Recently I've had the time to reflect back on my life. For some reason, I can't help but be displeased.

How I long to regress back to the days of my early childhood! I want to experience the joys of 2nd grade all over again. I want to carelessly sketch up cartoons. I want to collect McDonald's toys. I want to bounce around in a jumper at a friend's birthday party.

...

I want my innocence back.

Perhaps I've grown up too fast? And into what? Do I want to be the person that I am? Hmph. Hardly.

Recently, I've looked back through old dA posts. dA has always been a special place to me... it's where my social awakening over the internet took place. Before I joined dA, I had no idea what the heck "rofl" even meant.

As I scrolled through the oldest posts here on my page... I couldn't help but notice how horribly immature I was. I kept finding myself thinking, "Did I really post that? REALLY? How could I have said something so blatantly STUPID!?"

And now... what am I? Am I "mature"? In three years, will I look back on posts that I make today and think, "Look how immature I was"?

People change. It's a universal truth. I've changed into a person who hardly deserves life. How is my existence justified? Why am I given the privilege to even breath this air?

I've turned against God countless times, yet he never ceases to welcome back this prodigal son. No matter how many times I've failed, no matter how many times I've come up short, I have arms outstretched towards me.

An addition to this, my friends love me. My family loves me. What more could I want? I'm surrounded by people who care about my worthless life.

Perhaps I'm being too hard on myself, but I doubt it. All I need to do is look back upon the words I've used to wreck, some of the things I've done to hurt.

I'm living a life of inglorious waste.

Cyber Band
Well... as most of you know, my previous attempt at forming band was an epic failure. My drummer couldn't play many songs, one guitarist never showed up, and the other guitarist didn't know any songs we wanted to play. It was CHAOS.

So... I've abandoned that idea and came to a new one. Why should I be limited by the musicians within my school? With that in mind, I met ~guitardude2, a very nice and cool guy. Knowing that he was a guitar player, I asked if he wanted to start a cyber band. He said yes, and that's where it all begins!

So he and I are now going to be playing music and writing songs together by sending each other audio files of the music we record. Eventually, I hope to be submitting our songs here on dA so you guys can hear them! Wish us luck!

Upcoming Art
Well, according to my poll, you guys want to see more of my anime style art. Next down the list is Sonic art and animations. Then... I was really surprised that you guys wanted me to resurrect the ol' Shadow Legion story. Seeing that my writing skills have progressed, I might just do that.

So, now comes the question... What am I going to submit next? Well, I plan on finishing my 100th deviation (a flash animation). Then hopefully I'll draw some more anime just like you guys wanted. I'll write more for the Shadow Legion story and also finish up some lyrics I've been working on. Looks like I'm gonna be busy...

I had a really great birthday! I got to watch 9 on Saturday.

It was a pretty good movie, but I didn't like the ending that much. I dunno... it just wasn't satisfying. If any of you are going to see it later, pay no attention to me. Form your own opinion.

Then, at school on Monday (my birthday), I hung out with pretty much all my good friends. My friend Lavie made me some chocolate chip cookies and espresso bownies (which was super nice of her)

There was enough to feed a whole nation, so everyone got some. Oh, and Melanie gave me this AMAZING Oreo thing... that was AMAZING. Thanks, sis

ALSO! Final Fantasy 13 is gonna be coming out sometime after Christmas! I'm gonna be buying a ps3 slim (which is only $300) and then getting it when it comes out C: FINAL FANTASY FANS REJOICE!

I absolutely loved FF 10 (FF X), which is still my favorite one so far. The battle system got old after a while, but the story was amazing. All the characters were really unique. Final Fantasy 12? Eh... the gameplay is certainly more fun, but it can be a PAIN in boss fights to manage every character at once. The characters? Not very likable. Very apathetic. It was cool that they incorporated a whole political conflict into the storyline, but other then that, the story wasn't all that great. It wasn't dramatic at all... dull, almost. (I still gotta finish the game, though. I'm almost done with it.)

But Final Fantasy 13 already looks promising! Apparently, it's gonna be a lot like 10. The battle system went back to the good ol' turn based system of the games before FF12... except there's no more random battles! You get to pretty much choose most of your fights, just like in 12. Also, the fighting animations during battles are supposedly highly influenced by Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children. That should be SWEET! Check out the trailer! [link]

Well, today is September 11th once again... and it seems as if it all never happened. I wasn't reminded of the significance of this day until about halfway through school... but... that's just it. We can't forget what happened today. Many people died... firefighters... citizens of New York... the passengers on the planes.

