Con was amazingly fun (save on Saturday night but that's no biggie by comparison) GMX in it's inaugural year had 517 con-goers. A lot of great cos-players and a lot of really great people!
Now I'm not going to go into a lot of stuff on it, BUT, let me start by saying this much...
Don't try to dye your skin with concentrates kool-aide.
It hurts.
A Lot.
Like... a -whole- lot.
As in I have chemical burns on my chin from trying this on Friday.
Blech.

HOWEVER! I won in the costume contest for being best on theme. And Oh. My. God did I make an Obi Wan cosplayer mad when I was announced.
Allow me to set it up for you.
Saturday evening. I have spent most of the day walking around as Tonks and Ace/Shilo (The diff being a sweater, my hair being up or down and a jacket) and have sought the grand lay out of Opry Mills for both purple cream make-up and a Zombie walk that was supposed to happen.
I manage to get some eyeshadow to paint my skin with, as well as orange for my husband's costume and get him painted up and his lekku in place and he looks good.
I manage to paint my own face despite the chemical burns weeping, once again, on my chin and finally wrestle my own lekku on only to realize I've forgotten to put my Jedi robe and boots on.
I'm late to the masquerade and luckily sent hubby to the judging table with our forms for the secret judged costume contest.
No biggie.
The lekku are pulling on my head, I'm having to hold my head at a funny angle to try to keep the wet acrylic paints from staining my Jedi robes while the last touch or two of it dries where my lekku have cracked open.
Again, no problem. I did the work for them, I did a damn good job on my and my husband's lekku and costumes and I'm LOVING the attention people are showing to them as well as the questions people are asking. I'm talking and talking and an obi wan is showing off his storm trooper-like armour, it's good stuff, but it's modified storm trooper armour and he's really kind of stuck-up about it, not seeming to have too great of a time. Me, in all my purple glory, I'm trying to talk to him to find out how he sculpted the pvc and am having a blast talking to my friends (both from the forums and from other cons) and when he wouldn't say I just kind of walked away.
I'm having to constantly adjust my lekku over my eyebrows because my headdress is just a tiiiny bit too loose and it's annoying but they're staying on my head.
I'm ignoring the people I don't know or who aren't talking to me, and I start dancing with my hubby to the Diva's song in order to get people out. We're out there and I'm swinging man. My lekku are flying all over the place but they're staying on my head and looking -awesome-. I manage to grab a dance with the sweetest little pirate at the con. (Bostwick's little daughter) and go back to talking to my friends after a while. And end up getting interviewed by a guy with a huge camera about my cos-play.
I don't give one real whit about the costume contest. I never win these things, why should I worry, right?
They tell the participatants to sit in the middle and get comfy for the reveal of the winners. My friend, whom I didn't even know ad managed to get her sheet turned in won "Con-Chair's Favorite". I whooped and hollered for her as loud as I could.
Then they're ready to announce "Best on Theme costume" And I'm looking around thinking Obi wan, this totally awesome Jedi in storm trooper armour is gonna get it.
The announcement comes "We really loved the creativity and originality of Number..." Obi wan is ready to spring his way up the stage "Number 18!"
It takes me a minute before I realize that's -my- number. The first words out of my mouth? Something so graceful... "Holy Shit! That's me!" I squeel, my friend's start laughing and trying to shove me onto my feet which had decided they didn't want to put me on the ground and obi wan is giving me the death glare from -hell-.
Gods... Imagine how it'll go when I get the things done fully properly!
The 501 cos-players there thought I was a 501st player! How freakin' awesome is that? I'm flattered... I'm not joining 501st without a -damn- good reason but I'm really flattered.

Okay! After the Masque (Where the beautiful dresses and costumes were freaking -amazing-) I HAD to get the masses of purple make-up off my face and quick. I also had to make an appearance at the GMX girl's Pool Party. This solved both problems with a dip in the pool after I'd scrubbed my face off a bit.

Allow me to explain. (And please forgive all long-windedness because I'm kind of zonked out)
I created, over the course of a week, a very pretty Kanna mirror prop. I then got a very good picture of it and even posted it as a deviation here on dA.
This has apparently led to a devolution of minds, as a girl almost immediately posted a comment asking how I got a mirror that looked like her own.
Not understanding what she meant (as I had posted how I made it in the description) I looked at her profile (as I am apt to do for those who comment on my things) and discovered a very pathetic thing.
A, I am assuming, young lady created a profile and is posting as thought to be Kanna of the Void from Inuyasha.
Assuming it was from a fanclub or just a dedicated fan I humored her and replied back that Naraku had given it to me from his bones when he created me. Referencing, of course, the fact I had used the mirror as a prop for my full Kanna cosplay.
The person proceeded to get snippy and responded that I wasn't Kanna, she was. Amused I proceeded to burst her bubble as gently as I could, while still laughing my rear off at the idea of actually being someone who would argue they are a fictional character created by someone else for a manga and anime.
Now, I'm normally a very patient person. I will tell you when you're being an idiot, but I will not often have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. But the fact this person came into my deviation and began this was too tempting. I explained that she wasn't a fictional character, and that it was silly to try to argue about it. Instead of fighting the fight she started, she brought her 'sister' in who apparently believes herself to be Kagura of the Wind.
This little.. incident was brought to a head when "Kagura" showed up and demanded I leave "Kanna" alone. I, of course, wondered why I had to leave a fictional character alone. "Kagura" proceeded to tell me she wasn't fictional, and oh, she knew Naraku too! Going so far as to post his dA account name.
I find it hilarious that the big bad evil guy of Inuyasha has a dA account, and amazing too. Isn't he still in Feudal Japan? *giggles*
Said "Kagura" then told me that I was uncreative and boring.
I've been laughing throughout the entire incident now, and honestly can't stop giggling. Now, trying to be civil about it, though not entirely able to be since my mind's filter is a little compromised by lack of sleep, amusement, and painkillers. I posted back that even if I was going to say I was someone I wasn't, I wouldn't say I was someone else's character. If I was going to say I was a character it would be a character of my own creation and ideas.
Now, I calmly and with many giggles posted an end to the conversation and was responded with the comment that I must just be too good to be bullied.
Confused, I had to think about five minutes on this. Where, in all of the comments, was I being bullied. Then it dawned on me.
I'd been flamed! *laughs* Very lamely, I might add. Apparently "Kanna" and "Kagura" were trying to bully me! *laughs*
All over a cosplay prop mirror. How silly is this?! *giggles* I seriously can't stop laughing over it. It's just too funny.

