I had a journal here originally. Asking people to stop the unnecessary flaming.

But I've given it some thought. And decided I don't want you guys to feel guilty about something I asked you all to do. I still don't approve of senseless, mindless, unnecessary amounts of flaming. But these people seem to be asking for it. Plus, it's getting funny with the addition of other tards trying to pin me with being a stuck up skank with a bad case of butthurt.

So, no. I won't ask you all to stop.
I'll just let you know that I don't approve of the crazy amounts of mindlessly flaming. If you're in the right, you don't need to start insulting people's mothers or grammar to get your point across. That alone is the sign of a tard. How somebody writes has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Nor will making personal assumptions solve anything.

If you're going to argue with these people, I ask that you do it intelligently.

As I had said before: It's like going into a political debate and shouting "FUCK YOU" the whole time. It only serves to make you look like an idiot. Instead, try presenting your side of the argument. Our argument it pretty sound in this case. We have no reason to be childish.

Or really to continue the flame war at all really. There are better things we, as an art community, could be doing with our time. But, if you must, let's stop with the death threats and the making 10 comments in 40 seconds nonsense. I went over there once and the whole main page was full of comments (and I mean just first comments, not replies to previous comments) made by one individual. I mean, my goodness...

The pose is the same, the markings are poorly mimicked but obviously copied, even the accessories and the description used to describe the character is the same. Notice:

Notice how every little aspect of the markings are mimicked exactly. Even the little spots and licks that come off of the flame markings, even the little peek that forms on the top of the rear left paw marking. Even the half triangle weird shape formed by the front left forepaw marking. Even the perspective of the markings on the chest. Everything is copied from my character (except the far hind leg, which was shifted in the drawing).

Yet this person refuses to admit it.

The sheer severity of this copy cannot possibly be a coincidence. Yet this person refuses to admit it.

Tired of seeing so many people purposefully break the rules and the law without any negative consequences, I make this piece of art theft public. So maybe this person (whose fursona is even a ripped off character) could learn that all negative actions have an equal and negative reaction.

I'm tired of being taken so likely.

I'm freaking exhausted.

Took us some 4 and half hours to get from Philadelphia back home to New York for the holiday weekend, and even then it was the worst drive ever. Only an hour and a half of sleep the previous night, my dog turns out to be horrible in the car (he drools like crazy, gets real anxious, and pukes... I had to hold a bag underneath him the whole time), and after we got home my brother decided to verbally kick me in the stomach and only add to the drama for no fucking reason. I have the headache to end all headaches (which I've recently discovered is called a migrane, who knew? I always thought they were just tension headaches), my mother is asking me to cook, my brother is whining about the fact he has to cook (gawd forbid he ever have to touch a pan), I have to get my hair done tomorrow, I have to tolerate all of my usually annoying friends all weekend, I have to juggle my dogs all weekend...

And every minute of the day yields some more bad news.

My grandfather is dying in the room down the hall. Doctors expect he has less than 6 months left, he's refusing to eat and the only way we can help him is by having a nurse come in. But our house is a mess and there is a significant possibility that, if viewed by someone in the medical profession, they might accuse us of neglect- which is a criminal offense. But the fucking tard I call my brother won't clean his fucking room because he's more concerned by his "relaxing" weekend... like he doesn't get a chance to relax in Philly. All he's done this passed week is play the new Call of Duty game and write a paper or two. And he's the one complaining of a relaxing weekend?

I got 1 and half hours of fucking sleep over the course of two fucking DAYS. And I still didn't get my homework done... and he's the retard complaining...

I really dislike my brother.

*sigh*

Anyway....

I'm not here to complain to you guys. There's nothing most of you can do or say to change my mentality or anything. If anything, all of this is probably annoying you (I know it would annoy me). I'm just here to say that I am I one of the worst places mentally that I have ever been in. So if I snap at anyone, or do anything unintentionally obnoxious... or even intentionally obnoxious, I'm sorry. I swear upon my life that I don't mean any of it. I appreciate and love the people I know on Deviantart and the idea that hundreds (or even possibly thousands) of people, of real people, know of and care about me... it's my reason for being. And I appreciate it all.

I'm just having a difficult time keeping a handle on my sanity.

Needless to say... it might be a little while before I can properly judge my contest.

You guys remember before, when I said my hard drive was on its way out?

Well it finally gave up the ghost Wednesday night. My laptop refused to accept the fact that it had a hard drive. Which sucks since my laptop is just over a year old, way too young for such a major crash. But I believe it was a manufacturing issue, since Dell agreed to send me a new hard drive free of charge, so that's a plus.

But, that means that, until I get my new drive (which won't be until after Thanksgiving probably), I will not have my shiney fast laptop. :[ Instead, my father ~obo666 brought down my desktop from New York. Mostly so I could get my homework done, since my hard drive decided that midterms week was the PERFECT time to keep my from coloring my Background Design homework. Super...

Anyway, go visit ~obo666 and thank him for being the most awesome dad in the world, providing you guys with my delicious art again.

Just wanted to let you guys know where I've been for the past 48 hours or so.

DON'T FORGET: CONTEST ENDS IN TWO WEEKS (Nov. 22nd)

My harddrive was very WOAH WAT R U DOIN today... to the point that my computer wouldn't start. I've already done what was necessary to figure out how to fix it and, as you can see, my computer works now. But I'm just warning you guys now that if my laptop does go, which it very easily could in the next few days, you will not see hide nor hair of me or my art. It's hard enough to get work done when everything is in proper working order, let alone when my computer's down.

So, if I disappear, that's why. My harddrive is on the road to a total crash and, though I have all of my art files, I could very well lose all of my programs and games and such... which sucks.

On top of that, the regional transportation company is fixing to go on strike so I might not even be able to get to school to do my work or go to class.

World's going to shit right now basically. Pray with me that the Phillies don't win another world series. -_-

Just needed to get that dog advice journal off of my page.