Who is to blame? Was it the terrorists? Perhaps it was the government? It doesn't matter. The fact remains that people were murdered. The identity of the murderers doesn't change that.

I think it would only be appropriate to take a minute out of our busy life to reflect upon that tragic day. We must remember for the families who lost loved ones... remember for the stricken and devastated in New York and around the world...

We can't forget 9/11.

So... *huff* *puff* I've been offline for the past few days... but I'm back, and life has been awesome!

Wednesday I finished my summer homework for good! I actually finished the work a few days before, but that was the rough draft that I typed. I had to write it all out still :3

Then yesterday, I got my braces off!!! WOOT! After two years of discomfort, they're finally off! And my teeth look epic :3

Now today, I'm going to Guitar Center with my dad to play some guitars... I'm gonna be getting one with my birthday moneyz c:

Lol... Hot Topic...

So, after I got done with my homework on Wednesday, I went to the mall with my friends Poof, Walter, and Lavie for a school meeting. Before the meeting (which was at Pat and Oscars... yummy pizza...) we walked around the mall for a while. The day before, we decided that we'd all go in Hot Topic and laugh at some emos. We were utterly disappointed. THERE WERE NO EMOS! :c Oh well, I looked at some band shirts and albums. Hot Topic is actually a really cool store for those of you who are fearful. Walter was pretty nervous in there and kept wanting to leave, lol. Before we left the store, they managed to convince me to try on a studded vest thingy with random zippers all over it. It was amazing, lol.

Oh, yeah, then there was this place called Spencer's. Lavie was like, oh, yeah, my cousin and I go in there all the time. So we go in and the first thing a see is a pair of rubber bewbs in a box... to the left are some Slipknot shirts and Twilight books. Then we see some shot glasses. We had concluded that this was quite a random store... but then... we saw some blow up dolls, some dildos, and a lolly pop shaped like a dick 'Oo Eh... we had enough and got out of there.

Next was Hollister. Why did we go in there? I dunno, I think Lavie wanted to. So she drags us in and I manage to get sprayed in the eye with perfume by Walter. Then Lavie goes and sprays random cologne on me. I smelled... interesting when we got out of there.

Anyway, that was my day at the mall. Very interesting...

Well, yesterday I discovered something worse than a Rockstar. What is it you ask? Well, have I got a story to tell you.

Yesterday I went over to my friend Walter's house. My friends James and Poof were also there. When I arrived, I noticed that along the kitchen counter was a line of empty energy drink cans. After a few questions, I learned the truth. Made from about 9 different energy drinks (including a Rockstar), some honey, some syrup, LOTS of sugar, and some other ingredients... was... an amazing drink... that we call the "Witch's Brew."

We poured some out into four glasses for each us to drink. We all took a sip... and got the same reaction...

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!? OH MY GOD!!! OHHHHH!!!! THIS IS HORRIBLE!!!!" *Walter goes for a nearby water pitcher*

But yes, we made something amazing. And next time we aren't going to use syrup, honey, and a lot of sugar. Instead, we'll use the energy drinks and some club soda (for carbonation). It's gonna be great...

So... I hung out with my friends Waldo and Poof (those are nicknames) yesterday. What is it... like... Epic Crusade number 37? I dunno, but it was pretty funny yesterday. We were walking down to the grocery store near my friend's house. We were waiting to cross the street on this one intersection, and an old red convertible filled with four AMAZING douchebags drives up. Poof and I sorta stare at it for a sec... we were waiting to see if Waldo would spot them. Not 5 seconds later, I hear, "DUDE! LOOK AT THOSE DOUCHEBAGS!" from Walter... Followed by an "I know, right!?" by me... and some pointing and laughing. Dude, the car was filled with em'! They all had the douchebag glasses. One had a douchebag mohawk. One was an obesity! And they all had the "too cool for school" look on their face. So after some pointing and laughing, the crossing light started to flash. We crossed the street... and got some weird looks from the douchebags. Ah, it was funny.