I love Fatal Frame IV and it's renewed my interest and love of ghost stories, photography and old cameras.
The Ren fair was soooo much fun! I went once with my folks, then again with Jen and Cory, their first faire was so much fun and they loved it. *laughs* I am corrupting my friends one by one! HAHAHAHAH!
Soon enough it'll be OMG. I'm not doing too much special for it. Trying to clean up my Nemu costume and redo my Miku Hinasaki costume.
I'm still working on transforming my Lovely (my camera) into a Camera Obscura. Which is actually working fairly well in planning stages. I'm gonna need help in actually making the pieces eventually but Jen may be able to help there.

I've been neglecting so many things recently, I think I can finally try to get something done now at least. I'm thinking of trying an art Trade with DrBagHead But I dunno what I want him to draw if I do. but I do kinda know what I wanna draw. Even if I do suck a lot at it.
I have the best horns at the ren faire! It was awesome. The staffers, the patrons, the merchants.. EVERYONE loved my horns, said they looked great and asked where I got them and my contacts for my Tiefling costume.... *giggles* I'm also on the casting list for next year's faire. YAY! I'm hoping to get up the money to go to the falconry classes later in the fall, but doubt I will this year, I can shoot for next year though. Falconry's something I've always wanted to get into.

I've been thinking a lot on my characters and my stories. Hopefully I can write and draw them out.
Speaking of.. my friend Jen the wonderful artist/writer and otherwise VERY creative person is letting me work with her on a fan comic of Hellsing. Not that you can tell it has ties to Hellsing until later in the story. I've helped think it out, name chars, and help with designs. And I actually have a job with it! I'm in charge of Backgrounds, inking and publishing it. We're going to making a DA account for it which will be known as Apostles of the Third Aeon.. which is also the name of the comic.
You'll have to watch for it and read it yourself to see what it's about though. I'll link it up here when it's up and running.

I'm also working on doing some voice work, hopefully when my friend from the Alcove get together we can do our abridged series. I can get some practice in for that and work on some fan dubs on youtube too. I can't remember what else I was gonna do. But I'll figure it out later.

Side-rant of the day
Sugar-free peeps?! Peeps are nothing BUT sugar. How the bloody hell do you manage sugar free ones?
By the way, they melt orange and they don't blow up very well in the microwave. They're just... wrong on so many levels. They don't even roast! They -melt- like.. like... just... ew!
And I'm not just saying this because I'm allergic to artificial sweeteners either. They're just wrong.

Shinigami-Sama costume with working hands. Started, the hands are looking good, next step is the gloves so the fingers work better.

Tsubaki Nakatsukasa costume and weapons. Unstarted. I got material, but that's it. GODS~! this is my costume too!

Tenten costume with weapons. I have to rebuild Tenten from the ground up for MTAC... oui... this can be done this can be done this can be done this can be done.

Renji Abari Shinigami uniform. Not started. The uniform is easy, black hakama, white gi, black top, red wig styled.

Howl Zabimaru! Started. Prototype done and it works, now to get to work on the real thing. It extends and retracts hehheehe

Tsunade's hat. I have the base, when I get the camp foam to do it I'll get it done then.

Transforming Tetseiga (with crimson form) A side project that if it's done by April TERRIFIC if not, no huge loss. I'd like it done by then so I can auction it off

This time I've actually started work on both though so it's alright.
I have... SO much to do before April.... It kinda bites, but at the same time, I LOVE a challange.
I have a HUGE Ikkaku challenge ahead of me, and as soon as Roji gives me the money I'll be constructing an ikkaku cosplay for him. I'll DEFINITELY get pictures up of that. Because well... it'll be just too freakin' cool! A collaspable, portable, seven foot wide, five foot tall, with two huge pole arms and chain with links the size of your head Bankai mode of Ikkaku. WOO_HOO! And I'm getting paid for this one!
I'm wondering if I should try maybe making a seperate account and keep all my cosplay stuff in it... But for now I'll just put it all right here.
I'll be putting up the avatar stuff soon, I made a new character at about four this morning when I woke up and couldn't sleep, I think she's cool.. maybe if I can get her drawn and written up well enough the oc club will accept her.

She's ranting, like I knew she would, that Obama won.
We had both voted for Nader.
And I'd like to know what happened to our votes? Why, throughout the entire election was Nader left out of discussion, or how about Cynthia RossMcKinney and Rose Clemente? I want to know what happened to the votes for them! With as many people as there were who were complaining about Obama and Mccain, and not wanting either, how come Nader never got a voice? What's the point in voting in a rigged election? The democrats are running both house and senate now. They're going to line the pockets of themselves, and those of us with just enough won't have enough anymore.
Go ahead, tax the rich, they're the ones who control the market. They'll just raise the price of everything to make up for the tax you're putting on them, and if you think you can't afford anything now, think of what it'll be like after the prices of everything doubles.