I appreciate everyone who helped me. You've all pretty much confirmed my suspicions about my dog's exercise needs and what not, and have even offered some wonderful suggestions as to what I am to do about it. Unfortunately, every single solution involves the spending of money I simply do not have (I have all of 50 dollars in my bank account right now, which is supposed to cover all my food expenses, school and transportation expenses, and supposed to buy me ink for my printer somehow) so I cannot do anything about my dog at this time. But I do appreciate and plan on implementing your suggestions in the future, once my funds have been replenished... if they ever replenish.

I tried opening commissions again to raise money, but due to the fact that many other artists also opened up their commissions, I got nothing out of that. So, we'll see what happens.

Anyway, I'm talking too much. I just want EVERYONE to stop commenting on that journal, please. I know you all love dogs and I'm sure everyone has a different suggestion or thought that they think may help, but please, I'm getting tired of it. X3 Like I said, I DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY, and every single comment I get involves me either buying something or is completely unrelated to my problem OR is something I already do. I got a lot of OMG READ/WATCH THE DOG WHISPERER but understand that I am a huge fan of Cesar ALREADY and have been since a young age. But watching a tv show does NOT make you the dog whisperer so that is not only a solution I have tried but also one that has failed in certain aspects to my dog's training. I also got a lot of suggestions to "stop giving him animal-shaped toys"... the toy he was tearing up was a rubber tire. He doesn't have any "animal shaped" toys, since common sense clearly indicates that such toys would only encourage the maiming of animals

I'm sure you can see how this would be annoying after about 200 comments or so.

So, I kindly ask you all to give it a rest. I know you all just want to help and I appreciate it, but understand that I have moved on. This was never THAT serious an issue to begin with. Jaeger is a good dog, I'm not having so many problems that I need to drop everything and change the way I do things. He just lacks obedience (which costs 120 dollars, thank you very much) and exercise time. I have a plan to get him these things but I can't do so right now. So let's just drop it and go about our days, yes? :3

Anyway...

Let me stop typing. I'm just doing this as a means to procrastinate on my homework. >.>

I'm having a little bit of trouble with my pit bull and was wondering if anyone out there has any advice. It's not urgent, just causing me to be a bit concerned. Jaeger likes to tear apart his toys. And I mean reduce them to shreds. It's almost like an activity for him, something he can do when he's bored, but he gets so obsessive with it, I'm beginning to think it may be cultivating aggression toward small animals. He doesn't act overly aggressive with the cat but he tends to get very fixated, and will occasionally bolt after and paw at the much smaller animal, as though he sees the cat as a toy. That or he sees the toys as "prey". I mean, I don't have the training experience to tell whether it's one or the other, or if he's just being your typical pit bull and this is really all just play. I just don't want to encourage him to rip apart small animals.

So I am desperately in need of money again. Having a dog is expensive, especially one so large. And, after paying 250 bucks just to be allowed to have him here, I still need to buy him a bed (as he keeps sleeping on ours)... which is like 50 dollars at minimum, a harness of some sort since the choke chain is fairly ineffective and the harness we currently have is already wearing out being made of flimsy nylon... a leather/double layered harness runs between 50 and 70 dollars. And then I just recently bought him some Frontline which was another 50.

This dog is hemorrhaging money. At a pretty bad time too since I still have to buy all of my supplies for this semester AND I have bills to pay.

So,I'm opening my five dollar sketch commissions again. I won't start working on them for a little bit: I want to finish my old ones first, which I am in the process of doing as we speak. But I really really need the money asap, so I figured I'd start compiling the list now. I've only got a few old sketches left and a few larger scale commissions that are all about half way done.

So, for those of you who don't know: My fundraisers involve single character (mostly) full body sketches for 5 USD. Other characters may be included in the scene but each extra character is another 5 dollars. I accept both animal and anthro subjects, and even humans is you so desire. Sketches will not be colored but can be at a later date if you would like me to, and if I continue to need the money.

If you would like one, please send me either a note or comment here with: a character reference image, a short description of the character's personality and what you would generally like to see in the sketch (ie- character leaping at something with the intent to attack it, character acting playfully, character interacting with another in such-and-such a manner, etc).

Anything that can be contributed is appreciated. And be aware: all of these need to be paid via Paypal. Please don't buy me extra subscriptions. My father takes care of my subscription here to DA so that does nothing for my personal funds. I cannot buy dog supplies with a sub. X3

I apologize to everyone. But I have come to realization that I am somehow, in some way, driving myself crazy. And Deviantart and checking my messages for hours on end is not going to help me. Not when I have finals to do and life is stressing me out to the point of sickness.

So I'm taking a break from DA.

I will likely still come online. I use DA to get refs for my artwork and such. But I will not likely be checking my messages. So if you have something ungodly amounts of important to say to me, send it to me on Youtube or contact one of my friends here on DA and ask them to pass on the message. Please don't spam them or anything, that would make me feel like a shit head. But they will probably be the best way to get in touch with me right now, so... it is what it is.

I kind of need them... really badly. But it's always 2 in the morning when I need them and they're never around. It sucks that way that keeps happening.

Anyway, keep doing what you guys do. I'll be back once I get my head on straight. Probably right after finals.

I want to apologize ahead of time should I snap at anybody. I'm really just... I'm really sorry. I really try my best to be as wholesome, well-mannered and respectable as possible. I really do. But it is a tendency of the Pisces astrological sign to sacrifice oneself to the point of utter misery. And that's where I'm at right now. Trying to find a balance between what I can do for others and what I can do for myself. I want to help others but I HAVE to help myself... So, I'm conflicted, I'm irritated, I feel misunderstood and isolated. I am constantly reminded that I have maybe one friend in my entirely life that I can confide in, at least in real life. I have great internet friends but the internet aspect of it makes it impossible for it to be completely satisfying emotionally. So, I dunno. Not in a happy place. Trying desperately to get out. Stress weighing me down. Need to cut down my responsibilities for a short time, until I can get back on my feet again.

