZBrush 3 to actually sculpt an object from scratch as opposed to just loading in objects and slightly tweaking it. They are quite ugly and I still really suck at ZB3 but I still have to tell you how awesometastic this program is. That is all.

COMMISSION INFO:
So I’ve had several inquiries on commissions and although I am very flattered, I’m not taking commissions at this time. It’s because I am still learning to use these 3D programs so I don’t feel comfortable taking money when I know that in another month or two, I’d be able to do so much better. Besides, working a full time job, looking for a new job, and learning several programs is enough stress for me. Creating art for others would just mean more pressure and stress at this time. I only create art for myself or art for friends when the mood strikes me. So yeah, no commissions for me, not now at least, but I’ll be sure to let everyone know if I do start open up commissions in the future.

Here's a quick summary of my life with art.

I used to paint, draw, and sculpture (still do a bit to an extent). You know all the traditional stuff. During high school, I had aspirations to go to art college and become one of those trendy illustrators.

But now its mostly web design, 3d renderings, photomanips, and photography (to an extent). I've stopped the hand intensive stuff because I have minor arthritis in my knuckle and fingers (and starting to notice some pain in my wrist). So generally, I'm stuck arting with the comp because I don't have to bend my fingers too much. This is ideal since I can't grip with my fingers for more than 30 minutes without the pain eventually creeping in and pwning me.

I'd occasionally attempt to draw but after being about 8 years removed from it and I end up getting frustrated w/ the eventual crap that is produced and the pain.

While it would be nice if I can dedicate more time to art and other fun stuff, art is still just a hobby. It's not my career. So while I can't grip a pencil or even use a pen to write for too long, I'm ok. My livelihood is not dependent on my art.

But perhaps in another lifetime.

--------------------

I moved to this new account from my old account. [link]