I am, however coming up on 4k, if anyone wants to catch it for me. If anyone's actually watching for it anyway. *chuckles*

Anyway! I went to AWA (Anime Weekend Atlanta) so if any of my watchers were there, post me! I might've seen you. but it's more likely someone saw me. I was Nemu Kurotsuchi on friday, Enma Ai on Saturday morning, Nemu again for the bleach photoshoot, then turned into Rose Thomas, Holy Mother of Liore, from Fullmetal Alchemist. I'll post pictures of my costumes here, on cosplaylab.com and photobucket. (links to folllow)

Swag I got included
a jigoku shoujo necklace of the hell seal, a new laptop bag with enma ai and the life candles on the front. A modoki purse and the last two volumes of jigoku shoujo. I also got three prints from the lovely cordeval, two chibi inuyasha/ chibi fluffy-sama prints and a Mustang is dead sexy in a mini skirt print. (Hope I can get Travis and Vic to sign it at MTAC '09).

What I did on thursday
Arrived via greyhound to my friend Lisa's (She has an account here) And made her Tsunade costume all night, remade her shirt and sash. The sash/belt thing didn't seem to work so she didn't wear it. That's alright though, 'cause at least it got done.

what I did friday
Went to bed at seven or so in the morning, napped for a little while while Lisa and her mom went to get the rental. Then.. we drove, picked up Baka-chan, and got to Atlanta in one piece, got set into the room and went to the con! Yay! After we finally managed to get our badges (so glad we got there early friday, we didn't have to wait nearly as long as other people did) and hit the dealer room.
All I can say is... wow. The Dealer room at AWA was HUGE! There were people not even finished setting up their tables, and getting there early enough on friday to get into the dealer room was awwwwesome! There was SO much fcool stuff in there. I was glad I budgeted my weekend (forced, was short on money) but man... so many nice things. I was walking around in my Nemu costume, Lisa in Rukia and we got a bunch of pictures taken. Especially with this little kid Aang that was SO adorable. He looked up at us and his eyes lit up and he said "Rukia and Nemu! Can I gt a picture with you.?" What was obviously his dad took out the Nikon SLR and we gladly took pics with the little fella, a while later he caught up with us again and asked for another picture. He apparently really liked our costumes. *chuckles* Spent some time in the artist's alley, and most of it in the dealer room or people watching in the lobby. A few people liked the costume, and that night I spent walking around and chatting with a Kenpachi. I'm an insomniac on con weekend. I've been up for two days before, and I don't really crash out until sunday night.)
So I wandered around talking to him. We wandered around and talked until we went to see a Hellsing Ultimate 4 screening. I managed to catch the last bit of the third episode of an anime I'd seen before but hadn't been interested in when I first saw it. Soul Eater.
Oh. My. Gods.
I LOVE Soul Eater now! It's hilarious! I don't remember why I didn't like it when I first saw it, but I didn't. And now that I've watched the whole series so far... I'm in love and I want Ai Okashi Cosplay to play it! (Jen and I are definitely doing it. She's Stein and I'm Tsubaki) It's GREAT! I highly reccomend it to anyone who likes Anime and Manga, read and watch it. It's amazing and great.
Hellsing 4 was as expected.. AWESOME And it was midnight so I headed back to the hotel with Baka-chan, since he was going back.

what I did saturday
Jigoku shoujo in the morning. Got up EARLY and took the shuttle to the convention centre/hotel where the con was. I hit the Dealer room first and wandered around and people watched. Since I left before the others even got up, I hadn't realized I'd left without my con badge. So when Lisa called me, I asked her to bring it with her. I'd been going in and out of the Dealer room all morning, like... five times already, and no one had caught me. So I sat down on the planter and waited for my Rukia to show up.
You'd think that a short perfect-haired rukia would be easy to spot... nope. I watched a Naruto Ataski group thingy... something... posing for pictures and managed to get a picture of my kimonoed counterpart. That was pretty cool. Her make-up was weird, but her kimono was really pretty! When Lisa caught up with me and gave me my badge, I went back to wandering around with her. We didn't really have much to do until around one. When I was going to change back into Nemu for a bleach photoshoot and she was going to go video tape a some cosplay panels for us. I'm writing again! (Yay!)
Finals are over, and I know it's been absolutely -dead- from me lately. (ugh) But... I'm in the mood to write and I'll be getting the next installment of RttL done. I've been reading it and rereading it and going over it, so I think I'm going to go back and clean it up a little and repost the whole story (up to this point, of course) and then post up the next chapter. I'd like very much to start posting larger segments of it so people don't feel gyped when they read it. AND! I'm going to be adding in a border on my story. Possibly a picture of Jareth, Jadia and Gradi as children.
That's my hope anyway.

