As you probably know, my daughter:pride: has been studying :work: neuroendocrine cancer Research working in the labs at the Collage de France for the past year, which has come to the end of her year in industry, so my husband and I had the opportunity to visit Paris! Wahoo!! :w00t!:

:date:We stayed for ten days and thoroughly enjoyed the people, the sights, the food:cheese: the wine:drunk: and the coffee!!

This morning I managed to wake up with my alarm at 10.30am :ohmygod::w00t: (it has been one of my goals :blushes:) made myself some porridge and watched The Beiderbecke Affair....

:blahblah: wonder if anyone here has watched 'The Beiderbecke Affair' or has heard of the jazz player 'Bix Beiderbecke :?

Well, it is one of my favorite series to watch at the moment :blushes: (not sure if you would be interested :worry:) but...


(To quote-) "It is a charming mix of comedy and drama that has all the hallmarks of a classic detective thriller. This marvellous series introduces two school teachers, Trevor and Jill, an unlikely detective duo. The story follows the exploits of jazz nut Trevor Chaplain and his long suffering girlfriend Jill as they try to track down a set of missing records. An encounter with a mysterious platinum blonde pitches Trevor into a complex web of intrigue that begins with an exploding hedge trimmer and soon escalates to involve dodgy businessmen, 'black economies' and council corruption.
It is an endearing and hilarious series beautifully played by an ensemble cast and is set to the haunting sound of Bix Beiderbecke.

At first I wasn't sure how my art would be received, especially my dark pieces of work! I thought I might have been banned! It has definitely weighed heavy on me for a while, but now I realize everyone is expressing the same thing in one way or another and my heart goes out to everybody.
