I've been neglecting DA for some time now. I think I'm having something like an artist's block or something similar. There are times when I fall apart. The days around the end of October and the beginning of November were particularly tough for me. I'm glad I at least pull myself together for work and don't let my emotions get over me then. I'm staying at home this weekend and I hope that I'll finally be able to draw/paint something that I think is worth uploading.

I haven't updated my journal for quite some time.
I feel a bit low and depressed at the moment.

I think I'll take Benji to my dad's and he's probably going to stay there. This is a very difficult decision to make. If he's with me I feel guilty for keeping him as my "prisoner of love", for not being able to provide the living conditions that he deserves. When I think about letting him stay with my dad I feel guilty for "abandoning" my baby.
I've been thinking about this for months actually. He's had a couple of "holidays" at my dad's and he seemed to be so happy there. There's a big garden, he loves to run around and enjoys his freedom very much. When He's at home with me he eats and sleeps and does nothing.
I sometimes leave the door open for him so he can have a walk in the staircase and one of my neighbours like him a lot, but there's Mufurc, a neighbour's cat who would like to be friends with him, but Benji starts hissing and growling at him and quickly runs back home.
Benji's often bored and I feel guilty when he's sitting at the window longing to go outside.

I'm almost finished witht he kiriban piece, I should upload it in the next few days. There's another collab I'm working on and once I'm finished with these I'd like to experiment with different techniques, topics, who knows what...

My teaching's going quite well, I get on really well with "my politician" as I jokingly refer to him sometimes. We get on well, he seems to be satisfied witht the classes I give and he's polite and friendly. I never really thought I would, but I actually like teaching.

I'm pretty busy nowadays with having gone back to university and with the teaching, but I hope I'll have time and the right mood for developing my drawing and painting skills. I should start working on my thesis as well, but I just don't feel like it :/

I'll try to do the painting she asked for in the next couple of weeks. Sometimes I do things ever so slowly and there are a couple of unfinished pieces I started weeks ago.

I'll stay at home with Benji this weekend so I can prepare for my new English classes. I'm going to teach English to a Hungarian undersecretary in the Parliament starting next Tuesday. I'm really nervous. The lessons start at 7 AM I'll have to get up really early three days a week and it's not the place where you can be late. I hope he's going to be OK... I don't really like politicians. The only thing I know about him is that he was born in 1977, so he's not too much older than me and the list of books he studied from.

I'll spend the next couple of days studying English books. I was given quite a few from the language school I teach at. Some of the books the guy studied from long ago and possible course books. I'm actually excited about all this.

As I'll be staying at home I hope I'll have time to work on some of my *small* unfinished paintings and some works for projects I wanted to participate in..

I will draw|paint a picture to anyone who catches my 25k kiriban and shows me a screen shot to prove it. (There are a few restrictions: no nudity, no blood, no violence etc. I'm not all that keen on doing Original Characters and max. 2 characters per picture. I don't really do anthro pictures, but this bit is negotiable.)

I'll try to pull myself together and paint something in the next couple of days.
I'm ever so slow and unmotivated these days. I re-read some of the comments I've written in the past couple of days and noticed that what I write often doesn't make sense. I start a sentence and then decide to re-formulate the sentence and I often leave words out or leave words in from what I meant to write originally. Silly me.

Benji now has a red collar with a little black bell. He's living with me and my mom and I take him with me when I go visit my dad. Benji loves to run around in the garden and loves climbing trees too.

I have left some hints that things weren't going too well in my personal life. My boyfriend/fiance died of cancer a week and a half ago. He was diagnosed around mid February, so it all happened kind of fast. I basically stopped commenting on journals. (there have been a few exceptions of course, my commenting has become more random.

I will have to start my life anew. I'm moving back home (I have a month to empty the flat we rented. The landlords have been real a-holes about the whole situation. I'm going to take back the internet modem some time soon in the afternoon, which means that I'll only have internet access when I go "home" to my mom's.

There's a lot to organize and I'll have limited internet time and access, so I'll probably give less response to your comments/works/journals.. sorry about that.

I stopped responding to comments and faves for Blue Bird..
I have mixed feelings about the piece. I dislike the colors and quality of the uploaded version. Peter liked the sketch version of the Blue Bird of Happiness that I had been planning to paint ever since I read about the Birds Club contest. I started working on the actual piece the day he died, so this bird has nothing to do with happiness for me. I wanted to dedicate the finished version to his memory, but I don't like the way the colors turned out after all.

I think me not having internet access at home (the flat I am now, although it doesn't feel like home anymore) is quite beneficial in some way. I've wasted quite a lot of time online as a way to pass time.

I don't know what's going to happen to me. I've had quite a sheltered life up until now. I guess I'll have to grow up, get a job and sort things out. I'm a bit worried about my future. Peter was my editor, I got my translation jobs through his connections and I don't know what's going to happen to the company we/he had. I don't know what's happening about the teaching job where I've been substituting him.

