Well after having a long and frustrating day at work and with friends and ex-friends and whatnot, I come home and I am surprised to see a tube that normally holds posters and whatnot. I open it up to find out there is a 16x16 print on the inside, and its gorgeous. Don't know who bought this for me but its a very nice gift.

Made my day. :ahoy:

On other news

I installed windows 7 and got my friends computer up and running. Pretty good weekend with Halloween. Stuck my face in Jello diving for plastic rats watching my friend drink a mixed drink of tater sauce, hot sauce, and who knows what else.

My net is so slow, that is why I haven't been uploading much at all recently. Been busy with work as well. My photography internship is ending in about 4 weeks and I should have some great works coming out and joining my portfolio soon. I'd like to see a calender in my future, if I can find my old calender template.

Just got done editing paper shots so they should be uploaded sometime soon.

2 Days ago I was informed that I had gotten a photography internship at The Group Publishing. Its a great chance to figure out how digital workflows on a corporate level work. I will be assisting with shoots as well as archiving and tagging shots. I will be working hands on with high end equipment and a hobby lobby supply closet of set items. And the best part, its paid.

I haven't had any spare money to put into getting a subscription to dA, but that still won't stop me from asking what everyone else has been up to. If you read this, drop me a line and tell me something about you or what has happened in your life over the last few days.

Well, the job that I got a few weeks ago is going well. I just got transfer'd to optics so now I'm working hands on with great cameras such as the d300 and the 5D. Can't wait to get my discount. :D

Nothin' new really 'cept I bought the wrong wire for my camera so it will be a while before I get some decent Long Exposure shots. Uninspired really, might look into hdr as well. There isn't too much to shoot around the area that I'm at so I'd have to travel a bit to find anywhere good. Any ideas on where to go? Once I found out about a job I applied and interview'd 3 times for and start getting to work an making some money, I'll have more for everyone.

So, I've had my new Sony a350 dslr since the 3rd and its been great! I am in the process of editing my shots and organizing them. Working full time all the time means there isn't too much time for me to go out and shoot, but I am getting laid off and should be done by next Wednesday. Go me! I hate this job =)

On another note, I hate version 6 of dA. It seems too jumbled and unorganized even though their goal was to redesign and make it more efficient, I believe they took it in the wrong direction. Dunno how many others agree with me or disagree, this is just my opinion. I do wish there was an option to change back to v5 but since there's not there's no point in ranting any more. Jus' gotta deal I guess.

On another note, I was gipped out of the government stimulus check, 'cuz I was claimed as a dependent. "Free government money? No thank you! I'll do bitchwork for my money, thank you very much."

Weak. Anyways, I got my new job at the end of April and I've been saving a lot, which would have taken me over a year to save up at my other job. So within my next paycheck and working the Greeley Stampede Festival, I'll have enough to get my camera. I should have around 1000 to spend.

=kkart suggests that I go for the Sony a350 Body with a 50mm f1.7. He says the 18-70 which is the kit lens and comes with it and the 75-300 for a start are some lenses I should look into buying. He also says that I could could replace the 75-300 and get a 70-210 F4 for about 200 and that it is an incredible lens. I trust him but would love others opinions as well.

Holy cow, tornado that hit windsor colorado did some serious damage. check out [link] for more information. i was working in greeley right off of hw 85 and was about 10 miles away at like 11:30. the tornado that hit windsor hit about 11:52 - 11:58 and i am lucky it didn't hit home.

N e w s !

Well, the story goes, I was helping my co-worker who happened to be female, unload a sod-cutter from the back of this trailer.

Sounds simple right? Well, this thing weighs more then 250lbs and the way that I've always gotten it off is by tilting the

trailer up and easing it down using gravity. Not this time. She ended up smashing her hand by the hitch and now has to wear

a cast. It is not entirely my fault though. There is this guy named Dave. He is the saftey coordinator of the park and he was

watching us do this, all the while critizing us and pretty much calling us dumbasses.

Its not until after she gets hurt that he decides to help us out. "Work smarter, not harder", "I was young once too", "I

didn't get gray hairs on my head by not being a dumbass".Not really helping Dave. She is alright, although she won't let

me compensate her for what happened. I feel guilty but oh well. On the other hand, Dave is in a load of trouble.

After repeating the story a few times to certain people, we are both getting compensation for what happened. So I ended up

making a girl cry, for money. lol

Well, after a long 2 months time, I finally got a job. 7 - 3:30 so we'll see how tired I will be after the first two weeks.

