Just realized I hadn't updated my journal since mid Jan... I didn't realize that... going stealth... mostly because... i've started university!!

oh and i'm doing a double degree, Bachelor of Law/ Management, (management includes accounting, global relations, political stuffs aswell as management) also doing an Undergraduate diploma in languages (Mandarin).

My brother adores his books, and I myself read ‘Seven Ancient Wonders’ and though it was a bit predictable and very ‘Indiana Jones’ like, I loved the little girl ‘Lily’ and found I liked the book overall. Especially the attention to detail! Rather than ‘there were traps’ he provides how each one works, where they are, and diagrams and sketches accompany the writing. The characters are also quite realistic and each have their own little quirks and features.


Thus; we went to his book signing for his new book and sequel, ‘The Six Sacred Stones’. There was quite a long line which did surprise me and we waited for ages. (in which i discovered that ali baba now sells the kebabs with boxes, Dymocks has a box of lollies for keeping us happy, and that chewing gum and hot chips...? never again!!!) I wasn’t that hyped at first, seeming as the last author that has made an impression upon me was Gary Crew. My overall impression was of an angry and spiteful old man, though I understand this may have not been the case. He may have just been having a particularly bad day… However, it was enough to turn me from reading any of his books. (that's gary crew i'm talking about )


However, Matthew Reilly is a different case altogether!! I found him very charming and willing to talk! No wonder the line was so slow! he took the time to have a full conversation with everyone, elaborating and not trying to cut short or move on. Asking his fans questions, whether they liked the books, how old they were, memorising their names for those few minutes (which I would not have bothered with ), signing stacks of books and getting spelling perfect. (well that's just what i got from when we were talking to him! ) and i know that he stayed until everyone had their books signed (which was a while )

Pictures, handshakes, lovely guy. Oh and I didn’t expect him to be so young! Around 33 years old I believe? He’s done well. My brother was practically glowing after we’d had our 5 mins with him. Also, my brother gave him some notebooks which my mother designed, painted, and printed and he loved them!! Reilly told him that he’s always looking for some small notebooks to carry around and write in and that perhaps the notes, sketches, and designs for his next books will be written in there. lol! He was so genuinely nice, that is just surprised me so much! My brother’s still going around saying “You know what? I’ve met Matthew Reilly!” “Do you who I met today? Matthew Reilly!” “See this book? Signed by Matthew Reilly!” etc. I mean, I was there, I know lol!! he doesn't need to tell me

EDIT: oh and he looks very different to how he looks in various photos! better in real life

So yeah, just wanted to let you know that. hmm, I guess, do you know any other lovely/ extremely kind authors or just random celebrities a bit like this? It’s nice to believe that they love all their fans so much! A few days ago I went to the most spectacular wedding I've ever been to!!!

I've been to half a dozen or so weddings but this was really really amazing!!!!

Location was "Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel" (you know, where nicole kidman got married to keith urban) it was a stunning place, unusual too! all the pews faced the isle! rather than the red velvet dias!

it was a BEAUTIFUL day ^_^ sunny, and not too hot

the ring bearer was so cute the little boy ran around whenever someone let go of him he kept running to people who he knew aswell ^_^

the father of the bride even bought a new convertable so that the bride would be able to get in easier and her hair wouldn't get squashed!! the one they had was a bit hard to get into with a huge dress. so they purchased a new BMW! with ribbons and little characters on the front too


everything was so beautiful ^_^ the location and scenery was simply amazing let alone the new couple's smiles ^_^


much later the reception was at a very nice hotel, Sheraton on the Park, in the Grand Ball room and with various bands, singers, and musicians!!

they had these HUGE photos, books of photos. they'd been organising this wedding for two years!! the photos were adorable ^_^ them dressed up and soooo cute goether ^_^ all bound and specially made!! they weren't printed like photos, more like... erm... big heavy... prints... ish lol!! can't explain but very professional and expensive looking!

a few times the bride had to go to change, then we would talk and eat.

the wedding cake had two smiling figures on top and when it came to cut the cake we found that the figures had the same clothing as the bride and groom!! so cute ^_^

having a powerpoint with pictures of them as kids and when they starting going out etc was really nice too ^_^

and the backdrop!! a HUGE black velvet piece with fairy lights!! DEFINATELY my favourite feature!!

