Well, sorta... In Minnesota we pretty much only have two seasons, summer and winter, lol. The hard frosts are coming and so are finals! Soon enough it'll be Winter Break and I'll be free! <3

I've been sketching lots in my free time between classes and even got Halloween art that I didn't have time to finish... All in due time! I'll upload them as they are finished and with any luck I will at leat post a birthday gift for ! Woot, 20 years, babeh!

I saw two gray squirrels reinacting the balcony scene from Romeo & Juliet today on the side of Memorial Hall at my campus. The one squirrely climbed up the side of the brick building to the waiting squirrel that was on this balcony thingy. Once he got up, they cuddled. It was adorable. X3

Just yesterday I found out that the annual tour my orchestra goes on is gonna be a week in Florida and we get to perform outdoors! ^_^ This is totally awesome but, unlike our last trip where the college covered expenses, now we need airfare. The college is saying we have to pay $450 to go. I am an unemployed college student and my parents are trying to toughen me up for the real world so I now have to come up with half of the money by December! That's only two and half months or so until I need to pay up! T_T

I'd really like to go and with no source of income at the moment that stretches me kinda thin. Sooooooooo, I'm officially opening COMMISSIONS!!!

(I'll try to get up some of my more recent art for examples.)

Between Muffin and I, we've got a basic layout for our AnimeDetour 2010 Artist Alley table already that will majorly help reduce clutter and make us look a lot more professional. We'll be working on bookmarks, buttons, prints, as well as many other odds and ends. Muffin will be selling keychain charms and duct tape roses, I'll have wire bound earrings, opsneakie has dice bags, and ladyinkblack will have duct tape shoulder bags and wallets for sale. If I get enough practice in I might do henna tattoos as well.

Registration for AA tables and the convention open in the next month for April 2010.

I've also planned a few matching cosplays to go with Muffin! I'll be starting to sew my Zelos cosplayany day now that I have fabric and my wig is on order while Muffin will be doing Sheena, both from the gamecube game Tales of Symphonia. I will be repeating my Kakashi sexy jutsu cosplay with a few minor tweaks to the costume to make it more wearable and Muffin will be sexy jutsu Shikamaru, both from the Naruto world (or rather fandom). Last but not least we also will have Cat girl cosplays! =^_^=

Totally on a different line of thought but still a funny story involving catnip. My neighbors gave us a big bucket of fresh catnip plants since they know we have lots of cats and it's been sitting in my garage drying out for at least a month now. I decided to try it out by pulling off one stalk's worth of leaves and sprinkling it on two of my cat's. The effect was quite comical so my dad decided to make a larger nip toy for them. He found an old sock, stuffed it with a bit of newpaper and shook at least eight stalks worth of catnip into it before tying it off. I hadn't realized just how powerful that stuff is, but now we can only give it the cats in short blocks of time. I could smell just how powerful the nip was from walking into the same room and all five of my cats just sit around it high as kites. One always grabs it and licks the thing until it's moist all the way through, Patches, and by then Thimble has her tongue hanging out she's so doped up from the scent of it. -face palm- That's when we put it away. I'm pretty sure Patchy is addicted to the stuff now from the way she comes running every time I take it out. Oh the powers of catnip. XD

I started an internship at a nature center, the best griggn' summer job evar!!! <3
Anyhoo, besides that amazingness, which I shall spare you the rant, I just got back from CONvergence!

Nyeh, I usually talk about cosplays but both of mine this year totally flopped...
On the up side I happened to buy a costume as well as have a spark of inspiration on my way to one of the panels. Thus I had a steam-punk/victorian-esque outfit as well as a Sookie Stackhouse cosplay for True Blood, woot! I have pictures too! ;D

Meh, was popping in and out of the art show all weekend and bought a few prints but had no chance at the auction. I lucked out on a fancy light up wine bottle of "vampire wine" for my mom's b-day that I got at quick sale, yay!

