We've just finished doing (or trying to do) embryology. So, so interesting but I'm still confused. Luckily I'm not the only one (not by a long shot).
Already we've been dissecting rabbits, wrestling cows, milking the dairy herd, and I love it!
Although I do have rather a fine bruise which seems to get darker every day. I can thank the difficult teaching cow for that one.

Maybe tomorrow morning, but I doubt that I'll be on dA any time after that. So it looks like now is the time to say goodbye!
First off I would really like to apologise for people whose art I never managed to finish (remember commisioners, I'd be happy to refund anyone who hasn't been refunded). Promised uploads, like reference sheets and giftart. I'm afraid that's one of my biggest flaws, I make too many promises and then find that I can't get them done, and it breaks my heart sometimes.
I did make a journal a wee while ago asking people to post a comment if they still had art to get from me, but very few replied and those who did got their art requested.

However, far from focusing on the negative, it's FAR better to concentrate on the lovely friends I've met on dA and the good times we've shared. I feel like this is a very cheesy journal but it's how I feel. I would love to list you guys so that others recognise how much you mean to me, but I'm dreadfully afraid about forgetting someone. Not that it would be easy to forget any of you guys, but my brain still hasn't warmed up after the long holidays.

I had a goodbye picture in the works but I think this journal summarises what I'm thinking; that being part of the lovely dA community was a nice, fun part of my life and that I will never really forget it.
It's been about 3 years since I first joined, how crazy is that?

Now, as I've said to people, it may not be the utter and absolute death of my account.
I will still try to draw traditionally (in fact, I may make drawing a learning aid in the future - I'm a very visual learner for anyone who wants to know) and I will be using any characters that have not been adopted. I know at least one character who will always stay next to my heart.
I may very well be on during the holidays - during the summer at least - but as I've mentioned to some people, I do extra work experience during the uni holidays so that will be pretty difficult. I have to do 12 weeks of EMS over the course of 2 years (during the holidays, not uni time). Then after that I think I'm doing 26 weeks over 3 years so it only gets more hectic as time goes on.

So hopefully you understand why I'm making a big fuss. Obviously after uni things dA will not be an option really. So I'm having to say goodbye to people that I've known for 2-3 years and who are important to me.
I'm so glad that you all support me in what I'm going to do and I'll miss you all!

Anyway I'm just writing down a few thoughts because a) I am bored and b) I want to distract myself from packing.

1. I did an epic Ikea shop yesterday. Has anyone ever gotten lost in that place? Yes, I know there are arrows on the floor but sometimes that just isn't enough (especially when you don't pay attention to them). I know people who have gone in to get catalogues and gotten lost. :/ Now my front hall is full of the stuff I'm taking to uni. As my mum said, it's like kitting out another house!
2. I just read the synopsis for Professor Layton 2 on wikipedia and spoiled the ending for myself. AHH. That was silly... although I guess I won't be playing it until Christmas so I may have forgotten it by then.
3. OKAMI ON THE DS! Again, I won't get to play it, but it's nice that it's actually happened. It's called Okamiden for anyone who is interested.
4. I now have a printer (wireless) that actually works! Which is weird because I set it up myself. :/
5. I've just realised that for the first time ever I'll be meeting people from "the internet". Not from dA mind, but I have been talking to some future classmates.

.......Now I have to muster the will to start tidying my room. I actually found some schoolwork from 2 years ago on my desk! I'm worried that it was still there after all of that time.

EDIT: For anyone who is interested, I'm currently on case 3 of the 2nd Phoenix Wright game. I decided to play all of the cases in order before I left home. It's been more awesome than I remember.
I also tried to play the first case of the first game in French (still trying). Even though I can guess most of it, it's surprisingly tricky.

I got my grades today in the post. I'm so happy..

I'm ecstatic right now, seriously. I was hoping for BBBB as a best case scenario, maybe ABBA. I needed BBC to get into vet medicine, so yeah, I'm in! Finally.
I actually found out that my offer had been changed to unconditional before the postman got to my house. I was crying, tears actually pouring down my face. I got some weird looks from my family, who don't often see me cry (if ever).
I get a letter in about a week about my equipment list/book list and stuff. I'm living the dream and it feels wonderful!
So yeah, I really am leaving in September. Around September 12th to be precise. I thought that it would be closer towards the end of the month but no.
Sorry guys, but you must understand that I have to do this.

I still can't work my main computer properly, it's acting up (that's where my commissions, most trades and a load of other stuff is). So I'm probably going to have to cancel trades I haven't recieved a part from and the others will have to be done in Paint.net instead of Photoshop. But as for commissions, I can offer refunds as they weren't paid with real money.