I also don't know what is going to happen to Benji. My mom's place is smaller than this place he's been brought up in. The original plan was for him to go to my dad's to the country, but he lives next to a main road and I wouldn't like Benji to be ran over.

So lots of changes, lots of uncertainties and lots of sadness for me.

I discovered a flea in Benji's fur a couple of weeks ago after he came back from being with his sister. I put on an anti-parasite collar on him that was supposed to be good against fleas and ticks and other parasites. A couple of days later as I was stroking Benji as he was sitting in my lap I saw a flea on his head, despite Benji wearing a collar. I took Benji to the vet and he gave Benji some medicine that you apply on the back of your pet's neck that gets rid of parasites. The vet was actually laughing at me for thinking that anti-flea collars would work..
Another important thing if you have a neutered Tom is to take it to the vet every once in a while /I don't know exactly how often I forgot to ask/ so the vet can
empty the cat's stink bladder, because if it gets too full it can get inflamed.

It's beautiful and snowy, but the cold/wind makes me shed tears all the time I go out, even if I wear sunglasses.

Tomorrow I'm going to teach my first English lesson in three years for a group of students. I'm a bit anxious about it. I'm actually substituting for someone this and next week, but I might sign a contract with a language school and might get regular teaching jobs. I actually have a diploma as an English and German teacher, but I never really thought about teaching at a language school. I'm a bit nervous. I'm going to teach a group of 4 and a group of 3 ADULTS and I'm a worryguts. They probably won't all attend my classes as they have a tendency of skipping classes and late cancellations.
A Methodology training course is going to be held on Saturday at this language school and I really should attend it, but I would like to get some rest over the weekend.

I'm glad I managed to finish Pretty Miss this week. There's another piece I started about a month ago. Every now and then I add a few brushstrokes to it, but I'm way too slow. I haven't had much time/energy lately as the my new term at the university started and I have more duties at home.

I think of this piece as a kind of a "sister" to Pretty Miss . Pretty miss was painted for me and "Gift" for my sister. I think I'd like to add a few more African animals to my gallery, but I don't know when it's going to happen.

I hope Spring will come soon. At least it's been a lot sunnier lately.

If I'd written this journal this morning it would have been a gloomy one.
The past week or two were stressy with my love having the flu and me looking after him, doing the cooking, cleaning, shopping, washing up alone. And the weather was appalling too with grey skies, lots of rain and it was cold. He's doing much better and today's been a sunny day.
I haven't had time or energy to draw/paint properly. If there hadn't been a contest deadline I probably wouldn't have finished either.

I'll go see my dad for the weekend. I'll probably take some pictures of snowdrops that grow in his garden. There's a small garden just across the road that has snowdrops in it. They cheered me up as I walked past by them. The little tits are already chirping and I hope Spring will come real soon although it's still the beginning of February. The days are slowly getting longer.

I started working on a piece last weekend. I'll probably finish it hopefully some time next weekish. Today I started preparations for a different piece, this time for a contest and the deadline is in a week or so, so it will have priority over the older one. Every now and then I go through my files and see that I have quite a few unfinished pieces.

I'll try to do more ACEOs in future. I'm not 100% pleased with the frog prince I did, so I'll try to improve my skills. I haven't been painting properly lately /probably since I did Green Tea Cat, which was quite long ago
Every time I start painting after a longish break I start getting worried about having forgotten how to paint.

Every now and then I have an urge to learn the lyrics of a song. This time it's "Stayin' Alive" by the Bee Gees. The last one was "American Pie" and I'm halfway through with that. I don't know why, but a couple of days ago Stayin' Alive came to my mind and I've been humming and singing it ever since.

I'll be gone 'til Sunday evening and I hope I'll do a lot of painting while I'm away.
I've been neglecting journals and replies lately. I'll hopefully have more time next week.

/I don't count doodling./ It's not that I don't have any ideas, it's just that I've been feeling a bit under the weather lately.

It's been very cold in Hungary for the past few weeks -5 to -10'C degrees and it's often gray and it's quite depressing. I'm so looking forward to Spring and warmth and longer days.

I actually have lots of plans about what I should be doing, but when I'm not feeling cheerful I can't do creative work.

My laptop was taken away last Friday and it was returned last night. Everything got wiped out and Windows got reinstalled. I was away for the weekend, so I didn't notice the lack of compi for a while, but by Sunday evening I couldn't stop thinking about compi. /Compi is the name of the laptop. I should probably write it with a capital c, but it's such an uncreative name../ I spent Sunday afternoon and Monday morning with cleaning and tidying things, so I got a lot of things done that I should've done long time ago.
Compi's return made me so happy. Now there's no msn, or yahoo messenger or any of these things on it, he's much faster too.

I joined and this month.

There are quite a few contests coming up in the various clubs I belong to and I love participating in contests. It's too bad that I should be working on my thesis.

Benji has grown a winter coat. He looks quite cute with it. Sometimes he looks as if he had a little mane and he looks a bit chubbier with all that fur. Of course he's shedding it very generously around the flat, despite regular combing and brushing.