Spent a few hours of playing/mostly setting up an rp called "Don't Rest Your Head" w/ moding. Eheh, my character, Adam woke up on a river bank wearing only a pair of jeans and covered in someone else's blood. He hides behind some bushes and is about to get chased down so I chose to leap out and swiped a fedora offa one of the creepy pin-head baddies (literally pins for heads like a compass), and rushed off, narrowly avoiding getting stabbed and trip down the riverbank, waring into a freakin' oubliette, how awesome is that. John liked to describe it as similar to Labyrinth, so basically it is epicness! While we were up there we got thirsty/needed caffeines so I nabbed an empty, heavy, metal pitch and walked down to consuite to fill it with mellow yellow, all the while with my maniacal, grin as I looked like a maid gone wacko seeing as I'd commented earier about what a good murder weapon the pitcher would make. Yush, in jest, but terribly amusing at 2 am.

Nyeh, I shall do my best to pile on the pictures, both photos and art soon-ish since there's lots to post! Ugh, arts need cleaning up in photoshop, but there are plentiful photos besides! Not to mention that I should be popping up in the convergence photo gallery this year in my silver wig and new brown victorian-style dress I bought from Lady Heather's Fashions! I had a shared art table w/ Bekka and spent a lot of time hanging out with John (Bekka's bf and our table bitch :3) and Gwen .

Basically Bekka already summed it up pretty well since we were always in the same place all weekend most of the time (since I crashed at her place overnight) so yu can also go read her journal and fave her lovely arts! [link]

Mew... Anyhoo Friday I wound up making my prints veeeery last minute at OfficeMax and then actually got to the con first so after winding around the find the end of the line for what seemed like a good half mile.... I finally held a spot while peeps showed up. We set up and actually sold more in our first 2 hours than we did during all of Kakkoi-con last summer. ~_~ We were generally very busy with table bitches fetched us noms and pop while we sat and I even got a full inked commission the first day, yay! ^o^

Went to the yaoi panel (ohoho, my first real dose of yaoi, now I seek it out actively, mwahaha!) hosted by :iconyukikousagiaway: It was essential awesome and every time someone walked through our pael room to get to the WTF?! panel we shouted "BUTT SEX!" Kat was sitting next to me so I had to join in... XD

We were hanging out by the source of foods, consuite for a bit until we decided we were too tired. Back at Bekka's I decided to get sleep as opposed to finishing my new button designs... not such a good idea. Saturday morning I was mostly doing a few quick commissions (one of an adorable fursona wolfie/husky!)and furiously working to clean up my button sketches with my tablet, but realized I forgot my flash drive, NOES!!! T_T I wandered around downtown St. Paul thinking the print shops were open, but to no avail... Headed back and found out there was one just up the block and this dude helped me make my prints and saved me and thank you DropBox dude!!! <3

I cut out my newly printed button designs, which will be posted here eventually... along with my others which I realize never did make it to dA, and they started selling like hotcakes! I really should have made more bookmarks too, but I thought they were too expensive/time-consuming to boter with all of the leftover ones I still had from k-con. I sold a few of my wire-wrapped earrings and a few more prints, but SUPER EPIC PRINT BUYING DUDE came early next morning and bought 7 of my prints at once!!! <3 I looooooove him!

Saturday night I also got to go to the rave w/ Bekka, John, and Gwen, yays! It was super fun and the Joker cosplayer that Bekka shoved me into glomping and was later group-hugged by was there shirt-less, eheheheh... And katamari cosplayer, an actual katamari ball! XD The lighting and music at the rave was super fun and we even got to do the electric slide. I probably would have stayed longer but some girl dancing in high heels (not me, I had changed out of the sexy Kakashi 4-inch heels earlier) stabbed Bekka in the foot so we went back to her place to crash in a tired heap, me pinned under twin kittens.

