I'm typing this on my mom's laptop.

On Thursday night my hard drive decided to give up the ghost and die on me. My little Maxtor drive served me faithfully and without trouble for eight long years before clanking to a grinding halt a few nights ago. The read/write heads that record and read the data on the platter broke and it started to make a grinding noise and lo and behold - The Blue Screen of Death beckoned and it was swiftly ushered unto the realm of digital paradise. I haven't backed up my data since last April so I lost all of my recent work - music, stories, artwork - everything. Yeah.

All in all I think I'm taking this rather well. Partly because I have plans to send my hard drive to a company that will hopefully be able to extract my data and also because I bought a new hard drive.

So now I learned my lesson to back up my data more frequently and not wait so bloody long to replace old components before they choke to death from age and senility. All I need to do now is wait until my computer formats my sweet new 1 TB drive and then I can start the long process of reinstalling all my drivers and programs.

It might be awhile before everything is up and running again so I may not be posting any artwork or stories in the meantime. I'll update this journal again once I've gotten everything straightened out and then the creative process can begin anew. Wish me luck! :D

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween. This is one of my most favorite holidays of the year other than Thanksgiving because I love dressing up and I love the decorations and general spooky atmosphere. I'm very fond of horror movies and scary things. :D

As is the rule rather than the exception, it has been quite some time since my journal was last updated. I find it difficult to keep one since nothing much of interest ever happens to me and who on earth would want to read about the trips I make to the grocery store, my homework, or that its Laundry Day anyway?

Anyhoo......

I got accepted to the University I applied for and will be studying Fine Art with an emphasis on Graphic Design this spring. I hope to double major in English as well since writing is another passion of mine but I'll have to see how that pans out. :D

I will be graduating from my community college this fall with an Associate of Arts degree. Wooo! Pity that the Commencement Ceremony isn't until May though. :c

As for personal projects including artwork and writing - I've been trying to keep track of the things I'm currently working on in the box below, but when inspiration strikes its not uncommon for me to deviate rather unexpectedly from the List. Running willy-nilly through the uncharted forest is more fun than plodding sedately along the super-highway, yes? ;p

Well that's all the major noteworthy news I have so far. It might be another month or three before I update this journal thing again. So until then - be safe, eat a ton of candy, prank people, and scare yourself silly - its what Halloween is for. :D

I'm back from hiatus. :iconimhappyplz:

My absence turned out to be rather longer I expected due to a lovely bout with salmonella poisoning over my vacation and then college classes starting up again. Needless to say I recovered, though things were looking rather grim for me at the time, but at least I wasn't hospitalized. And now the Center for Disease Control has me under a microscope because there have been several other cases reported in my county. ^^;

It'll take me some time to go over the enormous backlog of messages that built up over my absence. I'm a master procrastinator when it comes to answering my messages and notes. ^^;

I probably won't be as active as I was in the past because of my classes. I've been incredibly spoiled with only having a course-load of two classes for the past two terms and now I have three to deal with. Artwork and writing stories may also suffer a lull since I don't get a whole lot of free time after studying. Baaawww.

Anyway, it's my dad's birthday today. LET THERE BE CAKE! :D

Unfortunately I won't be able to keep up with replies to my plz accounts very frequently until after Thursday, so ~Halautoplz, ~Nemplz, and ~Friedrichplz are most likely going to have to be placed on standby until I can get through this week. I want to thank everyone who did wonderful and funny artwork of my characters, I really do appreciate the time and effort put forth in making fanart and I'm sorry I haven't been able to reply or note each one yet. Hopefully when I get some time off after the summer term ends I will be able to go through my backlog of 100+ messages. ^^;

As of today the 2805 community is now a year old. :iconimhappyplz:

Having an online community and RP group based on a movie that is still going strong after a year is rather significant to me; it shows that the energy that drives the creative process and interest in the 2805 and Wall-E universe has not faded and died out. When I first become focused on a particular film or story the interest gradually cools and vanishes after a couple weeks or months if not supported by other people who share the same interest and greatly inspire me with their fanart, fanfiction, and RPs. I was living in Seattle when Wall-E was released in theaters and so I wasn't able to join the 2805 community until I had moved back home, sometime in August of 2008. I'm glad I did.

I met some wonderful people who've helped keep the creative fires burning, who've managed to re-kindle the motivation to create art and write - two outlets which I had abandoned and let rot for the past few years. Their sense of humor, common interests, wildly creative ideas, epic internet adventures, and friendship have become something I look forward to every day. They've also helped generate the most amazingly epic stories and strict RPs and also some of the most outrageously funny crack RPs I have ever seen. The accidental typos certainly help with this process too. :XD: So here's a toast to you, Hams. I hope many more anniversaries await us in the future. LET US EAT CAKE!
