Bleh. Another semester. Just thought I'd give anyone who cares an idea of what I'm up to instead of posting pixel pieces like I'd like to say I've had the time to work on...

This should be my last semester if I pass all of my classes. I'm taking 19.5 credit hours just to finish before summer, because screw waiting all the way until fall or possibly winter just to take one last course.

Two of the courses are pretty important to me--I'll be working on two separate projects, one for each. One will be in 2D(my little secret known as "Fat Money Cake" to my close friends and instructors), and one will be in 3D(quite probably a commercial for my new job at Penguin ([link])). So, I'll probably be posting progress shots here and there.

Speaking of jobs, I no longer work at Babies "R" Us, instead, I am now the whitest girl ever working at a chinese/japanese kind of fusion food court joint.
...I'm the cashier because my English is the best. >____>;;
But I'm happy there. Ethan, John, Conny, and Jia Jian(Joseph) are great.

Aaaaaaaand, last but not least, I won't be going into too much detail on this, but I am very hopefully going to be working with Alex Ahad([link]) and Less Than Three <3 Studios on Project Skullgirls. It would be nice to work with them even part, if not full-time as a sprite cleaner/animator. But I won't get ahead of myself.

Other than that, I'm still on a bit of a high from seeing Watchmen at midnight on Thursday, and the time change is messing with my head. >___<

Last night at 7:30pm, I had gone down to the Dundee Theater(my area's local art movie theater or whatever you want to describe it as) to view Don Hertzfeldt's part two to "everythingwillbeok" titled "i'msoproudofyou" as well as his other works. Then afterward was a Q&A then autographs because he was actually there!

It was an exciting night, and I would've gotten a picture if I hadn't already felt bad for holding up the autograph line by asking him to sign two dvds, my sketchbook, and a poster for my animation instructor. xD;

-----

Anywho, life as been a clusterfuck of busy. Hence the lack of deviations except for those two hilarious sketches and monstrous picture of myself.

Though, I have been itching to pixel. D:
I miss it. So, I'll open to freebie "gifts" if anyone wants to leave me a note with some inspiring stuff--website avatars, oc's, etc. ;D

Give me more of a reason to turn on my computer than to just check my email!

So, like. Tomorrow, I'm leaving for San Francisco, CA to visit my sister and my new baby niece. I'm not only freaking out about the trip and how fun it's going to be, but I do believe I'm freaking out harder about what I just discovered--a present on the dining room table from my uncle.

My birthday is in about 8-9 days, and all of my family got together for a party for 'me', when I do believe it was for all of us kiddos with summer birthdays, since there's a total of five out of seven that do.
Anywho, I was working so I couldn't make it. And I just noticed the present from my uncle on the table as I was petting my cat. So, I go ask dad if it's okay if I open it since my birthday isn't for another week. He says, "Whatever," so I open it, and it's an iPod Nano. A freaking iPod Nano. xD

I've never had anything this expensive given to me for my birthday. Granted, my uncle likes to get expensive things, then give them to me--like my PS2, Laptop, and almost car.

I'm having some fun figuring out how the hell it works, since I'm too much of a tard to know. xD

It's just amazing, though. I didn't know I was the favorite. >w<

So, I'm currently enrolled in a 2D Animation class, and our current assignments are to use note cards to make flipbook animations.
The first was just a basic bouncing ball across the page, making contact with a 'floor' at least twice.
The second is a bouncing ball ' perspectively ', meaning that we have to make it large and up close bouncing away and getting smaller or visa versa.
And the third was to start with a circle, turn it into something, then have it turn back into a circle without just doing a ' forward/backward ' animation loop.

Oddly enough, I'm having severe troubles with these assignments because I'm not good at the traditional 2D Animation style of drawing something, and flipping between that page the next to make the next drawing. ._.;

In conclusion: Flipbooks are weird.