Sunday was slower sort of, selling mostly buttons besides epic print dude. The AA was open until 7pm the first two nights and apparntly not non, but 3 on Sunday so we stayed until we had to pack up all three days. Profits were good and now we can save up for an amazing pro-ish button press! We saw a few that the other AA artists had and they were so shiny and made gorgeous, large buttons. I sort of figured out the tric to prevent our little hand presses from making crap-tastic buttonsand it just means tilting the apparatus upwards to get it to work quite well, as suddenly of success rate of maybe at best a fourth of the buttons being really sellable to almost no mishapen or munched buttons!

My fave christmas presents this year are the phone, tablet, and PS3.

I got a red Blackberry Curve [naming it Sheena as per a request from my bf so that he is not too jealous of it] since my old phone was over five years old and had been dropped a few too many times. Now I have a shiny new phone to play with and set better alarms to keep me on time! >.>

My parents got me a Bamboo difital art tablet which I have yet to set up, but will most certainly be playing with soon and it even came with three diffeent painting/editing programs! <3

My family got second large LCD TV and so Santa brought us a PS3 for our HD flat screen. I've already discovered the amazingness of it's HD capacity after watching Prince Caspian on it. Very cool game which I planto be very obsessed with over the next few weeks: Folklore. It's so freakin' cool and the graphics are soooo pretty!!! In other news, I believe I've mostly recovered my sanity after recent crap-tastic events have transpired. I've taken up volunteering at my local humane society as a stress reliever so I get to cuddle kitties for a little while every week. Now that I'm happily unemployed, I'm looking for a low-key on-campus job at my college to have a bit of cash on hand so I'm not eternally broke. ;^.^

As I previously said, I'll be attending AnimeDetour in the spring as well as CONvergence and Kakkoi-Con with any luck. Not sure about any other artist alley tables for now, but me and muffin have already paid for and hope to be more prepared for a table at Detour in April. I'll be doing:
- henna tattoos
- bookmarks
- prints
- buttons
- chibi/sketch commissions

For now I'm content with slowly making my way down the list of bookmark ideas and trying to find time to practice my henna. I'll rack down eventually.

Due to my recent acquiring of more free time, I will likely have more time to sketch, yay! I'm also finding much more passion in my violin playing, and even though I miss my old orchestra I feel like maybe it was holding me back. I'm feeling a sort of transformation and coming out with my musical talent and expression/musicianship.

- I finally renounced my fake religion my parents imposed on me, never asking my opinion and just assuming I was a devout Christian...
- I tried proposing t0 my parents that I want to move out and onto campus at my new college and they flat out refused me, my mom threatening to disown me if I tried anything drastic.
- I made an amazing friend in Carly at Augsburg, and I don't know if I'd have made it this far without her.
- I try to draw, but in an effort to avoid my parents, I've ebeen on my laptop and don't currently have regular access to my scanner and all of my photo/art files on the other main computer and I don't have Photoshop on my laptop yet...
- I got a new job at Office Max and still have to figure out how much I can work there and still have time for homework.
- I got my permit, but haven't had any time to learn anything about actually driving since I'm on the outs with my mom mostly right now for obvious reasons...
- I've been losing control and breaking down from stress at least every other night for the last two weeks.
- I just want to get out...