I just finished 2 weeks of work experience at a vet practice (they were emergency vets so there were a few cats in with bad wounds and two dogs in who needed to be on drips). It was awesome! One of the dogs who needed an IV was a little pomeranian puppy called Todd, and he was absolutely adorable! I was seriously praying that he would get better, which he did (fortunately). He came in really dehydrated but the vets saved him and he went home.
Unfortunately he came in the next day and wasn't using his back legs so he was taken back to the breeder who sold him. Poor little fella.
But now my mum is obsessed with getting a puppy (preferably pomeranian) after seeing little Todd, so we're off to the Ingilston dog show at the end of August to meet with breeders and stuff.
So, we *might* be getting a puppy! So excited. 8D
Shame that I only have a month left at home after that (actually a bit less but anyway).

Exam results in 24 days! The moment of truth. <3

And I'm off to see Harry Potter on Thursday. Life is good. ^^

Oh yeah, I'm off to the abattoir for more work experience sometime in the next few weeks and I might be doing some poultry work or riding lessons as well, so I might be a bit of a dA ghost for a while.

As I mentioned in my last journal, exam leave has started for me! That means a lot of studying (*cough* cramming) for my exams. But afterwards I get to go on a school trip to France, woohoo!

I'm excited because I haven't left the country for a few years. Plus I haven't been to France since I was 5. ^^ Lovely place, so excited.
Apparently we're going caving though. That sounds a bit like potholing.....anyone really know what it involves?
I can't imagine I'd be any good at squeezing through dark holes in a cave, I'd probably freak out.

But we're going canoeing and stuff as well. I love that sort of thing. <3

Just thought I would have a ramble as an excuse to upload a new journal.
And for anyone who is wondering, I haven't gotten over my rat that quickly, I just didn't want such a sad journal staring people in the face if they visited my page.

Thank you for the kind words. I feel kind of bad for making such a huge fuss about him, but as you can tell he was very important to me (even though I only had him for just over a year).

You were a beautiful friend and always will be.

One of my rats died today.. It was so sudden, the vet told me he might have had a embolus eroding near a pulmonary artery or a tumour. Yesterday he was fine, today he was bleeding from the nose and was incredibly weak. I hate it when animals no longer put up a fight, when they go so limp and still. The little guy is still in my room, waiting for a burial.
Sorry if this sounds ridiculous, but I was very close to him.
I love rats, they are wonderful pets. It breaks my heart that they have such short lives (he wasn't even 2 years old).



Exam leave started today as well. I was so happy to leave school yesterday, now I'm heartbroken. It's annoying because people always tell me to be more detatched from my animals, as "practice" for maybe having to euthanise animals in the future. I understand where they're coming from, but now I feel foolish for crying over my own pet.

Gah, so depressed.

I just needed to vent, sorry...

Anyway here's a brief summary of life at the moment:-

I'm...

- Preparing for a Yearbook Show (the clue is in the name, we're raising funds for our school yearbook and a charity at the same time). Lots of Abba songs, sketches and dancing really.
- Involved in a programme which means I have to mentor people doing their Duke of Edinburgh's Awards. Well, when I say "people" I mean little 3rd years who don't really care what I have to say, but are forced to come to my meetings every 2 weeks. Hahaha. xD
- Stressed OUT! I only have one free period a week and all I can do is sleep. That's what I get for taking more subjects than anyone else.

...Blahblahblah.

Still doing work experience at my wildlife center and having a ball. They've got a few falcons and owls in just now. The seal pups are getting bigger so they're in an outdoor tank. All of the fox cubs have been released and we're releasing hedgehogs/getting loads in at the same time. Loveitloveitloveit.

And...

I GOT TWO INTERVIEWS FOR VET SCHOOL!
Teehee, I'm so excited. But nervous.
I had a mock interview today and sort of messed up on things because I misunderstood what types of questions were going to be asked. But now that I know what to expect, hopefully I'll be fine in my real interviews.
Guys, I'm halfway there! I'm so happy.
Out of 1000 people who applied to both Glasgow and Edinburgh vet schools (where I'm having interviews), only 200 are interviewed. And there are 72 places. So.... if my maths is correct, I have an over 30% chance of getting an offer. ^^
I really hope I do...
Wish me luck, eh?

As you can see though, life has been uber-busy. Which explains why I'm barely on dA nowadays.
Once I've done my interviews though, it'll be Christmas time and I'll be nice and relaxed.
Then there shall be art of sorts. <3

Well.........I got two baby rats! They're so sweet, and they're both brothers like my previous two rats. I almost started crying when I saw them, one of them looks like my old rat Willow, who died (the new one has almost the exact same markings and colours).