Tut-date
Tut is HUGE! He's gotten about ten times bigger than when he first got here and he's still growing! He's the size of a small dog now, and he's still so cute. He has "Little Pink Fish" which is a small pink plush clowfish that we gave him as his first toy, and if you kick it across the room and tell him that his fish is getting away he goes tearing after it like a madman. It's so cute!
I've managed to get pretty far in learning Japanese. It's almost to the point where I don't need subtitles on my favorite animes. (YAY!)
Oh!
Speaking of Animes... *grins* I went to MTAC and had a total freaking BLAST!!
I walked around as Tenten from Naruto on friday, part of Saturday and Sunday, as well as Nemu Kurotsuchi from Bleach on Saturday and part of Sunday.
My friend Shay was Kabuto for Friday, part of Saturday and Sunday, and for most of Saturday she was Mayuri Kurotsuchi from Bleach.
This has bearing because she was the creepy-looking doctor/regenerator Capitan of the 12th (Ju-ni) Squad, and I was the Vice-Capitan of the 12th squad. AKA- She was the evil mean guy and I was the quiet girl that gets pushed around, kicked around and hit a lot. It was great! Shay's not the type of person you'd expect to be evil (Mayuri's not evil, really he's completely utterly and truely True Neutral) much less -mean- She's really soft-spoken, apologizes for everything and hates violence. But put her in the Mauyri costume and she drops -right- into character. It was really fun being the quiet little girl who gets pushed around. Especially when I got to see the reactions to the Mayuri costume. Since.. I like.. made her costume.
It turned out amazing for only being done in twelve hours. And I've created a monster out of her because now she's a cosplayer, and she looks at EVERYTHING and goes "I could use this for (insert blank here)"
*giggle* It's great, because I have a friend that I'm slowly converting to Japanese, I'm getting her to watch -much- more anime, and she's willing to cosplay with me and work on costumes just for the fun of doing it. It's great!
Our next projects are a Hellsing group, (I'm being Seras Victoria, she wants to be Father Alexander Anderson) And she wants to build me a bloody Alucard head to carry around so she can look imposing and cruel and follow me around like she's hunting me down *chuckles* Then she wants to make me the 6foot tall cannon that Seras weilds That'll be LOTS of fun *giggles* We also have to catch her up with the rest of the cosplay group and get her a Full Metal Alchemist (She's wanting to go as Greed, and I'm going to be Lust) So we both have to make FMA costumes. We have to get her a Ritsu (The Monkey) costume for Fruits Basket (And I'm ging to make The THING for my Tohru cosplay) THEN, we have her Inuyasha costume to make (She's being Seshomaru) And I get to make the costume *squeals* I can't WAIT to get to work on that too. It's so beautiful and elaborate and wonderful. I really look forward to the challenge of making it and making it look REALLY good.
Hopefully I'll convince the group that we need to do Avatar soon, so I can get to work on my Yue and Azula costumes, Shay hasn't decided who she'd be for Avatar. I -think- with her height (She's about six feet tall) that she'd make a decent Zuko or even Ursula.
I have a personal Cosplay challenge I've given myself. I'm making (or trying to make) a transforming Tetseiga. In other news... Tut is doing really well! He's still got a little bit of a biting problem, but my uncle is going to help us fix that by giving us (by odd stroke of luck) A black cat that's adopted him.
The reason that's an odd stroke of luck, is because On saturday I went to one of my mom's Co-worker's house to pick up a little black cat she had. But she was busy and didn't have time to let me look at the kitten.
Well, the next day my uncle dropped by with my aunt (whom we were expecting, we weren't expecting Joey to come with Pete) And he noticed we had gotten a new cat.
Joey's an odd person (a little but I agree with him) Who thinks everyone should have a pet. Even if that pet is a goldfish, he thinks everyone should have a pet. So he was kind of upset that I'd not only lost my long time pets of Guido and George to the pet food problem, but that I hadn't gotten even a goldfish.
Well, he was really excited that we had Tut, and he recognized (like I did) That Tut's biting was just his version of playing, and he said, a bit out of the blue, that he had been adopted by a little cat, but that his wife (Dottie) wouldn't let him keep it because of their older cat and their poodle, and that if I wanted a friend for Tut (As long as I didn't mind a little black cat) That I could have it.
*chuckles* This was so fortuitous, since the other black cat hadn't come through. And this one is apparently very friendly and will even jump into your arms. Which is cool.

It's a little Egyptian Mau that was apparently dropped off at the college and found his way to the police department. He's so adorable!
He's a little silver Mau, with the scarab mark on his forehead and a slight oyster mark on his right flank.
Mom normally doesn't like cats, but this little guy caught her eye with the Ohm mark on his side. It's so cute!

I'm debating between Tut, and Antony for him.
I'll try to get pictures of him up later. but he has these beautiful green eyes, and a really sweet disposition. His purr sounds just like Guido's did, it's this loud rumbling purr (mom describes it as rocks rolling around in his throat) And his wiskers are bi-coloured.
He's so sweet! I don't know who would want to get rid of him. But I'm glad my mom found him and brought him home to me.

1. I am extremely proud of my hair. Despite the fact I keep it covered in a hat all day. I'm very proud that I've never tortured it beyond teasing it for costumes or not brushing it for a week. I've never bleached, coloured, highlighted or done anything horrible to my hair. And I'm very proud of that, because I'm one of the few people in my group of friends (and the only girl I know) that has -never- done anything to my hair but trim it and towel dry it.

2. I hate smoking. I will take my friend's cigs and hide them at every chance I get because I despise the habit and what it does to people.

3. I have a particularly sensitive nose.

4. I am highly entertaining to Chinese people. They find it bloody hilarious that I can say 'hello' 'thank you' and 'may I have chopsticks please?' in Chinese. And they find it even more amusing that I know how to use chopsticks properly.
I don't know why.

5. I was admitted to a psych hospital when I was younger.

6. I have misshapen feet. My ring toe grows above and behind the other bones in my feet, so I leave four-toed footprints.

7. My hands and feet gain better grip when they're wet than when they're dry.

8. I have been lactose intolorant since I was born. I couldn't take breast milk when I was a baby, and now I can't have cow's milk.
I can, however, drink goat's milk and eat goat's milk products. But I have yet to try yak's milk products.

I have actually -liked- Azula since she was introduced.
Yes.
She IS a manicial, evil, sadistic bitch.
She's also the best villain I've seen in a long time. The part fits her, she pulls it off well. And she's freakin' voiced by Mandy!
Azula -rocks- I WILL cosplay her when my cosplay group does Avatar. Even if the chance to play one of the other girls comes up. I am playing Azula.
After tonight's ep, however, I grow afraid.
I grow very, very afraid.
They've humanized Azula.
They've shown that yes, she DOES have a heart, yes, she does have feelings.
Something I've tried to convince a lot, and I mean a LOT, of people of for a long time.
And tonight.... they proved me right.
Which means that about half of the people who constantly dis Azula are going to do a one-eighty and go "you know... Azula's not that bad"
I have one. And only one thing to say to that.

Anyway, I've started an amtgard group here on my collage campus.
For those who don't know, Amtgard (found here [link] ) is a LARP (Live Action Role Play) Where we (basically) take sticks, cover them in funnoodle (or camp foam), tape them down with clear tape, then go into a field with these padded sticks and beat each other with them.
It's a LOT of fun, and good cardio. It's a lot of fun, kind of like SCA only with padded sticks, and we have magic spells and we're not so uptight about being period.
So yeah, I've started my own amtgard group here on campus. They're mostly fledglings, but they're getting better.
My husband's been in town since the first, so... yeah... hehehe.

