Looks like we are in for a White Snowy Christmas here in Utah. We have had a light downfall here today. It really makes it feel like Christmas now. I am headed on the road Tommorrow to California, my husband and I and the kids, straight through run of elleven hours. Its a bit like a time warp because we lose an hour in time, if you consider it from our end. In Utah we are on Mountain Time and California Pacific Time:confused::boogie: Anyway, I want to wish everyone in the USA, 'Happy Thanksgiving!" And for everyone around the world I would like our day to represent to you a time to reflect and be thankful for all the blessings sometimes we take for granted. Hi Guys!:heart:
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and I wish everyone a wonderful week ahead. With this glorious Spring like weather while it lasts. And also thankyou for all the Birthday wishes for my daughter. Greatly apprecaited. Also with such a busy weekend I have a had I have returned to alot of messages and devaitions. I am slowly working my way throught them now. Thankyou also so much for your support and patience.:iconsomehugsplz::iconroseplz::heart:

At the present moment my husband is 'Reaching New Heights of Endevour", he has hired a boom and is chopping down non flowering six foot Cottonwood trees, that are prolific here, more like a weed tree. Really bad also if you have allergies. All this for so we can plant some fruit trees before the snows eventually arrive. It is kind of a scary endevour cutting trees down have to cut the branchs the right way and hope you can avoid any thing down below, ie"Neighbours deck" :iconpumpkinplz::iconturkeyplz:


The weekend went incredibly fast, I guess that happens when your really busy. We headed on out to my daughters fiancess parents cabin, about an hour away to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday.(Have some great photos of the beautiful surrounding scenery.) Eventho, she is my step daughter and I have only been apart of her life for three years, I have been incredibly blessed. She introduced me to DA and has shared with me so many wonderful memories of road trips and her art and I am so looking forward to Channies up and coming marriage next year. She has met the most wonderful, respectful, decent kind man and my husband and I ahave been truely blessed. His parents are also absolutely wonderful people. So all round we have been very blessed. My daughter is not around much these days and it has left a huge space. It is a different feeling being a step-mum but it is very similar as if you where the real mum if that makes sense. I have been blessed with five awesome kids. I think that is my word for this morning is blessed. Some times in life we get so busy and we can forget to count our many blessings. I guess I am counting all mine this morning.:rose::sun:

I have a busy weekend ahead, it is my Step- Daughters 21st Birthday on Saturday:party: Channy :iconlemon-oh::love: So make sure you go to her page and wish her 'Happy Birthday!":party: :iconsomehugsplz::iconroseplz::heart:

Also, have you ever seen in your life a small, seemly easy home project turn extra large over night? What do I mean? Well it started like this Hubby was given by a friend some free vegetables, a couple dozen beets, which I bolied and froze. First time doing it and cucumbers assortment of chillies, and bell peppers. Now he wants a garden, I have always wanted a garden also. So after much contemplation of the backyard hubby realised that some trees, one which was dead had to come down. So now one has gone from the front yard and at least three more have to go from the backyard. But here is the expensive and interesting part, hubby needs to hire a boom and a truck to take down the trees because they are so large. However, they will be replaced by a Apple tree, which is now in the front yard and a Pear, Cherry and Peach and after all that....some time in the near future there is talk of a vegetable garden. It will all be wonderful in the end just at the moment it is a lot of work and the trees need to be in at least before the end of November. Plus, there is the forever job of raking the leafs. I already broke one rake:):)

"Would you believe it is November already!" This year to me has gone incredibly quick. The stores now are getting all prepared for the upcoming Christmas Season and also Thanksgiving. Time to stack out an extra large Turkey. I have never eaten so much Turkey since I have come to America! Along with Pumpkin:iconpumpkin: Anyway, I have a real busy month coming up. On the 15th November is my eldest step- daughters birthday :iconlemon-oh: Channy turns 21yrs, so make sure you go to her site and wish her "Happy Birthday":party: We are going to celebrate it in the wilds of Utah, in a real log cabin, two hours drive but should be good. Then Thanksgiving all my Crew are heaed to California to spend Thanksgiving with Family. This will be my first American Family Thanksgiving. I have only seen that on tv in Australia, and I am certain it is not the same. We usually have a quite one here, with hubby and the kids. My husband makes the best ' Pumpkin Delight Desert" I am really looking forward to that. Nothing beats in this cold weather Roast Turkey, yams, mash spud and gravy. As you can tell I am looking forward to Thanksgiving Dinner."What are your Traditions for Thanksgiving?":iconturkeyplz:

Also, have to soon think about resurrecting the Christmas tree from its darkened cupboard, plus all the decorations. They say you can tell alot about a person and how they handle tangled Christmas lights:giggle: Tommorrow they predict snow, so it is certain it will be a White Christmas. We usually visit friends around this time. In Australia it is a Summer Christmas, and we are slowly moving away from the Traditional English Christmas dinner, which is roast chicken, potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, stuffing, gravy. Cooking this in 110f is not fun, while you swat flies. I loved however, how in Australia we set a Christmas table with bon-bons, a specail christmas table cloth, and Christmas decorations and leave a plate for Santa with a bit of food and glass of something to drink and lollies on plates for the kids in the morning. Its diffrent in America, where I have olny experienced cold cuts, nibbles and drinks. I heard some here in America have a big Christmas dinner and something similar to Australia, minus, the Bon-bons. Well Friday is Halloween and I have two huge bags of Candy sitting in my closet, too save temptations going astray, not the Teenagers, mum! I will behave myselve. Halloween is still relatively new to me. So I love the little children coming to the door in their costumes. So adorable!:heart::pumpkin:

Well not much news here. Hubby will be planting fruit trees soon. A Peach, Pear and Apple, first have to take down some really large trees! Lots of fun and maybe not.

Just arrived back yesterday with our second car from California. It was not bad for the price $0, it is thirty years old, a red Audi and it is a big like a nostaligic trip from the past driving it. With its handles to wind down the windows, and push buttons too unlock and relock the doors and the vinyl seats and no air-conditioning....."Yep, you wind down the windows, for that wind blown hair look" and did I mention the sunroof is just a metal plate that has a wind handle also. The only mod-con is that it has a new CD player that looks kind of strange against the carpet trim doors. My sister-in-law gave us the vechile because it use to be her husbands, mums and now she is gone it was just sitting outside her house gathering dust, so she thought we could do with an extra car with a house full of teenagers soon to be learning to drive, plus a second vechile always comes in handy. As we drove it away form my sister-in-laws place the fanbelt started sqeualing much too our embarrassment, my sister-in-laws area where she lives in is quite affluentical, BMW, high market realestate area and heres us making a hell of a racket pulling away. I said too my husband they must think we are hoodlums.

We spent the most of the weekend in California catching up with friends and family, stopped at Mesquite for the night and headed home Sunday, all up 17hours drive to get home. On the way I took some desert scenery photos and in California and some of the Tall Ships in Redondo we went out and saw. All up it was a great weekend, full of adventure.

Now we are considering would it be worth it too give this old Audi a paint job, it has bit of rust, hubby was thinking of taking it some Bodywork students at the local Technical College, too see if they would like to paint it and fix the rust, we would contribute money for it. On the road value the car is only worth $500. However, suprisely it has some get up and go. We discovered you cannot push it pass 80miles because it redlines, or overheats.

I looked out of window this morning to witness the first snow in Utah. It is so incredible beautiful, the leaves on the trees have not fully changed to their Fall colours, so it is like you have deep green leaves covered in white snow. I took a couple of photos. It is only a dusting of snow and it will not stick. Soon as the sun comes up it will melt away quick. I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

Second, I hope everyone had a great Labour Day weekend. I headed to the Wastach State Forest and took some great photos, before the snow hit the area today. However, my mind, like alot of people in America and the worlds went out to the people of New Orleans. With Hurricane Katrina still fresh in the minds of the people of New Orleans. Hurricane Gustav fortunately was just a glancing blow and for the Big Easy a sigh of relief. To keep you uptodate a weakened Hurricane Gustav blew into southern Lousiana Monday morning as a fearsome Catergory 2 storm, bearing 110mile-per hour winds that cracked tree branches, knocked out power to a million homes and triggered localized flooding, but apparently spared the levee system. As the storms spin there way inland later Monday, dumping heavy rains over Central Louisana on its way into Texas, officails cautioned that the storm surges could still buffet the New Orleans region into Tuesday, putting stress on fragile flood defences that have still not been fully repaired since their destruction during Hurricane Katrina.

But with every passing hour, as the winds subside and the clouds thinned, New Orleans seem to be in the clear.

I just feel more at home with farmland, wide open plains and the bush.

I hope your week is going superbly and that you all had a great weekend.

I had a ball at the 'Home Show', there was so much neat stuff and not near enough funds to pay for any of it. However, I have it all on my wish list. I would like an 'Intelli Bed', with the gel mattress, that vibrates and has remote control to move the bed in what shape you like. I want a "Zap" electric car, that charges up over night on electricity and is good enough to do thirty miles around town, a Silverstone cookware range, new installation in the ceiling and.... That will keep me happy for now:boogie:


At the moment I am job hunting and up to my ears in writing cover letters, resume's. essays and job interviews. I am an Early Childhood Teacher by trade and as you know a new year has begun in the USA. So I searching for appropraite positions. So this will make me a bit slow on getting back to your Deviantions and messages, so please forgive me:hug::heart:

'Guess what I stumbled on?" A major movie set out at Antelope Island, Utah. They are filming the new "National Lampoon" movie. My husband drove me out to Antelope Island, to have one last look for my camera case which we did not find. All of a sudden we saw this movieset and my husband said,"Look over there Indians!" "It must be a Western movie!" He was wrong, it actually was the headdress of a Centurion Soldier. 'What the?" I thought. So we went to the Vistors Centre there and they told us they will be filming there for a week. I managed to capture a couple of movie set photos which I will download.:wow::boogie:


Also, if you have not heard by now the discovery of "Bigfoot" in Texas, here is the latest update[link] will do anything to sell T-shirts! If was fifty years ago when we did not have the technology or DNA capabilities to determine critters, they would of had us but not now days.'Has anyone out on DevaintArt ever seen any strange things. :alien:

My question today is "Can Disney steal someone elses character and get away with it?" I mean being an artist myselve I realise how much time and energy it takes to breath life into a an artistic piece, photographic, pencil or otherwise. And to have a major corporate thug come along and nick it and not even mention that they are going to take your character, leaves me personally sickened. I am talking about :iconkingmukatan: After, you read the Journal entry tell me what you think. "Should we boycott the new 'Tinkerbell movie'?" I will keep you posted once I hear future developments.




'Wow!" :wow: Moving on to the Olympics......'What about Micheal Phelps!" Human Dymo!:winner: The US last I heard was barreling ahead in the Medal tally and Australia, so small in comparision is right behind the US. I love watching peoples personal achievements, too conquer within themselves personal barriers and limits, to strive for the ultimate achievements.:winner:




I would like to announce the sad loss of my camera cover or case last night somewhere out on my Island, proudly being chewed by a buffalo/bison right at this present. It was a true friend, it covered my camera all over Australia :iconaustralia: and most parts of the lower 48 of the USA :iconamerican: Now I have to get another. So dumb how you get attached to things:giggle:

Well it is late Summer and the season is starting to wind down. The kids go back to school August 25th here in Utah, and they are so excited, but I will not say that too them, I might get the opposite reaction. I have one daughter going into Year 9 this year and one son going into Year 12 his final year. Certainly time flies.

I have had an awesome Summer this year with going to Australia, then California. Alot of beach days as you can tell from my photos and lot tourist exploring in Australia.

Now to get a new year under way as they say here in the US. So far been to the County Show, Lagoon our Funpark, part from that not much else happening this neck of the woods.

Well I am back home now after Summer Vacation. Time to recoup and start thinking about next years Summer Vacation and to save for it. Also, eventually get back to work.

On Thursday it will be Pioneer Day an offical state holiday celebrated every July 24th in the state of Utah. Some US states celebrate in surrounding regions that where settled by Morman Pioneers. It commerates the entry of Brigham Young and the first group of Morman Pioneers into the Salt Lake Valley on July 24th, 1847, where the Latter-day saints settled after being forced from Nauvo, Illinios and other locations in the eastern United States. Parades, fireworks, rodeos, and other festivities help commerate the event. There are fireworks in Salt Lake City, peopler have BBQ'S and there is a parade, "Days of 47 Parade"> According to the "Days of 47 inc". This trek of the early Utah pioneers exemplifies courage, foresight and faith that continue to inspire the modern pioneers.:iconsa-patriot:

Eventho, my family and I are'nt Morman, we like the fireworks and look forward to each year purchasing fireworks with amazing light shows. This year we purchased a huge firework called a 'Cosmic Creation" and a "TNT- 6pack" that has the fireworks called,"Frenzied Fireflies" 'Demon Blaster" Poppin Peppers" 'Ray of Light" "Diablo Rojo" and "Dust Devils". Secretly, I cannot wait to set lose the "Cosmic Creation"......."Let her Rip!!!" Lots of fun.:boogie:

Well I am back on track now and have caught up with all my devaitions and replies. Thankyou for being so patience.:wow:

In three days my Summer Vacation in California ends for a nother year Then my family and I have to turn the car around and head back home to Utah and face reality.:fear: Had such an awesome time!:boogie: Sun baked, boogie boarded, hiked, explored, rode a ferris wheel, visited friends, hugged a Redwood, amongst heaps of other great stuff. The wonderful thing about holidays is that you can escape reality for awhile, get rid of stress and just bliss bomb staring at clouds if you so wish. I have been very priveleged to be able to spend time in California because of my mum/mom having accomadation. My mother-in-law is the greatest women on earth 81 years, working, gardening, cooking and kind patient, just awesome. Will dearly miss leaving her, until next year we will do it again.

Bills are waiting,:fear: have to find work until the new school year starts. But it will be nice to have my own bed back. For the rest of the year there is my both my daughters birthdays,:party: Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Then around that time it will snow once again.

For now cram in one more beach day:sun: and say our good-byes :(:(

JUst a quick entry.Firstly I would like to thank all my frineds for their support and wonderful comments. At present I am inadated with Devaitions to browse through and comments to reply too. I will get to these, just have not been spending to much time at the computer as late.......been looking at more waves.....But I promise to get to them.

And..........below is my last Journal comment so I thought I would leave that there this time round, so those who do not know what I am up, Know........

From Sunny :sun: California. I am currently on Summer Vacation, and we have been having the most spectacular time, and beautiful sunny days. California at present is in the grip of a Wildfire epidemic, so far there is 1400 Wildfires in California, burning out of control and only 2% contained. There is talk of letting some of the fires burn there way out. On the way to Los Angeles along the Pacific Northwest coast road, home of the Gaint Redwoods, we where turned back by interstate police before we reached Big Sur. Being only one way down the highway meant that we had to back track up the highway for one hour to Monteray to reach the inland 101 Highway, because Big Sur had gone up in flames. It was terrible feeling knowing that such beauty was being descimated by fire. It was also funny watching as we returned up the highway watching the cars go pass in the direction we came knowing forewell they where also going to be turned back eventually. So far to date the fires are still burning. I guess a part of Summer.

So far we have squeezed in a couple of wonderful beach days, saw the most amazing cemetry called Forest Lawn, that has the most spectacular, stained glass windows depicting beautiful bibical scenes, also the grounds are superb with its most amazing marble statues. I guess you would say an interesting place to visit, but you will be amazed at its beauty. Also, we went to Santa Monica Pier and tried out their new Ferris Wheel that gave the most spectacular aerial views of Santa Monica.

I have still plenty of more vacation days left and who knows what we will get up to...

Also, we went to Santa Monica Pier and tried out their new Ferris Wheel that gave the most spectacular aerial views of Santa Monica.

Well Summer is poking its head around the corner June 21st and the weather is heating up. Time too put on the sunscreen and hat. Also, for some time to head off for Summer Vacation, next week I am headed with the family to California, to spend a couple of weeks with family and friends. It always nice to get away from it all and catch up with loved ones. Time too BBQ, eat icecream and warm up from the very long cold Winter.

Hi Guys!

Well I am back from DownUnder as people call it or commonly known as Australia.I still have terrible jetlag from the sixteen hour time difference. Going back and forth from the USA to Australia, and Australia to the USA, is truely like beening in a episode of the 'Twillight Zone". Because you gain a day travelling from the USA to Australia and lose a day going from Australia to the USA. So I usually ask my family in Australia how tommorrow is and if I could have the lotto numbers and I tell them how yesterday was, if that is not a mind twist up in itselve. It is truely amazing considering how many timezones we have around the world and how completely bamboozled anyone would be travelling all corners of the globe. I have done so much travelling that I honestly do not have a cure for jetlag, except time. Just bizarre wanting breakfast at midnight, sometimes the urge is overwhelming and you tummy grumbles so you just have to fight it.

Well I have some adventures to tell. For my husband it was his first trip overseas and outside of the USA. So I became an ambassitor of tourism of the OZ for two weeks and tried to squeeze in as much culture as I possibly could. First leg we landed in Brisbane and afetr a day and a halve without sleep, we boarded a train to Roma street bus depot for a coach to Toowoomba to see my dad. Dad was too sick too pick us up at the depot so we flagged a taxi to our motel. That then was my first lesson in cultural differences, had to tell my hubby not to tip the taxi driver. My husband was beside himselve when he could'nt, he thought he was beening rude. I had to tell him that wages in Australia are higher than that of the USA, so there is no need to tip in most circumstances, unless someone delivers superb service. We spent most of our time in Queensland with dad and hubby got to see our amazing birdlife, Galahs, Eatern Rosellas, Top Notch Pigeons and Ibis's. Then the week flew and we where back on a red eye plane to Sydney, New South Wales.

There we spent time with my little sister, hubby, niece and nephew. This is where the real adventures began! I walked him throught the Royal Botanical Gardens, where he got to interact with a dozen Sulphur Crested Cockatoos. Saw the Harbour Bridge, Sydney Opera House, walked up to the Rocks, an old historical settlement back of the harbour and had lunch in the oldest pub in Sydney, 'The Fortune of War", hubby got to try his first Aussie hamburger with beetroot and then we walked throught the Rocks and hubby brought himselve a Digeredoo for his birthday. Still learning to play it, much to everyones amusement. You can imagine the sounds:):) We went on amazing bus trip to the Blue Mountains where we hiked over a thousand steps thorught the most spectacular, scenic rainforest, eventho we where throught dredged in the down pouring rain it was truely the most amazing experience. Also on the bus trip hubby got to see Eastern Grey Kangaroos in the wild, a Lyre Bird, a Kookaburra's butt, and our short tailed Magpies. We also squeezed in a Seafood lunchtime river cruise of Sydney Harbour, absolutely superb and ended it with a walk along a South Coast Beach in Wollongong, where hubby got to put his feet in the Australian ocean, reaction,"Bloody cold!!" Well it is Winter in Australia.

Too wrap it all up, eventho, it is costly to travel to Australia and there is immense time travel to get there, if you are up for the challenge and have the opportunity to get there, I throughly recommend it. It truely is an amazing country so diverse in cultral and landscape, so awe inspiring in beauty, it has never turned away anyone without leaving them totally inspired.

