Ok, this is one of the most thrilling news ever!
Mr. Go Nagai the famous Japanese manga artist will visit Kuwait on the 10th and 11th of October 2009 by an invitation from the Japanese embassy in Kuwait.

Two of Mr. Go Nagai's most famous mangaÂs that were broadcasted in Kuwait and dubbed in Arabic Mazinger Z and Grendizer that were produced in the 1970Âs, so fans its time to pay the person who entertained you and your imagination a welcoming visit.
At 360 mall 5-7 pm.

NB. Two day event, the first is for ticket holders ONLY! Obtained from the Japanese embassy- Mushrif. A lecture would be given by Mr. Nagai on the first day and a drawing contest of one of his creations will be held.

The second day i.e the 11th of October is an open invitation. Anyone can attend.

KUWAIT CITY Â The fire at a wedding tent in Kuwait that killed 45 women and children and left 92 others injured, 7 of which are in critical condition, consumed the structure in a blazing inferno lasting just three minutes, the fire department chief said Sunday.

"It was a horrific scene with bodies and many shoes stuck to the ground at the only exit, they must have trampled over one another," said Brig. Gen. Jassem al-Mansouri, the day after the disaster.

He said Kuwaiti authorities were running DNA tests to identify the 39 women and six children killed in the fire, which left many victims unrecognizable.

Authorities were investigating the cause and al-Mansouri said it could have been faulty electrical wiring, a problem with the equipment used to keep the wedding food buffet warm or the coals used for burning incense.

He added that the fire in al-Jahra, a tribal area west of the capital, was the worst he has seen in his almost four decades of service in this small oil-rich state and close U.S. ally.

Photographs of the scene show the tent was erected in an urban area. The interior was strewn with blackened debris, including the metal frames of chairs and tables, and burnt out air conditioners, a necessity in this hot country where night temperatures in the summer are often above 100 degrees (40 degrees Celsius).

It was not clear if the bride survived or how many were in the tent when it caught fire. Al-Mansouri said the structure was 13 yards (12 meters) long and could have housed up to 180 people.

Wedding parties are held separately for women and men, with children attending the women's event. The parties usually feature a catered buffet dinner as well as singing and dancing to Kuwaiti and Arabic music.

No alcohol is served in conservative Kuwait.

Al-Mansouri said 58 injured were still in hospitals, seven in serious condition with severe burns.

Events in tents should be licensed so that authorities approve the type of tent set up and ensure it has the necessary safety features, said the chief, adding that Saturday's event was not licensed.

The upholstery and the stuffing of the chairs used was also highly flammable, said al-Mansouri.

The Interior Ministry called on Kuwaitis to stop erecting tents in the middle of crowded neighborhoods and there has been talk of banning them altogether.

Tents are also used in election campaigns, but by permit only.

The government had opened a hot line and an information center for relatives of the victims, Kuwaiti state television said.

The country's ruler, Sheik Sabah Al Ahmed Al Sabah, extended condolences to the families of the victims and his office, according to the Kuwait News Agency.

He also announced that in sympathy with the victims and their families he would not be receiving well wishers as he traditionally does for the advent of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan which starts around Aug. 22.

I have version 7.0 on my pc and I have been trying to stitch three parts of a painting together for the past 3 hours! I googled the tutorials and everything else, but I simply don't know anything about the software so I kind of get lost! I'm useless
Would anyone care to explain how to do it but in simpler terms please?
Or maybe is too kind and wants to do it for moi instead?

Alqurain's 14th Exhibition:
The opening was nice. Many local celebs and other distinguished people were present..
10 awards & a cheque for $1500 (each) went to 10 artists, in my opinion, only a couple of them deserved to win.

The remaining 8 went to the shortist skirt, the brightest of names & to those who have connections, totally disregarding the poorness of their works.

On the other hand, there are some nice pieces there that are worth admiring. If you haven't been there already you can still have a peek. It's on til the 8th of Dec.

Opens this Wednesday the 28th, 6:30 pm.

I managed to finish and hand-in the 3 paintings i worked on for 13+ weeks before going to the world snooker championship.
Now the time has come & all i could do is just sit & wait for the opening day.
I don't care if I win or not honestly, I just hope that my work reaches people as intended and leaves a positive impression. I know I love my works and that's what counts at the end.
Anyhow, hope to see you there, you don't wanna miss this one.

I'm playing in the singles division this time and with such players as Ding Junhui and Marco Fu on the list, it's going to be pretty darn hard! We lost to Marco Fu last tournament 2-1 and got knocked out of the quarter finals. It's so unfair to allow professionals to participate in amature events! And to make matters worse, it's a Knockout tournament from the 1st round! Urghhh
Anyhow, wish the Kuwaiti team luck and prayers for moi pleaaaaaase

1- Having lived abroad for 5 years taught me that there's really no place like home, my patriotism grew larger with each passing moment and Kuwait always comes first. Defense mechanism always armed and ready.

2- My life took a steep turn a couple of years ago when everything i've worked so hard for was gone in a blink of an eye, but it also taught me how to make the best of ones affliction, and that's when i started painting.

3- My biggest achievement for the past 3 years was losing 40 kgs in 3 months. I used to weigh (115 kgs) now it's (75 Kgs). And no, no surgeries whatsoever! I just created my own dieting system .

4- I'm extremely competitive, stubborn, a perfectionist, very quiet & compassionate.

5- Definitely not easy going, i don't welcome new relations easily and always keep my distance, but when i get attached to someone i truly give my all. I loathe cheaters and i confide in no one anymore but a dear loved one.

6- I'm an Acrophobic and i fix Airplanes for a living, obsessed with serial killer movies and anything that's crime related.

7- I'm very generous to others especially those whom i care about, i just give and expect nothing in return, love to help in any way i can, forgive easily and never hold a grudge regardless of its magnitude and I love children sooo much, especially girls.

8- I have been painting since 2004 and my ambition has no limitations, i'm also pleased with what i've achieved in those 3 years and wish if i'd paid more attention to my gift at a younger age. My parents believe that i'm jinxed as nothing seems to ever go my way, and even if it does, it never lasts for long. Oh, and i hate EastCarmen for tagging me.
