First off, I'd like to apologize to everyone for that last journal. I didn't mean to be that harsh or cuss so much (When I get extremely down or extremely happy, I start cussing.) but I really want to let you know that I love you all so much for sticking by my side and replying anyways. It really means a lot to me to know that I've made such awesome friends. I don't know what to do to really show you all how much you mean to me, but if I ever do find a way that's worthy, I'll be sure to try it out.

And yes, I'm better now.

So, on to this week: Short notice, I know, but I'm leaving in about an hour to go to New Jersey with dad and his girlfriend to spend spring vacation. I won't be getting back until Sunday, around 4:30. So until then, I wish you all a happy spring break/week!

I'll be working on a picture for a friend as well as re doing Eos's reference sheet and finishing page 4 (and hopefully the last page) of my audition. No internet doesn't mean no computer or photoshop, now does it? ;3

I just can't deal with all this stress. It's too much for me.

I know I've posted a lot of whiny, ranty journals and I bet you all are sick and tired of hearing me complain. Well, fine. Keep it to yourself then and don't bother to reply if you don't mean it. 'Cause I'm tired of hearing all lies, all the time.

I've come to realize something. The world is a bitter place. I knew that, and even when I try to be optimistic, I know that things are balanced. All this good fortune will equal out with something bad. So if all's going my way...well, it's safe to assume that soon it'll all go very, very wrong. Optimism is just putting off what bad things might happen tomorrow. It's useless.

It's lying to yourself.

I also came to realize something else: the source of near to all my stress is my family. No, scratch that. My mom is perfectly nice. She's kind and considerate and means what she says- unlike me. She doesn't deserve to be treated poorly. Which is where my sister comes in to play: Christina treats mom, everyone, like she rules them. And you know what? She fucking does. Mom's admitted it to me on more than one occasion. They argue and fight and all that time...mom's patient and listens and rarely yells. And Christina does just the opposite. Mom doesn't deserve that.

And this is where I come in to play. I can't stand to hear her being in that situation. I don't find it fair, that a ten year old girl can get away with all that she does and makes her mother stressed and depressed. It really angers me. They were fighting just a few hours ago, and halfway through it all, I was at the top of the stairs behind the closed basement door, ready to come upstairs and slam her head against the wall in order for her to see the point. She. Can't. Keep. Doing. This.

To mom, to me, to our family! It's not right!

And one nerve-racking thing, but that's beside the point.

Today, despite the fact that at one moment I thought it was the worst day ever, was actually quite good!

First off, it was VERY foggy this morning, and mom let me use her awesome camera to take pictures outside! And then I got to first period, and that test that I thought I'd failed? I got a 96 out of 100. Second period was normal-ish, same for third period, then in fourth period, I finished my art portfolio for computer graphics.

Fifth period I ate lunch and played cards and screamed at the top of my lungs when they called for the Sophomores to cheer. ((Today was class color day, part of our spirit week)) Sixth period I wrote a rather nice...prose-thing for a friend. Seventh period I gave said note to said friend and made them happy, and then had fun since we had a sub.

Eight period I learned that the results for the AP Lang test were in. And I made it, as well as said friend from seventh period. :3 I feel good.

And once I got home I proceeded to furiously scrub the orange highlighter from my face (class color day spirit ) and changed into something sharp for an interview I have with the director of the performing arts summer camp I've gone to for the past five or six years. I'm applying to be a CIT...and I'm actually quite calm. XD

I'll be nervous as soon as I get there though. AH WELL!

If anyone wants to join my idea for MSN Game night/time, please let me know! I really want to try this out and get some good laughs!

OOooookay! So first off, I have an interview on Friday for a position at the performing arts summer camp that I attended for the past 5 or six years (minus this past summer because I was in Maine during most of the sessions and wasn't able to go.) I'm applying to be a counselor in training (CIT) and even though I know who everyone is that'll be interviewing me, I'm still really nervous.

In other news, this week is Spirit Week at our school, and today was the very odd Hollywood day. (Hollywood theme day, maybe is more like it.) I got a chance to wear my pinstripe fedora that I got for my birthday, and also my new jacket with oddly enough matches the pinstripe (and...the color...0_o) But anyway, I'd forgotten that during computer graphics class today, we were going to be taking pictures of ourselves for a new project we're working on. Something along the lines of drawing over ourselves and putting us in a hand drawn setting. So...I'm dressed up and now realizing that we're taking these pictures today and I haven't decided what I want to make my project about. So I really quickly settled on a pose with crossed arms, leaning back slightly. My initial idea was that I'd duplicate the same picture and flip it horizontally so that it was like I was leaning against myself, and then turn the other picture into a photoshopped version of Alex. (And if you don't know who Alex is by now....well, check my new ID for the basics.) But...what in the world would the background be? THEN I remembered it was supposed to be an 'action shot' since we'll be making 'action' scenes out of the pictures. Ugh.

I'm missing my first few periods of school tomorrow to go to my sixteen year-old doctor checkup/whatever you call it, and then may or may not go to the MVA place to have me take the learner's permit test. I've been reading over the guide and taking the practice test online, and I'm really not sure what to think. A lot of the questions are REALLY easy, but some of them are a bit harder (or just too wordy.) Anyone out there willing to share some advice or tips for the written test? I know it's probably nothing compared to the actual driving one, but still. XD

I can't believe I'm turning 16. 0_o

Anyway, today has been a blast so far, and I haven't even had my friends over for a party yet. So far it's not as bad as I was thinking it was going to be. ^^

Anyway, short journal is short. I'm in a tight spot with my Ebon Spire audition page. I don't feel like doing the rest but I don't know when I WILL, so.....XP Might as well hurry up and finish.

I added all my stamps to a stamp board. No one really looks at them but I felt that it was necessary to do so...and so they're there. Yes.

Yesterday we went to go see a play that was directed by Chris Cherry that is based on The Odyssey. I was in his summer camp for quite some time and am applying to be a counselor in training this summer at the camp, and seeing the play (It was a musical, but ALL of his plays are musicals. And they're really good, too, not stupid or cheesy.) made me REALLY want to be back in them. And also, now I have the song Homeward Bound stuck in my head. Which sucks because it's not on the internet or anywhere and I can't listen to it.

I'm having my family party today for my birthday. It should be really fun, especially since I asked my grandma (After being asked a MILLION AND ONE TIMES what I wanted...) to get me a felt fedora, checkered boxershorts, and a checkered rug for my room. Bwahaha.

But really, for my birthday I've asked for no presents. Just because I don't want people spending money on me. But I'm willing to wait patiently for that hoodie. XD

I should be doing homework.

But I'm not. But I should be. And I know that.

So! I've just about finished playing World Ends With You (SO CLOOOOSEE.....!!) and really wanted to make a Player Pin to wear around. Unfortunately, the only button maker I have access to is dad's one that makes only 3-inch buttons. I need one that's 1 inch. And I don't want to buy a package with 100 of 'em for $10, either. So after some searching around I found a site that does a package of 4 buttons, and you can upload up to 4 of your own designs! Of course, that required PayPal....but I just got off the phone with dad and he let me use his credit card for it! (I actually wasn't expecting him to give it to me over the phone, but he did...0_o) So now I have two Player Pins, one Rhyme Pin, and a Pyrokinesis Pin on the way! They should get here in around two weeks. *can't believe how happy I am XD* And....now that I know dad is willing to let me use his card for good reasons, with telling him, and being nice about it (and asking if he could do it for an early birthday present, too...) I might be able to get a way to do subbys for people who I'd originally wanted to give them to at Christmas! I'll look into it ^^

I think I'm going to leave dA for a little while. I've got a very stressed out metabolism and feel very wrong. A lot of people who are close to me are going through some tough times and I feel very out of place in the middle of it all. Now before everyone (if anyone...) comments with "OMG NUU WE'LL MISS U WHY?????" I'm just going to say that it's SHORT and TEMPORARY. My life at the moment is messed up, I'm messed up, and need time to mull it over and try to sort out...well, my life. My motives for things. I'm just not content with how I am at the moment and think that if I take the time to look at myself and my actions from different angles, I'll figure out why.I'll still be working on my audition for Ebon-Spire and doing other artwork, just not replying to comments or posting journals for a little while. I need to detach myself a little bit, for my own good. It's not anybody's fault. Seriously. *is looking at one person in particular who I KNOW will try to blame themselves*

'Cause I'm going ^^ Not as a tourist/visitor, though. My girl scout troop (girl scouts, wtf? You're in girl scouts? Yes. Yes I am.) signed up to be part of a drawing to see if we could volunteer at the inauguration, and we were picked! So I get to go over to RFK Stadium at about 3:30 AM and help to welcome the charter buses to Washington as they arrive, and then guide the tourists toward the inauguration itself. It'll be FREEZING COLD, so we're gonna have to wear, like, a MILLION layers of warm clothes and stuff. But it should be fun! Anyway, I was wondering if any of you guys were gonna go?

It was just that kind of a day. Sure, good stuff happened, but when other things happen too, you tend to forget about the good ones.

So I come home today and expect to get right to work on page 5 of Rewrite, 'cause I wanted to redo it. First thing that I notice: my light won't turn on. The bulb (one of two...) had burned out, and since I'd ignored the first one that had burned out, my room won't light. That's okay, though, 'cause I have two lamps and it was still light out anyway. later on, our dog gets out and chases after another dog to say hi (Stupid puppy: she's scared of other dogs. Why the hell'd she run after one?) So I had to chase after her and apologize and drag her back home. So I FINALLY get back to my computer and do some photoshop. I'd been up late working really hard on that page, and LOVED how it had turned out, and couldn't WAIT to get it up! So I open photoshop and go looking for the file.

Where'd I find it...?

...Nowhere. I KNOW I had saved it, and when I closed photoshop out last night, it didn't ask me to save. So I know I didn't forget to save...but I just don't seem to be able to find it! I even looked through my temporary internet files and didn't see it (I thought maybe I had been working on the version I had downloaded from Vernixii and saved it as the same file, but NOOOoooooo.)

Then mom comes home and tells me that there was (another) watermain break at our old house and the whole basement was flooded. I LOVED that house, and since dad rents out the upper floors and lives some nights downstairs, I still get to go over there a bit. So I'm discouraged, but get even MORE discouraged when I actually get there and SEE how much water there was. It's a LOT worse than it was the last time there was a break (it didn't even flood the basement last time) There's, like, 3 inches of standing muddy water ALL over the entire space. Not just one room, but the ENTIRE basement. The bathroom, the closets....all the valuable things dad had kept there to be safe until he can move it to his new house. Apparently there was more water before he managed to get the sump pump and drains open.

So we mopped/vacuumed up the water. Umm...no other news, really.

Well, since this is the last day of the year (and happy birthday, Fyrien! XD) I figured I'd do something to celebrate, besides the normal staying up until 12 and then having a party at the town center. So here is is: Any questions that you guys ask me today I'll answer 100% truthfully. As long as it's asked before 12 PM EST (or close enough/with good excuse), if I read it tomorrow ('cause I'm not gonna be on the computer all day...) I'll still answer. And it might be through notes, if I don't feel like making it public (but that'd only be if you guys are really mean. :3) But whatever: fire away!

Well damn. Mom doesn't seem to want to let me use her credit card on the internet (okay, that sounded bad XD I meant like I'd ask her to do one thing (SUPERVISED) with it, and then I'd pay her back) so I can't do two of the Christmas presents that I was planning on. I'll have to figure something else out, or else wait until I have my own (how old do I have to be for that, anyway?)

Christmas, for me, was probably the best I've had so far, even though there wasn't as much money going around as the other years. But that's fine by me. 'Cause the things I DID get were important to me, and not just little things that parents buy for the sake of buying. And also I hadn't counted on dad for much, but I got a good amount from him I got quite a few books that I'd wanted, including the other two books in the Scavernger Trilogy (Shadow being the first; the series by K.J. Parker), WEWY and Guitar Hero World Tour for my DS (which are amazingly fun games), clothes and rain/snow boots (for walking to and from school during bad weather XD) a Wacom tablet, and money. ^^ Dad's side gave me more of the little trinkets, and I thanked them each just as much for them. I just felt happy that they'd tried to give us a good Christmas, and that's enough for me ^^

And looking back on 2008: I think that overall, it was the best year I've lived through so far. ^^ I've had so many good experiences happen to me, and it was mostly a very successful year. I've never really felt so...proud, maybe, of any year that I've accomplished. But it makes me feel good ^^ In case I don't get another journal out before 2009, Happy New year, and lets try to make it as awesome as possible!

I've been wondering where my excessive Christmas spirit energy was, since it hadn't kicked in yet, and I just got it this morning when I woke up. Cutting it a bit close, but at least I finally feel like it's Christmas. Unlike last year, where I didn't feel in the mood at all, not even on Christmas morning. It's a relief to finally have that bubbly excitement again

So, yesterday, I'm working in Flash, and the phone rings. Mom picks it up, talks for a while, then comes into my room to tell me it's dad. (Groaning...) I pick it up, and listen to him blabber about whatevernot for a while, you know, just making light conversation. I hate it when he does that. He says something, and then a very long silence ensues. So I know that's not what he called to tell me about. Finally he gets to the point: Christmas morning, he thinks he's going to ask Evelyn to marry him. Personally, I don't really care. I'm just...bored with it, I guess. Really: it's his life, and I've distanced our relationship so much that it doesn't really feel like it'll affect me (even though I know it will...) When I get off the phone I just HAD to tell mom (darned my big mouth...)that he was thinking about it, and she goes off and asks things like "And how do you feel about that? Do you feel happy? Are you worried at all?" >.>

I told her just as long as they don't make me come to the wedding in some pretty fancy dress, I'll be okay. (I was thinking more along the lines of NOT coming at all, but a tux would be the next best thing, I guess....)

Okay, so first off, that's a pretty creepy stalker song. I've mentioned before, ne? "He sees you when you're sleeping, he knows when you're awake...." Seriously. Perverted Santa...*is immediately put on naughty list*

Okay, so for Christmas, I'm planning on getting my mom a few books, one including New Moon (though I'm not a fan myself, she liked the first one). I'm also going to get a few close friends SOMETHING. I don't care how long it takes (lol summer, maybe?) but I WILL get them all something. I already have something in mind for one of them, if she doesn't already get it....>.>

We got our new computer just a few days ago! It's new and shiny XD I don't have an account on it, though, because I has a Lenny...but that's okay. The other computer's also Vista. I've heard the two extremes on Vista, so I guess I'll just have to wait around and see what mom thinks about it.

Okay, so I think I'm done with my new CSS! I like how it turned out...and this is more of a test journal than an actual update, so don't pay any attention to it if you don't want to XD I'm still working on a few things, so bear with meh!

Oh, okay, so REGULAR news time! We got our new printer/copier/scanner, and figured out how to get it to work, for the most part! X3 So Now I have a working scanner at MY house, and don't have to rely on my dads' or grandparents' houses for scanning abilities!
