Sorry it took me so long to get back on here I've just been crazy busy as usual So I have mapped out the next 3 subjects for us here at Since school is starting up again and we all have other things keeping us busy as well, I will give you 2 weeks for each subject so that you all have a chance to submit something

Ok here is the list of subjects and when they are due by:

Gesture drawing(draw figures in different poses, they don't need to be perfect, they can be rough sketches, this is just good practice at learning how the human body moves )
Due January 28th

Animals (draw any animal you want, focus on just one animal plz)
Due Feburary 11th

Fantasy (anything from fairies to dragons to elves, unicorns, etc.)
Due February 25th

Ok guys I will post all drawings submitted the day after the due date...have fun drawing and feel free to submit any ideas you have for March and April subjects

First off I'd like to apologize for my recent absence. I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get things ready for x-mas...and this weekend I got the plague so I haven't felt up to going online I wanted to let you guys have fun for Christmas...and I'm sorry I'm so late to post this, but what I was thinking is just letting you guys have some free time to have some fun So from now until Jan 2nd feel free to draw anything related to X-mas and New Years and send them into the club...and I will just try and post them as I get them An then after the holidays we'll get back into some more serious drawing Well I hope all of you have a wonderful, safe holiday and I look forward to seeing what you come up with

So due to popular demand, this week's subject will be music! Go wild, just have your pics be visually expressing music in one way or another Please get these into me by next Wednesday (Dec 10th) Please please please participate if you can! We have had a very low amount of submissions over the last couple weeks and I'm not sure if thats due to Finals, holidays, or what not but I would love to see everyone getting involved and also so there is more to critique! I'm thinking of doing another anatomy themed subject for the following week as well so you can start thinking ahead on that one as well I will give you further details soon And again please please please let me know if you have any ideas for themes, I want you all to be able to join in Also if you have any comments and/or ideas on some fun stuff we can do to make the club more fun, feel free to drop me a line Okies well off I go Have fun!!

Sorry for my absence and taking so long to post this week's subject. I have been battling school and the flu and well it just hasnt been fun ... Anyways I was trying to think of something good for the subject this week and thought I would mix it up a bit. So this week we will be doing..... LANDSCAPES yay!! Feel free to do any landscape you would like from mountains....to city ...to ocean...its up to you, and due to the fact that this subjuct may take a bit longer and the fact that its getting close to Finals for a lot of people I'm gonna give you guys until next saturday to get them submitted

Also if you guys have any great ideas for a subject to do in the future, please let me know and I might randomly use your idea one week....besides this club is for you guys sooo you might as well be working on something you like doing every soo often

Firstly thank you for everyone who submitted something for the Halloween theme last week they turned out great! Secondly sorry that it took so long to get them up...life has been crazy as usual ><

This week the theme will be "Hands", and please try to stick to just the theme, for example please just draw hands instead of a whole body with hands in the pic And please dont be scared to submit something even if you dont think its very good, cuz thats what we are here for, to help each other get better!!

Also I'll give you a little longer, lets say by next wednesday or thursday since I'm posting it so late this time.

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with!!!

Just a quick journal update to let you know that I have joined the panel to help out and .

(A personal thanks to the wonderful =ctJemm for getting the club up and running. Also, I hope you remembered to thank *ellazara for all her hard work in the past week in getting the entries up. As you can tell, she has been really busy.)

The "Jewellery Challenge" is still up and running for this week -- but please note you only have until October 27th to get your deviations in.

In closing, a polite request (pretty please) for those of you who want to participate:

If you are submitting to a weekly art jam, please mention in your deviation description the "Art-Jam" club and which challenge you are participating in. After all, this is an art jam and people love to see what new stuff you can generate during a week's challenge. Plus, as an added bonus, it will help us moderators avoid confusion when we start collecting together the works for each weekly challenge.

Ok! So this week's project: JEWELRY!
Pendants, chains, beautiful diamonds, stones, earrings, ANYTHING you want to do! The aim of this week is experimenting how light is able to bounce off different materials, e.g. gold, silver, diamonds, etc to give different effects. Try to be accurate as possible, references really help!


NEXT week's project is... FEET!

Barefoot, slippers, high heels, sandals, every and anything FOOT related!

To join, just watch us. You don't have to send a note, or ask if you have permission to join. This club isn't exclusive at the moment, so it's free for all. :]

Also, don't be worried if I don't submit asap, we are busy people and it's hard to download and upload, evne with fast internet and faster typing fingers, lol. About the moderator position, thanks to everyone who applied, and sorry to the others, but I've decided I'll be having my sister on board <<- I trust her anyway, and so does =Oshouki. She does a great job, so she'll be interacting with you all soon.

Submit your sketches in a note, and we'll re-upload here so everyone can gather and share views and ideas, that's how the Jam goes.

Project One - Hair!

that's right, we're focusing on learning to, or practising drawing AND painting hair. It can be in any style you want, anime, CG, realism, anything!

Remember to use the strangest colours and/or styles you can think of, and still make them look good. Here is where you are free to experiment, and no one cares if you fail cause it's just doodles! Use whatever technique you like, then we'll compare and give tips for one another! Don't stick to what you know, or else you'll never grow!

We need to establish some rules, of course, since we have many members now.

1. No flaming.
Everyone here has a different art style, and different preferences. No snappiness when it comes to critiquing, nothing that would start a heated battle on these deviations. If that happens, I'll jump in. And for those of you who know me... you know just as well, that you reeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllly won't want me to join the fight.

2. GIVE ME UR WORK. D<
Self-explanatory, I think that means you MUST enable download of the pictures and give me full permission to repost them here, when you submit your sketches. I want all permission issues sorted out, so there'll be no 'art theft' accusations. Old and new sketches are allowed, even finished pieces you want more advanced commentary on, besides the 'nice' and 'cool' comments.

3. You MUST NOT be a useless hack.
That means, EVERYONE is expected to comment on at least one drawing as time goes on. It is totally unfair if you just submit works over here to get comments and favs, and don't return the favor to your fellow members. This is NOT thumbshare, This is where we all meet to help one another grow.

4. If you are a tracer, then forget it.
Let me educate you. Tracing over images and calling it your own... is not right. Vectoring screenshots, and putting it here for critique, is senseless. That's not your imagination, even if you did do it, it was originally something else. I will absolutely under any circumstances NEVER accept things like that. If you want to have it in your gallery, fine, but it will NOT enter the Jam. Get the picture? ORIGINAL vector art is fine, if you've vectoring your own sketch.

5. Look and share
If you see or have come across any great tutorials you believe can help your fellow members, don't hesitate to link to it! you can just leave a comment on the front page, anywhere, it does not matter.