We got an xbox 360.
I can't BELIEVE we got the bloody thing all for Halo 3.
He paied a hundred and fifty bucks for Halo 3... THEN he got the xbox.
I made him get viva pinata for me
Love it, very addictive, but it's also a lot of fun. Next on the list is Kameo. And Geometry wars. That game's a lot of fun too. It doesn't look like it, but it is.

OH!
My English teach (is totally gay, but that's besides the point) likes me... it's weird. He likes me because I know how to set up a discussion board. Which he wanted done so he wouldn't have to hold classes on thursdays.
Weird.

I'll probably be submitting more manga/anime-type pics. Mostly of my Avatar fanfic chars, plus some from Returning to The Labyrinth.
I'm also thinking (just kinda vaugely still) of trying the 100 challenge. Not sure which list I'll use, but I -might- attempt it. I'm thinking of -maybe- trying to do one around Gradi and Jadia.
That could be cool.
I could definately use the practice though.

My history teacher is odd. The good kind of odd though. She asked me if I knew any spells to protect/get rid of/ destroy her husband's ex...
I'm blending her up some teas and some protection incense.

My friend had a GREAT time at AWA (I didn't get to go, due to money issues ) But I'm glad I didn't get to go though. I got to see Avatar Season premiere as soon as it played (and I squeed like a fangirl the ENTIRE time)
And it makes me want to play Azula even more at MTAC.
I WILL play Azula.
But not for MTAC 2008... There's going to be way too many false avatards there.
And I'm -afraid- of what is going to be there *shudder* It's going to be avatar hell. It is!
BUT!
There's a bright spot. Kawaii-sensei and I are goin ot be working on our life-size Appa for her brother *giggle*
We're designing it still, and when we figure out how to make it light enough for her brother to move it, and figure out how to get the legs to move properly (we're expirimenting with pullies and cogs right now) We're going to ROCK every, bloody, anime convention there IS!
We're making it big enough and strong enough to actually hold children so we can have really good pictures taken with it.
*giggle* I can't wait!
I have two avatar costumes lined up. Yue (moon spirit form) and Azula (whatever form she's going to have when we do Avatar)

I still have to redo my Kagome shirt (has been procrastinating) and I need to redo my Enma Ai costume. I want to do the kimono form... that'd be nice.
I WANT to do Yachiru.. but there's so many bleachers... that it's almost impossible to actually do a good costume and not be seen as 'just another bleach-er'.
Drivin' me bloody insane.
Kawaii-senshi is going to get me to watch Deathnote (yay) But I don't think I'll cosplay anything from it.
I AM, however, going to be cosplaying Lust from FMA... Kawaii-senshi is going to make me extendable fingers That'll be really nice. Can't wait for that.

Last year, I lost Guido, my cat, to a liver failure. I lost him on November 15th.
Yesterday George followed Guido after a year of living with kidney disease.
I've added my name to the class action suit against the pet food companies. It's not a coincidence that the very symptoms they released as being due to the ingredients they used.
Guido's liver very suddenly shut down. George fought the kidney disease for a year before succumbing to it.
I've never been without a pet.
I had fish when I was a baby until third grade when I got hamsters, then I got Guido... then I got George...
I don't have anything now.
Last night I couldn't sleep, I didn't have anyone in the house but me. Mom's gone back to work, and I can't sleep without anything but me in the house.
The net was dead, everyone I normally talk to aren't up at four in the morning.
I haven't felt so isolated in a very long time. I can't keep busy enough to not remember I don't have my babies anymore.
Every time I lay down, it hits, and I just cry. I need something to take care of. I can't not have something to take care of.
Mom doesn't count, I have to take care of her, but she's independent. She gets upset if I say the wrong thing, if I don't do something exactly right.
Pets don't care. You can tell them horrible things, they'll still curl up and purr or love you. Or they'll stare at you from a tank and make bubbles.
They'll just look pretty if it makes you feel better. I can't stomach this. I can't stay like this for six months. I need that something, I need that energy living things give me.

Gods... I can hardly sleep, I've barely eaten, and I am SO pi@$(%&$% at my 'friend' whom I paid to come and help us move (because he has a truck. I don't) and he's come over all of 3 times.
I'm getting my money back from his ass at this point. I'm so pissed at him over this. The past two weeks have carried way too many events that just happened to co0incide with us NEEDING his help and his truck to move crud from the house to the apartment.

ANYWAY!

I'm still working on my endist. Between school, mom, and the move... I haven't had much time to work on my entries for 's contest. (check it out! It's a really great idea. I think when I get done and settled, I want to try to make my own 13 endists)
I still have my entry to even start for ‘s contest. I wanna do Nanuk (I really like her) as a fire nation princess. She's got the hair for it! (I WILL eventually get my own hair to do that
I finally finished my entry for contest. My shadow ferret horse doesn't compare with the other entries. But maybe I can help judge the other entries. Cause I voted for the contest theme. 
I have to redo Ying Ying. I'm not content with how she's turned out. I'll get to her... eventually.
I want to give her a kind of messy topknot, and make her a little more wild looking.. maybe even holding Wei... That'd be nice *dreams of things she can't possibly draw*

I caught a couple of my friend's kiribans. (I'm a dork, with no real friends in real life, so I hang around other peopl's pages in the hope of catching odd numbers. it's fun and kinda rewarding. YAY OCD!)
So far I've asked for an illustration to one of my poems from , and a DA ID.. I don't have one, and is a really good artist, I asked him for maybe a saggi something. (being a saggitarus and a water pig which is amusing.. a fire sign month, in a water sign year... no wonder I'm so messed up ) and I haven't decided on something entirely to get from the VERY nice (and patient) who was very patient with me after I didn't realize she was an artist from a recent obsession of mine called Bella Sara maybe I'll ask for a chibi fairy on a chibi unicorn... I've never gotten a unicorn drawing from someone *loves on her HUGE unicorn collection that makes her mate/husband jealous*

I have some ideas for Returning to the Labyrinth, I just haven't written them down yet. Soon though.
I'm so sore.. so tired. I'm gonna try to sleep now.

I'm getting much, much better at drawing critters! I've noticed a -huge- improvement in my drawing lately. Which was kind of weird to look at your art and go "Did I really draw this?"
I absolutely LOVE that I can look at my more recent pieces and say, "Hey... I really did do that. Without a reference, without tracing out a model. That came from -my- head." (see Critter-lineart and Gradi)
I have a very long way to go, but I'm seeing my own improvement.

I -am- still working on Returning to The Labyrinth. I've just been busy with school, and moving and trying to work on ideas for my contest entries.

Stardust is a good movie. Had me giggling and laughing throughout most of it, and in awe the rest of the time. The SFX are excellent and the story is TERRIFIC! Recommend to everyone who likes fantasy movies. It's worth the eight buck ticket to see it opening week! (And is going to go into my DVD collection as soon as it comes out.

It's a wonderful year to be a pig!
I'm getting new glasses, the fridge that has been giving us so much trouble is still under warranty (for seven more months) and the city has decided that mom and me qualify for our house to be dozed down and they'll give us a house that's within building codes and legal and that's big enough for us and the cat and
WHEEEEEE!!!! I'm so happy!
I'm SO happy. My tablet works, my fridge is gonna get fixed, the house is gonna be replaced! I've climbed up the rock wall without taking a break.

MY YEAR!
I'm stoked for the new year, today is actually the second day of the spring festival, and since I live with my mom, I don't have to go anywhere.
The nice people of the housing and development are going to relocate us and build us a new house!
YAY!
This year is starting out really well so far I hope it keeps going as such!
On other notes. I realize I haven't been around. I missed my kiriban and I'm kinda upset about that. I know no one out there really watches me much, but if anyone caught it I'll try to work something up for you.
I got a stylus for my tablet I finally get to go back to using my :Tablet: ! That makes me SOOOO happy
I know I didn't post at all the past two months, but one reason is that over the new year I got married!
On January the fourth I was officially married to my hubby, and on the sixth he had to go to sea and I had to come home. (sucky) but he'll be home in march hopefully.

I hope to be getting more stuff up, esp. the things I oew for my comments for stuff journal. DarkSavvy I'm trying to get your story done. Even if you don't see this. When the world is dark and lonely,
we find those lights so much brighter.
But finding them is the challange.

As stupid as it sounds, as dumb and pathetic as it is. I see him all over the house. I look at the laundry basket and have to doublecheck and make sure I really didn't see him laying on the dry clothes.
I walk around the house, and think I see him darting around the corner ahead of me.
I know what I miss most. I miss his purr. I never realized how much he purred, or how loudly. George's purr isn't as frequent or as loud, but Guido purred all the time, and I miss falling asleep to it. I know he's gone and I have to get over it, but I still miss him.
I know he's not gone as long as I remember him, and I know he's still around, chasing that damned troublesome black thing. But I want so badly to turn it all back and play king of the stairs, or have him sleep on my side and sing me to sleep. He wasn't supposed to die like that. He wasn't supposed to go so soon.

I have to let go.
But it's so hard. It's difficult to put it out of my mind. I have so many pictures of george, because I always thought guido was strong, and it wasn't the way it was.

The lights are at least watching over him. The lights of those past, of those yet to be, and those of the otherworld.
I find some solace in that.
It's not much, but maybe, if I hold onto that little glimmer, it'll turn into a spark, and grow.
Maybe that tiny glimmer of comfort that's not quite comfort can help.

I can hope. It's not much, but it's what I have.

George has been getting pampered a lot. And he seems ot know it. But he's also been behaving more. I know he misses Guido, but we're all adjusting.
It's getting better, and I've started a new line of drawings, they're just silly doodles I did in class, but they're cute, and I'll post them up here in a little while.
I also have a story I'm going to post, it's one I wrote several years ago, but lost, when I find it I'll post it too.
Anyway, everything's getting better, and I'm going to be doing more Li Mei and Li Fen pics and stories.

I'll be glad when those turn out. And Poo on the people who said metalbending wasn't canon. I knew it was, I knew it!
And I had the right idea on how it worked too!
So at the people who said I was being a sue with Li Mei. I was just ahead of the curve!

Guido's gone. And in case you're wondering, Guido is the black and white in the collage I posted in my gallery.
He was the first pet I had that I didn't have to keep in a cage. I raised him from a runt to a twenty pound monster cat who chased dogs and was afraid of hamsters.
I watched him die, I sat next to him and told the vet to make the pain stop.
He didn't purr for me, but he would for my mom.
I've woken up several times since then, thinking I saw him and it only turned out that it would be my hat, or a stuffed animal.
I miss my baby. I want him back.
I can't afford to have him cloned, and I don't think I would if I did.
I'm afraid and upset. I want him back. I want to hear him purr. And I can't. I just apologized as he went. I couldn't even make him comfortable. I couldn't make him purr to feel better, and I couldn't help him. I couldn't make him feel better. All I could do was watch him waste away.
He'd stopped eating, he was so tired he couldn't move. He hurt. And I couldn't make him better. I couldn't help him at all. All I could do was kill him, and now I hurt and it won't go away.

I'm not asking for anything from anyone. But my art is going to reflect it, I don't feel well and it's going to show. Wether people get worried, don't be. I'll survive. And maybe people will listen to me now. And work on getting ID numbers for our pets so we can have health insurance.

I won't turn anything down, but don't worry for me. Prayers to whatever higher powers you have are appreciated. But I don't want anyone to feel obligaited for anything.