Then we went in Ralphs and bought some IBC Rootbeer (sorry Kyle, lol). It's the kind of rootbeer that is in a glass bottle. Luckyly I got a bag for it. I didn't want the cops to stop us on the walk home, it seriously looked like a six pack of beer :3

We got to Waldo's house and started to drink our rootbeer... Waldo's dad gave an "Ehem." Walter replied saying, "It's not beer, dad!" -_-

Then we fooled around and played Kingdom Hearts and talked about how the 2D Final Fantasy games are way better then the 3D ones (which is debatable). So yeah, that was my day... and we're gonna hang out again today and watch Flight 666. That's the new (and awesome) Iron Maiden documentary. Up the irons! \m/

Well, yesterday I went to the beach for the first time this summer! I guess it's sort of ironic that it was the first time that I went during the whole break... because the beach is like... what? Two or three miles away from my house? But yeah, it was fun. I got to boogieboard and body surf... and snack on the beach

After that, we went to my little brother's friend's/family friend's house. They have a pool, so we took advantage of the hot weather and went swimming. Me, being the idiot that I am, decide not to put on more sunscreen since I usually never get sunburned. Well... you all know how that ends. After an afternoon of swimming, I discovered that I got an EPIC SUNBURN! And at the moment... IT HURTS LIKE HELL!!! Well actually, it doesn't hurt that bad. It just hurts, lol.

Life... It's Been "Meh"

So life has been meh. Pretty meh. Yesterday was cool and all, but when we went over to my bro's friends house, I pretty much had to babysit four hyper children: by bro, my bro's friend, and my bro's friend's bros. It was tiring... and of course the sunburn didn't help. Then I got home and was finally happy... except I learned from my dad that a couple of my friend stopped by to see if I could hang out. It was too late for that, now... we were gonna go lynch these annoying freshmen that always bother us when we're walking around. I didn't want to miss that...

Well, when I got home I did some homework. That's right. I've got summer homework D:< In order to take European History next school year, you gotta do a summer project. IT SUUUUUUUCKS.

And for a few other reasons, life's been meh. Not great. Not horrible. Just... meh.

THINKING ABOUT THE FUTURE

I've been thinking and talking with my family about the future. If the new law isn't passed or if it is delayed, I should be able to get my driver's license when I'm sixteen. That means I'll need a car... or truck... or van...

SOOOOO my dad and I have talked, and he wants to get me a truck. That's exactly what I wanted, too. But it's not gonna be a huge gas devouring truck, I'm gonna get a little Ford Ranger or something like that. I don't mind at all, I love those trucks. Anyway, my dad is convinced that if he gets me that, I'll only be able to take one friend with me at a time. Parents... so suspicious... but it's okay! My friends are just the kinds of idiots who would all chill in the bed of the truck while I drive.

Also... I've been thinking about a job. My mom wants me to be a computer engineer since I'm pretty good at math. She wants me to rack in the big bucks... That way I can buy her stuff xD Dad wants me to be a lawyer. He thinks it's a great job because it "puts the bad guys behind bars." But they don't care if I don't get the job they want me to get, they believe I should be anything I want.

I don't really want to be either of the two... I want to do something artistic. My passion is art, whether it is drawing or music. To be honest, I want to be a musician. I want to tour the world in a rock band, whether it be alternative, punk, or metal.

And now is the part of my journal where I explain how awesome my summer has been so far! Lessee...

Last sunday I bought a new hat and a new album. I think I said this already, but the album I got was "Oh! Gravity." by Switchfoot. It's an amazing album C:

Then Monday I hung out with some friends. We got bored and decided to play the new Soul Calibur game... which ended in a fierce rivalry between my friend Waldo (that's his nickname) and I. I beat him fair and square, so he insisted on having a wrestling match. And if he lost that, he wanted a pistil duel. Well, I beat him in the wrestling match... got em' in a choke hold, lol. We decided to pass on the pistil duel.

Then Tuesday I hung out with my fried Kyle (who you know as ~Naezo). It was epicly awesome... all I remember is playing Little Big Planet and having ice cream

I went to a Padre game on Thursday with my sister. We took the Coaster (a local train) to the stadium. They were playing the Seattle Mariners... and eventually won the game in the 10th inning. After that, we were gonna go to the fair, but it was too late and the last train was coming so we went home... and ate pizza and more ice cream 8D

Friday we went to a birthday party and went bowling! It was quite epic, especially when I decided to use a little kid's bowling ball and got my fingers stuck... meh...

So I guess I've been passing my time alright. But the internet is back, so I'm back on dA. I'll be submitting more art and finishing requests as well as art trades.

Yeah, so I've pretty much been living my life in misery for the past few days... We're hoping that At&t will fix the problem soon.

In other news, I bought the latest Switchfoot album on Sunday: Oh Gravity. IT'S AWESOME!