It feels a bit odd to be a quarter of a century old.
December is the birthday season in my circle of friends and family.
My sister's birthday was yesterday, mine's today, a friends' is tomorrow, a cousin's on the 24th and my special one's on the 25th.
In Hungary we celebrate namedays. Both my mom and my sister are Evas, so their namedays are on the 24th.

I probably won't be active artisically till after Christmas. I have lots of plans for personal pictures and thank you gifts for others, but I'll probably finish and post them rabdomly next year.

I was determined to write a happy journal. I've been happy all morning, happy to finally get enough sleep and I have time to do creative work.. And then I got an sms> The Chinese Democracy album I've been waiting for about 10 years has arrived to the music store and I could go an pick it up.
Yay! Happyness overdrive.
I've been a Guns N' Roses fan for most of my life *from the age of 8* and I've always loved their music. I got to see their live performance in 2006 and was incredibly happy despite their being 3 hours late.
Today I could finally get my hands on Chinese Democracy. The first time I heard about Chinese Democracy was in 1998 I think and I've heard about release dates nearly every year, sometimes more often.

So I bought the record and was happy as Larry. My enthusiasm lasted about 15 minutes after I started listening to it. At the moment I think it's overrated /it got 4 stars out of 5 by Rolling Stone magazine* overproduced and well I don't like it much.

It's not like I was unfamiliar with the music. I've heard leak versions of 4-5 songs, heard live performances and I unfortunately prefer the bad quality live versions to the new high quality album.
It's not a total dissappointment, but if I was a kid now I probably wouldn't become a fan. I miss some simplicity. This is not the band I "fell in love with".

I don't usually write about the music I like or dislike, but I just had to get it out of my system.
I might actually grow to like it /it happened with other CDs before/.

Now some good news:
*I have time to paint > I should do creative work
*Benji's ears are finally ok, no problems with them
*It's snowing
*My presentation went well and I handed in my essay on time

I'm a little bit sad and dissapointed at the moment, but I'll get over it soonish. *hopefully anyway*

I had some translation works coming in which usually makes me quite happy, but because of these jobs I haven't been able to finish my essays yet.
The more I should concentrate on essays the more I feel like drawing and painting.

There's still problems with Benji's ears /I've been to the vet's with him today/ and from tomorrow on I'll have to clean one of his ears with q-tips and some medicine with aloe vera twice a day. I have my worries. I stopped giving him ear drops the week before last and hoped his ears were going to be 100% all right, but one ear still has problems. The ear drops can't be used for ever and the longer his medication process went on the more fed up he became..

I basically just wrote this journal to apologise for my lack of activity. I'll try to answer messages and comment on your works later on. Thanks for understanding.

I'm tring to improve my people drawing/painting skills. What I'm trying to achieve is someting like realistic manga style that is closer to realism, but has manga characteristics.. I'm practicing that at the moment..
I bought a book on portraying people a couple of weeks ago, but I only went through the pages, haven't tried out shading techniques and such. I'm very excited at the moment.
I want to type fast and make lots of typos and have to go back and correct them.
During the break I also have to write 2 essays, but at the moment I want to concentrate on improving my art.

I need to doodle more and sketch more and paint more. Don't worry, I won't spam my gallery with every doodle I make.

I'll have to take Benji to the vet's office later in the afternoon /it's 12:46 in Hungary at the moment./ He will hopefully get a final ear cleansing. I took him to vet's last Friday and this Monday and hopefully today will be the last time. He has to receive ear drops again, but he's quite used to it now. I hope all his ear problems will be over soon.

I did bits here and there, half an hour every now and then, but then there were days when I didn't do one stroke..
I spent about 2 hours on it today and about two thirds of the bird is done. So I can basically repeat myself yet again that I hope to finish it within a few days..

I started doing my morning stretches again, I feel much better when I do them. Unfortunately Benji usually interferes and wants to be petted instead. I started doing just stretches between my half an hour concentrated painting bits too and that feels good too. I keep on planning going out to the park and take pictures of autumnal landscapes and trees as they're so full of colors this time of the year, but I keep delaying it.

The other good news is that I'm feeling a great deal better. I was still feeling ill on Saturday, but Sunday was better and I didn't feel too bad today either. My mom told me that one's mood plays an important role in falling ill, so I'm trying to be cheerful and get even better soon. Last night was the first night in the bast 4-5 days when I didn't have breathing difficulties and my nose wasn't blocked. I hope I'll sleep well tonight too.

The grape harvest of at my godmother's vineyard was re-scheduled to last Friday, so I couldn't go there, but I was quite relieved to find out.

I temporarily gave up on the piece I've been working on. I just put it into my file of unfinished paintings.. they're piling up slowly.

I have a lot to read /about a book and 2 plays a week /so I don't really have much free time. I've also been under the weather as well although the weather is getting better around here.. I have a sore throat and been resting and reading the past 2 days.