On the upside Chibi Toaster set up across from us and I has new friends, yays! She's one of my best friend's sisters and I commished a lovely sketch of D'Eon and Durand from her from Chevalier, and traded one of my bookmarks for some of her super cute buttons!
I guess I should get on to what happened... Well, first day I got to Bekka's [link] house just at noon and basically piled all of my stuff inside her door only for us to move it all the way through her house and out the back again to the waiting van and just as we are abouts to take off my dad runs out after i thought he'd left and handed me my sketchbook! Best save ever!!! It had all of my sketches I'd planned on coloring @ k-con! ...So saved my ass.
Anyways, we made it to con and mah bf Malcolm was w/ us as pack mule, yays! [Thanx, btw] As we pulled up around the hotel the ungodly long line looooomed! It streatched all around two sides of the hotel outside and another length of the htoel inside! HORROR! Bekka's mom dumped us at the entrance and we discovered our saviour! Teh con ppls told us we could go into the mini line for AA, dealer, VIP pre-reg passes! We waited not even an hour and went to set-up. I chose the fisrt table I saw a ree and that was that, we were prolly three or four tables up of the left for location purposes and just outdie the dealer's room. First day wuz s-l-o-w... I think I made six dollars total... I drew some stuffs and wandered a little. I gots depressed that night about it and couldn't sleep so I was a little grumpy Saturday morn. I made another six dollars that day and sketched some stuff I'd never done before: CHIBIS! Bekka thought it'd be a good idea, so I drew some color chibis of Axel and Roxas to pin to the front of my set-up [which was crap-tasticly organized and changed at least every five minutes on the first day, bleh]. Later I made up one of my three fave characters from Bleach: Kisuke, Rangiku, and Renji! Second day I sold one sketch of a naughty mermaid and a few buttons and third day I sold about three chibi commishes that I had never intended to do as of the start on con, but somehow it just happened... I will post teh bleach one later as a 2,000 hits for dA.
Last day I gots coffee and craziness, teh caffeine fairy gave us Mountain Dew at ten in the morning, so I was pretty wired for the first few hours. That day I made my grand total of 23 dollars for all of the con, not even a single pair of my earrings sold, nor did my prints!!! DX
Next con [hopefully AnimeDetour] I will have chibi commish as one of my mains and have less bookmarks and prints, more buttons and color! I have learned much so it was not in the least bit a waste. ^.^

- I loves Rock Band! The most worth while thing @ k-con was the game room. RockBand is out for Wii! I am plotting some way to buy it as soon as possible! My dad even hinted I may be able to use mah grad monies!?
- I wuz recruited to join teh NekoArmy! Yays! XD [I has been admiring them ever since I saw them @ detour this year]

- I am strangely tempted to started trying to draw yaoi... o.O

I need to color all of them as well as pop out about another ten to twenty designs since my current selection is kinda lame... I also need to finish any other color sketches I want as prints by tomorrow night for my dad to go make the prints (yay for cardstock making it look high-quality) I can hopefully settle on some prices soon as well. I need to print my bookmarks tomorrow and cut them apart (decided on 2"x5" bookmarks). After I have all of the prints taken care of I've still got a butt-load of earrings to make! I maybe only have twenty pair now, not nearly enough if they sell as well as I hope... I can fairly well mass-produce the things if I layer a half dozen pair out at once and make my way through them in forty-five minutes, but that's w/o distractions which I find quite easily with my short attention span...
I just hope i'm not totally dead before con. It starts Friday, but i could seriously use another week on all of this... I was even away all weekend so there was very little production besides one more color print of a new OC I made up. Hopefully I can scan in my new art and bookmarks soon as well as upload all of the amazing pictures from my weekend trip to Duluth and Goosebury Falls.

Thursday (yush, four day con for ten year anniversary) I went to Ikea for breakfast before my parents dropped me and Bekka off @ the Sheraton. Once we got there I found out just how huge the con was! O.O The hotel was huge, but since we'd gotten there so early no one was there yet! There was no line to get our badges since we weren't pre-registered and we got our badges hot out of the laminating press! Once we'd found Francis and gotten our room keys from him we dumped our stuff and I finished doing up my cosplay of a black catgirl w/ a lot of tricky eyeliner many layers of clothing to deal with so it took longer than I'd hoped to get going. Didn't have a lot to do so I drew for a while and we met a few randopm people to hang out w/ for a few hours before I got restless and wanted to move around. Once we were off exploring there really weren't any panels for hours yet, so we swept by the consuite for some eats, found out where everything was and checked out eh dealers room before the rush. I was so lucky, I found what I wanted right away and then kept kicking myself mentally whether I should buy it or not... I finally did, it's a beautiful recreated American Civil War saber w/ metal sheath, so pretty! I stowed it in my room and we met up w/ everyone else almost instantly as if they'd melted right out of the wood work! I followed people I knew around for most of the first day and went to bed early as I started to feel kind of lost...

