What is Lorem Ipsum?

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Where does it come from?

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

The standard chunk of Lorem Ipsum used since the 1500s is reproduced above for those interested. Sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 from "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" by Cicero are also reproduced in their exact original form, accompanied by English versions from the 1914 translation by H. Rackham.

Why do we use it?

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

Where can I get some?

There are many variations of passages of Lorem Ipsum available, but the majority have suffered alteration in some form, by injected humour, or randomised words which don't look even slightly believable. If you are going to use a passage of Lorem Ipsum, you need to be sure there isn't anything embarrassing hidden in the middle of text. All the Lorem Ipsum generators on the Internet tend to repeat predefined chunks as necessary, making lipsum.com the first true generator on the Internet. It uses a dictionary of over 200 Latin words, combined with a handful of model sentence structures, to generate Lorem Ipsum which looks reasonable. The generated Lorem Ipsum is therefore always free from repetition, injected humor, or non-characteristic words etc.

Intro To Reformatting

This is my short and not-so-specific method of reformatting. I may rewrite it in the future and add details.

If your computer has a virus/worm/trojan, if it's running much slower than usual, or if it keeps reporting errors, you may want to reformat your computer. Reformatting usually does the trick. Just keep in mind that in the process of reformatting, everything on your hard drive is erased. So, you are well advised not do so unless you can backup your necessary files or continue if you have no files that need to be backed up.

You then have the option of installing an operating system if you have the disc and a license to do so. Example: Windows Vista, Windows XP, etc. Be sure your computer physically meets the requirements to run the desired operating system. Example: Windows XP requires 128mb of RAM to run successfully, while Windows Vista requires 1gb of RAM. If all goes as planned, you're left with a brand new computer. Yay.

But, it's not over yet. In order for your computer to run the way it's supposed to, you're going to need drivers. Think of drivers as small programs that teach your computer how to use certain physical parts of your computer. There's usually a driver for your sound card, graphics card, motherboard, network card, disc drives, web cams, and more. Needless to say, if you don't have the drivers installed, you won't have sound, video, internet, etc.

Make sure these drivers exist for the operating system you're installing, and have them available on a USB drive before you begin the reformatting process.
I cannot express this enough!

If you're going to install an older operating system like Windows XP, it may be harder to find these drivers as most companies like HP no longer support it. The truth is, Windows Vista and Windows 7 are the future. There is no reason to take a step back when we can take one, or two, steps forward. Some would disagree with this concept, but the money-making companies simply don't care.

If perchance, the drivers you seek are not available from the manufacturer's website, you may be able to find them elsewhere if someone has made them. If you decide to install consumer-created drivers, be sure to read reviews and comments for the specified drivers, and make sure they've received positive feedback. If you can't find the most recent version of the driver you're looking for, you can use an older one just the same. Chances are, you won't even notice the difference.

Once all your drivers are installed, you're good to go. One other thing I like to do is download the latest service pack. For example, if you installed Windows XP, you can download Service Pack 3 from the Microsoft Website. If you installed Windows Vista, you can download Service Pack 2. With these installed, you can be sure your computer is running as fast as it should. As part of the service packs, you're usually given an updated firewall for security, and the latest internet browser. What more can you ask for?

Speaking of which, I've decided to make only one ringtone per week. That way, it won't get old. I'll probably make more if I'm in the mood for it, but that's the way it's going to be for now. Don't worry, you'll still get approximately 52 ringtones a year. And remember, they're all free!

I tried Tabasco Habanero Sauce last night for the first time. MY GOD, that crap is hot! It gave me a headache and even made me cry. That's twice in one day! I also shed a tear as I watched my old car driving away... I sold it to one of my mom's friends. Oh, well. We'll meet again, old friend.

On another note, I added Kontera ads to the website. You might see them placed randomly in my content. Look for the links with double underlines. When you hover over them, they'll show you a relevant ad. I'll explain these more in detail in a future blog.

By the way, Firefox 3.1 (Beta 3) is now available for download! You must be running a Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux operating system. Head over to the Mozilla website to give it a try. I'd like to hear your reviews and feedback.

The Geek Squad and I

If you watched my recent vlog, you'd know that I was planning on applying for the Geek Squad. I typed up a well-written resume, printed it out on resume paper, and attached one of my business cards. For this special occasion I showered, I shaved, I even wore my "A List Apart" shirt. Just for kicks, of course, as I'm not the kind of person to wear a suit for any occasion, including an interview. I don't know what I'm going to do for my wedding...