I visited a 2 day Anime Con with ~asdafu. It was quite fun, but I left my camera home the first day and didn't manage to take many pictures on Sunday either. I met a few deviants in person, but my people's skills are not the best with people I don't really know I keep on meaning to send in entries for the drawing contests of the Hungarian Anime Society, but I never do it..
maybe next Spring.
I met two very talented artists and whose works look incredible in person. Their galleries are worth a visit.

I'll try to get better soon and try to be more active art-wise. It's not like I don't have any ideas, it's just lazyness and tiredness and I've been awfully cold the past couple of days and my weekends have been busy too and then this coming weekend I'll be probably going harvesting grapes at my godmother's wineyard...

From time to time I get notified that I have new watchers. I'm always a bit puzzled when I see people starting to watch me without a comment a fave or anything that would indicate that they are actually interested in my work.. These people usually come and go..
Do you also have people who "watch you" and not give you any kind of feedback? Maybe it's just me who's concerned about it..

Today's been a long day and I'm not feeling particularly well. I have a headache and a slight temperature.

I'm currently working on a piece that is different from my usual paintings both in theme and in colors. I don't know if it'll work out at all, we'll see.

I haven't done any painting over the weekend.
I visited my dad and I was saddend by the sight of poor swallows flying in the sky looking for food. There had been a sudden change of weather. 2 weeks ago it was hot and summery and I swam in the lake and then last week the temperature dropped 10 C degrees in one day. It's been pretty cold ever since. It's been raining a lot and there was hardly any sun..

This change of weather was too sudden and the swallows haven't left to Africa. They've been flying around in search of food all in vain as it's too cold for the small insects they feed on to come out. Swallows don't feed on the ground, so they can't even be fed. This effects tens of thousands of swallows. They're getting weaker each day as they waste their energy flying about, searching for food. The only thing that could save them would be the weather turning good again really soon. I pray for Indian Summer to come, but there isn't much hope unfortunately

I'm surprised to find that nothing much has changed since my subscription expired. I guess I didn't know what the new version of DA was exactly like, because I was still subscribed when the changes came. I thought I wouldn't be able to see the deviations as thumbnails and the answering system is great too. I'm really happy about it. I don't mind the adverts.

I haven't had enough sleep this week. Always busy doing something. Taking Benji to the vet's going to the Students' Office early in the morning, queueing up.. I have to get used to not sleeping as much as I like, like I did during Summer.

I'm feeling a bit low. I started a painting a couple of days ago and I could've finished it about 2 days ago.. and I had a little accident during painting. I spillet 2/3 of liquid watercolor on my desk and myself, because I was clumsy and tired. It felt so bad. I probably overreacted, but I felt it was such a big thing. The paint's not particularly expensive and I was only wearing my pyjamas, but it was still a horrible experience. The only funny bit was that I kind of looked like a cow with brownish patches all over my lower body.
I'll hopefully be in a better mood tomorrow and will finally finish the portrait. I did a bit of painting today, but I was worried about ruining it as I didn't feel like painting..

Hopefully today was the last day that I had to give eardrops to Benjamin. I don't like giving him medicine, although I know it's good for him and the procedure was getting less and less problematic and getting more efficient thanks to the advice I was given from

There was so much work to do at my dad's:
-picking almonds /I climbed up the almond tree first with a bag and hand picked a couple of bagfuls, then the rest had to be beaten down with a stick and the almonds had to be collected from the ground. /I actually did 2 trees and mom and dad did another tree and there's 2 more to come that we'll do probably this coming weekend.
-peeling almonds
-making home-made ketchup and tomato juice for drinking and cooking
/ that required washing up bottles and jars, cutting up tomatoes, mom did the cooking and dad made tomato purée
-watering the garden.. It rained on Saturday, so it wasn't too bad.
/to be honest my dad did and does loads more work, but I only listed the work that I've done.
I climbing trees. /I forgot to mention it in my ID

Benji now has to go on a diet. While I was away at dad's, Benji stayed at Mirci's place and Mirci's owner left the two cats under the care of a friendly neighbour of hers. This cat loving lady left out so much food for the two cats that my greedy Benjamin ate too much and now has a biggish belly. He was picked up Sunday night and to my great surprise he wasn't hungry Monday morning, which is extremely rare for him. Now he's getting a bit less food and I'm trying to make him "work out" a bit more.
He's been so friendly and loving lately

Hopefully I'll upload something soonish I'm really looking forward to doing something for myself

I might not be able to upload any of them however, as my friend, the author of the children's books, is afraid of art thieves. I'm slowly improving with my linearts. To me that's the most tense part of illustrations.
Once I've re-designed all the characters and finished a couple of sample pages I shall finally work on personal pieces
I'm really looking forward to them, although I don't have any set plans.

Tomorrow's going to be a national holiday, celebrating the foundation of Hungary. There will be fireworks, a craft fair, and air display.. I'm not really happy about the latter as there have been aeroplanes flying all day long in the past 4-5 days which really gets on my nerves. They're really loud and to me somewhat frightening too, even though my country hasn't been at war during my lifetime and I didn't experience any bombing, but the sound is really unsettling..