I am starting another piece using my own stock flower going along a theme sorta based off of my most popular devation. Should be done soon.

I thought about it and I realized that my first vector / vexel work ended up to be magenta instead of red. My second one turned out to be Cyan and bam thats when it hit me. I should finish the series right?

Well, I feel like an asshole now. I have done what I never thought I would do. I have been makin' wallpapers and mostly using *PAULW's brushes and I can't believe I didn't credit him. I changed all that, removed all my prints, 'cuz they wern't totally mine. I have apologized for what I've done. Hope he understands that I meant to use his brushes in the best way. Again, everythings been fixed and hopefully things will be alright now.

Working on like 5 different projects right now and I dunno if I can find the motivation to finish them. Oh well, should be done soon hopefully.

Spring break is now over and this week and I'd like to go do more shooting. The word given for my class is 'Tainted', which I have some good ideas for, wish I had the money for a good camera. Where has all the inspiration/motivation in my life? I used to make good wallpapers and now it seems like I have lost my touch. Is it because I have run dry? Is it my life style? Games I play, people I talk to? Would like people to send me what they want me to make. Give me something to do, maybe in this I can find some inspiration/motivation.

I want your opinion on pictures I could use for my "portfolio" for my photography class. I know they aren't the best, but I haven't done much photography and I also do not have the greatest of cameras. Post on which pictures you think are best, I need at lease 5 heavily edited ones, 5 unedited ones, and 5 more of any kind. I need at least 15 minimum so please help me out, tell me which ones you like the best or which ones I could make better.

I made my calender comprised of all my digital art in my gallery. Pieces ranged from the wallpapers to ads I've done for people, to personal pieces. I might put some pictures up. Might make some more copies if anyone is interested in buying one.

I have started on working on music note brushes, including Quarter Notes, Eighth Notes, Half Notes, and there will be many more. Should be out shortly. ^^

Art theft is becoming a problem when I did not think it would. Got this link from =kkart's journal and thought I would share it with you as well as another link. Facebook stealing?

I had another piece used without my consent and if this happens again I am going to be forced to put watermarks on all my stuff even though I don't want to. So please do not use my stuff as your stuff.

This site had my art, as well as many others and ~Stickfishies-Stock notified me. I have the information as how to contact the admin of the web-hoster but as I checked the site today, the url changed and I am no longer able to find my brushes. I also don't know how to check so they might still be up there. Hopefully this problem will resolve shortly and that they will remove all works from their site or at least give credit to the due artist.

The last photography class I had wasn't that great and my shots for the word 'strong' pretty much sucked. I won't be uploading them since they weren't all that good. Might put one in scraps. The next weeks word is 'Vanity'. If you can help me think of anything to take shots of that would also be great. I am thinkin' of taking pictures of people lookin' in the mirror and seeing a better outlook of themselves but I am not a very good profile shot shooter so any advice is welcome!

Well well well, long time no update. Finally got a subscription, thanks to my friend. It is actually payment for the poster I made for him, the 4-2 Gang Poster. Finally getting the hang of this CSS stuff as well. :D

On other news, DenverArt has made me the Head Director of Inter-Community Relations and Recent Submissions, whatever that is. ;P I think I'll be headin' up all the recent submissions for all the cool peepz in Denver and surrounding Colorado. :D Will be interesting. Also, whenever I get my tax money back, I think I'll go ahead and order the Canon Rebel XTi body with a 28-105mm lens. Maybe a few filters as well to go with it. Been talking with a lot of people and that seems like a perfect fit for me.

The first four shots I uploaded were from my first week in photography class. Each week we are assigned a word to take shots of. First four photos are from the week 'color', the next four are from 'cold' and this week I'll be taking shots of 'smooth'. I'll take 'em, upload 'em, whenever I get around to it. :D

Well now that almost all my finals are done, cough, doing my final poster on Mikhail Gorbachev, I am looking at buying a new camera. Would actually be MY first camera (digital) and I am not exactly on which one I should focus on getting. I went to Wolf Camera in Denver about 2 weeks ago, and the manager brought up this Pentax 100D Super. Looked like a good camera (course I would buy off-line), but I don't know. I don't know too much about cameras but I know I would like to get a DLSR with Manual ISO settings and interchangeable lenses. My budget is about 600$ max.

Was wondering if anyone could give me any advice about buying a camera, but more importantly give me a good camera that you think would suit my needs.
