Its seems that as time goes by more and more people seem to be against "fan art" driven illustrators.. My question is ¿Why? ...

It does not mean the Illustrator does not have characters of their own or cannot come up with something else.
Perhaps they preffer to showcase those characters whom they love and want to help promote or gain more notoriety amongst newer viewers.

I just dont see the harm in it.
It gives Great exposure to whatever the project-subject may be.
It helps the audience connect with the product.