I was really happy to find out that came second at 's Close-ups contest.

My subscription will expire in 3 weeks, so I'll feature while I can. If you see any contest where traditional arts are accepted and subscriptions can be won, I'd be really glad if you notified me

I started working on another illustration piece and I noticed that I was getting very tense and irritable.. all of a sudden the sound of an old computer, the sound of typing, Benji lying on my drawing table was extremely frustrating.. I locked Benji out of the room and after a while the tension went eventually..

I had my first experience of painting on canvas yesterday. At the moment I don't like using any other paints but watercolors. I hate the thought of wasting paint. And I wasn't happy with the speed either..

After the unfruitful canvas painting attempt I started painting a watercolor piece. I'm finished with the background and I quite like the way it looks so far. I hope I'll finish it tonight and I can submit it before I leave.

Friday is my mom's birthday, we're going to celebrate it at my dad's so from Thursday afternoon I'll be gone for a few days.
I probably won't be active for a few days after that as the internet at my dad's is not really reliable. At least it doesn't like DA. There's almost always problems, it logs me out automatically, I can't reply properly..

Due to the changes in Da and the new version coming, some of the deviations that I couldn't check out and messages and replies and journals dissappeared from my message center that were sent between last Wednesday night /CET/ and last Saturday. Sorry about not replying to those. I guess it has something to do with the new version. Has any of you encountered such errors

After a few rainy days it's finally sunny around here which makes me happy

I'll be going to visit my dad for a couple of days and then I'll be cat sitting for a couple of days, so I probably won't be back properly till Sunday.

I finally have some work again, which is great news for me, so I've been less active lately. There's an experimental cat picture that I haven't finished in 2 weeks. It's more than 90% done, so I'd like to finish it during the day if I can overcome my present lazyness.

Benji's been like a little kitten lately. He's very sweet, playful and purrs a lot. And is asleep most of the time. He sleeps in all kinds of weird positions

I kind of started going on a diet. There are no strict rules or anything, I just eat a bit less, chew my food more, avoit white chocolate and sugary stuff and eat more fruits. I drink more mineral water and herb teas too. I started doing excercises again. I don't want to loose much weight, maybe 1-2kg maximum.
I'm looking forward to dad's peaches.

I'm pretty happy, although I do get moody every now and then.

Happy Birthday !

Today's her birthday and I'd like to feature some of her great tiger pictures:



As some of you have noticed I uploaded a picture of a red panda that was taken by my sister. Yesterday my sister and I went through the pictures she had taken and out of the 280 pictures she took there were only about 70 I thought I could use as references.. /she took more pictures than that originally, but some were deleted on the spot.
I was really surprised. I thought taking pictures was easier.. Sometimes it's too dark if you're indoors and using flash would disturb the animals, sometimes the sun's too bright, other times the fences are in the way or the glass is not clean enough...
I probably won't upload many more zoo pictures, as they were not taken by me, but I'd like to use them later on. We'll see.

I couldn't access my DA account all day long till now. I was getting so worried. It's not just that I couldn't log in, but when I tried to check out my gallery without logging in a page kept coming up saying Internal Server Error. I tried checking out the galleries of some of my friends and they worked.. but when I tried to look for my deviations among their favourites I could only look at the thumbnails, because whenever I clicked on the image the Internal Server Error page came up..
When I tried to login it kept saying invalid pasword..

I'm so glad things are back to normal.

I've been to the Budapest Zoo with my sister and I asked her to take pictures for me, so I could use them as references later.
She has a better camera than the one I use which is actually my mom's..
It was a great experience. The Red Pandas were my favourites, but the Flamingos were beautiful too. I didn't know that flamingo babies kind of look like cygnets.. I did feel very sorry for Chimpanzees and some Rhinos that looked somewhat miserable..
One of my sister's friends happens to work at this zoo and we bumped into him and he was very helpful, told us a few interesting things about the zoo and some stories about some animals.
One of the Penguins, little Philip /Fülö.pke/ somehow managed to sneak out of the zoo last year and he was found at the trolley bus stop the next morning while a tramp was talking to him, trying to explain something to the penguin..

I might upload a few pictures thta my sister took on thursday.

It's been incredibly hot here lately well above 30'C degrees, which is a bit much..

I wrote my British history exam today. I haven't slept much lately, but I started working on a drawing that I started a couple of months ago. It might have been the end of last year actually I was so happy to be able to work on art things again, no worrying about exams, no urgent studying.

I noticed that I haven't drawn anything "proper" in almost half a year This is the last one I did [link]
I spent 2-3 hours on it today. I think I'll probably finish it tomorrow. I'm too tired for now, I'm afraid I'd ruin it.

I had problems with my computer the past two days. A program called "Antivirus 2008" appeared yesterday and it looked just like a windows product.. the layout, the colors, the icons looked like microsoft products. It said that my computer was under great threat, it found 44 spy programs, viruses, cookies and that my antivirus protection was critically low and that there was no antivirus protection. /I do actually have an antivirus program, so it surprised me, and I got suspicious..
I tried to scan it with my antivirus program and it couldn't be scanned. Every hour and more often "Antivirus 2008" would come up with some message.. I deleted it a couple of times.. I clicked on uninstall, nothing happened. Today I phoned a computer expert friend who set up my computer and he told me to type in some code somewhere /I'm really not a computer wiz And then told me not to touch anything and he took control of the computer. It was quite a strange experience to see someone mork on the computer and the computer following all sorts of instruction that that guy gave on HIS computer.. I felt so insecure afterwards.. any hacker could just take over my computer

But now the problem's solved, the computer guy removed the virus and I'm happy as Larry I'm full of plans, I want to try out new things, new methods, topics, materials..
I feel really happy at the moment.

I hope I'll win a subscription with one of my entries in various contests..
And maybe I'll eventually get the subscription that I'd won. It's only been 1 1/2 months since I won it theoretically..

I haven't been able to spend much time doing artwork. Yesterday I was doodling a bit. I think I'll spend the rest of the day trying to get some sleep.

I was going to visit my dad on Friday, but he asked me to go tomorrow /so I probably won't have time to do anything, plus I'll have to catch an early train
I probably won't be active till next Monday after my exams, but I'll try come online in the meantime if it's possible.

I don't know if I should give up on my subscription or not. The last promise that I would get it within a week was 10 days ago.. It's frustrating.. there's nothing I can do about it.
I have no idea when I'll do the features

With the end of the month I will get the results of the few contests that I entered.. /I think you probably noticed that I quite like entering contests Maybe I enter a little too many.

I'm somewhat sad that almost half the clubs that I belong to are rarely active, totally inactive or dead

It's very sunny here in Hungary at the moment. It was 30'C degrees hot out there as I came home from the exam and it was still morning.. I'm looking forward to having lots of strawberries at dad's. They taste so much better than the ones you can buy in shops.

I started painting more pieces since, but I either deserted them, or I wasn't satisfied with the outcome. I have a slight depression I think and I don't really know why.. I don't really feel like doing anything. I do force myself to do some cleaning and tidying every day or something that could be called work, but I just don't do them wholeheartedly. I should start preparing for my exams /I only have 2 this term, which isn't much/ but I just can't seem to make myself study. I feel slightly guilty about my present state. I haven't had work coming in for more than a month now and school ended, so I have stags of free time and I just waste it.. I know I'm spoilt, but I feel just bored. I lack motivation. If I don't get pushed I don't do things

I tried writing lists of duties to do every day, but I keep forgetting them.

I will probably be able to feature the people I promised to feature sometime soon as I was promised to get my subscription soon, within a week, which is good news.

I was wondering if you could write some tips what to draw/paint next.. maybe that would inspire me to do something.

I'm probably getting old. I'm only 24 but I think I was the oldest in this group. I don't really understand why people go to university to study German when a, they don't speak the language, or very poorly.. b, when they don't want to learn anything and don't participate during lessons...

I think the Hungarian education system is definitely getting worse..
I noticed with fellow English students that they're just not interested. Not interested enough to pretend that they prepared for lessons by any means.
There's a literature teacher who gives her all to give good lectures, you can see that she loves her subject, she's incredibly well learnt and wise, but she's very modest, helpful and lenient and easy going and she teaches poetry among other subjects. We have to read a poem a week, which is not really much... last week out of the twenty something people who attend the class, there were only 4 who showed up with the text of Shelley's Ode to the West Wind.. The teacher just went silent for a few seconds then she sent someone to photocopy her text to the rest of the people..
I just don't understand people.. why do people take advantage of easy going people.. I mean how long does it take one to look up and print out a poem off the internet..

I'm writing this rant about today's students in Hungary, because of today's presentation I gave. I was given a partner who did not have any clue about the film, she said she didn't understand what the hell was going on, so she and I worked based on the notes I took and the ideas that I came up with.

This week is the last week of term before the exam period starts, so people were given their grades today. Some people who gave shitty presentations were silent all through the course actually had the nerve to ask the teacher why they were only given a 4 (that's the second best grade in Hungary) I just don't understand people who have no shame.

It's been more then a month now since the contest that I participated in should have theoretically ended and I haven't heard anything about the subscription that I have theoretically one for more than two weeks... I'm getting a bit fed up with waiting.
I may sound rude and I know people can have personal problems, but why does one hold a contest promise subscriptions if they can't keep their promises.. in time...

I've had a bad day, got up too early, worked too hard for something that wasn't really worth my efforts

I wanted to write a rant about Daily Deviations, how a person who's only been on DA for 4 days got 2 DD-s already.. I thought there was a rule that the same person would only get a DD after like 3 months or so. I forgot where I read this, but maybe I'm wrong. I know it's not the people's faults, because they don't ask for DDs, and I'm not saying that the deviations weren't good, but this 2 DDs almost in a row is just weird.. I think gallery directors should be more careful about their DD choices, about the subjects /I'm talking about a sketch that was featured about 3 days ago, that I didn't like but when I checked out the artist's gallery there were so many things of better quality.. and how often one gets featured.. I wanted to go to further detail, but I'll have to go to my next class.
I don't know if my blabbering makes sense or not..