Second day I cosplayed as Lia de Beaumont and took far too long to let my hair air dry and then straighten the unruly cowlick in my bangs and then curl my hair, so everyone left w/o me. I'd woke up really early for lack of sleep and we all finally met up in the courtyard area w/ all of the skylights. I'm pretty sure everyone had a cup of pop or coffee at nine in the morning as we were all really out of it and insanity ensued as I taught Peter how to flip a paper cup off the table. I was feeling out of place and bored that everyone was so low energy later that I went and saw Vexille in one of the movie rooms and then took a nap back in the room before hopping up again to go rally everyone I could get to go see Chevalier D'Eon w/ me. They played the Japanese version, so I was frustrated by the end of it because no one could see the subtitles and the french wasn't pronounced right, so the names were confusing for people. After that we met up for more craziness and then went to go see fireworks for the 4th. After that we saw Fanboy Bebop and laughed ourselves silly at the fan dub.

Day three was another early morning as we hadn't all died yet. I spent at least an hour prepping my D'Eon de Beaumont crossplay outfit and trying to get the sword belt to feel right on my hip. A lot of people nticed my cosplay and admired the coat, I only wished I could say I'd actually made it myself... Before Kakkoi con I think I'll tailor it to fit better and actuallt sew the buttons on so I can enter the masquerade there... Checked out the dealer's room some more and went into the art show and stuffs until two when I went to a croset making panel and decided afterward I should give it a try. I saw Peach Girl after that w/ Bekka and Gwen and then the three of us got some dinner and met up to wait in line for the masquerade. It was really fun, but slower than the one at AnimeDetour. Less enthusiasm though. We were also pretty close to the stage so I got a lot of cool videos of the cosplays, but I'm not sure how video works for uploading to dA... Next, went to see Moulin Rouge in the movie room then on to another fan dub anime: "It's Gendo" a insanely funny parody of Evangelion. I took a qick nap and was back at it to go see Elfin Lied until 4 am when I couldn't even see straight anymore. AS I went by the main courtyard, all of the party rooms were still in full swing and every other person was drunk and partying all out. The noise level even from down there carried all the way up to our room on the fifth floor, but I still managed to get three hours of sleep, more of a nap really...

Fourth day or rather the last morning of CON I staggered awake went to see My Neighbor Totoro @ 8am, then went to the craziness of the Iron Artist panel w/ Christopher Jones, John Kovalic and other guests of honor artists. Even thought it wasn't kid friendly humor, it was still a riot. Along with the Evangelion parody, it was probably the funniest thing at CON. There was even a muppet! XD I got some lunch somewhere, I don't even remember, btu before that I'd gone to the art show and wanted to buy prints, but I had to go out into the 90 degree humid climate outside w/ all my suffocating costume on to reach an ATM. CONvergence is July 3-6 and I'm going! My parents said they'd give me the money to pay at the door since I missed pre-reg and I can stay in the hotel room for two nights w/ my friends, yay! (I've got to be home for a party on the 4th)

I might be a bit overboard about the idea, but I'm really desperate to get out of the house what with me being so far away from all of my friends now that no one comes to visit... I'm all alone w/ only my nuisance of a younger bro to pester me. I feel a little bad for my neighbor's dog I'm watching while they're out of town, Bud certainly seems to enjoy my company while his family is away; he looks so lonely by himself... Maybe my mom will take him for walks while I'm gone...

I've still got a huge list of things to do before Kakkoi Con in 4 weeks! I've yet to make prints and I don't havbe any completed button designs either... I do have my brush pens and liners now but I haven't found the time to work on anything worthwhile with my parents making me get the last of the stuff moved in while they work opposite shifts... *sigh* At least I get my own room far away in the basement and all new furniture...

