I've had a couple of odd events that I'm starting to suspect is from DA. One example, was that I was browsing through the art, and suddenly I'm flung out of DA to a website that says I have a virus, and my computer needs to be scanned and that I have to download this antivirus. Of course, it's a scam, but I was surprised that it happened, especially in DA.
Another time, I was once again browsing through art, when suddenly my anti-virus/spam blocker tells me something is trying to invade my computer. This has happened twice already.
Has anybody had this problem?

I'm really excited about 2009. 2008 was nice, but it also had multiple rough spots. The nice thing about a new year, is that you can leave the old and look toward the new! New year, new possibilities!

First of all, I'd like to say a BIG HELLO to my new watchers! Thanks for watching me!

1) welp, my computer got a virus. I have norton anti virus and it turns out to be a waste of my money. so now I'm paying half 1k, to save my files (which i hadn't backed up, silly me) and hopefully bring life back into my computer.
I know my way around computers and it wouldn't even go into safe mode! it just kept restarting and restarting and restarting. so I dropped it off at Geek Squad and hope for the best! Please computer gods, please help and give life to my poor Acer!

2) Talking about new beginnings, I've (finally) moved out of Savannah and moved to a cultured city called San Francisco! My bf got a job here, so now I'm living in SF and moving into a new apartment with my two furballs. It's a pretty crazy move. I've lived in the east all my life, so to come to the west is a dramatic change. But so far, it's a lovely place! Lots to see, lots to do, and lots to eat! so far I've eaten out over 15 places, and I'd have to say that 75% have been OUTSTANDING!! Just saying San Fran makes my mouth water... food is really good here. yum yum.

3) anybody lives in San Fran? I'd like to say hello! I don't really know too many people here, so it would be cool to make some new friends.

4) Job. Looking for one in a 3D company. I focus on lighting, but I am also a strong generalist. you can see my demo reel at mcdigitagallery.com

5) kitties! my Kitties are here and they are having a ROUGH time. poor babies! they had an incident at the airport where my f*cking-piece-of-trash kennel shattered and my cats flew out of there, terrified out of their minds. Thank God it was at the airport, so some good Samaritans helped me find my cats. It was a mess. I was shook up and didn't want to fly since so many bad things were happening. My cats have yet to recover. They are at the new place, jumping at the smallest things (ex. turning pages in a book, a car passes by in the distance, taking off a sweater). They are young so they should bounce pretty quickly. =^_^=

6) I'm trying to leave my bad past behind. I had some really unfortunate events happen in my life at Savannah, and I'm hoping moving across the country will help heal from my wounds.... but it keeps haunting me. They keep coming back therefore I still feel their sting. I just need time to heal.

7) need to finish thesis!!!

i think that's it! wow this turned into a looong entry! I'll be surprise if anybody reads the whole thing!

School is rocking right now, and it is absolutely crazy. I am taking Directed Projects which helps me focus on working on my *drum roll please* thesis!

Yes, I am one class away from getting my MFA. Actually, it's more complicated than that. You have to write a paper, finish a film and take Thesis class. And all those I'm working on except for the class. That's next quarter.

My film is a feminist piece about women's roles in modern society focusing on motherhood, home maker, super model, bride and working class. My paper will focus on each of these roles while discussing current feminist trends. (very interesting! did you know feminism has come in waves? The suffragist, the 70's burning bras, and now we are currently in a postfeminism.... women are regressing!)

I haven't really updated on 3D Collaborate! It is looking really neat. I am very excited about the look. It is a morbid story. I had a really good group. We had our ups and downs, but I'd say mostly ups. Just need one more scene and we can start working on marketing. When we have it up on a website, I'll let you know!

I am, however, really busy with school. This quarter has to be one of the toughest. I am definitely taking it easy next quarter. Not too easy, since I have to work on my thesis.

Which reminds me, I passed my 45 hours review! Barely, it appears, but nonetheless I passed! I wanted to celebrate but couldn't cause of work. But when the quarter is over, celebrate celebrate celebrate!!

Two more quarters to go, and I'm gone! Hopefully with a job tucked away somewhere. wish me luck! Happy thoughts!

Can't believe summer is over and I didn't really get much accomplished. Especially my art, it was neglected along with other duties. Whoops! Guess that's what happens when you are relaxing...

So I'm back in College and I hit the ground running! I am in a class that is called 3D Collaborate which requires a group of six to start, animate and complete a short. It is going to be crazy! I am really excited about it. I am working with a very talented group of people and we have already started modeling/rigging. It is going to be CRAZY!!