I started appreciating good weather a lot more recently as the weather had been so appalling lately.. lots of strong, cold wind, clouds, rain.. On Wednesday it rained as I went to school, it was a bit sunny when I left college and there was a small hail storm after I got home...

I'm at my dad's at the moment at the lake with a slowish internet connection, so I probably won't be doing too many things online.

I love good weather. I feel so much happier. I have a lot of plans to do in the next few days and weeks and a few pictures to finish. There's a Cat series picture that could've been finished last Sunday, but there's a final touch missing... I'll probably upload it tomorrow or the next day. I don't have my paints with me, but I have a sketch pad.
I'd like to enter two contests in the near future here on DA and I'm very excited as always, I'd love to win a subscription. I have plans for both of them and made a sketch for one already for the contest with the closer deadline.

Benji spends the weekend with her sister. My dad asked me when I'll first introduce Benji to him. I'm a bit worried about it as my dad lives next to the main road at a popular holiday resort and my previous cat, Jonás was ran over... A by-pass road should have been built by last June but it finally might get built soon. It was first said to be finished by last June, then last December, now it's this April (I know it's April already), but they say it's almost finished now..
I'm sure that Benji would love the garden, but I'm quite worried..

As I was taking Benji to Mirci's place (it takes about 15-20 minutes) he was crying almost all the way through. On both trams I was sitting next to catty people. One of them asked me: "What's the name of your cat?" I said "it's Benjamin".. And then she asked " Is it a he or a she?" I thought the name Benjamin was pretty obviously a boy's name..


A little more about Spring:
Lots of flowers are in bloom, some tulips, daffodils, forget-me-nots, violets, daisies, and many other flowers, but I don't know their English names.. Also almond, cherry and peach trees are blooming too. I wish I had taken my camera with me, but I was carrying a lot of things anyway..

There will be an Anime Con in 2 weeks and I'm very excited

I've been somewhat less active on DA lately, and I actually don't mind it. I'll still try to keep up with your deviations and your journals as well.
The past two weeks were rather bad for me artistically, everything I tried I messed up.. I've been working on a piece for 4 days already when I realised the base sketch was actually bad and I gave up.. I'll definitely do the kiriban related piccies, but I don't know when I'll be able to do them.. sorry for the delay

I finally got some work, which is great news since I've been brokeish lately. And I'll have lots of expences next month like new ID card, new passport and there'll be an anime con in April

Benji was neutered this Monday. He was very groggy for a day and was sick 5-6 times afterwards. He looked so vulnerable. A lady at the vet's said that he'd soon "loose his voice", would stop crying after neutering as her tom cat did. Well, she was wrong. Benji was rather quiet during Monday, I thought he was never going to say "meow" again, but as I mentioned his name at feeding time he started meowing just like he used to. He was still sleepy and recovering from the operation on Tuesday. He had returned to his usual self since Wednesday. He cries, he moans and he begs for food. I have to be very firm with him, so he doesn't grow fat as neutered toms tend to, but it's not easy.
According to the vet he's not greedy, it's just a form of communication.. /yeah right.. /
He's been a lot calmer since the neutering and I'm very happy about that.

I started taking drawing lessons this week and from now on I'll have lessons twice a week.
I've only been to one lesson so far, so I can't really tell what it's going to be like. I hope I'll improve

FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE CATS IN FLATS

I'd really appreciate if you could give me some tips for cheering up cats. Benji often gets frustrated and keeps crying, mostly in the evening and sometimes during day time. I think he's probably bored and probably sexually frustrated, He is about 7 and a half months and he is yet to be neutered. Last weekend he tried to mate with Mirci, his sister while he stayed at her place. And he sometimes bites me and mock-attacks me.
I wanted to have him neutered around mid February, but the vet says that he was too small for that and he should be neutered when he's 7 months old. I told the vet that Benji actually is 7 months old according to his *the vet's* calculations, but he said I should wait a month or so.. This week the vet's doing some kind of training, so Benji's neutering will be delayed till some time next week.
Every now and then I play "catch the silver ball" with him which means I throw a ball made of silver foil that he sometimes chases and I throw it from the living room to the hall and then from the hall to the living room. He sometimes enjoys it and sometimes even returns the ball in his mouth like a dog.. But I do that about twice a day for about 5-10 minutes, but then he'll start "crying" soon after..

So, I was wondering if you could give me some tips concerning entertaining cats.

A few weeks ago I thought Spring was coming, but it's cold again

Benji's such a big boy now, he's grown so much! And he's a lot heavier too, but he's stll a lap-cat and he purrs a lot. He has to get eardrops twice a day, which is not much fun as I have to wrestle with him every time and he can get quite fierce, so he gets wrapped up in a towel.. and then he runs away, then I have to catch him.. and this goes on and on..

