Just one more 8D JUSTTTTT OONNNEEEE MOOOOOREEE. Midterm that is. And then I'll be freeeee~~~ FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. To start on that 10 page essay that I should have started a month ago.

Yeah. There's really no point to this journal at all, except to waste your time. Over these past few days, I've come to that sudden jarring realization that I'm going to graduate soon. On looking back upon these years of academic learning, one often ponders upon the wonderful wisdom imparted to them during their brief, far too brief stay.......yeah. No. Here's what I really learned:

1) In class, the long tables are the most comfortable to sleep on. None of this "Oh crap, Imma falling off the tiny table connected to mah chair!" or "Oh crap, I just smacked the attentive, good student beside me with my sprawling sleeping posture."

2) Textbooks are made from the ground-up corpses of students who couldn't handle the stress. Why else are they so expensive?

3) Like cake, the editions are a lie. You will always find to your dismay, that your insanely expensive "Edition 7" differs from the older, cheaper "Edition 6" solely because "Chapter 5" has been renamed "Chapter 4" and they've also added their pet dog in the "dedicated to" section.

4) Every student graduates with a degree in BS.

5) Wikipedia as a whole is frowned upon by professors, NEVER, EVER cite it as a source. That being said, Wikipedia's own sources often come from reputable, scholarly journals and are entirely usable for your own citation. Loophole FTW.

6) Bibliography: The list of works you didn't read through to write your essay.

random insert: First three people to notice this sentence can has a free sketch from me. Just reply in the journal saying "I see what joo did thar!" or..something along those lines and your desired character for me to mangle artistically.

7) Organic Chemistry: Eating unsuspecting students alive since its inception into academia.

8) Confounds, Conclusion, Analysis etc.: The parts of the scientific write-up where you explain why your experiment failed and why you still deserve full marks despite your failure.

9) Group Projects: In which 50% of your grade depends on the knowledge and work ethic of complete strangers.

10) "It depends.": The most common answer given for the average student's most pressing questions.

And....going back to studying for that last midterm. (Not.)

I swear. All I make are fan-raving journals nowadays. But I have to get this off my chest before I explode. And seeing as I can't draw fast enough to satisfy my urges, I shall just rant as an anonymous nobody on teh interwebs. Ah, interwebs what did I used to do before you? Anddd...fangirl mode in 3....2......1:

What IS this? I swear I just had a nostalgic run about 6 months back. DARN YOU, SEKI TOMOKAZU. YOU AND YOUR SMOOTH, NICE SOUNDING TENOR-Y VOICE. HOWWWW??? HOW DID IT HAPPEN AGAIN. D8<

I can't escape it. I innocently heard a Saiunkoku Monogatari theme song the other day, and decided to listen to another one. By chance, I chose a character song. In particular, Ryuuki's. (I have no idea who Ryuuki is. I've never seen SM.) Buuuutt..despite never having seen the series, Seki-san's voice never escapes my memory . Why did you have to be the voice actor for him D<????!! To which Bassara was reminded of just how nice his voice sounded and from there, Fushigi Yuugi somehow wormed its way back in. Yeah, there's half the answer..to...whoever wants that free sketch from my newest pic. Keke, that's not the hard part anyways I am not ACTUALLY wanting to give anyone a free sketch ...but if you CAN answer where it's from.....I'll assume you loved FY as much as I did.

That's right, people. The completely biased-to-shounen, lover of all things sharp and stabby, violence-approving Bassara-san .....had her anime origins in SHOUJO. Point your fingers and laugh now. I know you want to get it out.
I don't suggest this series for anyone. Only because it is the single series where I throw all reason out the window and love simply because it is..what it is. Nothing ever reeaallyy made sense in this series If you stopped to think about it. And, no matter what anyone said about the OVAs, I loved them. Was it unnecessary? Yes. Was the plot totally disjointed? Yes. Was Miaka still as annoying as ever? Almost. Did they step all over Tasuki's image? Yes. Despite all that, was I busy taping up the pieces of my heart anyways after hearing these particular sentences?

"Could real friends have ever been so quick to distrust each other?"
"What are you saying!? We're best friends! We always were and will always be!!! I loved you! I've always loved you!!"

...................................(yesssss).

Whichever one of you smartasses at Studio Pierrot decided to animate that scene like that.... YOU D<...you have my eternal gratitude. );

Any Chichiri fangirl will know. Exactly. What I'm talking about. And if you don't, you're OBVIOUSLY missing the OVA

Anyways...Thanks Watase-san. Thanks for introducing us to the most loyal, most self-sacrificing, kindest bunch ever.....and then systematically slaughtering most of them. You, my dear mangaka, are the reason why I have ducttape all over my thumpy blood recycler D<.

Yeahh...I'm going to stop now. I just reread everything I wrote and I sound like a sap.
Warning: EPIC (shortened already) WALL OF TEXT AHEAD. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. For those of you who have my type of attention span >>> TL;DR: Avatar was awesomesauce. Why didn't I finish it earlier?

