So, anyone of you aware of where 'Keep Calm and Carry On' comes from?
It was a motovation poster for the Second World War ( 1939 ), however, it was never used. Until it was rediscovered in 2000 and thus used for various projects.

It was a last case resort, should the Britons lose the Battle of Britian, it's purpose was as a way to stiffen morale. Thankfully, we didn't lose, and it therefore wasn't needed. SOmewhere around two-and-a-half million were printed even though they were distributed in limited numbers. The creator isn't known either.

'Keep Calm and Carry On' was one in a series of three, the other two being "Your Courage, Your Cheerfulness, Your Resolution Will Bring Us Victory" (800,000 printed) and "Freedom is in Peril" (400,000 printed).

Planning for the posters started in April of 1939, by June their desins were prepared and by August they were on the way to the printers. They were to be put up within 24 hours of the outbreak of war. Oh and, the crown was to show they were to be a message from the Crown to the people. 'Your Courage' was the most popular, being the first.

Thats pretty much it about the history, so then.

My own opinion: To use polite language, it's foolish and ridiculous. There's no way the most important nation is going to disintegrate, in the very least not in less than two years, no matter the economy.

What I would do: If by some un-Godly world this does end up being true, I would either move to one of the Carolinas, Virginia, or Tennessee. Either that, or I'm going to Europe. And if that choice, either the UK or Germany.

So, sinse I did it, you voice your opinions. Also, before you even comment, please keep this from being a shit-fest, it's your own opinions after all.

Friday - Well, aside from school, I remember nothing.
Saturday - Went to Barnes & Nobles and Wal-Mart, got three books, a CD, and then from Wal-Mart some fabric, elastic, and thread for my clothing class. Plus some candy, also, I ended up arguing with mother because she's a bitch who eats her medicine like it's god damn M&M's.
Sunday - Still arguing with mother, and been listening to CD and reading the books. Probably going to some fast-food chain for supper.

Anyway, for those who don't know what the Chernobyl Disaster was, it was a nuclear reactor accident in the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, then part of the Soviet Union. It is considered to be the worst nuclear power plant disaster in history and the only level 7 instance on the International Nuclear Event Scale. It resulted in a severe release of radioactivity into the environment following a massive power excursion which destroyed the reactor. Two people died in the initial steam explosion, but most deaths from the accident were attributed to radiation.

On 26 April 1986 01:23:45 a.m. reactor number four at the Chernobyl plant, near Pripyat in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic, exploded. Further explosions and the resulting fire sent a plume of highly radioactive fallout into the atmosphere and over an extensive geographical area. Four hundred times more fallout was released than had been by the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

The plume drifted over extensive parts of the western Soviet Union, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Northern Europe, and eastern North America, with light nuclear rain falling as far as Ireland. Large areas in Ukraine, Belarus, and Russia were badly contaminated, resulting in the evacuation and resettlement of over 336,000 people. According to official post-Soviet data, about 60% of the radioactive fallout landed in Belarus.

The accident raised concerns about the safety of the Soviet nuclear power industry, slowing its expansion for a number of years, while forcing the Soviet government to become less secretive. The now-independent countries of Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus have been burdened with the continuing and substantial decontamination and health care costs of the Chernobyl accident. It is difficult to accurately quantify the number of deaths caused by the events at Chernobyl, as the Soviet-era cover-up made it difficult to track down victims. Lists were incomplete, and Soviet authorities later forbade doctors to cite "radiation" on death certificates.

The overall cost of the disaster is estimated at $200 billion USD, taking inflation into account. This places the Chernobyl disaster as the most costly disaster in modern history.

The 2005 report prepared by the Chernobyl Forum, led by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and World Health Organization (WHO), attributed 56 direct deaths (47 accident workers, and nine children with thyroid cancer), and estimated that there may be 4,000 extra cancer deaths among the approximately 600,000 most highly exposed people. Although the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and certain limited areas remain off limits, the majority of affected areas are now considered safe for settlement and economic activity.

At the risk of sounding cliche,we all know freedom isn't free,hell,some even lose their lives to protect our freedom.Everyone was a child,sibling,parent,friend,neighbor and now they're nothing more than a memory and a battered corpse if their body is found at all.

It's sad how no one seems to feel even the slightest bit of gratitude toward our veterans,how they believe war is unnessecary so what good are they?Disgusting.If it wasn't for our veterans you wouldn't have that goddamned cell phone,that plasma tv or you could just not have your life.

Anyway~!Need some suggestions from you guys. In my Psycology class,we're studying about personality traits.Currently,it's about liars so she made us read about a study USC did.Anyway,she wants us to come up with stuff about liars.We each had to pick something (ie.stories,songs etc.) and I was one of the people who picked songs.For songs,we have to come up with 10,but I only know of 6 songs about liars Do any of you know any good songs about liars?