I hope Spring will come soon, I'm looking forward to warm, sunny days

But every now and then I have a little or longer break after an hour or two when I start doing something, usually sit in front of the computer or start walking up and down in the flat. But this break is my feel good period. I feel so happy. I haven't ruined my piece yet, I keep glancing at it, it's going well, I don't have to concentrate and I can feel the tension streaming out of my body.
It's almost as good a feeling as the one I have after being finished with a piece, although that changes as I often decide to do just little alterations.
I'm just sitting grinning in front of the computer thinking how life is good and how happy I am living in a democracy, there's no war and I'm not hungry and I have a home and a companion.

I watched a few DVDs in the past few days and one of the films I've seen was Blood Diamond. It's a very upstirring movie, very dramatic, but I think the ending was kind of ruined. I don't recommend it to anyone who is sensitive to violence and injustice and cruelty.

The other film I watched was Underworld.
A film about vampires and lycons (werewolves)
It's one of the crappiest films I've ever seen with incredibly bad acting, bad dialogues, a bad script... It was shot in Hungary so it gave me some pleasures as I discovered different locations in Budapest, my home city.

Benji's happily asleep on the couch after having parted from his sister Mirci who came 'round for the weekend. Mirci was quite nervous yesterday and didn't want to play with him which was upsetting to Benji and he kept making moaning sounds. She often hissed at him and he slept in her carrying basket. Today they slept next to each other with and she was a lot more at ease. It's strange that Benji gets used to Mirci's place a lot quicker. He feels at home there just after an hour.

I had a lovely year here on Deviant Art and I'd like to spend many more years here. I've found very nice people, friends, watchers, people to watch and a nice community.
I wanted to write a journal yesterday, but I only came back late.

I don't really know what to write about my Da Birthday.. I was thinking about summing up the year I spent here.. I gained friends and lost some and found others and so on.

I'm almost finished with a picture I started a couple of days ago and I hope I'll be able to upload it soon.

I'm sorry about not having replied to most journals you've written for a week.

I'll probably be away for the weekend visiting my parents /that depends on the railway people whether they'll be still on strike or not/ so I won't be properly back till next week but I'll try to comment and check out your deviations

I was quite worried about this exam, because it was said to be a tough one, the oral part of a rather difficult English profficiency exam. And I was so relieved afterwards.

My next exam's on Friday, so I have a little more freetime again. I'll try to finish things I've started, but at the moment I'm still too overexited to do anything..

I was tagged by So I shall do this type of tag yet again, but NOT ANYMORE!. I'm not annoyed about it, but I don't like producing 6 or 8 "interesting" things about myself.. I don't want to be repetitive, so no more tags like this. I'm not tagging anyone.

SO, 6 "interesting" or "weird" things about me.

The rules:
The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "6 weird habits/things/hates about yourself" and people who get tagged MUST write a journal about their 6 weird habits/things/hates as well as state this rule clearly. 1., I hate people who add me to their watch list and don't give any kind of feedback. I tend to ignore those people after a while.

2., I have a special tone of voice to call my cat before meals and when I say his name in this tone of voice he immediately comes to me, starts meowing and expects to get something to eat.

3., I have a slight American accent, because I used to watch Cartoon Network a lot when I was a kid /before it got dubbed into Hungarian/

4., I never listen to the radio. /Except when someone turns it on and I can't do anything about it. I don't have anything against radios or whatever.../

5., I've been a Guns N' Roses fan since the age of 8.

6. I'm quite prudish, I get embarrassed by nudity, I don't like to comment on nudes and I think they're far too overrepresented here at DA.

I noticed that I'm using colors and things that are not really typical of me, so I felt a bit like a copy cat, and it made me feel low.
It's going to be a surprise picture. I'm afraid of ruining it and also about the person not liking it, or misunderstanding it.

I should be finished in a day or two. And after Thursday's exam I can start relaxing and have more free time.
I hate it that on the day of the exam my stomach gets upset and I have diarrhoea *hasmene's* and I get very tense.

I deleted my last deviation. I never should've submitted it in the first place, but later I decided to remove it.. I wanted to do something for the end of the year
Well, sorry about it...

My exam period recently started, so theoretically I shouldn't be particularly active.

It's snowing and tomorrow I should go sledging. I got some snow for Benji to play with in the bathroom. He was very excited about it. The first snow he's ever seen. Since then he's been trying to get out and he's been generally a bit restless since Mirci's gone..
I'm thinking about buying him a lead and taking him for walks around the green areas, but I don't know if it's a good idea

I started watching Lady Oscar /that's a pretty old anime/ in German again, like I did when I was little. It's a bit overdramatic, but it brings back nice memories and I can pracitce my German

That means lots of fun for Benji and lots of cat fights, cat chases, possible destruction to me. There is a lot of jumping and meowing going on. Benji always misses her and tries to wrestle with me after they part, so in the next few days I might be able to make progress with the things I started working on as the cats are rather busy with each other when they're together.

I went through my pictures and discovered a really cute photo of her that I'm going to upload.