So, I guess last Thursday, my mom went in for some Breast Cancer treatments. For those of you that actually read myjournal and didn't know, yes, she has breast cancer. Then on Tuesday, she went back in for more. She was supposed to do like 2-4 more tests, but when I arrived home, no one was there, and there were messages from two of the places she was supposed to go saying she missed them. At first, I was upset. I didn't know if she had just arbitrarily skipped them or not, because I had been gone all day for school, then went to my boyfriend's place, and no one thinks to call me.

A few minutes after I had listened to the answering machine, my brothers come home. They tell me nothing, of course. So, I was on the phone with Zach just freaking out in general, because I didn't know where my parents were, and no one was telling me. After I hang up from the call with him, one of Dad's work buddies calls to see if everything is all right, and of course, I tell him that I don't know anything, so all the info he was able to give me was, "Something went wrong with the first test, and she's at a different hospital now."

So, I go down stairs to ask what the hell is going on, to find my younger older brother on his cell phone yelling at his girlfriend, "You'll know when she knows!" I guess she's been pretty worried about my mom, too. I ask Jeff(the brother that was on his phone) what's up, and all he tells me is, "Mom and Dad have been at Creighton for the past 10 hours." That's all he'd say.

I immediately grab the phone and call Zach back, and just start bawling once he answers. I didn't know what was going on, and I was terrified. He offered me what he could for consolation, then we hang up again on the premise that I'd call him again if anything changed, or if I knew any of the details.

Dad comes home, and I ask him what happened. Apparently, for the first test, they were trying to get some sort of tube in mom's chest, and it didn't work on the left side, but when they tried it on the right, it went a little further than it was supposed to, and it punctured her lung, causing it to collapse slightly. No one at the first hospital had the qualifications or knowledge to make it stop, so the receptionists frantically called all of the hospitals in the available area, and they found an available doctor that knew how to fix the problem at Creighton University's medical center. So, they helicoptored her there, and had been there ever since. Before the bleeding stopped, she had about two quarts over her right side of the stomach. (I don't know what to call that group of muscles/organs/whatever.) And they had put her on a respirator.

I was freaking out hardcore, I tried to rest and whatnot, but I was up at least two times that I could remember during that span of about 7-8 hours.

Now, from what Dad has told me, she's fine and getting better. They're keeping her sedated and restrained so she doesn't take out any of the IV's, and they're planning on taking her off of the respirator in about four hours. I just want my mom home and safe.

So, in order to keep my sanity and prevent any future outbreaks of tears, I'll be pixelling and playing the new Phoenix Wright and reading Stardust to keep my mind away from any negatives that may bog down my thoughts. With that said, expect at least a good handful of deviations, since I'm swamped at my minishop on Roliana.

I've got my laptop finally! Vista > 98SE I don't care what you say. I'm hoping to do more pixels when I have the time. Right now drawing and Raster homework is plaguing me. Not to mention I need to type up and print a resume and cover letter by thursday WHILE moving in. ;^;
I just wanna curl up with my arts on my kitchen floor today and do the drawing homework. HOPEFULLY, Leah can get me photoshop, and hopefully a trial version of Corel Painter X lasts through the end of the quarter, so then all I really need is a tablet. :w
Wireless mouse FTW for pixel art, btw. I can do my work from my thigh! *o*

Last night, I come home and do all of my normal stuff, and my boyfriend calls me to let me know he made it home okay, and then when I'm off the phone and on my way upstairs, the argument starts. Y'know, the standard--but WORSE--moving out argument. So, when I was fed up with her behavior, I just screamed at her, "I'm SICK of having to argue with her to try and get it to sink in that I'm not completely abandoning you guys, and if you don't want a good relationship between us before I leave, then FUCK IT. I DON'T WANT ONE, EITHER." And I stormed off into my room with tears trailing down my cheeks.
When in my room, I plop onto my bed and immediately call my boyfriend and leave a message on his phone to call me as soon as he got it, which he did. I told him everything, and TWICE while we were talking, my mother dared to show her face into my doorway and keep the argument going, then when I was finally off of the phone, but still crying, she comes back just to say what I knew she had been holding back since I told her I was moving out--the word SLUT.
Yes. My very own mother who loves and spoils me called me a SLUT just because I'm barely, but still legally, an adult moving in with my boyfriend. BIG FUCKING DEAL. That doesn't make me a slut now, does it?! Dx

Then, to add to the frustration and depression, I find a note in my inbox from Leah(SalamanderSoup) titled "OH MY GOD PLEASE TELL ME YOU'RE ONLINE" with the one liner of "i've got some really bad news" within it.
What's the bad news prytell? Her brother STOLE two games from me that she was borrowing as well as her pink original GBA and SOLD them. YES. HE SOLD THEM. Why? To buy CIGARETTES.
So, after I talk to my boyfriend this afternoon, I go to the mall where I still have friends in GameStop and ask them to do a district search for the rarer of the two games(Frequency) and they find one at a store I know he goes to. So Jon gives them a call for me, and they find the transaction--Frequency, SSX Tricky, and a pink GBA.
Thankfully, my games are still in the store, and they can hold them aside, but since it was only about 45 minutes ago when they found out the items were stolen, the GBA is gone. And Leah's parents are making him buy them back. Even if he has to go to eBay and spend way more than I did to get them back.

I just don't know whether to scream, cry, or do both right now. I'm just upset in general and need some loving.

Today has been fun so far. xD
I locked my keys in my car... and my bag which had my wallet which had my spare. xD
It truly was only a matter of time before it did happen. So, mom was nice and bailed me out of that horrible situation.

Anywho, after class and whatnot, I came over to my boyfriend's dad's place(where he and I are right now), and he just tells me, "I hope you're hungry." Which, of course I was 'cause it was a four hour class with only one 10 minute break. I follow him into the kitchen, and he's making fanciful grilled cheese sammiches and fanciful tomato soup, and the "d'awww!" part of the thing was, is that's what I decided I wanted today about halfway on the way to class this morning. He's gotta be one of those sweetheart psychics. ;D

So yay for sammiches already being prepared when you come home!

So, yeah. Classes started this week. I'm taking Drawing and 2D Design 2, Raster Image Painting, and -shudder- Human Relations Skills. I'm starting to <3 Raster, 'cause not only is it a teacher I'm familiar with, but because it's teaching me how to use the programs I've always wanted to learn on a computer. Well, it's teaching me Corel Painter, which I'm sure will transfer easily over into Photoshop and whatnot. Hopefully I'll have some amazingness to post from my classwork. ;D
With Drawing 2, I only dislike it because SalamanderSoup told me to avoid a certain teacher, so when I registered, I did for a different teacher, but I still got the one I was trying to avoid. Also, she's demanding that we buy the specific products that she says we need to succeed in class, which is a total cost of MINIMUM $130. GHEY.

To add to the craziness, my uncle(to put it short, he bought a laptop, ex-fiancee took it when they broke up) finally got his laptop back, and it was supposed to be placed into my hands, since, y'know, it's a better investment to give it to his student relative than just let it gather dust and be a waste of money. So, when I arrive home from work, mom ushers me to a printer box and tells me to see if I can get the contents to work. Inside is the laptop. I was excited, but then when I tried to turn it on, before it attempted to load anything, it started doing that high pitched repetative beeping noise which signals something's wrong. I turn it right back off and start looking over the laptop. TWO keys are completely busted off. There may be more, but I just hadn't noticed... yet. Also, a serious WTF--there was CANDLEWAX on the right side of the keyboard. SRSLY. WTF. CANDLEWAX?! So, yeah. Tomorrow, I get to take it to Best Buy in hopes that they've still got records of it's purchase, 'cause there wasn't any manuals with it other than the one for the internets and the Vista disc. If not, I get to ask for an estimate to fix it. Hopefully it's not too much and can be fixed. If not, my uncle gets to have fun and figure out how to make his ex give him the money for a new one.

Oh, and Polysics or Die is full of win and awesome. I'm hoping to do some random drawings inspired by the music. <3 Thanks for lending me the CD, Salamander~!

It truly is sometimes. This journal is to pretty much say not to expect anything from be for a while--or atleast until I'm adjusted to what's going to be changing in my life.

Firstly, on September 4th, my classes are starting up again. I was retarded and decided to take Drawing II, Raster Image Painting, and Human Relations skills at the same time. It seems I might have a repeat of last semester's grades. ._.;;
On top of that, just because I still have enough free time even after requesting two days off to do homework, work is still going to push me into doing 30 hours, by making me do 5-hour closing shifts during the week, then pretty much live there on the weekends. I might have to ask them to only schedule me on Saturdays if they need me there on the weekend. I've already asked for Fridays to do homework, and Sundays are just retarded, 'cause they're only open from 11:00AM-7:00PM, so when you're scheduled a Sunday, you're there all day.
Lastly, the big point is that I'm moving out as of October 1st to my first apartment building with my boyfriend. His parents are cool with it, but I don't know about mine. They'll know today, if anything. But like one of the older ladies at work told me, "Well, if you're already approved and have scheduled a move-in date, there's really nothing she can do about it now. Especially if your name is on the lease." Also, I'm a legal adult by my state's standards, so she still really can't do a goddamn thing to control me anymore.
Also, with moving out, I won't have a computer of my own, so Iprobably won't be able to get online very often if I have to truck across the entire complex to get to the computers or drive 30 minutes to get to school. LAME.

Oh, and why only a thumbnail dump? I don't want to reveal the clothes completely yet. Especially since I've only got MSPaint, and making watermarks in there is bullshit.

What Almost Made Me Leave the Convention:
The line for the pre-registered people was moving slower than the non-registered because of &#039rinter problems.'
There was an annoying girl that was trying to SLEEP on the FLOOR while in line for badges.
The staffer that was in charge of the Dealer's Room for the first day was a MORON-- Misinformed the crowd about when the Sponsors were allowed into the dealer's room by making it seem like it was open to everyone. Then almost making us lose our spot in line a second time by saying that even small purses needed to be bag-checked. LAME.
I was almost in tears from sheer frustration at that point, and was even making the plan that if the dealer's room sucked, that we'd be going home right then and there after traveling four hours to get there.

Pixel Update:
As long as my partner in crime doesn't give me a design for what her administrative NPC looks like, and L is busy with work and whatnot, I'll be working on starting the wardrobes, and every so often, I'll post what I've got ready. DeviantArt will have the official previews to the forum items, but don't be too shocked if I watermark them. I don't want anyone starting an Avatar Creator, even though I shouldn't have to worry about that from the get-go since I haven't posted the base, and don't really intend to. xD

I've always kind of admired forums like Gaia from a distance after I heard about them. I loved the idea of having a customisable(with limits) avatar, and a pseudo-economy, but I don't join because the economy is probably too far along for the items I'd like.

Anyway, it's because of my like for such forums that I started planning one of my own. So far, it's just two of us, myself and a dear friend. Once I've got a good grip on some basic clothes for the avatars and have a few of the NPCs pixelled, we would snag a forum, and a domain and she would probably be little miss web design because I don't even know the first things about HTML.

So, I've got at least two more NPCs on my plate, and a basic wardrobe before we even start thinking about webdesign. I'm probably going to try snagging my friend, salamandersoup, to do the art for the NPCs in their shops and stuff, just because I'm sure it'd get way too boring just seeing their sprite bouncing around in the forums when they're needed.

Once we get started, and have the site up, I'd love people to join and give me feedback. Hell, depending on your skills with any form of this art, you may be taken on as staff to help out. xD

I'll keep updates posted, and don't worry, I won't post each individual clothing item as a deviation of it's own. It'll probably be more like a cluster after I've got about x-amount done. Hey, maybe I'll even lump some of them together on and off the base so you can see what they'd look like on the avatar.
