So, I went in today. My boss asked me if I could start working extra hours. I told her that I wanted to put in my two weeks. She told me that this was good since she and the other managers didn't know why I was a manager anyway an basically told me how I screw up too much to be a manager.

I don't even want to go in on Saturday.

I start job hunting ASAP. I told them I had a better job but, I don't. I don't know why I told them that. I guess because I couldn't say that I didn't like working there. At least until they said that, it really hurt my feelings.

Oh well, I'm glad I quit! Good riddance! Thanks for the support too guys!

I'm so nervous. D=

Today, in approx. 1 hour, I'm going to give my rather intimidating boss my two weeks notice. Right before Lent, which, in the fast food fish industry, is our busiest time of the year! My coworkers will not be happy.

But this job is so stressful. I literally come home in tears 90% of the time. I wont go into details but it's just a place that no one wants to work at. Every one I've talked to has told me they're looking for another job as well.

So, for now we're okay money wise, what with our tax returns coming in and I have some vacation pay stored away. I talked to Justin about what I'm going to do and he even suggested I take time off of working and focus on my art.

I LOVE HIM. Of course I can't do that, I'd feel too guilty because he'd have to work more. But, just the fact that he suggested it.

I am going to start trying to take commissions though, if anyone's interested. If you're not or don't have the money no need to apologize though, okay! X3 I understand!

Like I said, for now I'm pretty good money-wise so this isn't pity commissions!

Firstly I want to thank everyone for the support about my decision to quit my current school. Justin has convinced me to wait until the next semester because I made this decision in a weekend and he wants me to think it through- understandable and I'll honor his wishes.

Now then, I've been tagged by:

1. I go through periods of odd art blocks. Sometimes I can't draw animals and all I want to do is draw people. Other times I can't draw people and draw nothing but neopets. That's why I'm inactive for long periods of time.

2. I love to write and role play but I get discouraged about my 'skills' and stop replying and/or writing.

3. I like Jingles and memorize them. I think it's because they're catchy and short enough for me to remember.

4. I have a 5ft long fish pillow named 'Slippy.'

5. I don't curse. No... reallly. I never curse. I feel bad after I do and I sound stupid doing it. 'Hell' and 'Damn' are exceptions but really only used as a location and verb respectively.

7. I really love my characters and feel close to them. <3 I'm also kindda sensitive and protective about them.

8. I am ticklish all over and can barely be poked without giggling or at least smiling BUT I don't like to be touched.

So, here is my predicament:

I hate NSU. I really am enrolled only for three reasons.

1. It gets my parents off my back.
2. It's dirt cheap.
3. I get an $800 allowance to go.

Now then, you think this would be enough to keep me happy but only 1 month into the school year I'm sick to death of this school and every cell in my body is just tired of it. Ever since I started high school I wanted to go to an ART school. Not just a school that teaches a little art (no offense to students or alumni of aforementioned school). I can't even major in what I want at this school- it's pretty much graphic design or bust.

So I find myself more often than not skipping class or falling asleep in useless lectures from teachers trying to teach me what I already know. Not to sound conceded but, honestly, so far I know everything we've covered in my classes... other than dance class but I've paid attention there.

I really want to go to Academy of Art University and take their online classes for Illustration. I think if I could set my own hours and actually learn ART, that would be best for me. But here's the catch:

Cost of NSU for 1 year: $4,051
Cost of AoA for 1 year: $16,480

See my problem?

Anyway, I'm thinking of taking out a student loan which scares the life out of me. The thought of being in debt for so long really frightens me. I haven't talked to Justin about this because he's mad at me for complaining so much about NSU. |D I tried to explain how this school doesn't make me happy but I guess I fail.

So I wanted some advice, do you guys think I should take out the loan and take a chance at an actual school or stay the course at a school that I don't think will help me in my career choice?

PS. I'm sorry if this sounds like wining. I suppose in a way it is. I'm just venting really and I apologize if ti annoys you.

I feel so weird lately.

For one my stomach has been upset on and off for about 3 weeks now. I should probably go to the doctor but I never do unless I'm on my deathbed. I'll just make myself another pepto bismal cocktail. ;D

For another- Heath Ledger, one of my favorite actors, is dead at 28. I've never known anyone who's died. I mean, I didn't know Heath Ledger but I 'knew' him and he was so young, almost my age. I guess it just sort of made me think of mortality and a that jazz...

Anyway, I suppose there's no real point to this journal. I just feel shaken and sick. |D I promise I'll let you guys know if I die. X3 J/K

Well, I got Adobe Illustrator CS3 as an early Christmas present. Needless to say I'm ecstatic! There's just one problem... I have no idea how to use it. It seems so much different than Photoshop 7.

Does anyone know a really basic CS3 tutorial?

All I could find was 'how to use the pen tool' and 'how to draw a fluffy dog' ect... I apparently need a 'how to teach a monkey to use this program' tutorial.

So yeah, any help would be appreciated! =3

I speak of course of money. Why is it that even though I have plenty right now something comes up and its never enough. |D

I'm not complaining too bad. Its partly my own fault for spending a nice portion of my change check (from my pell grant) on my new camera.

Anyway, I recently discovered a wonderful artist by the name of Bobby Chiu. If you're not familiar with his art just search his name here on DA. Wow, the man has too much talent.

Anyway, he is the reason for my melancholy mood. He teaches a 9 week online digital painting class that starts January 3rd and its $789 USD. The price tag isn't whats getting me its the time line. I'll have enough in February but... thats a little late.

Looks like I'll have to wait until August.

No big deal I guess. I just hope I don't loose this excitement and drive towards it. I really think it will help me.

Lately I've been getting the urge to try my hand at photography. I'm probably not going to litter my account with pictures of my cat or my shoes. |D Buuuttt, I need help.

I have no idea what camera to buy. Justin wants me to get a video camera that takes pictures.

My budget is $250 maybe a little more for tax and/or shipping.

So if anyone knows of a nice DIGITAL camera, possibly one that takes videos as well please let me know! =3

I think I found one. This one seems good- so says my photographer friend. (she owns a newspaper so she uses a lot of cameras)

DA is acting really stupid today. It's timing out on half of the pages I load, most of the images when I browse wont load and neither will any pictures I try to comment on. D| Its so irritating. Is it just me or is this happening to anyone else tonight?

Anyway, on another note; I enrolled back in NSU for the Spring semester. I talked to my guidance counselor and told her that I couldn't make it to any Tuesday, Thursday classes because I work. I'm pretty sure I'm failing my Computer class because of that but my teacher is a really nice guy and is going to see if I can do something to make it up. My schedule for next semester is:

Computer Applications in Art: 8:00am M, W, F
Art Appreciation: 9:00am M, W, F
Fundamentals of Geography: 12:00pm M, W, F
Ballroom & Western Dance: 1:00pm M, W
Introduction to Psychology: 2:00pm M, W, F

YAY! Now you guys can stalk me!

I'm disappointed with my art class but at least I have one. This semester literally almost killed me. |( I want and NEED 2D Design for my major. I can't take any other art class without it but it was full. I'm going to ask tomorrow if I can be wait-listed for it but those who are WLed rarely get into the class. Oh well, I can take it next semester or during the summer. =3

Oh geez, its going to be fun trying to get out of bed at 7am for me. |D

It's a boy!

Or a girl... I haven't decided yet.

Heh, don't get too excited, its a laptop. I bought it today, just after midnight. Yup. Before any of you bring up the fact that I'm always complaining about money problems- let me explain. My school has this AWESOME program for students. If you qualify you can go and buy a laptop for up to $1,000 and they'll reimburse you every penny. ^.^ An awesome program if you ask me.

So, yeah. I litterally just took this baby out of the box about 3 hours ago and am still getting a feel for it. It has Vista on it which I'm not used to so yeah... also I have to switch all my stuff from my desktop over to my laptop 'cause we're donating my PC to my parents. The thing they have is ancient! Well, as far as computer standers go. We bought it in like... '94? '95? Its time for it to go to that hardware store in the sky.