On another note, my dad and little bro went to Brickworld in Chicago for the weekend and so I was alone w/ my mom for four days. I took placement tests on Thursday and so my mom took me to Wetpaint finally and bought me around fifty dollars worth of brushpens in all sorts of colors so I can get my button business going for con! I also got a button maker a little while back, so I'll be making up designs for those soon. My table partner reserved us a hotel room for KakkoiCon in August and it sounds hopeful that I will be going to CONvergence in July too! When my dad gets back from his Chicago trip today he said he'll pay my way and let me stay in the hotel room w/ friends for one night. I have so much to pay my parents back for as of late... I guess its premature debt w/o deadlines, but they get most of my con profits unless I get a job soon to pay them off that way first...

Well, hope everyone's having a great summer! So far mine's been full of really sunny nice days followed by tempestual rains the next... mother nature can't seem to decide on a pattern yet. @.@

So many things have happened in the last month, so here's a few of them:
- I moved! It wasn't very far in reality, but I feel so far away from my friends now.... T.T
- I was accepted and will be attending Augsburg College next year!
- I finished high school and graduate on Tuesday!
- I did a field study at Crosby Park and have loads of interesting photos as a result.
- I've been playing with my macro function on my camera... heh.
- Senior Prom, duh!
- I started drawing again and have found at least some of my art stuff after the big move.
- I have a completely new room to now decorate and I've found out how much of a slob I can be when I don't have anywhere to put things (i.e. we're furniture poor now that our house is twie as big).
- I miss DeviantArt!!!

^_^ I'm so happy to be back and it seems I've been through so much, but there's still so much more to come! Thank you eternally to everyone who has helped me get through the ropugh patches in the last few weeks and also to those of you online who haven't given up on me yet! I love you all!!!

I've been super busy with finals, IB testing, moving and graduation all coming at me in the next few weeks. Hopefully I'll keep up my work and get a few sketches and photos uploaded now and then.

I is amongst my peoples! >.< I fit so well with teh anime/cosplay crowd 'cause they're just as crazy as me! [I exploded when Bekka held up a cookie and I spazzed out, raving about the cookie-stealing squirrels that nobody else but me seem to see! >.< I drew much attention *blushes*]

I have so many fun memories from Detour and OMG I spent so much money! T.T I had to restrain myself, but I still bought something every day... I even bought two real swords [one a day for the first two days... >.> Not obsessed, really...heh...;>.>] along with many other random things I may of may not have needed....

I is in the process of uploading all teh pics from Detour, just check back in every few days or so for another batch of 'em.

So many cosplayers, yah! There were some really awesome outfits, but I couldn't get pictures of them all even if I wanted to. It was so crowded sometimes....

There were some amusing unofficial photo shoots for DeathNote that I got pics of for you fans.... A few yaoi-like ones in teh mix as well... Heehee...

I cosplayed too! Friday I was Rangiku Matsumoto from Bleach, Saturday I went as my d+d character, Soleil, and Sunday I went as a black fox, tail and ears included [[link] Kari and Bekka towed me around by a leash attached to a harness and I wore a bell on a chain collar for effect. The "Foxy wants a hug!" sign I wore got me a total of 26 hugs and I got glomped for the first time as Matsumoto as I was going outside... Teh guys looked at me strange.... eep! O.O *hides* Ish taken! >.< I have some uber cute pics of Malcolm totally in character as an imp from Okami. *squeals* Soooo cute!!! *glomps*

I can't possibly try to recount all the best moments, but it was just amazing! >.< My first and favorite con, yay! I'm thinking of going to CONvergence in July now and I'm still up for KakkoiCon in August as well. Hope to see ppl there!