My first thing that I need to finish is the author pictures for GHZA2. After that, I have an art trade with Paul and a few contest entries to go. When that is all done, I have a flash animation that I want to do... lets just say it involves Slipknot

Meanwhile, I'm working on a song. My band just recently got a new lead guitarist, my friend JP. So I wrote a song on bass and he wrote the guitar part to it. I'm pretty much done with the lyrics and vocal layout, so soon the song should be done. When the writing process is finished, I'll record a few drafts of the song. I'm so pumped, I probably should post my lyrics C:

What happened was... me, my bud Poof, and Patrick went to my friend Jake's place to practice for the first time. Jake is the drummer, Patrick is our guitarist, Poof is the backup bassist, and I'm the bassist and/or the other guitarist. Anyway, we didn't know any songs that we could all play. Jake doesn't know any songs at all, pretty much... mostly because he has a crappy drum set. So we just spent 3 hours trying to play songs but ending up failing because at least one person couldn't play their part.

Looks like we all need to be on the same page. I'm gonna try and get the guys to all practice the same song. Maybe then we can manage.

...but for now, we suck. Sons of a Martyr is Sons of a Failure.

Now to wallow in my disappointment,

I was in 8th grade... and a couple friends of mine were really into a group called "Disturbed." I'd always joke around and call them some emo metal band. But that was before I finally got around to listening to an album. When Disturbed's album "Indestructible" came out last year, I asked if they could send me a copy of the album to put on my iPod. Turns out, I got really into Disturbed, too.

Disturbed was all I'd listen to, I was pretty much obsessed :3 After a while, I started to listen to more metal bands. Metal had become a genre that I loved. My friend gave me some Thousand Foot Krutch, Iron Maiden, System of a Down, and Metallica albums. I also started to listen to Skillet, which is a hard rock band.

As time went by, I started to listen to other genres that I now really enjoy. I started listening to some Alternative bands, like Pinback, Foo Fighters, and Switchfoot. I also started listening to some punk, such as Rise Against and A Day To Remember.

Recently, mostly with the beginning of 2009, I really started to search for new bands to listen to on my own. I wanted to hear what Slipknot sounded like (I was curious), so I listened to their latest album. I could barely tolerate the screaming, but the album was "alright" in my opinion at the time (I love it now). Then I listened to Demon Hunter's newest album... which was amazing. I learned to tolerate screams... and actually enjoy the screamo, by listening to this album. Demon Hunter also introduced to me the metal sub-genre: melodic metalcore. This has become my favorite genre of all C:

Since then, by favorite bands have become Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Demon Hunter, Iron Maiden, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, System of a Down, Trivium, A Day to Remember, Rise Against, Skillet, Switchfoot, Slipknot, It Dies Today, Thousand Foot Krutch, Metallica, Disciple, Foo Fighters, and The Devil Wears Prada.

As you can see I love music ...but I really owe it all to Disturbed in my opinion. They are the ones who started it all for me. If it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't be an avid musician either... I would have never started to play guitar or bass.

So today, I'm gonna celebrate by blasting up my music all night! ...although I'll probably fall asleep xD

1. Okay, so Epic Crusade #2 was slightly less epic than the last one. We added on another friend of ours, James, and made for the shopping area again. This time, we sorta made Waldo dress up in a suit. A very nice suit. And a tie also if I remember correctly. Anyway, we walked on over there. People were giving Waldo weird looks, considering he was the best dressed person there. We walked into Rite Aid and Ralph's, and yes, took more idiotic pictures. We bought some energy drinks then went and sat outside what we thought was a closed Dentist's office. We were wrong. So there we are sitting outside, drinking, and talking about zombies (Resident Evil 5). Then a hygienist walks out of the dentist's office, looked at us, then walked away. We all started laughing because we realized the oddity of our situation. There we are, four kids, one all dressed up, and we're drinking energy drinks in front of a dentists office while talking about zombies. Yep.

2. Easter! Yeah! It's cool. I'm having fun. Sorta. Just bored at home actually ;_;

3. Yep, I got a haircut. My hair's a lot shorter now. Yay.

4. Okay, this is where my disappointment lies. My band is supposed to have our first practice today... but I can't get a hold of my drummer! We're all supposed to meet at his house, so I'm not even sure if we can still practice. BAH!!!! :C

Anyway, I'm sure "Oh my Lenin" describes this journal quite well! Thank you for letting me waste 5 minutes of your life!