the bride organised everything to perfection, the draped satin on tables and chairs, the little glass hearts as gifts, the hand written and calligraphied (sp? ) nameplates... each table had little jeweled candles and huge glass vases with tinted water and lots of large beautiful flowers in them ^_^ the places was stunning!!

even the playlists, speeches.... i'm sure i've missed a LOT of wonderful details but i thought i'd just post this quickly just to get it off my chest, it was AMAZING!!!

sorry about the jumbled and mixed text but yep, now you know about the wedding i went to

{EDIT: oh and for the dances, "Hot Stuff" and "Jump" came on, so i did a few moves I learnt from Waverley Small House Dancing *cringe* }

Not that amazing to some, but amazing to me!! I'd never have imagined it!! Thank you too EVERYONE!!! ^_^ I'm honoured ^_^

In terms of up coming work...

last night I was inspired to try something in paint and so started a random drawing of a piece of cloth, which turned into a scarf, which turned into a cloak, which turned into a cloak on a person, which turned into a person in a tattered cloak!!

Then I worked on it for a little while (impressing myself with my deligience) and then I copied it into photoshop so I could shade it. i'll put that up on sunday ^_^ it was obviously affected by the fact that i'm reading 'dracula' at the moment and it eventually turned into a version of hina harker... i'm only half into the book so i don't know if it's acurate, but we'll see ^_^

Neways, I'm still Heroes obsessed Incase you didn't know But now I've taken to quick 'artworks' while studying for testing week ie. screenshots + text

I'll do my best to do proper drawn stuff after this following week
Though my graphics tablet is still broken and doesn't seem to be fixing itself

Oh, and my internet still cutting out frequently and computer crashing a few times per day hehe ^_^ Don't worry, I'm getting a new computer very very soon ^_^

Oooh! and I just finished The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut. One point it makes is about people complaining bout stuff like, "You used me!!" but it points out that they should say 'thank you' coz wouldn't it be sad to pass away without being of use to someone? he he

Now in terms of what FUTURE art might be like?

Well I've considered turning emo, it sounds appealing to me, not the cutting bit, but the hair over face and black clothes bit and the music it just makes me smile ^_^ (that's why i've added some more darker coloured pictures) but i feel like i've already experience emo prejudice and lots of ppl don't like emos. so my question this month is... WHY?? Why don't ppl like emos? k, moving on...

HEROES!!! HEROES HEROES HEROES!!! Best show I am soooo in love with it!! Sylar and Mohinder are sooo hot!!!! Take a look at my favourites if you don't think they are They are terrific I wish I had photoshop 7.0 that way i too could make animated sylar dp's ^_^ *sigh* Zachary Quinto is MINE!!! i wish i wish...

Also want to make a 'LOTR: Abridged Version' and that'll come up later It'll be extremely short I promise you

I guess you can tell that time has sped by for me a little bit But I'm sure it'll slow down with tests and assignments now ack!!

I submitted a random comic (i drew it when I was bored a long time ago) to something called Webcomic Battles. I normally like to go and look at it and click on the funniest one but lately there haven't been many entries. Today there were NONE!!! So I thought, might as well The art isn't very good on it, i admit that, and it isn't the funniest thing in the world but still, there you go You can go look if you like... [link] maybe you can vote for it when it gets into the battles i don't know how it will be recieved depends on who it gets against i guess

Right, I've started to do fan art now and they turn out better (i think) I suppose I could do requests, contact me and ask anyway and we'll see I'm thinking Anasatia next, or perhaps Snow White As I said, we'll see

I have a request though I know hardly anyone reads these and that artists write these journals for time filling, but if anyone is good at portraits and wants to try Rudolf Martin? There's only one pic of him on this site, we need more!! ...moving on ^_^

I have paused with the comic because I haven't gotten back into it since I went on holidays and I don't want to force it. Beside, once I start again, perhaps some of my art will be better and I'll be more enjoyable to read ^_^

Hmm, well soon I'll have to slow down on drawing because of last year of school... should start studying... not just these holidays, i think i should've started studying a few years ago... but ah well, too late for wishing, better go fishing. in my case, fishin for results

Thanks to everyone for the welcome to the site and the encouragement for me to upload my things ^_^

I'll get round to drawing stuff and uploading stuff in about a week when all my tests, assignment and stuff are done!!

Can you believe that I don't normally draw and that this fascination with drawing happened... I don't know... A few days ago when drawing a picture for my friends birthday card?

I can't wait to spend my days drawing!! ^_^