I've got to finish a cosplay outfit for Matsumoto from Bleach and I'm still debating whether or not it's worth it to make the twin falchion blades for my d+d cosplay as Soleil.... (they'll prolly be cardboard if anything, lol.)

This is how I think we're going so far: Friday is group One Piece/Bleach cosplay, Saturday is I don't noes..., and Sunday is our group d+d cosplay.

I think for Saturday I'll just wear what I wore to the Kim Harrison book signing... [check it out, I made her website: [link] (scroll to the bottom pleez!)]. >.<

I reeeeally hope we can convince Malcolm's parents in time to let him come... I've never been to a con before and it's a little bit daunting, meep! O.O I need someone to hide behind and fend off potential glomping fans.... T.T

I've now got a good bit of photos to post from my five days of traveling around the city. Sorry about a lack of recent stuff since I haven't had much time at all for drawing or much of anything else for that matter with so much make up work for school. Hopefully my photo collection will carry me for the next few weeks until I can get back into drawing. I actually only drew one sketch while I was on the bus, but sadly nothing else....

Sorry for the delay, but new deviations are flowing in. I've scanned in a lot of new stuff so I have a small backlog of stuff to post, yay! The reason for my lack of artistic presence you ask? Well, that's because I've been prreoccupied with my now rather chaotic life... *sigh* I now have a boyfriend to live up to as well as upcoming college scholarship deadlines and IB/AP testing in just over a month or two. Not only that, but I'll be going to Chicago in two weeks!!! >.< My orchestra is traveling by bus for five hours all crowded together with out instruments, oh god! *heads head with palm* What am I going to do all that time?! Well, there's something for you, anyone lnow any good bus games? I'll probably be able to keep hyper for the first hour or two, but I fear I'll petter out and just end up hoarse and lightheaded. If it's not too bumpy, I'll try to draw and maybe I'll have some cool pictures to upload too!

For my birthday I got my own digital camera, so for a while there will be batches of photos with some sporadic drawings as well. I hope again to pick up the colored pencils which sit under my desk in their lonely little tin...
I've been doing a butt-load of sketches, but haven't finished a single one of them! So sorry... *cries* Well, I really think this week will turn me around and I'll finish a couple to post. Also, I promise at least one colored composition! I may not be on until the weekend, so bear with me...

It'll be pretty crazy tomorrow between my insane friends out to get me, Anime Club after school, and a totally new, amazing D&D campaign! >.< I bought Dragonfly wafer sticks for sharing, yum!

As for the art update... well I haven't had much time to procrastinate like usual with finals coming up next week (Teh Week O Doom!!!) Ugh, so much to study for cumulative finals! I have at least been playing around with new character designs for my D&D character though, so something should come of that this weekend as far as submissions.

Well, it's finally 2008, my graduating year!!! I'll be a college student this year, scary! O.O

I posted my first of 2008 pics today, yush! As for the first official sketch I did in the new year after midnight last night, it's dedicated to my favorite pirate femme ever, Jacky Faber! It's an action pose of her brandishing a pistol and her rapier, Persephone [that is before it was lost to the watery depths].

I've become once again engrosed in finishing Mississippi Jack because I have so many new and wonderful books I want to read! For Christmas I got the Golden Compass and it's accompanying books as well as a plethura of other amazing fantasy novels. I even got The Sweet Far Thing the day before Christmas even though it wasn't due out until the 26th!

Unfotunately I haven't gotten out to an art shop to buy my first copic marker set like I promised myself, so I'm still doing all pencil sketches and squirming by with fine tipped sharpies and the likes. I haven't had as much time as I would have liked to do color art, but perhaps there's more on the way. I'm still finishing up a long overdue gift for a friend's birthday that requires full color as well as high quality prints on thick paper, blarg!

Aside from my crazy mornings at school I've had some more time now what with the muscial over to sketch and design stuff (actually not much, just when I'm procrastinationg >.>. Thus, I have more art at the ready! ...Of course I haven't the time to scan it all in let alone do any color art yet. T.T

On the upside, I won second in the anime club art contest, but I don't know if Egg's submission counted as first because they already planned to use it as an anime club poster.... I did a group pic of Bleach characters. I'll put that up with the next batch along with a few of my better sketches.