On a final note, I am been totally overwhelmed with stuff too do and slowly working my way through it, so I be back soon too normal.Also I have some amazing photos of my trip I will feature soon. So thats a wrap.

Hi Guys!

Well I have lately been flat like a lizard drinking. With work and domestic duties and now packing my bag for a long haul overseas trip to Australia, next Friday to visit family. Still working up to the day I leave, hence the early bag packing. So first port of call Queensland than New South Wales. I am taking my husband with me and it will be his first over-seas trip. He thinks Australia is like the USA, he will be in for a polite shock believe you me. Culturally, too countries that speak English could not be so further apart in lifestyle, the language, customs, food, are totally different. I discovered this again the other night booking accomadation in Queensland I was confronted over a very crackly connection a fair dinkum Queenslander, they have the habit of speaking three words at a time with what seems five minute spaces, which is a heck of a long time when you are on an international call! I think and hope I made sense to him, however, when I hung up the phone I could'nt help picturing him going,"Strueth bloody Yankee at the other of the Blower,what she reckon its Bush week!". No connection to George Bush. So if anyone out there has any long haul and I mean 20 hour and more, travel advice I would love to hear it.

Well it looks like it is going to be shaping up to be a beautiful weekend, should reach 98f here in Utah, like Summer. So get out there and make the most of it!

I will have my laptop with me when I am in Australia, and will endeavour to do my best to keep up with comments and viewings. So if it is a little slow you will know why. Also, I would like to say thankyou to all my Devaintart friends and followers who support my work it is gretaly apprecaited and you guys rock! Finally, I find the hardest thing for me to squeeze time for is my features page, but I will change it is one of my goals before I leave.

Hi Guys!

Welcome to my Saturday! It a beautiful Spring Day outside the sun is shining the birds are out in abundance and it is one of those days it just makes you glad to be alive.

In my backyard at the moment I have a Hollywood personality Starling, eventho I know that they are a pest birds, I believe they where introduced from Europe like so many other plants and species before. I heard that they are in plague proportions in New York and some of their parks and buildings are over run with Starlings, defacating and leaving mess ever where. Just goes to show, that everything in Nature is a delicate balance and if you tip the scales ever so slightly, nature alters. Anyway, back to my Starling, he turned out to be a she! I sprung her this morning with a tuff full of building materials in her beak. Usually she sits in the trees outside my bedroom window and puts on a song and dance display, flapping her wings wildly. I have fallen in love with this little girl, eventho, I understand that she is a pest. She has the the most amazing irredescant plumage that shimmers irridescent opal green on her black feathers, so stunning in the sunlight. Will update a photo of her soon.

And I discovered the North American Magies, with their extra long tails have a beautiful shimmer of irridescant blue between their wings, so beautiful. Unlike the Australian Magpie, that has a shorter tail and is still Pie Balded, black and white. Australian Magpies sing a yondling song, unlike their North American counterparts. Australian Magpies, "Maggies" as we call them also gather in large flocks and love the life of surburbia, often seen on telegraph wires, yoddling all in harmony. Their favourite time to yoddle is the break of dawn, that is their morning wake-up song. Not apprecaited by some.

My drawing page is :iconbluekanga: I have seen some impressive Deviant pages out there, all I can say is you guys are very talented and unique. In some instances I feel very ammature compared to some of you guys. I have also noticed there is also obvoius benefits for being a Subscriber, it looks as tho you can add more creative flare to your Art page. Can anyone out there tell me what benefits they received from being a member of Deviant Art, than not having a subscription? And too all you photographers out there can you offer me any hints? What is the best camera too use? How do you acheive the best effects for landscape photography? What is the worst mistakes that you can make and have made in photography? Also, last question love feedback on my style, like which SUXS, which needs improvement and what I could do and what is an awesome photo in my Gallery. I have a IXUS Canon 6mega pixels. I have travelled all over the world with it.:):)