A few days before we were due to leave to go to new orleans for a short vacation, my laptop decided to try to burn up on me. Calling the company led to calling the store, explaining to the store I'd gone through this before with my first laptop ended in me calling the company back for out of warranty repairs, and after much hemming and hawing, and being assured that it's completely normal for my laptop to smoulder, smoke and burn my hands, I get it sent off with the assurance that I'll get it back in three days so I can take it with me to NOLA.
That didn't happen, I didn't get it back until a week after we got back from a five day trip.
The trip to NOLA wasn't all that great either. It was fun when we DID stuff, but the inbetween times were full of AssMonkeys.
In case you can't tell, while there we discovered a new breed of animal, I call it the assmonkey, also called the buttmonkey, but it rounds to the same thing.
Most of the people in New Orleans SUCK. No offense to the people who read this and are from there, but I did say most.
The crowning point was mom promising we'd go to Brennan's and get some bananas foster before we left, and that we'd get to go to the zoo, and instead we spent ten hours in the ER because they didn't want to call on the short fat woman with the broken arm. They never called her back, and went to the people who came in after her instead then said 'yeah we called her' when we went up after three hours of waiting in the waiting area of Tulane.
The doctor didn't do the cast on her elbow right, the nurse couldn't find her ass with both hands and a neon sign, and the doctor was just an idiot.
My aunt had an attitude problem the whole time, and refused, dispite my mom telling us to, to take me out to go do something other than sit in another ER over something stupid instead of using our last day's worth of freebies to go DO stuff.
When we got home (after my aunt took her frustration out on us by hitting every. damned. pothole. on the streets.) So mom ended up popping about six codines on the way home.
And on top of this when we got home my cat, who hadn't been feeling well when we left because mom wouldn't keep her promise about taking him to the vet to fix his tooth when she finally saw what I'd been telling her for weeks was a BIG problem, because his fang was gone and the pulp was exposed and he hadn't been eating.
No, she couldn't take him then like she said she would, instead we got home, and he'd -broken- the tooth completely off, and two nights later the bathroom was covered in blood because he'd cut himself on the broken fang.
Well THAT warrented going to the vet, after me begging and pleading with her to take him didn't work, getting the bathroom bloody worked.
So we take him in, finally, and he's nine pounds, where he'd been 20. He has a liver infection, and a urinairy tract infection. And he has to have medicine every day. His fleas have given him anemia because we couldn't find any flea stuff that worked that wasn't thirty five bucks a pop, and now he's dieing because his face hurts because of the tooth mom refused to acknowledge.
He's not eating and until he gains some weight back, he can't have the surgery to fix his tooth, but he can't gain weight because his tooth hurts and he can't eat, but he can't get the tooth fixed.....
it's a cruel circle, and he's my cat. He's my baby and he's been with me since I was eight, and now he's dieing because mom refused to keep her word and take him to get it fixed when he could handle the surgery.
So needless to say, I've been away dealing with mom's broken elbow (broken in two places from falling out of the candy store and landing on it) and Guido (the black and white for those who looked at the picture) being really sick.
George is sick too, but he's eating the special diet and has bput all his weight back on and is doing a lot better. The vet was even suprised he'd lived past the terminal cancer he'd been diagonosed with four years ago.

We finally bought it at Target for fourteen bucks (I'll have to go back for the special edition)
And this movie ROCKS!
It's not gorey, it's just right. It's a movie I know would never appeal to all masses, mostly because of the language. Most people would never get the wording, or be able to keep up with V's speeches.
I can!
I LOVE IT!
This movie is the ultimate in terrific!
(and now I have so many more things ot do with the letter V in Scrabble!)
If you have any love for words, and a love of watching movies for their plots, their writing, and their characters. Watch this movie!
If you only watch movies for blood, gore, bad language, and violence. Then just ignore this review and go watch Jackass.

Currently sorting: A thirty pound bag of semi-precious and precious raw gemstones
I have thirty pounds of rocks, and about a dozen baggies to sort them into.
It's totally relaxing.
I dunno why. But it is.
A former friend of mine gave me a handful of shaped coloured confetti and I amused myself for an hour sorting it into little piles. She called it Kender Speed.

Rosilan Isley- AKA Blood Rose, is an eco-fighter. Like her mother she uses plant-based powers and weponary. Unlike her mother, she was born with the abilities that Pamala Isley was given thanks to Dr. Woodard. Rose is a plant-based alien life form. Her people were once native to a distant planet that was war-torn and ravanged by another race until her people were forced to send pods containing their children into space. Several of the pods landed on Earth in the early times of the ancient races, establishing themselves as natural spirits and gods, as well as protectors of the land they now claimed. The stories of Dryads, Nymphs, and other natural spirits stemmed from her people's affinity for particular environments, mainly earth and water. Rose is a decendant of the alien species that was affilited with plants, the Dryads of the old worlds.
Her powers affect the growth, mutation, and control of any and all plants she decides. Her powers almost mirror Poison Ivy's abilities, but while Poison Ivy has had time to work with more and explore her abilities for longer, Rose is still growing into her powers, and while she can do everything Poison Ivy can now, she doesn't have the exact finesse her mother does. However, she will eventually surpass her mother. And in several fields, has.
Rose most often uses her powers to grow new and exotic fruits, flowers and other plants. Most often this is for their food value as she herself must consume the nutrients of other plants to survive. As such, she's a vegan, eating nothing but fruits, vegetables, and flowers, as well as the products made from some of these. Also needed for her survival is sunlight, and as long as she has access to sunlight and earth, she has nearly unlimited power, and regenetrative capabilities.
Like her Mother Rose cares deeply for those she forms a close bond with, such as her mother, her 'aunt' Harley and those who she feels can't care for themselves. While her mother will often try to destory industry and humanity for their transgressions against the Earth, Rose more or less tries to simply deal with the immediate problems and give aide to those she feels need it. Her targets are usually those who show a devotion for nature and homeless, whom she feels some small connection to.
Rose is not Isley's natural born daughter, Isley found Rose's birthing pod in a conservatory that she had taken to working in during one of her underground stages. Rose's pod had been discovered in the Amazon and brought to Gotham by botonists to be studied as a rare and never-before-seen flower. Isley took to studying the pod and eventually recognized it for what it was. Not wishing the life form she knew to be in the flower to be taken away by scientests to be 'studied' She took on her alter ego and stole the pod a mere week before it was going to bloom and hid it away in secret.
The baby Rose bloomed soon after and Ivy took to being underground for a long time in order to raise the young Rose in secret. Her Poison Ivy personna allowed her to get the required funds to raise and study her new child so she could nurture her abilities more.
Rose's abilities showed themselves very early on and Isley nurtured and taught the growing Rose everything she knew. Quinn aided in her teachings as well. Rose's intelligence was also apparent as she grasped concepts in botonay and science many adults didn't understand. Quin taught her gymnastics, anatomy and psychology as well, perhaps even rubbing a little of her madness off on the girl, largely however Rose's mother was the main source of information in Rose's life. Isley and Quinn protected Rose as much as possible, home schooling her and teaching her everything they themselves knew. Rose never actually took on the name of Blood Rose until she was nearly thirteen and her mother and aunt were taken once again to Arkham. She devised a plan herself to use her abilities to enable her mother and aunt to escape excueting it and freeing her family from Arkham with almost no casualties. "Before" is a poem I wrote a while back, I don't even remember why now, I think I was kinda depressed, but it turned out okay.