In other news, I'll be going to Anime Detour with my anime club buddies in the spring, yay! I'm cosplaying as Sheena from ToS as a group ToS cosplay with some of my friends. For another day I thought I'd be Rangiku Matsumopto from Bleach, but that would mean buying a lot of black fabric that I'm not sure I could afford. (*cough* I don't have a job yet, so I still bum off my parents who aren't exactly fans of my anime/manga obsessions) It'll probably be hard to get any money for anything over the next few months, so instead of presents for christmas I'm probably just asking for money (Aside from AD, there's also a trip to Chicago with my school orchestra in a few months and I have to think aheaad to college too!) I think I'll be forced to get a job this summer....

Another fun thing I learned today is that my friend (also on DA as MuffinSquire) is going to be getting a table at another con in August and has invited me to share it to sell my own prints! I'm not totally sure if it's a go or not, but it's something to hope for!

There was one new color art done as a contest entry and there will be new sketches up over the next few days. I'll space them out, so that you have something to look forward to.

This first one is a sketch I did at anime club today. I was bored and not particularly amused by how immature high school boys are. >.> ...Moving on, there is a contest in anime club for a poster design. My challenge is to make a drawing with three or more characters from a popular manga/anime so I can get a lot of popularity and buzz on it. I think I'll put up my preliminary sketches on DA and you all can rate them and give me feedback on which I should enter. The entry is due in two weeks on the 30th, and I can only choose one for the final. I'll mark the sketches I made intentionally for the contest, but if you have a suggestion for improving a current sketch of mine to fit the bill, then by all means give me your comments.

I've got a whole bunch of sketches and possibly some more color art comin' in the next few days. Since it's a long weekend, I can probably get a lot of them up on DA pretty soon.

Also, I'm feeling a lot better. My toe was just sprained so I can walk fine again. I thought I was getting sick, but after a good nights rest I ended up feeling better.

Well, actually most of it happened on Friday I guess. In the morning I fell down an entire flight of steps coming down from my bedroom in the morning and now my left big toe is sprained/broken, I don't know, but I guess there's no way to put fix that but wait 'til it heals. I'm sore all over and then I got in a verbal fight with a guy friend who I now hate beyond reason. Last period I had a statistics test, bleh, and then I found out that Anime club was canceled for the third week in a row for the first meeting! In stead, I still had to go to my first meeting as the co-head of painting crew for our fall musical, Pirates of Penzance. I went home and practiced, then went to my violin lesson which went better than usual. Finally I got home and got to eat dinner, but I ended up breaking down about my fight earlier and decided to go to bed early.
Now, I'm totally drained and I still had to clean and do yard work today. Now I'm tired and just want to curl up and sleep with my kitties on my soft blankets.
I've done more sketching recently and even some color work, but once again there is the problem of my scanner, argh!!! As soon as it's up and running, I promise at least ten new works if not two or three times more than that over the following few days!!!
Since school started I've picked up on more fanart stuff and rp character designs which I'm too lazy to start up in rp guilds on Gaia. [[Btw, if you want to find me on Gaia, I'm Athena_kitty on there]] Since I've kinda got down proportions better, I've moved on to costume design and detailing. I make sure to use smaller widths so I can fit more fine lines in since I mostly use pencil.
Also, last week I went to the first meeting for French Club and my design was voted to go on our t-shirts, yay! Now, there'll be over 50 people in my school wearing them and I'll see people wearing my art for the first time, omg!!! I also found out that the Saint Paul Public Libraries finally made my bookmarks which will go out to libraries citywide!!!
So even though I still limp when I walk, I've got a lot going for me right now. Hopefully I'll find time to spend more hours working on my deviantart page.