Back on topic- I drove out to the nearest Best Buy store. That's where the Geek Squad precincts are located. Before I entered the store, a smile was brought to my face as I witnessed a female Geek Squad agent coming out of her Chevrolet Express Geek Squad van. I thought to myself, "I'm going to be one of them." Not a female, mind you, just a geek.

With that, I entered the store with my head held high. Some employees passed by. Instead of asking them for directions to the Geek Squad booth, I assessed the aisle names and went from there. So it turns out, I can't apply in-store. I have do it online. I was very disappointed... What kind of store does that? I was looking forward to using one of those application kiosks or at least spend an hour filling out a hand-written application.

So, I went online and did some research. Apparently, none of the nearby stores are hiring. To better quote them:

Neo Genexis Updates

Lots of updates have been made on the website. I added the Twitpic widget to the bottom of the navigation column on the right. The other pages are now accessible but the content is still underway. I also added the Disgby widget to my contact page. Now you guys can talk to me live on the website if I'm on Digsby. The website is now valid according to XHTML Strict 1.1 regulations. It is also CSS 2.1 valid. I still need to decide on a footer and make an official header image that fits the layout theme. I need to figure out that RSS crap so you guys can subscribe to my feed and be notified of recent updates without having to browse through my online profiles, even though I try to update them all as much as possible.

I'm going live on BlogTV tomorrow at 5pm Pacific Time. I'll be debating over current events, making/receiving phone calls, answering questions, and holding contests. Tomorrow, I'll be giving a way my Nyko Charge Station with two rechargeable batteries for the Wiimote. If you have any questions or suggestions for the show, feel free to contact me. YouTube Blackout

So, who's going to participate? Let me make a long story short.

Basically, Google bought YouTube a few months ago, and since then they've changed a lot of things on the website. Now, they're going "demote" all videos that contain any sexually suggestive content (they're getting much stricter about it). The same goes for all videos that contain profanity.

Any videos that contain inappropriate content will no longer be featured on any page of the website and will only be available through a direct link. Many YouTube users feel this is wrong because it's illegal to censor them as they have freedom of speech (at least in the USA).

To show that they disagree with the system, the YouTube community has proposed a "Blackout" date. They will protest on December 19th, 2008 by simply not visiting the YouTube website or logging in to their accounts.

This will affect YouTube's revenue as they have a pay-per-click system. Many YouTube users believe the site would not exist if it wasn't for us- the users. We made YouTube what it is today. Or did we...?

I don't have a statement at the moment, but I would like to hear your opinions on the matter.

Copyright Infringement

I had seventeen of my deviations removed for copyright infringement. That includes "Gangster Pikachu" 1, 2, and 3, which so many of you guys faved. (Thank you so much for that, by the way!) I understand the situation, but some of those deviations were made entirely from scratch by my self. Some of them include (believe it or not) photographs of myself, photographs of scenery, and web layouts designed and coded by myself that included photographs of my friends (used with permission). I just sent a note to the HelpDesk. If anything, I just want to be able to download those removed deviations for my own personal use outside of DeviantArt. Bare with me, guys. I'll keep you guys updated. Thank you for your support! ='

This is one of the funnest games I've ever played online. It's a virtual board game where you roll a dice to advance on a huge three-dimensional map. For all those nerds out there who care, this game is flash-based and javascript-assisted! The storyline is cheesy but comical. Definitely a must-play game if you are bored. Have fun!

On a slightly lighter note, I bought Sonic Riders on Wednesday of last week. Good game, if I do say so myself. It was hard as heck, but I passed the story mode. All thats left to do now is obtain all the emblems for the missions and use my rings to buy all the extreme gear for my characters. Anyone care to go one-on-one?

Is there a Hard Mode or something I should know about? It took me no longer than 10 hours to pass the darn thing. My friend's trying to get me into violent games, Rated T for Teen and above. He decided to let me start off with one that's not so vigorous- BloodRayne. It's nice to step away from supersonic hedgehogs, blue bombers, and Italian plumbers for once. lol It was fun while it lasted, but I still wish there was a hard mode or another story to the game. It'd be cool to play as Mynce for once. She's hot... =3 It's hilarous how they exaggerate on how much the boobs bounce when the chicks move. lol They may have gone too far with that minor detail, but it's still funny. Same thing goes for Rayne, especially with the 'Jugular' cheat activated. I'm sure the fans know what I'm talking about. Anywayz, I think I'm ready for Resident Evil 4, yes?