Fine! I'll admit it! I'm apparently not the anime fan I thought I was, seeing as my new favourite animated series is one of those series stuck on the border. "Do we call it anime?" "But it was made in America!" "Uh, lots of the people involved were asian though!" "Americanime? But that's the name we give to failed anime-wannabes like Martin Mystery!" For the record, I don't know what to call it, so I'll simply call it my favourite animated series.

Talk about being late to the party. In my defense D< I totally caught the first episode, the first time it aired and watched through the whole first season and a half...until university came around. Curse you post-secondary education!! As a culturally identified banana, Avatar felt. so. freaking. familiar. I'll always be the first to say it: I'm not that well learned in the asian-half of my cultural identity. Regardless, I've had enough exposure to certain elements of it that, if you're going to pass your series off as a "chinese martial arts series", you'd better do. it. right. And Avatar did just that. (For the record, Forbidden Kingdom did NOT do it right. Really. It wasn't ok. Wiki lies.) It had those wonderful rhythmic actions with the perfect pauses in between all their moves and stances. Heck, it HAD stances....and distinct fighting styles. It had old people! Who were cool! It had convoluted plots that occured simultaneously. It had all the important characters always doing something, instead of conveniently disappearing and reappearing. It had a cliche epic fight conclusion complete with giant shiny ball of light reaching to the heavens. (Ok. I lied. That's not usually part of chinese martial arts series.) More or less, Avatar was like a typical chinese martial arts series, minus the horrid CG beams. Yes, horrid CG beams are a staple of the genre, comes with the territory. Anyways, thanks to Nickelodeon and those two guys whose last names are too foreign for me to remember XD. Being OCDish, I just searched 'em up >> Dimartino and Konietzko. Thanks for a greattttt seerrrieesss. And curse you guys for having so many cliche things similar to ParaShi. Now all our fans will think we're copycats 8D. Naah, I still love you, my beloved Avatar series. D: Here's to hoping for Avatar 2.

OCD.)

Completely jumping topics to things I wish I could tell a few of the manga artists whose work I still keep up to date with, some of which I wonder why I still do:

Naruto:
Kishimoto-san, Hinata could have afforded another page or two (dozen) of coolness before her pathetically uncool exit from the battlefield. To add insult to injury, the "Eek!/Kya!" did not help. I kid you not. The 'Eek' is there. [link] Also, please toss Naruto off the nearest cliff and find a new protagonist.

Bleach:
Tite-san, your characters have been charging and firin' thar lazors for a few chapters now. I can almost forgive you for that, but no matter how I look at it, Ichigo's adolescent thigh was DO NOT WANT SEE. Warning: Clicking on this link may make you grimace in disgust and/or laugh at how funny it looks. >> [link] Tite-san, I demand that you devise a machine so I may go back in time and unsee it.

One Piece:
Oda-san, if you die before One Piece is finished, I will be sad. Therefore, I propose cloning you and storing your clones as back-ups for organ donors, just in case you lose a few of yours in the long run. I haven't thought as far as what to do about ethical and moral issues of the whole cloning fiasco. Will get back to you on that.

Eyeshield 21:
Inagaki-san, Please end it soon. By soon, I mean get into the time-machine Tite-san will build for me, and end it back 'then'. 'Then' being 'that event' which is a big, fat spoiler, so I won't say it.

P.S. I still love Hiruma.

Kekkaishi:
Tanabe-san, thanks to your constant subliminal drawings of taiyaki, ice cream, parfaits, dango, cakes and donuts, I've now developed a craving for sweet things. I've eaten two sundaes in the past week. I never eat sundaes. I hope it doesn't last long. Or I shall get fat. I hope you'll feel guilty then. Besides the possibility of unwanted weight gain, don't listen to your editors. Screw the cute, cuddly characters, Oji-san characters rock.

Fairy <strike>Fail</strike> Tail:

Mashima-san, stop doing three series at the same time. It's not working. I can't tell where the climax of each arc is anymore, because everything is a climax. And, we all loved Sieg in Rave, but I think three copies of him are quite enough. Namely, Sieglein, Jeral and Mistgun.

Gintama:

Sorachi-san, I came, I saw, I laughed. A lot. If only I knew more of the Japanese culture so I'd understand all your jokes.

And..well there's a couple dozen other series, but I've already ran out of amusing things to say. And there we have it. Until next time.

I know once I click "Send" I'll no doubt be editing it again due to some dumb little mistake I spot. Even though I've read through this multiple times already. And clicked on all the links to see if they worked. [What was that about being obsessive-compulsive? Keke.]

Yeah, I know I just made a journal not too long ago, but I thought this warranted enough importance to mention to..whoever's out there. If Firefox isn't working for you very well, do NOT. I repeat, do NOT try any methods involving "Profile Manager" to fix it or creating new profiles, unless you REALLY REALLY know what you're doing. Why? It'll save you a lot of heartache .....this "method" literally ate all my desktop files, and basically any files I had in "My Documents"...so if you're a desktop packrat like me, all your files are now gone. songs, pictures, videos, psds (yes, that's right, your preciiouussss WIP-pssddddssss). Luckily, this being a new comp and all, I didn't have that much of importance that really hurt to lose.