And isn't it sweet? It also ties in with the fact that it's Chinese New Year tomorrow, and it's the Year of the Rat. :3
Cute huh?

Ahh, this has been one awesome week.

In other news, I've realised how nosy the people at my school are. I got an email on a school computer about a work experience placement at a veterinary surgery, and I was replying back.. And there were loads of 1st years peering at the screen, as if it were their business. xD *shoos them away*
Blast it, I can't help feeling irritated when people act like that.


Lol, we're having a 'Wii Bowling Challenge' at our school right now. It's pretty darn funny seeing our teachers playing Wii sports every lunchtime... and winning. xP

My mouse and my keyboard have decided to go haywire just when I have to make Christmas presents and finish things!
My mouse has completely stopped working, and my keyboard works sometimes (like right now). So I'm afraid I can't finish my art until it starts working again.
But I'm not entirely sure what caused it- I mean, when my mouse does work for a minute or so, it makes a strange beeping noise and hen freezes again. Has this ever happened to anybody? If anyone knows anything about computers, I would appreciate a helpful comment or two lol. xD
Hopefully I can get a new mouse soon, but it might be after Christmas (which is what I'm afraid of, I have a Secret Santa to take part in).
Lol, I have a tablet as well, but it's malfunctioned as well.

*shrugs* What on earth???

Ah well, I'm glad I got the chance to tell you guys. My keyboard has decided to work for a wee while (and I can use the 'Tab' key to navigate instead of a mouse), but no doubt it'll die next time I switch on the computer.

Although today was awful in terms of school, it's nice to think that we only have 15 days left until the holidays!
Yay, me and all of the girls in my year (who can make it) are going to a carnival, then ice-skating en masse and maybe we'll go to an iMAX show, or whatever it's called, during the holidays. Whatever we're doing, I can't wait!

I actually have quite a lot of stuff I'm working on at the moment, it's coming along. Ya see, there was a phase where I deleted quite a few WIPS and near-finished pics I had, because I thought they were awful.
That's really the main reason why I'm taking so long with your things, but the other is because I'm so unbelievably SLOWWW. xD

WHEE, less than two weeks until we're performing 'Calamity Jane' for our school! Lmao, one of the guys has to dress like a woman. x)

Ugh, I've just had so many tests this week. And I now have a few essays and important/difficult tests to revise for next week. I feel like I'm drowning under it all, however depressing that may sound.
In short, school is sucky, although I'm enjoying choir/Calamity Jane rehearsals and the fact that I'm not doing absolutely abysmally at least.
Hehee, I was working at a cattery this morning. It was only for a few hours, because I'm too young to work there for wages. But YAY.
At the end the owner gave me £15, even though I was supposed to be working for free. 8D I'm so chuffed about that. ^^
Although I was less than pleased at one of the conversations I had there. I REALLY want to be a vet, you see. And I kept hearing the same thing over and over again. 'You have to be the best of the best.' 'It's so difficult to get into these universities.' 'You have to be PERFECT in everything academic if you even want to THINK about applying.' Oh, and someone suggested that I start doing physics again at school.
Four words.
Not. going. to. happen.


Bah, anyway.
Lol I bet you quite a few people out there (i.e all of you) didn't know I wanted to be a vet. xP Well well, you learn something new everyday.

Oh, and another thing.
I'm at a serious low right now with my art. I mean, I'm terribly fussy and keep restarting everything. Like, if a leg looks weird or the face is anatomically incorrect or something, I'll restart the whole picture. >< I'm sort of ashamed to admit it, but that's the way it is right now.
Maybe it's the stress? Ah, wishful thinking on my part.
I feel terrible about taking so long. I KNOW this is the 3-billionth time I've said it, but I really feel guilty for the delay in your pictures.

On the other hand, there is a shorter story about griffins that I'd really like to illustrate. I'm much more confident with drawing griffins, strangely, so it would probably be doable.

I'M SO HAPPY! They've announced that Okami is coming out on the Wii.

I wasn't allowed to get a PS2, but I got a Wii on my 15th birthday back in February. So now I can play it, finally! Well.. in 2008 I can.

Today is a day of work, I'm trying to complete all of these pictures that I owe. *scribbles frantically*
I'm such a bloomin' perfectionist, I'm constantly restarting and redoing/retouching all the pictures I'm working on.


I'm making a set of three free bookmarks for you guys, which you can print out if you desperately want. They're of mythical creatures, two of which are personal favourites of mine and one which I need a bit of practice on. Does that make any sense? Pshaw, probably not.
Well, I've nearly finished the first one and I have the lineart for the second. I'll get them done in time for Christmas at least lol!

