Valentine's Day Contest
The Valentine's Day Contest has ended and the winners have been announced!


This contest was a very difficult one to judge based on the number and quality of submissions. We recieved an amazing number of 121 total submissions, 67 being visual and 54 being written. We were all very impressed and must thank everyone who entered!

An *ArtistsForCharity calendar?
We've been playing with the idea for a little while and would love to have your input. If we were to create such a calendar, would you be interested in buying it?

Our current ideas on the matter revolves around creating 2-3 calendars, one possibly photograph, one digital, and a possible mix of mediums.

Voting for the Charity!!
Yes, the time has come that we will finally vote on the charity. Below you will find the charities listed. To help inform you of what each is about, a short paragraph has been written for each; the information comes straight from the website. If you would like to learn more about any of the charities, click on the name!

Voting will be open until November 18th, 2005, 11:59pm EST. At this point, the votes will be counted and the winning charity will be announced on November 19th. Let others know to vote!

Who can vote? Seniors and Staff only please! All other votes will be discarded. Note your top choice (only one charity please) to `sanguru. (Please note that staff have been added to those who can vote!)

Charities:
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat is an nondenominational Christian housing organization based around helping out those less fortunate by providing simple, affordable housing.
They are located in 100 counties.

Greenpeace
Greenpeace is a non-profit organization based around preserving the future of the planet through exposing environmental criminals, and campaigning against environmental degradation. (In specific: stop climate change, protect ancient forests, save the oceans, stop whaling, say no to genetic engineering, stop the nuclear threat, eliminate toxic chemicals, encourage sustainable trade).
They are located in 40 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Pacific.

Nelson Mandela Children's Fund
This charity is based around helping the youth by developing partnerships and initiating programs that seek to empower and improve the well-being of children and youth.
Currently located in Australia, Canada, France, The Netherlands, UK, and USA. Soon in Italy, Germany, Japan, and Switzerland.

UNICEF
This charity is based around helping children. Priorities include: Girls' education, Immunization plus, Child protection, HIV/AIDS, Early Childhood
Involved in many countries.

Medecines sans Frontieres
This charity is an international humanitarian medical aid organization committed to two objectives: providing emergency medical aid wherever needed, regardless of race, religion, politics or sex and raising awareness of the plight of the people helped.
In more than 80 countries.

Red Cross
This charity is an independent organization based in humanitarian aid of those affected by war and internal violence.
Involved in many counties.

WWF
A non-profit organization based around preserving the the planet. Focuses on 6 Global Issues: Climate Change Program, Forest, Freshwater, Marine, Species, Toxics.
Involved in many counties.

Elton John AIDS Foundation
Provides funding for educational programps targeted at HIV/AIDS prevention and/or the elimination of prejudice and discrimination against HIV/Aids-affected individuals and for programs that provide services to people living with or at risk for HIV/AIDS.
Involved in 55 counties.

3) Do all profits go to the charity?

YES! all funds raised through print sales, including deviantART's portion will be donated to the selected charity.

4) Is aFc a `seniors only project?

No, everyone from core staff ($), all the way to general member (~) can donate artwork.

5) How do I donate a piece of my work? Do I sell it on my own print account?

Donating is easy. Simply send a note to us or `switchbladeserenade, @Little-Vampire, `insaneone, `DarkMyth or @karyaazure. We'll let you know what to do next. And no, please do not upload your donated piece to your store. We'd like to keep all the products exclusive.

6) Do I need to have a print account in order to donate?

No we upload the prints to the `ArtistsForCharity account.

7) Do the prints have to be a specific topic/theme ?

No just submit what you would like or what you feel will be sold to help out.

8) Can I submit any image I like or do you pick one from my gallery ?

We really would love it if the artist submitted something of their choice.

9) Can you put in the description to comment or fav the original work?

No we are not doing this for favs or comments.
10) Can I donate more than one piece?

Yes you can.We are accepting up to 3 pieces from deviants at the moment.

11) How about other products like mugs, mousepads etc?

You can donate any type of product that is available on deviantPRINTS, as long as you submit the correct files for each product and let us know which is which. More info on the correct source files can be found in the FAQ #132: What are the minimum image sizes for each product?

12)What are the size requirements for prints ?

Information about the correct sizes and templates for your prints can be found in the FAQ #576: Where can I find templates to help me size my images correctly for prints?

13) How are the prices determined?

ALL prices are set to the default price. It doesn't matter who you are or how popular you are.

14) Will you note me if a print of mine is sold ?

As of now we have not been noting and nor do we plan on starting as of now.

"Through our advocacy arm, we’ve made one of our top priorities supporting greater opportunities for autistic adults to live in the community. Our activists contributed to the development of the nation’s first Medicaid Waiver for autistic adults in Pennsylvania, providing funding for community living supports for up to two hundred adults on the autism spectrum. Furthermore, ASAN representatives serve on the New Jersey Olmstead Implementation and Planning Advisory Council, providing advice and oversight to New Jersey’s efforts to move adults with developmental disabilities of all kinds out of institutions and into the community. Through efforts such as these and others, we hope to promote a state of affairs where everyone will have the opportunity to live in the community and we can relegate the forced institutionalization of our people to the dustbin of history."