So yeah , If this were minesweeper, I just hit a mine. I just opened Pandora's Box. Drew the short straw. Murphy's Law slapped me in the face. etc Now excuse me while I express my rage by imagining myself mauling a random person's head.

Happy New Year everybody! (Whut? You're an entire month late? Shuddap. Imma rebel! I dun go by teh norm stndards of the world.)

Uh..I haven't forgotten about those free sketches from erm, a month ago ...but as ~Koutaku will tell you, it'll take me forever to get to them...thank goodness they're free and time limit-less, and not commissions or I'd feel like a total ass for it. keke.

I'm also shamelessly writing this new entry that speaks of absolutely nothing of importance here, 'cuz I just deleted most of my journals and it looks kinda awkward to have the ParaShi FAQ..sitting there..on..my front..page. In hindsight, I should of left the last journal there, instead of spamming your pages ....hopefully there aren't that many of you that read my journals.
(RANDOM CLOSING SENTENCE OF UNRELATEDNESS: Karl must win Law of Talos.)

Doodeedoo...I've secretly edited my previous Journal entry so as not to bother all my watchers with this.

It would seem that a few of you, rather, a few of Nuri's watchers are starting to poke around and get curious with our OC story, ParaShi. And seeing as I tend not to churn out pretty colourful pictures like she does, I guess I'll just throw up this FAQ so we can just link over here for any questions. This is just a FAQ that ..well, I anticipate will satisfy at least SOME amount of curiousity.

>> Will probably add to this periodically.

Annyyways, On to the questions!

Q: What is ParaShi?

A: ParaShi is the name that =nuriko-kun and Bassara came up with for our joint comic-project....which is like a hobby for us.

Q: Where can I read ParaShi?

A: In your hearts. Jk. (darn you, Sogeking.) Uh, as of right now, you can't read it anywhere. Someday, you may find a readable copy in existence.

Q: Why is it called ParaShi?

A: Nuri's side of the story is called Paradox Shigen, Bassara's called Paradigm Shift. ' PARA ' dox ' SHI 'gen. ' PARA 'digm ' SHI ' ft. Hence, ParaShi. nifty eh?

Q: What's ParaShi about?

A: Hmm....Now that's a tough one. We can't tell you exactly what it's about, seeing as that's what we're developing the story for :3...but some themes would include..traveling...war etc. The genre is mainly fantasy-action-adventure with some sci-fi.

Q: Is Fuu female or male?

A: Fuu is female.

Q: Why are some names in Japanese and some in English?

A: Because we think they're cool! Just kidding. There's an actual legitimate reason for it, but you'll have to hope we actually make the series to find out what it is .

Q: How old are they?

A: Age hasn't really been decided quite yet for all the characters, but just know that Nuri's side of things span nearly a lifetime, starting from probably 4-5ish? up to the age of around 18-20ish. Don't quote me on that. I'll have to reconfirm with her. Bassara's side of things start at around 17-20 and end around 22-25.

Q: Where did you guys get your ideas from?

A: Basically everywhere you can think. Movies, games, anime, comics, tv shows, real people.

I'll add more when the time comes....any questions about storyline will not be answered :3....questions about individual character traits however, toss 'em at us if you want.

The Bourne Obsession - Take Two

Woot! I finally watched the third one in theaters! ...and will probably waste more money to go watch it again. Scratch that. I WILL waste more money to watch it again. It's that good. Anywho...more vaguely funny Bourne musings for the random passerby >>

Edit: Eh...I guess I'll just cram the list together.

1) Pens are deadly, period.
2) Magazines can give you more than a paper cut. With enough force and ingenuity, it can give you a concussion and blow your house up.
3) Toasters + Resourceful Assassins = What house?
4) Seatbelts save lives. Use them.
5) Beware, assassins downplay everything. A small "bump" actually means "a flight of stairs".
6)When lost, just rip off an emergency exit plan sign, those always tell you the quickest way out.
7)Don't leave your blinds open. Assassins love open blinds.
8)Always listen to the guy who can break your neck, first.
9)Towels are your friend.
10)If you get a phone call from a guy sayin he's "Jason Bourne", now would be a good time to run around screaming and hoping he misses from his sniping position.
11) Consciences have a nasty habit of popping up at the worst possible moments.
12) In the Black Ops world, "come alone" apparently always means "bring blatantly obvious undercover backup".
13) "Speak softly and carry a book." Preferably a hard cover one.
14) In the right hands, everything and anything can be a weapon of mass destruction.
15) Jason Bourne has no weaknesses. He does however, have a bad habit of driving against traffic.
16) A dozen trained agents against one amnesiac assassin is bad odds. For the dozen.
17) If you see the guy in the Wanted posters driving off in your car, now would be a good time to call your insurance company. Better yet, start looking for a new car.
18) Toiletries make decent projectiles.
19) Whoever came up with the catchphrase "You can run, but you can't hide", has obviously never met Bourne: Master of Hide and Go Seek.
20) Murphy's Laws of Combat: No battle plan survives contact with the enemy.
The Bourne Corollary: No battle plan survives contact with Bourne.