Fwee, so happy right now. Just before we broke up for the hols (that was on the 12th), I found out that I passed a Chemistry NAB (which you need to pass in order to take the final chemistry higher exam) and an English Personal Study (something you also have to pass every year to take the final exam). And I never have to do another personal study again! This is my last year of english, it's not compulsory next year so I'm dropping it as soon as I can.

In other news, I got The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass for the Nintendo DS. It's quite good actually; at first I didn't really like the style of graphics and I wasn't really engrossed in the story, but I quite like it now. I've just finished the Fire Temple and have beaten the first boss-type thing.

This may have sounded like a rather self-centered, boring journal, but I wanted to let you guys know that things are going well and I'm still working on your pics. ^_^

To be honest, although I'm able to cope with the work, I wasn't expecting there to be such an increase of it in the first weeks of school. So I'm uber-busy, with much less time for art.
Oh, and plus: I'm involved in a lot of things after school now (whereas I wasn't so active before). I have rehearsals for a play, choirs, volunteer work: that sort of thing. So that cuts my internet time down even more.

So, once I've finished all of my commissions and other things (I'll desperately try to finish my giftart as well), you might not see too much of me until Christmas. I'll keep working on my art though, so next time I upload you might see some effort/improvement. Perhaps it's just wishful thinking on my behalf though. x)

Eep, back to school on Wednesday! My school was evil and gave us english homework, etc, over the holidays, so I'll be working right up until the last night. ;_; However, I haven't seen my friends all summer (they've been away or at parties that I refuse to go to, on account of all the alcohol lol xP I tend to stay away from any parties where all people do is drink. And, unfortunately, thats' what people in my year like to do. Ah well, c'est la vie.). So it'll be good to see them all again! 8D
And on an even better note, I've finally been allowed to order something from Amazon lol! Never before has my mum trusted these sort of sites, but now I've been able to order Volume 1 of the Wolf's Rain episodes. ^___^ Oh, and a Studio Ghibli film.. the first part of which I can't spell. It's something like Nau------, Valley of the Wind. Looks good! Can't wait to see it.

1. One of the first drawings I can remember doing is of a knight on a horse... jousting. xDD
2. I literally squeal when I see a fox in the field opposite my house, I love them so much! Especially when they jump through the long grass.

I've decided to do the 20 emotion challenge (credit goes to Wolfdog). I'm making 4 'mood sheets', each with 5 headshots of a specific character who is displaying different emotions. I'm planning to do one mood sheet of Rodolphus, one of Rouka, and the same for Zenikarv, Tsua and Carlei. I'm not sure if wolves are allowed though, so in that case, I shall do mood sheets of-

-Rodolphus
-Peploe (another griffin character)
-Tsua
-My version of the Dillerry (I'm not entering into my own contest, but I made up my own version for fun. So basically it doesn't count towards anything, it's just a fun, unique little character).
-Chira, my persona.

I think I was just imagining things, it may have been another challenge where wolves or other common character species were not allowed. So yeah, I might be doing a mood sheet of Rouka/Zenikarv or Rouka/Solpik. Don't know who Solpik is? Well, I'm not surprised because his only picture is in my scraps. xP

2nd place = Your markings can be used on the infant version of the species, and you may also recieve a headshot of your creation from me!

HOLIDDAAYYYS. I'm not going anywhere (well, maybe Alton Towers or London for a day), but I'm SOHAPPY. <33333333

Yup, I was right about everything concerning Prizegiving. EVERYONE in the row behind me was crying when a particular song (Highland Cathedral, made me feel very patriotic xP) came on, so I burst into tears as well. Plus the Head Girl started crying in the middle of her speech. Gah, so emotional! Then, afterwards, I saw my group of friends who were leaving, and then I started crying/hysterically laughing then. Aw man, that was such a blur.
Although, the party afterwards was fuun.
OHOH. I eventually ended up making up my own superhero. No-one else made any effort, and most turned up in normal party clothes. However, I turned up as 'Random Girl', with a big 'R' drawn on my top to let people know. And I got the coolest rainbow eyemask thing. <33
Anyway, 'twas fun. Although, I was one of only a few people who bothered to dance. Most people kept popping outside to go to the shops (or so they said). xP

Yes, I know the idea isn't very good, but still, I'm sure some of you might have fun having a go at it (hopefully)

Anyways, just saying thanks again for waiting guys. I seriously don't know where you get your patience from And I'm nearly finished with quite a few kiriban pics/trades and stoof, so you won't have to wait much longer I'll have you know
And yup, exams are finished.
I've already gotten back most of my marks; they're alright- 4 top grades and 2 subjects (history and art) where I got a 2 and a 1/2. Lmao, I'm so slow; they put me down a grade just because I didn't finish -_-
NOTE: Wicker baskets are plain evil to paint. Well, for me it was anyways :/
And I only missed getting a grade 1 in history by 3 marks. -frustrated- Ah wells, as long as I don't make the same mistakes next time, apparently I'll do well in ma Standard Grades
Geez, I should really stop talking about school. When I started writing this, I was annoyed because there are so many super geniuses who are good at EVERYTHING, seriously.....and then theres' me. Ya know, its' like whatever you're best at, they can beat it. It kinda sucks -__-

I did my work shadowing today Although, I'm not quite finished because I'm going back tomorrow. I have to say, I assumed that going to a hospital would be at least a little interesting, but me and another girl there just stood there for hours, doing absolutely nothing and getting spoken to by no-one. Yup, its' understandable since they really don't have the time for us, but......it was a bit mind-numbing; I really don't want to go back there. But I'll be optimistic; maybe they'll pay some attention to us tomorrow.
Lmao, we took a 3-hour lunch break and no-one even noticed we were gone!

Although history/maths were evil, I'm slightly (but only very slightly) worried about how I've done :/
Ah, I'm hoping it was just a lack of confidence afterwards that makes me say this x)
Anyways, I only have to survive until Wednesday and I'll have made it, so yay! (I get a day off on Tuesday, so technically I only go in for one and a half days -chemistry only lasts for a half day )

I get annoyed by the slightest little jokes they pull on me, and it can get quite worrying.
I guess, as I said, I need to escape.
Ah, and plus we had a deeply moving Rememberance cermony this morning. Some horrible, ignorant little children (when I say 'little,' I mean about 3 years younger than me actually but ah well) were LAUGHING. Yes, during all of the reflection on our Battlefields experience, they were laughing at what we had been through. I SERIOUSLY wanted to punch them, I really did. And then, because I cried during a song, they looked at me like I was a weirdo. They did that to all my friends too; the ones that had been on the Battlefields experience with me ;_; Grr, I hate people who can't just respect how other people react to these things.
But at least after my exams I'll be able to relax for a short while
Anyways, I've cheered up since then (just had to explain what it was in the first place) because I'm trying to be optimistic and I have two weeks to get the exams over and done with. Basically, I'm trying to think about what life will be like after they're finished ^__^
Ooh, plus I got Pokemon Mystery Dungeon randomly from my mum. Niice
Anything that you're waiting for is on its way; I really shouldn't attempt everything at the same time hm? Ah, they'll be finished soon anyways

Just a quick 'Happy Halloween' to all my friends out there ^^ You guys are the best, couldn't have wished for anything better. And I thank you again for having so much patience with me
Anyways, I was thinking of doing some Halloween art, but it is a bit late. Meh, you guys won't mind if I post some a few days late hm? You're already used to me being late with stuff, I'm assuming xD
I'm thinking of doing a pic of one of the 'Searchers.' They are basically spectral wolves from a book I'm re-reading (thanks ) called 'The Sight.' It is amazing, I recommend it to ya

I have to say, it was one of the most moving trips I have ever been on. I couldn't fit everything I felt into seven journals ^^
I have to admit, I cried a few times, especially when our own school were watched by complete strangers as a few of my friends led us through the streets to the sound of the bagpipes. We visited many cemeteries and heard so many stories, it was hard not to cry about it. Also, we had to name an unknown soldier. That part was so emotional, it was a struggle to keep the tears back.
Well, there are going to be some pictures uploaded, no matter how bad they are.
It will always remain with me, that experience. I hope you guys get the chance to do what I have done, I highly recommend it. It gives you new views on life; it is very special to me.
Plus, I bonded with people that I had never talked to (really) before

I'm glad they made two more eeveelutions, the somewhat blurry pic of the Ice type one looks adorable anyway Woot! But, there are too many straaange ones that kinda freak me out in a way, and loadsa evolutions of pokes that were fine the way they were. Like Aipom, I mean wtf? It doesn't really change a lot when it evolves xD But the murkrow evo looks cool, as do most of the other new pokemon
-I cant believe the Lapras pre-evos though *shudders* its' fine the way it is-

The fact that they made us do so many seemingly pointless and strange excercises confused me to the point where I just sat there in a half-coma xD Like, we were supposed to write as many backwards 'S's as we could in 5 seconds. What is up with that.......? Haha, they ended up looking like 2s. Plus I am really bad with logical thinking in general, so the people who actually read these tests are going to think that I am really slow or something