In other news, I went to Target today to buy Sonic Riders for Gamecube. It turns out, they're still sold out. Some guy there said they won't have it for a while. That's hard to believe knowing they restock every Wednesday. >_> I'd buy it elsewhere but I've got some stupid giftcard specifically for use at Target. I tried getting a refund for it by buying something and returning it, but they just gave me another giftcard... ;_; Oh, well. I'll go again first thing after school next Wednesday. Restock this, Target! Hahahaha! >8D

Today was crazy! A bill is currently being passed to deport any and all immigrants. Last Saturday, thousands of people were marching in Los Angeles. Today, thousands of students walked out of their school to protest against this new proposition, including my own.

This week, we're supposed to be having CST (California Standart Test) testing. We got smart, though... The schedule was: first, homeroom, second, nutrition, testing for 2 hours in homeroom, lunch, fifth, and six. We discovered that homeroom teachers weren't going to take roll again during the testing period, which is why we decided to walk out during nutrition.

You should've seen it. First, it was just about 50 people at the front gate. My friend Dianne and I walked over to see what was up. A few students getting past here and there, no biggie. Then, about 200 more students come marching from behind. Assistant principals and a couple of securities can't stop us all, right?

For a while, the gate was locked to prevent anyone from leaving or entering the campus. All of a sudden, some students start swinging at the securities and manage to break past the gate. At this point, many people took out their cell phones, digital cameras, etc. and begin getting some pretty good footage. Some were throwing stuff in the air; they only added to the commotion. lol

I didn't walk out myself, mainly because of the CST testing to come later on. I walked over to my homeroom to find that only 4 other students were there. We kept walking in and out of the room to look over at the street where the students had marched by. Some students were using their cell phones to keep in touch with other students at the march.

Soon after, I discovered that our school, San Fernando High School, had walked around the block to Laurel Canyon St. to meet up with Kennedy High School. From there, they walked down the street onto Paxton St. to meet up with Poly High School. How cool is that!? XD

I only wish I would've gone... that would've been so cool. ^^ The day wasn't over, though... lol

At lunch time, I was gonna' get some grub to satisfy my hunger. To my surprise, the lunch lines were packed. Most of the lunch ladies were gone from their posts. I assumed they said something like, "Fuck this. We won't even be here tomorrow if that stupid bill gets passed." Hahahaha!

Anywayz... I didn't want to wait in line. So, I decided to go to the library to check if my new lady friend Jeanette was there. As soon as I walk in, I see my other friend Mark arguing with the librarians that he lost his floppy disk. I gave him a simple, "I told you so!" and walked over to Jeanette. Hehe...

I was just watching Jeanette do her homework as always. When she finished, we were talking about how bored we were because we didn't walk out and how we just wanted to go home. One thing lead to another and before we knew it, we were walking around the school looking for a safe way out. An exit that wasn't guarded... >_>;

Unfortunately, we didn't find much. But the walk was nice. As soon as the bell rang, we walked over to the nearest fence and jumped it as soon as the coast was clear of teachers. She was a little paranoid, afraid of getting a ticket if the cops passed by. I am unfamiliar with this fear... Maybe it's because I've never been caught. Hah, that's how good I am! lol

We passed by the front gate and saw Dianne waiting for her ride. She asked us what we were doing outside. I just waved and laughed. lol Lucky for us, Jeanette lived only a couple of blocks away from the school. Once we were on her block, she stopped and said she noticed her mom and aunt outside the house. I'm guessing she didn't want to explain things... >_>;

So, I come up with the idea of going to grab a bite to eat at Winchell's Coffee and Donuts to kick it until school was out. She thought about it for a moment before she agreed. We start walking when all of a sudden a cop car turns from around the corner and heads straight toward us. We quickly turn around and call the whole thing off. Talk about a rush of adrenaline! O_O;

I walked her home as fast as I could without looking suspicious and calling the cop's attention. They must've turned the corner or something 'cause I didn't see them anymore... Jeanette and I made our adieus and goodbyes. From here, I walked over to the bus stop where I waited for about 5 minutes.

I sent Rini a Mocha today. I hope she liked it. =3 I kindly asked my friend Rachel to make sure she got it. So, props to her, too. lol

I had my ROP class today. For some reason it seemed longer than usual. Oh, well. I'm home now.

Hey, my mom made tamales de puerco (pork). I'm saving some for my friends so I can take them to school tomorrow. My mom makes the best tamales around. No questions asked, hehe. Of course you can be the judge of that if you try them. lol

By the way, I found one of my old English teachers; the one that wanted me to make a web site for him. We were having trouble finding his account information to manage his web site, but it's all under wraps now. The site should be completed in about a week or so. I'll post a screeny when I'm done.

I just don't know what's up lately. There's this girl I like... or love. I'm not sure. There's also this other girl I love for sure. Problem is, the one I truly love is too busy living her life to be in a relationship. The one I like seems to go in and out of her phases where we're all "lovey-dovey". I just don't know what to do. Should I try with the one I love knowing it won't work out? Or should I go with the one I like knowing something will happen? Advice, please... Feedback is always appreciated.

I'm sick right now. I logged on to MSN with the screen name "Blade Genexis - I have a freakin' headache. Don't talk to me unless it's important..." and at least 3 of my friends started talking to me. They kind of inspired me to post about my condition here on Deviantart. This should be interesting... They told me I should go to bed and I refused. I just... can't. I've got a dry throat, runny nose, headache, and other symptoms that come and go. I already took a couple of one hour naps and took Tylenol twice. Nothing seems to help. I can't sleep at all now and I feel all desesperado, meaning I can't get enough of anything. I just drank another soda, the third one today, I think. Now, I'm making myself a cup of noodles. Sure, you'd think a soup such as this one would do me good, but it doesn't taste any different when you have one everyday like me. I didn't go to school today and by the looks of things, I may not go tomorrow either. I keep sneezing and I can't fall asleep at all anymore. I think my cup of noodles is ready now. I'll eat it and hope it'll do me good. Laterz, everyone.

Anyone else going back to school this week? I go back tomorrow... Man, this sucks. I tried to be as productive as possible but I didn't accomplish much. At least, I don't think I did... I remade Chaos Realm like I said I would, but I didn't finish the whole website. I took a lot of art requests, especially from my friend "WhiteCookie". I still think I could've done more, maybe for people I know in person as opposed to the ones I know online.

I didn't get a job like I said I would, I'm not gonna' complain, though- I don't have an official website as a profile to show what I've done. It's all scattered around the net on SFETT, Deviantart, Chaos Realm, MySpace, etc.

My new year's resolution, which I vowed to make about a month ago, is to leave behind my laziness and selfishness. I shall be the brave, determined, and powerful leader I claim to be. Sometime ago, I also vowed to learn PHP or at least be a PHP junkie by the time I'm 18. That'll be in April 28th, so I should have enough time.

I've got this plan with Verizon that lets me have my broadband connection for about $20.00 for three months. This is the last month... Unless I manage to get a job and keep up with school, I won't be able to keep it. Sure, I've got my small stack of hundreds in my account, but I don't exactly want to waste it all on DSL unless I'm getting payed to do so. You know, designing websites and making graphics. Which reminds me... I need to go out and buy a new USB drive. My old one died... Hopefully I can buy one under $100.00 that holds 1GB.

I finally reformatted! Man, that was a hastle. So many stupid little things that made the whole thing go wrong. Whatever, though. What matters is it worked! Now all I've gotta' do is reinstall Photoshop, Illustrator, Cinema, etc. Then I can start taking requests. Yay! ^^

I'm reformatting in an hour. I've been using my mom's Windows 98 computer to log on because my Windows XP was acting retarted and wouldn't let me log on. I kept telling people, "If I can't figure it out, no on can." I was right! Verizon couldn't figure it out, some computer expert came and couldn't figure it out, blah blah blah Told ya' so!! So, my friend's coming over today to help me reformat my computer. Hopefully, it'll work and I'll be able to log on. Soonafter, I'll reinstall Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS/2, Cinema 4D, and all those other fancy art programs. I guess I'll post how it went later... if it works which I hope it does. >_>;

So, yeah. Wish me luck! ^^

I got broadband...

Yay. *Waves flag with Verizon DSL logo on it* ._.

...but it doesn't work!! I had broadband in the past and it worked just fine. Now, the stupid installation disc for the modem won't work! I've already tried everything. Strange thing is, now it says my regular dial-up modem is considered new hardware! I freegin' hate Windows. *Wants a PowerBook* The new Windows Longhorn operating system sucks; I've already read up on it.

Anywayz, the comp detects the connection and says it's connected at 100 Megs per second, but the browser won't display a single freakin' page! I called Verizon a couple of times and they guided me through some pretty long steps, but in the end we still couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Damn, I'm frustrated! Oh, well. Someone's coming in to check it out on Monday after school. He SAYS he'll fix it but I'm not so sure. We'll see how things go. If it works, I'll talk to you all on Monday. If not... I'll have to cancel the DSL service. *Boohoo* ;_;