Sadly, it also means that I won't be able to keep up with DA. Sorry guys! But DA is a breath of fresh air, so I'll definetely be stopping by.

Wish me luck! By Nov. 15th, we should be done and I'll tell you how it went.

I love watching ppl having fun and acting like themselves without worrying about what other ppl think. And anime conventions its the place to go. From Fangirls to Cosplayers, they are there to have fun and that's that. I love it. Like being in Halloween but without the insulin.

Great costumes, great ppl and great company. my little sister was with me so that was cool. was also there to keep me company and she is ALWAYS a blast! she made some great little jewelry that i totaly fell in love with. i think its a very original idea!

I did cover my table and the parking, and made a little profit too! this has been on of my most profitable cons so far! i think i'm getting the hang of it.

DA should have a section just for animation...

I put my animations in 3d-landscapes/3d characters/ect.
but they are animations! so the capture doesn't really do it justice. the only animation section i've seen is Flash... o_0 flash is cool and all, but darn it, i use Maya!!

anybody knows where to contact the DA crew? very curious what they will say.

Since I have been tagged, I have to write six weird things about myself.....

1) I really like cats. I think they are the cutest things EVER! them so much that my friends call me cat lady.... and it doesn't bother me!
2) Halloween should be more then once a year, cause I like to dress up!
3) I still chew my nails.
4) I still sleep with my teddy bear. (Unless my bf is around, then he becomes my teddy bear,)
5) If I don't eat every 4 hours, you will see me in the news cause I've probably killed someone. Don't get between me and my food.
6) When all four sisters (including myself) are sitting in a room, we tend to break into simultaneous laughter. It freaks people out.

So now I get to tag six more people.

that was my situation. i tried to keep it afloat by making my own, but my strenghts do not lie in funny writing.

i just don't understand how someone can be so excicted about a project, calling it a 'project of love', put HOURS/DAYS on it and give up in 2 months...

Would you be upset if you spend 15+ hours on a piece of art for a contest, submit it five days in advance of the deadline, the contest finishes and your piece is not up as one of the contestants?

so then you note them asking what happened, and they ask if you are part of the club, and you say 'i submitted ages ago to the club', they don't respond and you write them another note asking why they didn't even bother writing a note letting you know that you've been rejected?

and they finally respond saying 'if you didn't get a note of acceptance then that means you are rejected'.

would you be upset?

Has anyone created calendars?

I'm considering creating a calendar.... though it apepars that DA is asking for a 8x11 format.... why?

i'm confused.... again.

i can't find any information about calendars! not even in the 'help' section! do they want color backgrounds? is it ok to be in landscape or is portrait the best way to go! (the last thing i want is for somone to open the calendar that they recently bought and find the animals sideways!!!!!) augh!

its been crazy lately. as you can see by my new submitted art, not only am i working at Pokey the Pie Bandit [link] but on real work (that pays the bills) as well! see teh zoo of picture? yeah. those animals take hours and hours to draw!!

of course holidays too.

and i celebrated a birthday! saw Harry Potter and went to my favorite restaurant of all time!

i'd like to thank my parents who did THE DEED 27 years 7 months ago.... (i was a preme with my twin sister).

well, let me tell you, the quality is OUTSTANDING!! Just gorgeous!

i bought a postcard and i wasn't expecting much.... I open the package and BLAM! looks exactly like a photograph except on cardstock. beautiful.

it was actually worth the $3 i paid for! ^_^

Guess what! I'm working on a webcomic with a great and hilarious writer! It's going to be really interesting and a lot of fun.

He is working on the website, and my job is the art. He is really funny and has a huge fan base at Warcraft (that's what the comic is about. Trust me. You don't need to know Warcraft to understand this comic). Once everything is complete, I'll post some 'teasers' and you can check the website!

I'd really appreciate your honest opinion.

Should i or should i not purchase a subscription to DA. I'm very interested in selling prints. However I have my doubts.

Doubt #1: will people buy my stuff

Doubt #2: is my stuff good/refined enough to sell

Doubt #3: is it worth it financially

If anybody has experience in this, what were your results?

I'd really like to hear what people have to say regarding this subject.

I look at my Gallery, and i have art all over the place!

from anime to 'real' to factal to vector. i'm just scattered about and have no focus!

everyone else's gallery appear to be focused. they continue to use the same medium over and over. what does that mean? have they found their nitch and are happy continuing their expressing their art through this one form? or are they afraid of moving to something else beucase its comfortable?

I just feel that i have no focus (compared to everyone else, that is). though i look at my gallery and smile. I like all (well, most) of the things I've created.
