Onto another topic ... WTF is going on with the Johnathan Ross and Russel Brand thing? Seriously. Yes, it was stupid and childish of them, prank calling Andrew Sachs like that, but do we really need to drag it out so much? The calls weren't even that BAD. Hell, they were pretty amusing. Ross and Brand were acting more like 5 year olds than anything.
Do we really have to treat them like terrorists ... ?

For months now, she'd been struggling with cancer. She got really skinny and couldn't eat well. Throwing up and crapping everywhere. Everyday she'd go behind this chest in our living room and hide there, and behind the printer of my old computer. It really broke my heart.
She wasn't taking care of herself anymore. She'd lost the will to live, she really had.

Some fucking bastard wild animal bit her, or so we think, and that's how the infection started, and the cancer began. Fibro sarcoma. A very aggressive growth. We got it removed once before, but because it was on her back, it was very hard to get rid of, and it came back with a vengeance.

I think she knew what was happening when we decided to get her put down last night. I was so surprised when Dad picked her up and she didn't whine. When he passed her to me she started purring. It was the first time in months.

I was crying when she finally passed away. When I went out I pretty much curled up on the floor and wailed. Bubbles was very close to me.. I just wish I could've done more for her, I didn't know what to say when she was going.

Shit's been really tough.

To make it worse, today I almost collapsed in ASDA's. I felt sick and told Dad, then I started blacking out and my knees were buckling. It was pretty warm in there, but I've been hotter.. I don't think it was the heat. I was sweating so much, but it was more a cold sweat, actually.

I don't know what's going on.

I really miss Bubbles.

Baby, I know sometimes we might've gone over a rough patch but I really love you. I wish it didn't have to end like that. For a long time you were my best and closest friend, despite not being a person, but I still have fond memories of you. I just wish you were here with me.

Well, I have little more than 1 and a half hours til the party tonight (I'm going as this weird sexy policewoman) sooo, yeah. More IC deaths & news; Nerith made another kill -- a feline named Qara, when he saw her and a bitch about to go at it and helped out said bitch 'cause ... he hates felines. Oh and, since she didn't respond like, at all, Vixi is pretty much dead'd (killed by T.V./Chimelu/myself as Racket out of anger/jealousy for being exiled) despite her little OOC bickerings.

Oh yes, and Racket was attacked a day or so ago with T.V.. Two sabers and a tigon, yo. She created a diversion and ended up kinda saving both of their hinies, though hers got scratched, yowie. D;

Hmm, what else ... oh yes! Akira lashed out at another cub who was harrassing her named Lil Kovu; he twinked, so he's dead too, by her paws. Woo.

Chena went onto heat not long ago, and is awaiting her love (Prepare) to come take her. Yay for secks online. One or two cubs might happen, then again, they might not, but I'll keep ya'll updated on it.

Exactly. It doesn't. In fact, in the making of The Lion King II, they realized that they'd have to change Kovu's status as Scar's biological son to avoid it.

The reasons behind this are quite obvious; how well do you think it would go down with the community to know that they're buying videos that their children are watching about the main character marrying his half-sister? It's simply inappropriate.

I distinctly remember, when I was about 7 or 8, watching some caretakers discuss Kovu's heritage and being quite edgy and controversial about it. They seemed very concerned at first. Making videos like that would really be putting the cat amongst the chickens.

Disney knows how protective parents can be. They certainly don't want their kids watching films where 'incestuous love' happens.

Secondly, I think that the "but lions don't care about incest" reason is very overused. You have to remember that Disney and its characters are not real. In the wild, lions cannot talk, but they do in TLK, don't they? So what does that prove?

Also, the lionesses in TLK were very angry when they heard that Scar killed Mufasa and raged a war against him, following Simba. In the wild that would certainly not happen. They would accept the new male's rule soon after the death of the previous and fight with him.

Another point to be made is that Nala bears no resemblance whatsoever to Scar. Scar has dark rings in his ears, but Nala doesn't. He has bright green eyes-- Nala's are usually blue. Scar's fur is dark and his mane and such is black whilst hers is very pale and she has brown on her tail tip. She also has the typical 'ridelander' nose, much unlike Scar.

It is mentioned nowhere in the film that Nala is Mufasa's child or of royal blood. Simba spends much time with his father whereas Nala rarely makes contact with the King, and once more, he is clearly devoted to Sarabi.

My final point is that Nala's father doesn't HAVE to be within the pride, as Kovu's wasn't (assuming that he is Zira's biological son). He could easily have left or been killed at some point, or Sarafina could've come to the pride during or even shortly after her pregnancy.

Now that that's over and I've vented all my anger on this silly incest TLK fetish that everybody's got going,

Time was vanishing and before I knew it, it was 5 to 3 o'clock. When I tried to say his name, all that came out was a whine. He didn't hear, obviously, and the talk of the people coming into reception wasn't much help either. He moved off and started going home.
I remember feeling like he was going to slip through my fingers like sand. And that time, I let my fear overtake my will and he never got to know.

But I learned from that mistake.