So I'm cutting out the internet as much as possible. I just want to relax.

Oh and, just so a certain someone knows: our conversation helped me to realize that this is something I really need right now. I am not running away, being chased away, nothing like that. I am not deliberately trying to avoid anyone. Just for the record.

Theme

Paige, my ever so loveable anthro brown/spotted hyena, needs a significant other. Specifically, a girlfriend. She is a lesbian, don't ya know. ;3

Rules and Requirements

Image should be in color. Traditional or digital, makes no difference.
Image can either be a character sheet or it can depict a scene or activity of some sort. The latter is preferred (particularly if said scene involves Paige) but either one is fine.

The character does have to be female. However, all other physical characteristics are up to you, including but not limited to: species, clothing, height, weight, etc.
Fantasy and prehistoric species are allowed, as well as hybrids and mixed species. Please be aware: this is a character design contest, not a "let me use the weirdest, craziest species I can". Paige is just a normal brown hyena and I personally prefer realistic designs. So don't make a point to do something fantastic and crazy unless you have reason to. Random/Weird does not equal "creative". It does equal "thoughtless" and that will do nothing but count against you.
Please no original species. Just to make things easier on me.
Please avoid horribly mature scenes. I understand that Paige can be a little provocative as a character, so suggestive themes that simply imply mature themes are fine. But nothing outright pornographic, if you would.
Everything else is completely up to you. :3 Just remember: this is a CHARACTER CONTEST. Emphasis should always be on the character, not necessarily on the artwork.
Character may be drawn as either an anthro (strongly preferred) or as feral animal that can easily be translated into an anthro.

But my apartment has its own public internet connection. It just sucks largely, since it's used by everyone who lives here.

Getting my actual internet on the 26th.

I would like to thank everyone who replied to my other journal. But I'd mostly just like to put it behind me. I prefer to live in the moment, and not worry about the past while only preparing for the future, not really worrying about it too much. So, for the moment, I am fine. Dad's coming up tomorrow so I can get some furniture. Then I can take a picture of my bedroom and do that room meme Kaylink tagged me for.

Didn't get finished moving last night until 2 am, didn't get to bed until 3 am... had to get up at 6 am for a morning class. My first commute into center city was done after only three hours of sleep. Moreover, I was in school all day... I'm still in school and it's almost 8 pm.

I have no tokens to pay for the train ride. I was going to break a 20 but the opportunity never arose. I was going to go get food with a friend. She decided she'd rather eat out with her parents... so, not only did she skip class this morning so I came in on the train alone, now I have to walk back to the apartment... alone. Dragging a heavy thing behind me... but what does she care? She got to eat out with her parents- Gawd. I sound like such a bitch. I hate it when I get like this. ><

Why shouldn't she get to eat out and have fun and be with her family? Why is that such a bad thing? Just because I'm miserable, she has to be too...? I mean... I didn't want her to be miserable. I just hadn't seen her all day... and I am hungry... and cold... and crying. And nobody's here. I had to call my dad. I had to call my freakin dad. Who the fuck does that?

I just came from a room full of people, and, sad as it may be, I explained my situation. I have homework coming out of my ears. I have to get back to the apartment so that I can do it, and so that I can actually begin to unpack things since everything is tucked away in various boxes. I thought I could do this with my friend... and her parents. Her parents are awesome. It would be fun?

No... They're going to go out and have their stupid fun while I sit in my dorm room alone (my dorm room having internet but absolutely nothing else in it), knowing I should be getting back to the apartment so I can do all my stupid work... do it all by myself... after spending all day all by myself... My friend skipped 3D, I had no one to really deeply talk to at all today until Anime Club, and even then everyone was too busy watching Youtube videos... Despite the fact that I expressed my concerns, about homework, about not packing, about the fact that me and my friend/roommate ate out YESTERDAY... No one cared.

Too bad Jess. Get on the damn train by yourself, go in your goddamn room by yourself, and do all of your work by yourself. With no internet, no furniture and no care... You're a social retard. You should be used to it.

Yeah... sure.




I have no idea why this is bothering me so much... but when the rest of the world turns their back, the internet is all I have.

But now, I have to leave... because the sun is going down and, though I think it'd be a fun bit of irony if I did, I'd rather not get raped or killed walking back home alone in the dark.

So... later deviantart. I'm sorry for whining at you. Especially because this is going to be seen by people mentioned in it... and I just feel like a douche bag for posting it. I don't want to make people feel bad. I just want everyone and everything to be happy. Doesn't have to be perfect, just... you know... I dunno.

I forgot to make this journal earlier but, today I finally got to move into my new apartment with my friend and now roommate *Kyatto. This would be totally fuck nuts awesome if my internet service provider, Verizon, would stop being total twats. I called them earlier in the week, trying to get them to move my service over from my dorms to my new apartment. But apparently, this was too much for these people, so I have no internet in my apartment, nor do I have any hope of getting any before the weekend.

So I have no idea how often I'll be able to get on from now until next week. But, it is what it is.

I have to get back to moving. So... see you all later I guess.



EDIT: So I totally forgot that the school here is full of computer labs. lol X3 So I'm currently stealing time whenever I can during any of my computer classes or, just, whenever I happen to be in Center City or at the school for whatever reason. I'll try to answer some messages here during class today (I'm currently in my 3D Modeling class) but I make no guarantees as there are only 5 people in the class. So if I'm typin away while he's talking, he's going to notice.

But I'll see what I can do despite that.

I know you guys are all probably horrendously excited about this lame ass comic of mine.

I have to admit there is still quite a bit of pre-production stuff that needs to go on. At least four- no.... five, six... Something like six character sheets need to get done before the meaty-portion of the comic gets underway, but I can start on the first "issue" as of now. All of the important characters in it have been designed and it's been completely written out for... months now.

However, I need to touch base with my production staff before anything can go underway, to be sure everyone is still on board and what not, and to find out if anyone else is willing to help, should assistance be needed.

Currently I have ~Dante-D down for lineart and *Kaylink down for backgrounds. If there is anyone else I approved for some job or another with this comic, then you'll have to let me know because I've forgotten. X3 Which I do a lot, so please forgive me.

If either Dante or Kaylink want to back out, I'll be sure to let you guys know so I can refill their positions. No one is getting paid for this so, it's not a big deal if anyone changes their mind about working on this...

Um... there was one other thing...

Oh! I want the opinion of the general public on this one: do you guys think I should make a separate account for the comic pages to be posted on? Or should I just post them here in my gallery and make a gallery folder for them?

Also, how many of you guys would consider purchasing a cameo for the comic? They wouldn't be expensive (5 dollars maybe, possibly 10 but no more than that) and would come with a comic specific cameo character sheet. All of those funds will go toward drawing materials (pencils, rulers and measuring tools mostly as well as any ink used to seal up the borders/gutters of the comic pages, since I will be drawing this traditionally) and toward possible future merchandise should this prove to be popular enough. Production staff will also receive a cut of the profits since they are helping make this shiz. X3

That is assuming there even IS any profit. I don't intend to make huge amounts of money off of this thing, really. But characters will be plentiful and cameos make things a little easier in terms of providing us with background characters. So, I just want to know if you guys would be interested in seeing your characters in this comic, possibly even with important roles, for the price of a small fee.

I had a bit of an emo moment there guys, which I would like to sincerely apologize for.

All I wanted from my life for the passed 48 hours was an orange and blue hyena fursona, but was not happy about the design I came up with. So I asked for opinions on how I could fix that, but failed to alert you guys to the fact that orange and blue were of the utmost importance. So I got quite a few suggestions involving color changes, which... I dunno, spiraled out of control weirdly in my brain.

I can't really explain it too well, but understand that I had been messing with my fursona all day today as well as the day before, doing nothing but changing the shade of her mane and markings: making it slightly darker, slightly lighter, slightly darker again... over and over and over again, then asking my friends for their opinions. And none of my attempts seemed to work. I had to have made close to 20 versions, all with different shades of blue and it was rather aggravating, the fact that not a single one seemed acceptable.

I apologize for letting this stress me out as much as it did. I shouldn't have done that, I shouldn't have thrown my little hissy fit at you people, most of whom were only trying to help (some of whom were just trying to be douche bags). Fortunately, this was nothing more than a momentary lapse of judgment so I am well over it now, back in my right mind and realizing how retarded I was being before.

For everyone who gave me a suggestion: I want you to know that I appreciate it. I did not mean to seem... rude or unpleasant when I received your comments. If I did, then I'm sincerely sorry. That must've been the (honestly nonexistent) stress talking. My perfectionist ways caused me to lose it under all of the failure I felt I was having. That's my only excuse and it's not a good one, so I do not expect any real forgiveness at this time.

I just want to make sure you all understand that I am no longer upset (and really haven't been for the past hour or so, since I have an amazing friend named Kaylink) and that I will be keeping my fursona.

And, again, I sincerely apologize. I normally work so hard to keep my emotions under control, letting logic and sensibility guide my actions. But I had a bit of system failure today. I am sorry.

So I did ultimately decide to bring my gallery back in its entirety. I really enjoy showing my artwork to masses of people and I enjoy the feedback I get from them even more, so I felt like DA would be more helpful than it was harmful. Even if one of my designs is stolen for profit or whatever, the critique and confidence I get from being here would allow me to create more characters ten times better than whatever single one was stolen.

Besides, art is supposed to be a method of communication... and it's honestly difficult to communicate with people using artwork you haven't shown to them, you know?

It's REALLY nice and only a short subway commute from the school, out in the University district of Philadelphia which is almost unnaturally suburban for a big city like Philly. The place we have our hearts set on has a courtyard and everything, surrounded by trees, down the street from a grocery store. It's like... perfect, and half the cost of our current living arrangements if we can get a third roommate. Even with just the two of us, it'd still be hundreds of dollars cheaper.

AND, best part, they allow PITBULLS. <3 So I will be rescuing one as soon as my school work and living arrangements permits it. *bounces*

.... was amazing.

That's where I've been since... Thursday, for those of you who didn't know. Big ass anime convention a few hours outside of Philly. I got to stay the whole weekend with my school's anime club for just over 100 bucks and it was awesome. I gots a fox hat with cute widdle ears on it and I gots a Sailor Moon art book of awesome and another bit of Sailor Moon arts in the form of a flamingly gay badge... But I rike it. >3 Oh and I got a Death Note wallet to replace my slightly awesome Pirate one... because I like Death Note more than pirates.

Seriously though, I love Death Note. But I've had enough of it for one weekend. So many L's.... and so many Misa's.... It was ridiculous. If I never see Death Note or Naruto or Bleach ever again in my life, it will be too soon. x.X

Oh and I think I saw =siriuslylostwerewolf walking around in some sort of Bleach cosplay.... but I didn't say anything. X3

Probably Spire because he's so difficult to draw. Either that or Spinway but I've barely developed him so he doesn't have any emotional attachment yet.

4) Who is your most developed?

Probably Kagiso. X3 If not Haruka. I admit Kagiso only has a backstory. She is not currently involved in any sort of plot-like interface... Though, if we take life plots into consideration, then Sharp is probably the most developed. I not only know everything about her, but I also know her past, her present and her future. I even know how she dies.

5) Which OC would you want to date if they magically came to life?

Ezhno, hands down. XD He's one of those nice guys who will do anything for a girl so, obviously, he's most eligible. Plus, he can turn into a doggy-like wolf. How cute is that? Though if we venture off of my lazy-list, I'd probably get along better with Wolf. He's obedient enough that he'd be fun to date, and his fearless, thoughtless, almost daredevil-type nature might get me to come out of my shyness shell a little bit. But, we're opposites in terms of general personality so I'm not sure if I could really tolerate. X3

6) How many girl OCs do you have? Boy OCs? It OCs?

Um... Oh boy, this is a task... *thinks long and hard* ... I think I have 6 females... I know I have 3 'it's... the rest are all male. So that's 57+ male characters.

7) If you were stuck in a burning building what do you think the third OC on your list would do?

Third? Who is that... Haruka? Pffft. She was probably the one who set the building on fire. My guess is she'd point and laugh, but I'm not sure. She'd be much more likely to shoot me in the face than light a whole building on fire.

8) Name one thing you regret about one of your OCs.

One of them? Um... Ronny and Blake... I can't draw foxes so I've been drawing them horribly up until late. X3

9) Which of your OCs do you think would make the best father/mother/it parent out of all your OCs and why??

The best? Yikes... Um... Maybe... Um.... Idk. It's hard to pick just one. Sharp would be an excellent mother, she has a lot of maternal instincts that she makes every attempt to hide. She's very protective, doesn't let anyone boss her around, and would be a very strong, responsible but otherwise very caring parent... Though she lacks a little compassion when others are having problems. On the other hand, Kagiso has proven herself an excellent parent as well, for pretty much the same reasons. She and Sharp have very similar parenting instincts, only Kagiso's are more... complicated because she's (pretty much) human. But she does whatever she can to make her son's life as cushy and happy as possible, while still being fairly protective and watchful of his happiness.

10) Which of your OCs do you think will most likely be put in jail?

Haruka... I didn't even have to think about this one. X3 She keeps guns stashed on her person at all times, for heaven's sake. She likes to SHOOT people and would already be in jail if her boyfriend wasn't the type of lawyer that can sell ice to an Eskimo... And I forgot that not all of the chairs in the world are like my dorm room chair. So I was eating dinner with my folks and went to lean back in the chair (my chair in Philly is a rocking chair type thing where you can lean back on it and sit at an angle)...

and I ended up on the floor.

Totally unharmed despite all of the debris but... it was an epic failure. Very funny though. We lol'd.

But I'm just so busy and stressed and a little pissed off at myself. I just can't. I'm sorry.

It's like I'm the only one who gets homework around here.
And no one else in this school seems to care about the fact that I have homework.

I can't wait until I get my own apartment and move out of these retarded dorms. -_- Where apparently, they find it highly amusing to turn off the water supply, only to alert us about it AFTER the fact.



I just got back from art history, all happy that I have a good 40 minutes until my next class. Usually, Art History runs right up until noon, in which case my next class starts at 12:30, so I only have maybe 20 minutes to gather things, double check files (my next class is a computer class), and eat some sort of lunch material so I'm not starving at 4:00 when my afternoon class is over... But today, I had plenty of time and aced the quiz I had this morning. Happy fun teims right?

Wrong. I go to fill up my noodle bowl with water (since istant noodles is unfortunately the ONLY thing I have to eat for lunch around here) and nothing comes out of the faucet. It gurgles for a minute and then hisses with air instead.

I kind of freaked in my head for a minute, thinking I'd broken the kitchen sink... somehow... by just turning it on. O.o We've had problems with the sink before though so it wouldn't surprise me. So I go into the bathroom, see if the water works in there. Buttkiss.

No running water in my apartment. That's just great... I'm paying forty thousand dollars a year to be here and they can't go two minutes without turning the water off. >.> They've done this before... twice actually. Both times, I go to wash the dishes, water doesn't run. One time, my roommate was in the shower when the water suddenly clunked out on her (which made me lol. I'm sorry but the bitch deserved it... please excuse the language but she spent six hours in the shower one time. She freakin' annoys the heck out of me). Two hours later, we found signs posted up in the hallway "OH BY THE WAY WE'RE GOING TO TURN THE WATER OFF"...

So how much you want to bet that when I come back from class, there's going to be some signs up about how they're doing maintenance or some nonsense /long/ after the fact?

Hate these friggin' dorms. >.> Love the school, hate the living arrangements. I can't wait until I get my apartment... and the complimentary pitbull that's going to come with it. <3

STATUS REPORT: I apologize to those of you still waiting on commissions. I assure you that I am working on them. The problem is that this past week, I had a long lapse in my inspiration/art drive, which has caused me to be behind both on these requests and on my homework. I really must apologize to people already waiting on me for artwork, but I seriously have like no money right now and getting a job (with all the schools in the area getting off for the summer this month) is almost impossible. So I REALLY need some money like right now, and, in order to try and get some as quickly as possible, I'm offering some cheap sketch commissions for $5 USD a piece for one character, $10 for two.

I only have to say: No spiders, because I am unfortunately seriously terrified of them (and I draw them so well that I scare myself, silly as it may sound). Any other animal is fine, including humans and even backgrounds.

Since these are only sketches, I can work on them/do them during various classes I have during the day so it's unlikely that it will take me more than a few days to get your commish to you, and for only 5 bucks. They will all be either 3/4 view (waist up) or full body, possibly with shaded in markings depending on your character's complexity.

I just need enough so I can buy some food for the week. So... maybe ten, but I'll take as many as are offered. I'm pretty much broke so... whatever I get will be appreciated. :[

I cannot wait to get the hell out of this building. I love AIPH, I really do. But god damn, this fucking housing system. I am STILL not registered to live where I live. I've told these idiots in the housing office what feel like FIFTY DAMN TIMES that I freaking live here on the 15th floor. I attempted to move out at one point but, because of negative conditions, I decided against it (both me and my friend) and returned the key along with a letter stating that I did not want to move. They said in the room change agreement that you were allowed to do that and they even allotted for a few days to give you a chance to.

But still, after something like 5 or 6 months, they STILL have not fixed my registry. They fixed my friend's, oh sure. She's good to go, but apparently I'm not allowed to live where I freaking live. Clearly.

Over those 5 or 6 months, I kept going to housing, every time a guard would stop me (which is rarely, the guards here pay little attention to what the computer says when your ID is scanned) and say I didn't live here when I do. And every time, I always got a shrug and was told to go to the registar's office because, obviously, the problem is with my ID. BUT I KNOW GOOD AND WELL ITS NOT. The guards keep checking the list of students they have and every time they look up my name, they tell me I live in the other building, and send me back to housing and the irritating agitating cycle begins anew.

....

I'm just really aggravated right now. I can't do my homework, I'm just about to be kicked out of my home, I'm tired and feel kind of sick.... Aggravated.

I wonder if I can sue the school for a refund on my housing bill... since CLEARLY this is a rip off. With how much I am paying to live here, these people should at least be able to change their god damned computer system.

EDIT: By the way, I'm not sure if these things pop up in ur inboxes as I return them but I'm going back through and putting everything that does not depict a specific character back into my gallery. I was apparently unclear in this but when I say art theft, I am mostly referring to theft and copying of my characters. I am a character designer by trade so it is the design, look and feel of my characters that is important to me, not so much the exact pose or image they are depicted in. And that is something that is unfortunately stolen from me A LOT.

But, I'm going to return what I can. When I put all that stuff away in storage, I didn't really discriminate. I sort of chucked it all away since there was so much, but I'm going through now and putting up everything that is either unimportant or does not have a specific character in it. Or, if it does have a character, the character is one that I cannot make money off of in the future, such as Tugan, the Sylphoid *CunningFox allowed me to design. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't possibly sell his design to anyone, as his species is not mine. X3 So I feel comfortable putting him back up here. The same goes for Gavin and Big Daddy and all of those critters. Their species don't belong to me, so I feel no need to jealously guard them. They are not really entirely mine... you know? X3

Anyway, just thought I should mention that.

Pontiac was a good brand. Very good even. Even the most amateur car enthusiast can respect the classic GTO, it's been featured in movies and on television countless times. Even before then, Pontiac was one of the first brands of car, going back to the 1920's even. So many classics.... I saw a Star Chief just the other day. Beautiful car, so classy, so old school retro.

The Trans Am, the Firebird, hell my mother had a Sunbird that lasted her 13 years! My dad has had... what? Four Pontiacs? If you include his current G6, which is a damn nice car if you ask me. Not as nice as his last car, an Oldsmobile, but it's more fuel efficient so I like it. I hate driving it though... too big for me, but so was the Oldsmobile.

Goodness, I can't believe they're phasing out Pontiac... I just can't believe it. Now I'm all depressed.

BAW I SAY. BAW.

I know very few of you guys care. Most artists (I've noticed) aren't into cars, but seriously. Pontiac is one of the oldest brand names out there. And it's about to be gone for good. That's saying something... That's saying a lot of something, when you think about it.

On a side note, I had trouble sleeping last night. My roommate across the hall kept turning the air conditioner off despite the fact that it was 90-something stinking degrees outside. >.> Though I went to bed early, I only slept for two hours before I woke up, sweating my ass off. Took me another 2 and a half hours to get back to sleep again. Lots of wandering around a pitch black apartment, went to the bathroom more times than someone should in 2 hours, and drank a quarter of a gallon of milk. It was pretty miserable.

But outside of commissions and artwork for other people, you won't be seeing any artwork from me.

I was recently linked to a journal written by someone who talked to the DA staff and it very blatantly stated that DA felt no obligation to take responsibility for the theft that occurs on its pages. It stated that the anti-right click code would not be reinstated and basically that it was up to us artists to take care of our stuff.

You know, the same way it's up to us women to keep ourselves from being raped. Clearly, if you are raped while a police officer is present, he has no obligation to help you since obviously you did not take every precaution you possibly could to keep from being raped. Obviously.

DA enrages me so, and they most certainly are not worthy of my 30 bucks a year. So, thanks for playing DA, but I'm out. If you guys would like to keep up with my artwork, my friend and I are in the process of creating a website for ourselves, as well as a communal art forum to go with it. Once it is finished, I will post links here. But until then, you will not be seeing anything new from me.

I will still comment on things most likely but, other than that, DA might as well be Myspace or someplace to me: not some place to post my artwork.

*Skyrook's recent decision to leave Deviantart reminded me that I had been considering doing the same... but for a thousand different reasons.

Theft of course is a HUGE reason. I am a character designer by trade and, while I don't mind so much when people copy my drawings and poses (as those are not very important to me), people are stealing my characters and I simply cannot allow that. Those characters will one day be the source of my income, and if people on the internet get their sticky fingers all over them, the value of those once unique characters will suddenly plummet and it will become incredibly difficult to find someone who will hire me... because rip off's of my characters are all over the place. I know of a number of people who were ripped off due to art theft and copying of their characters and I don't want to risk being one of them.

More important even than that, though... DA is really boring now. It's full of Myspace fools and E-drama maniacs who seem to exist for the sole purpose of making people around them feel like crap (or for making sure the whole world knows that they feel like crap for whatever reason). It's becoming more aggravating than it is fun being here. Everyone is complaining, no one is ever happy, and I'm apparently considered a douche bag by the masses just because I don't like being asked stupid questions (you know, the ones that can be answered just by glancing at the freaking description. And I don't mean those questions whose answers are hidden deep within a mile long description. I mean one of those where the answer is in bold or capital letters and stated clear as day... people still ask them... hundreds of times and I'm suddenly a jerk because I don't appreciate that.).

It's just not fun to be here anymore. It's not about the art, it's not a little community full of artists interested in furthering their skills. It seems like it's full of hobbyists now who just want to be popular... so they draw whatever fad is at the top of their list (usually wolves or fanart or some combination of the two). And whenever you try to critique someone, they always flip out about how you're "attacking their style" or what have you and it's just... aggravating. It's an aggravating site- correction: it's full of aggravating people and, while it was easy to ignore them when I had like... 100 watchers, now that I have more than 1,700 watchers on DA alone (not includng Youtube people), it's not even half as easy as you think.

Being popular IS NOT FUN and I never wanted it to be this way. Well, I did... but just so I could have a chance to talk to artists I respected so I could learn from them better. But now that I'm here, I realize that I never needed to be popular in the first place. All it did was get my characters ripped off left and right, let's face it. When I created her, Sharp was the only fully hermaphroditic feral dog I was aware of on DA. Now, I know of at least three, all of which are at least vaguely german shepherd like, if not out right blatantly. One of them happens to lead a group of dogs and is commonly seen in a trio with two others. Sound grossly familiar? I'm sure it does.

Just letting you all know that I am in a very emo-cloud sort of mood right now.

I had art history this morning and my god, it has got to be the most boring thing on the face of the planet... and my teacher is very fun and quirky. Even she cannot make it interesting. But I try to endure because I fail at history and need to take notes and study and all that...

But I only got a few hours of sleep last night so, exhausted and without my caffeine to keep me awake, I fell asleep... twice. After struggling all class long, rubbing my face, getting drinks of water, even running across the street for some hot chocolate, I still couldn't manage to keep my eyes open. And she decided to make an example of me.

"You have to stay awake. I know the profile of someone who doesn't care and if you want to fail, I'll let you."

At first I was very BITCH HOW DARE YOU?! Because I care a lot about my schooling. She made it sound like I was deliberately falling asleep when I'd spent all class trying to sit in the most uncomfortable positions in the chair. I even sat up front so she'd be right in my face. I never once simply laid my head down and decided to go to sleep. I practically fell over, sitting bolt upright but just unable to keep my consciousness.

And she was all like "well obviously people who fall asleep don't care"...

But now I'm just emo because I feel bad about it. I didn't mean to fall asleep and I wish I had apologized. Even though I don't feel like it was my fault (4 hours of art history, I mean, come on. Who can manage that?), I still feel bad because I tried and I tried and I tried... and still I just... failed. So I feel like a failure. Even though I passed the quiz at the end of class, I still feel like a failure.

So please excuse my emo-ness. If I bitch at you, do allow me to apologize profusely.

And none of you mindless never-talk-to-me's better not say anything. I hate it when people who don't even know me try and suck up whenever I have a minor problem. You people obviously don't know me and I don't know you so I don't care if you sympathize or not. If anything, that kind of mindless sympathy annoys me...

I am desperate to let everyone know that THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO DEVIANART. I don't know if any of you have noticed but the screenname, "dragon_heart620", does not exist on the Deviantart database. This person does not exist on this website. More importantly, Deviantart does not have a "buddy list"... at least not one that allows you to "accept" people onto it. Okay?

So, no offense to people who have been sending this around, but think before you act. This message does not make sense when applied to the Deviantart interface. Even if you try to ban the screenname, Deviantart will look at you as though you are crazy. It doesn't exist, it's a prank, a hoax, and way too many people are falling for it so I had to speak up. Seriously, I got ten notes alerting me to this yesterday and five more today.

This message was pulled off of MSN a few years ago, where the threat was actually real and a real harddrive killer was attacking people's computers. It does not apply to deviantart in any which, way, shape or form and, while I understand the whole "I'd rather be safe than sorry" logic behind mass forwarding a note containing this message, honestly, why would you just make a journal? You know, one EVERYONE could see instead of sending a zillion private messages to someone who may have already gotten that exact same message? Hmm?

EDIT 2: Okay, I lied. I got it out like two seconds after posting this. X3 Thankfully, it is no longer vibrating but I have no idea if it's working or not. I think I'm just going to charge it and leave it alone.

EDIT: Okay, this is all fine and good. A lot of people suggested taking the battery out. Except, nobody seems to want to bother telling me how to do that. It's not a just pull and pops out kind of deal and I don't want to like... stick something in there while my phone is using the battery. God forbid I get shocked or, worse, break it. There are some screws at the top but the screws don't appear to have anything to do with the battery itself. Just the thing that it sits in...

So, anyone out there know how to take out a razor's battery?



So sometime last night, my phone ran out of charge. I have a Motorola Razor. You know, that silly phone everybody and their mother has? Yeah... Ran out of charge last night, started beeping to get me to charge it. Nothing strange.

I was asleep, so I didn't notice until this morning when I got up.

I also happened to notice at this point that my phone was vibrating... a lot. It was very similar to the vibrating it does when someone is calling me... which is also similar to the vibrating it does when it wants to remind me I've missed a call. However, it was more frequent, as though someone was calling me, vibrating constantly with no pause in between. By comparison, the reminder vibration only happens every minute or so.

Either way, when I looked at it, there was absolutely no activity. No calls being received, no calls or texts missed or anything. Just the blinking battery icon.

Confused, I just went off and plugged it in, hoping that charging the phone would change its behavior. But, no change. In fact, the little beeping noise sounded OVER the vibrating. So the two clearly aren't related.

Eventually, I decided to turn the phone off. But that only made things worse. The phone didn't turn all the way off. The phone itself turned off, I can't press any buttons and all the lights are off, but the screen is still on. It's totally blank, totally white and the screen on the front (as it's a flip phone, but you know that) shows the Verizon logo. More importantly, it's STILL vibrating. And now I can't turn it back on or anything.

I have no idea what to do and, unfortunately, since I don't have a phone in my dorm room, my phone is my ONLY means of communication in school. Fortunately, I'm at home right now, but still. Most people contact me via my phone... and even more people try to contact my mom through the house phone. So when they ask for her number, I usually get it from my phone. Now I can't. This is a problem. :/

Can't call my dad either. Since I don't know his number off hand, I just got it off my contacts. >.>

Please tell me someone out there has a suggestion. ><

So, I'm looking to put an ENIGMA team together to help me get this thing completed. You know, someone to do the lines, someone to maybe lay down some block/foundation coloring to make putting the markings on the characters easier, someone to do backgrounds... and such. I figured I could handle sketching and (maybe) shading the thing, since those are my two favorite things to do. But I feel like I'm going to need some help with the other stuff. I AM in art school, don't forget. I am surprisingly busy much of the time. If I had to do a WHOLE comic by myself, plus commissions, plus art trades, plus college stuff, plus shopping and adventures taken to keep myself alive living all on my lonesome... it'd just never get done.

The story is already laid out in its most important aspects. However, I designed it to have lots of filler space, so, in exchange for your services, you will be able to sort of dictate much of what happens during the filler archs and what some (or even many) of the filler characters look like/act like/etc. Further more, should I ever publish/sell the comic (which I'm more than 90% sure I won't), you will each get a part of the profit. More of this will be explored in private of course. Right now, I'm just scouting to see if people are interested.

However, this one is a thousand times more serious.

Apparently, someone by the name of Alfred Hundana (dragon_heart620) is spreading a virus that can and will attack your hard drive. It's not another of those simply annoying comment spam bots, this one will actually attack your computer.

Now, I admit that I know absolutely nothing about the details regarding this particular virus, but, I'd rather not take any chances and I advise you guys to the same. If you get any messages from this person, ignore them. Hide comments, do not view their page, and, if you can, block them from your page.

If you have any more information regarding this situation, please let me and all of your friends know about it.

EDIT: This may not be factual at all. I've looked into further and, according to my findings as well as the comments of other people, this does not appear to apply to DA. This person's screenname does not even exist on this site, and records show it was some sort of spam message from an instant messenger.

I'm still looking into it though, just to be sure. My laptop is my only computer, I'd rather not lose it.

This is DeviantART, not DeviantMYSPACE.

I like the efficient search bar and the edit buttons in the tops of all of the windows is a wonderful new additive. Now, please stop being like Obama and actually work on something of importance, that maybe... oh, I dunno, HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ARTWORK the url claims this site is about.

Oh, yeah. This is great. I have a very pretty page now... My character concepts (worth THOUSANDS of dollars should a company decide to buy one) are still being pillaged left and right.

I simply don't understand why no one wishes to do anything about that. If I had the know-how, I'd make my own damn art site. I have loads of ideas to at least hinder art theft and they'd probably do something if someone gave a listen or put them into code. Maybe not prevent it completely, but instead of spending weeks on this literally totally needless shit, I feel like DA staff should seriously be doing SOMETHING. Not only are they not doing ANYTHING, but they've actually removed previous protective precautions.... which again did not prevent art theft, but they did SOMETHING. And I know because I was part of many forums attempting to steal artwork from Deviantart, but couldn't because hotlinking was not available. Rather than figure out a way to steal, they just did without the artwork or used photographs. IT WORKED.

So all of you negative, careless people who think that art theft should just be "allowed" because that's easier than doing something about it (or, rather, the excuse I always get: 'eople will always steal from deviantart so why bother trying to stop it?' ), I appreciate how much you care about my well being as an artist, animator and character designer. That sort of opinion disgusts me.

You allow dishonesty, immorality, and injustice (outright theft we're talking here) because you fear failure. What kind of life is that? Really...

Usually I'm not one for this type of shameless advertising, but a lot of people think that the tablet and/or photoshop really make the artist. I am constantly asked if I use a tablet, and what program I use and how to obtain the two, as though Photoshop and a tablet is some sort of cure all for artists. And they aren't.

So a buddy of mine and I get into this elevator right, ready to go up to our respective floors and waste time until our next classes (which we don't have together but we see each other often anyway). We're chatting and joking about some of the freakishly disturbing cartoons we'd watched in animation class that morning...

... and the lights went out.

Remember, we're in an elevator. It starts up like always, the motor going, we start going up and then it jerks to a sudden stop and the lights sort of flicker off. This wasn't especially scary, honestly, my buddy's dorm is only on the second floor so, even if anything were to go wrong, we'd only be a single floor above the ground.

It was still pretty freaky, despite that. The thing was all jerking and stuff, like it was trying to decide whether it wanted to go up or down. It eventually chose down and we hopped off, saved some bystanders from getting on the demon elevator, and got to our respective floors safely.

But hot damn, when those lights went out, it was fucking scary. Anyone seen the falling elevator episode of Mythbusters? Yeah... not the kind of experience you want to have in your life. >.>

Or at the end of it I suppose...

The whole event honestly made me wonder... could you imagine what it would've been like if I HAD died? Not that I would've. From the second floor? Come on... But let's pretend that the elevator had let my friend off at the second floor, and started climbing to my floor (the 15th)... what if that was when it decided to fail? And I plummeted 15 floors to my doom...

How much would that have sucked? All of this money my parents have poured into my education and well being... Gone. Worthless, just like that. What would my dog and my cat do without me? Would they know? I've read stories of dogs who have keeled over and died at the same time their masters have met unfortunate ends for reasons no one really knows or understands, even though the dog and the human were in completely separate places. Do you think Sirius would have died, if that elevator had decided to wait a dozen more floors?

Would she at least known or understood in some way?

And what of my friend, who would have to know that our little chat about the party tomorrow night was the last conversation anyone had ever had with me... that the elevator spared her life but not mine... How weird would that be?

If anyone was wondering where I've been the passed few days, I have two words for you: Thanks... giving.

Had to drive down to Florida for my Grandfather's funeral, a party for my great-grandmother's 95th birthday (which I was thrilled about), and... well, just thanksgiving stuff. But, of course, my grandmother has little to no internet so... yeah... no da, no rp forums.

But I'm back now. At home for a day so I can get my braces checked. Going back to school tomorrow.