"A Story for Baby Brother" is a poem of an older sister telling her little brother a bedtime story. It doesn't have a really happy ending, but I'll let you read it to see that. I wrote it not for my baby brother (as I'm an only child) but instead for my baby cousin, who I've raised since he was three days old.

"Freedom Riders" Okay I know the title is taken and on a lot of other things, but hey, I liked the sound and it's fitting. It's a short story that was orignally a school project. I always hated having to write stories for school and this one had to be set in the west, had to have an icon, and had to have an unexpected, ironic, ending. I think Imanaged, since my teacher kept the print-out and never gave it back and I got the top grade for it.

"Sheba's Hunt Song" Is part of a series of poems I've been trying to write. It's kinda gruesome but I wrote it with a black panther in mind. Sometimes in the West, there's a battle, sometimes there's a war. There are time in the West when there is neither, when there is nothing but a quiet story told by the firelight. Sometime there is a story like this. A story told by an old man, crouched near the fire weather-beaten face worn with years far beyond your own. At times his story may be loud and booming, commanding attention like the thunder of a summer storm, other time his voice may drop to the soft whisper of wind in the sagebrush and the cacti.
The old man stood up, holding the stick we had deemed "The Storyteller's Staff". The staff was about four foot long, and straight as one of Terris' arrows. It had been decorated with bits of cowery shells and a few flat stones. Tied to a few of the dangling leather strings that Quith had dug up from his pouch were a few feathers we had deemed good enough to decorate this staff with. Sarth had the genorosity to donate a few of the stones he had found and one or two shells she had picked up (we all suspected he had picked them from someone's pocket). Terris donated a few bits of shiny metal to the tassles of the Staff so that now, as the Old Man stood up and held it up, it twinkled and jangled like a loose pouch.
The firelight caugh on the shells, metal and stones, making them glint. The sound was something similar to one of the rainsticks we had listened to before. This commanded our attention, we'd grown used to the sound by now, and so all was silent for the Old Man (except the fire which crackled and smelt of the hickory wood we had thrown into it). The Old Man looked from each of us to the other, Terris, then Sarth, Quith, and lastly myself. His careworn eyes looked me over, not quite believing what he saw (I knew this from the way he looked at me) I silently turned my eyes away from The Old Man's.
"You have shared your fire, and your camp with me for many nights." He said finally looking to the fire but we all knew he spoke to us. "You have shared your food, and cared for me in my time of need. I've learned a great deal about you in the week i have been here with you." His eyes, abright eagle gold, offered a sharp contrast to his darkly tanned face and straight black hair, looked the ragtaggle group over again. Again he lingered his gaze on me before turning back to the fire. "I've taught you a few of the stories of my people and now wish to tell you one last story before I leave you." At this he jangled the staff, and I looked to the others, canting my head to see if they too heard the sound of rain from that old stick, they were listening intently to The Old Man's words, so I settled down where I was and listened again.
Terris had, by this time, settled against his bedroll. He was a gangly red-headed cowboy who couldn't've been older than twenty-one, but he acted so much older. Terris had been almost forced to grow up sooner than most, bandits had left him an orphan at twelve when they held up and murdered his parents in a stagecoach robbery. Terris was a quiet solitary person, he laughed, rarely, but when he did smile it was a smile that would turn the worst desert storm into a bright triple rainbow day and you always knew he ment it. Terris was the best eye in the group, and could use anything from a spear to a Colt .45 with deadly accuracy. Nothing escaped his watchful eyes and alert ears I tell you, nothing. And right now, all his senses were on the alert, though most of his attention was on The Old Man.
My gaze drifted to the grinning Quith. A dark-haired dark-eyed fellow of about twenty-five. A bit of a strange bird to be quite honest. He could be as serene as the desert sands one moment and the next moment be grabbing up people and dancing around like a drunkard if he thought things weren't going well. This was our Quith, six foot eight inches of nearly pure muscle. Fondly I rememberd the gentle look on his face as he lifed up a horse who had twisted his ankle in a praire dog burrow. Intimidating as his form was, Quith was one of the kindest, gentlest people I ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was a colored man, but it never bothered me any, nor anyone else for that matter. (In case you wonder, the horse lived, and became very loyal to Quith never showing even a limp after being cared for and tended to by the great man.)
Then there was Sarth, the strangest person anyone could ever meet. An active blonde-haired boy of about fifteen (we guessed, even Sarth didn't know exactly how old he was). He was constantly moving (most of the time we suspected that he had been raised by jackrabbits) weather he was moving while dancing or walking, bouncing around or just wiggling his legs off the side of the ledg... ]]> ~AsryaKino