Today, a party was held for the beginning of summer. I was nervous. I was chatting with my friends for the most part, and gave my friend Kate a big hug because she's moving schools.
I looked at the clock as the party began to slow down. 15 minutes left. "Shit."

I heard a song that started playing as I began debating giving him the letter or not.

That same feeling was in my stomach today. It made me feel very sick in all honesty. But I decided that I had to tell him. Yes. It WOULD be wrong to walk away like a coward.

Finally I took out the letter I wrote. When we were moving out of the classroom I walked over to him and said, "Joe." I didn't care if his friends were there or not. When he looked at me, I handed him the letter and scampered off to Maths.

I know that he must've read it by now. I left my address and phone number on the letter. The sad thing is, though, that I made a mistake with my phone number. I'm scared and feel like an absolute idiot.

I sincerely hope that if he wants to contact me, he'd figure that the phone number was a duddy and mail me instead like my second suggestion...

I feel so angry and upset. It all spawned from a damn internet typo, too. Blah.

Alright, now that that's out of the way... I decided that, after reading the book--starting from late in the night of Saturday and finally finishing reading all 607 pages this afternoon, I'd like talk about Snape again.

Now, I'm not your average girl, that much I'll say right now. I'm very observant and sometimes I think I have split personalities, but this is getting off track.

Would you like to hear--or read--what I have to say?
If so, wonderful. Please read on.

I do not believe that Snape is evil or bad. Fair enough, some of you may say, but I'm going to give you proof, oho, don't worry.

(I do not have the book with me because I borrowed and had to give it back, so please bear with me.)

When Snape faces Dumbledore, the headmaster begins 'leading', with "Severus..." and "Severus, please..." just before he is murdered.

Dumbledore is clearly dying from his terrible sickness at this point.

What I've picked up on, is that all Dumbledore says is Snape's name and 'lease'. We cannot be sure what he's exactly pleading for, can we?

My suspicions are firm, that he could just as easily been begging for Snape to kill him instead. Dumbledore made it known to Harry that he did not fear death in the first book, and his words, "Death is but the next great adventure," are quoted in the sixth book, further supporting that Dumbledore may have been unlikely to be begging for his life to Snape, much less under the circumstance that the illness was killing him anyway.

He could've been begging Snape to kill him for, what I see to be 2 main reasons:

a) Malfoy explained to his headmaster that he had to kill him or he (and I believe his family?) would be murdered by Voldemort; he had no choice, but could not physically bring himself to do it. By having Snape kill him instead, it would free Malfoy of this burden (as well as allowing Snape to keep his Unbreakable Vow) and also;
b) allow Snape to keep his cover with the Death Eaters, which was something that Dumbledore, I believed, valued highly.

Another note to be made is that Dumbledore said that he trusted Snape wholly, but not with the Defense Against the Dark Arts teaching position.

Personally, I believe that J.K. Rowling leaves a very strong clue amongst the pages:

She states, more than once, that every single one of the school's Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers vanished mysteriously before 1 year's worth of teaching.

Snape is clearly very clever and skilled in this art, and I believe that perhaps Dumbledore didn't want Snape to try for that positions because, maybe, he was afraid of losing him, too.

Plus, ever noticed how Snape is easily able to kill the pleading Dumbledore (despite the orders of such being sent for Malfoy and Malfoy alone,) and yet comes to Harry's defense when he is attacked by another Death Eater, screaming that he is Voldemort's to kill?
Later on, he attacks Harry regardless of this when labeled a coward for the second time by Harry. I do not personally believe that Snape would have murdered him, but he was definitely furious.

Small clues have been left all through the series of books.

I may well add more to this page. And when I do... please read it!

The final (or so we've heard) book comes out this Saturday.
And I would honestly be surprised if everything I've written in this journal had been misled.

Digging up some old drama from ED, I was reading an article on there and something quite surprised me. A dedicated fan of this antagonist-like character said that they would basically lose all interest and liking for Snape if he turned out to be bad.

"Whoa," I thought, "What's up with that?"

I mean, I'm not the biggest Harry Potter fan. But I do read the books on occasion, and I've been to seen the movies--some of them, anyway.

And indeed, I think that Snape is a very interesting character.
Now I'll have you guys know that I take a deep interest in antagonist characters--villains--you know. I just find them very... I don't know. Pulling. Especially those that have become what they are with deeper, darker reasons. Gaara, Zim, Silas, Frollo, Snape... I find all of these characters to be unique and intriguing in different ways.

Perhaps this is because I find it reflects a little similarity in me, but I'm not sure.

But Snape is one of the most interesting, drawing and complex characters of these types I've seen to date--mainly because we cannot yet tell whether he's a true villain or actually on the heroes' side. It adds to it, you know?

But now I'm getting off topic. Apologies, I'll skip right to the point.
Which is this.

Why would you suddenly dislike Snape if he /did/ turn out to be evil or a 'bad guy'? He'd still be the same old Snape. You just learnt something new about him--that's all.

Well. I can understand that there's limits of that, of course, but you get the idea.

Interesting. I'd still favour Snape as a character for his complexity, depth and that certain element of darkness about him. He's an excellent character, evil or not, and he'd still be marked as one of my favourite Harry Potter characters.