So... we went on an epic crusade... me, Poof, and Waldo (my friends, the azn invasion). But before the epic crusade, we were hanging out at Walter's place. Apparently, there is this girl at school who is obsessing over Poof. Me and Waldo were looking through his phone... and saw one of her text messages to him, "i love you." Then... we see the phone number. I call it and put the phone on speaker. We hear, "Hello? ...Hello?" I hang up and say, "Yeah... thats her." Then Walter and I come up with the most epic plan. We were gonna call her up and say "Um hello. I'm a good friend of Piyush's. I just wanted to inform you that he is homosexual." We were gonna do it... but Walter wouldn't because he was scared and I wouldn't because I was afraid she'd recognize my voice. So, an epic plan went down the toilet... for now.

Now for the main story: the Epic Crusade... TO THE GROCERY STORE! Anyway, we were only a 10 minute's walk from Ralph's so we decided to go and buy something. It was really hot out, why not get an ice cream or something? Then the Epic Crusade was born. We finally came to the store and started taking random pictures. I grabbed a Doritos bag and hugged it... When the picture was taken, I became known as the Communist Doritos Ninja (because it was a red back and it covered half my face; I'll post the picture later). Then, I gave Waldo a stick of salami and he posed for a picture like he was about to commit seppuku. Another picture is of Poof wearing a pair of female glasses. Yet another picture is of me and Poof holding up a Bleach and Clorox bottle (shameless advertisement).

After all these idiotic pictures (which I will probably post), we went to the drink section. Not a good idea. They had Monsters. Yes, the heart attack-bringing energy drink. They had the big cans. The biggest cans Monsters come in. The cans so hug that the amount it holds meets the amount you are allowed to drink in one day. Yes, and thats what we bought. No harm, right? WRONG! The damn thing gave me a short boost of energy, then I crashed about an hour ago! I'M ABOUT TO COLLAPSE AT THE COMPUTER TABLE! Well, If you don't hear from me for a while, you'll know I died from that heart-attack-in-a-can.

Well, this ends my story. Chances are, you regret reading this and wasting about 5 minutes. Oh well, I'm going to sleep now or something...

Then my band, Sons of a Martyr, will hold our first practice on Thursday or Friday. I'm so pumped for that! We're probably gonna play some Rise Against, some Demon Hunter, whatever we really feel like practicing.

Then... as soon as it started, it will end! But I don't care. I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts!

My Most Anticipated Album Releases Of 2009

1. Avenged Sevenfold
Album Name : TBA
Release Date : TBA
After hearing about Avenged Sevenfold putting out a new album this year, I went nuts! City of Evil was, in my opinion, their best album. Their most recent album, the self titled one, Avenged Sevenfold, was very good as well... but certainly wasn't as good as City of Evil. In hopes that Avenged Sevenfold can get better, I am patiently waiting for this album C:

2. Demon Hunter
Album Name : TBA
Release Date : Possibly in 2009
I am not even sure if Demon Hunter is going to release a new album this year... but since their last album was released in 2007, chances are they'll put one out. Many of the bands on this list released their last album in 2007, so I'm hoping that Demon Hunter will put one out this year! They released possibly my favorite album of all time, Storm the Gates of Hell, which is also their most recent album. I'm am highly anticipating a new album, so it'd better be this year! C:

3. Iron Maiden
Album Name : TBA
Release Date : TBA
Iron Maiden is perhaps the greatest heavy metal band ever to exist. They've been around for a very long time, being actually one of the first metal bands. They've put out 14 great albums, and the next one will be number 15. Every great band strives to have 15 albums, and Maiden is about to do it! Up the Irons! C:

4. Skillet
Album Name : TBA
Release Date : After their spring tour, so I'm guessing sometime this summer.
Skillet probably got popular with Comatose, their most recent album. Rebirthing and Whispers In The Dark were HUGE hits. Overall, the album was, indeed, a great album. Chances are, this next one will blow Comatose away C:

5. Killswitch Engage
Album Name : TBA
Release Date : June 23rd, 2009
Killswitch Engage is a great band! Their latest album was amazing, but I think it could have been better. I believe that with this next release they'll have progressed as a band. My hopes are that it will be even better than the last album C:

6. Switchfoot
Album Name : TBA
Release Date : TBA
Switchfoot just keeps on putting out good music! Their last one didn't do too well with the critics, so I am having really high hopes that this album will do good C:

7. Thousand Foot Kruch
Album Name : Welcome to the Masquerade
Release Date : Fall 2009
TFK is one of my favorite bands, but their most recent album wasn't as good as I'd hoped it would be. So... I'm hoping they'll improve with this one C:
