The four games that can be played are given their own area. There is Storybook Land, which plays like a side-scroller, then there is the Illusion Village, where the gameplay is of a vertical-scrolling shooter, then there is the Arena, where it is a 2-D fighting game, and finally, the Battle Ground, which is a First-person shooter.

The main thing is that for the four areas, they all use a single set of stats, but each stat works differently for each area. There are five stats to determine a character's abilities: Strength, Stamina, Agility, Dexterity, and Intelligence.

For Storybook Land, the stats are used as such:
-Strength: Determines how much damage your character's attacks can do.
-Stamina: The amount of damage the character can take before falling.
-Agility: Movement Speed and Jumping Ability. Higher amounts of agility allow for dashes and air-jumps.
-Dexterity: Skill with weapons. Weapons will be scattered along the ground in some areas, and have a limited number of uses. High Dexterity allows the character to get more uses out of a weapon.
-Intelligence: Capacity and Regeneration rate of Energy for special attacks.

Illusion Village:
-Strength: Determines how much damage your character's attacks can do.
-Stamina: Determines how many lives the character starts off with, as well as how quickly extra lives are gained.
-Agility: Movement speed.
-Dexterity: Hitbox size. Higher DEX = Smaller hitbox
-Intelligence: Starting number of Bombs, as well as how quickly extra bombs are gained.

Arena:
-Strength: Determines how much damage your character's attacks can do.
-Stamina: The amount of damage the character can take before falling.
-Agility: Movement Speed and Jumping Ability. Higher amounts of agility allow for dashes and air-jumps.
-Dexterity: Cancelling skill. This can vary from cancelling attacks into other attacks, to cancelling out of blocks into other moves, to cancelling Super into Super, to an Eternal Fighter Zero-style Instant Cancel, to a Guilty Gear-style Roman Cancel
-Intelligence: Capacity and Regeneration rate of Energy for Super attacks.

Battle Ground:
-Strength: Determines ammuntion capacity.
-Stamina: The amount of damage the character can take before falling.
-Agility: Movement Speed and Jumping Ability.
-Dexterity: Weapon Stabilization ability. Low Dexterity means that a character will have trouble keeping weapons firing straight, while High Dexterity allows a character to keep even automatic weapons steady.
-Intelligence: "Gunner's Sense". For the most part, this is a character's radar. At higher levels, however, it can allow a character to sense when an enemy nearly misses him/her, at even higher levels, it will give the character the general direction that the near miss came from, and combined with high Agility, it can allow the character to perform Matrix-esque maneuvers.

There will be three modes of play:
-Story Mode: Create a character from scratch, build him up RPG-style, go through the four areas and beat the Final Bosses of each area. After beating the for area bosses, defeat the true Final Boss of the game. The final boss is a four-stage boss, with each stage being each of the four game modes. The final boss is extremely tough to beat one-on-one. However, you don't have to beat him like that. Depending on how you interact with other characters in the world, they may help you beat him.
-Arcade Mode: Take a preset character or one created from Story Mode and take on one of the four games.
-Duel Mode: Take a preset character or one you created and do a single match against an opponent, either CPU-controlled or controlled by another player. Each of the four games has their own Duel Mode.
--Storybook Land: Players take turns, seeing who can go the furthest. Turns change hands at the end of a level.
--Illusion Village: Split screen duel ala Twinkle Star Sprites or Phatasmagoria of Flower View. The goal is to out-dodge and out-endure the opponent.
--Arena: Simple player VS player duel, or up to four fighters can battle it out in a battle royale, or a four-team battle.
--Battle Field: Standard FPS Multiplayer fare; deathmatch, capture the flag, king of the hill, etc.

A couple of examples: The technique "Majinken" requires five cards: Ma-ji-n-ke-n. In certain cases, some techniques can be powered up by adding or replacing certain cards used in the technique. For example, a five-card "Hadouken" will have greater range and power than a four card "Hadoken", and "Faia" can be powered up to higher levels by replacing the third card "a" with an "ra", "ga", or "ja" card. However, the "ja" card is a rare to find card, or expensive if that card can be purchased.

At some point in the game, the player character can gain the ability to combine two cards to make certain syllables that are necessary to perform certain techniques, and at another point, he or she can combine techniques ala Cress Albane or some other Tales series heroes.

This one will be in the form of a "Character Select" screen for a fighting game. However, there will be more to it than just that...There will also be a picture with all the participating characters, ready to bring it on.

If you want in, what I will need from you is:
-A 75x75px mugshot for your character for the select screen, either drawn or pixel art. These dimensions are fixed, you cannot submit one of any other size.
-A full character picture for the group shot, in a ready-to-fight pose, and optionally an outfit to match. Generally, the bigger your character, the bigger this should be. A 6 foot tall human character standing would be around 200 pixels tall.

For these, I highly recommend that you put these in a single-color background, one that isn't a color that is on your character. Also, most sprites won't work. If you need to multiply the size for it to meet these requirements, then I will not accept them. Also, you need BOTH of these, not just one without the other.

This will be a collaborative project, but it will NOT be a contest. The bad thing about that is that there are no prizes, except character recognition. The good thing about it is that if you have a character you want to enter, but you don't think you can draw very well, you are allowed to ask someone to draw your character for you, or you may use a picture that was already made by someone else.

Also, if you have good art skill, but no character that you're willing to bring to the project, you may offer to help someone who wants to join, or you may do something like this for special recognition:
-Background. Yes, I'll need a suitable background for the pictures. You may do a background for one of the two parts, or you may do a background that fits for both. HOWEVER, what you shouldn't put in the background is a fixed number of character slots. I'm not limiting this project of a set number of characters.
-Logo: I'm planning this project to have members from DeviantART and SheezyART in this, and a good logo would make the end result even more impressive, if even slightly. It would be recommended that each site has a different design for their part of the logo. I'm looking for something along the lines of "DeviantART x SheezyART" (in a similar sense to Namco x Capcom, not any relationship type things, silly!) or something like that.
-My character: Yes, I myself am amongst those who want in this, but can't draw well enough. It shouldn't be too hard to explain, just draw my character as if he was in this. My character is around 5 foot 7 inches tall, or about 186 pixels if standing. You may also dress my character up in an outfit from a character in a fighting game, as well. It may get used in Edwurdo's project, even if I choose an "uncostumed" entry for mine. If you decide to enter me in a costume, you must state whose outfit I'm wearing, and the game where that character is from. Since I play mostly Namco and Capcom fighting games, and Super Smash Bros. Melee as well. Choosing a character from those games increases your chances a bit. Even better if it's a character I favor playing as.

The latest I'll take entries will be...July 1. That should be plenty of time. HOWEVER...I'll only accept entries of my character in a costume until a few days before Edwurdo's project deadline. That should give me a little time to choose one to use for Edwurdo's project.

1. Although I'm a self-proclaimed "Master of the Games", I royally fail at First Person Shooters.

There are three characteristics for each character: Attack Power, Endurance, and Speed. Likewise, there are three main classes of character: Anime, Cartoon, and Chibi. Anime characters tend to have more attack power, with all those energy beams and weapon masteries. Cartoon Characters tend to have more endurence, as they seem to not be able to stay dead for more than a few seconds. The smaller and lighter Chibis have greater speed. Some characters can be a mix of two or even all three classes. Those with two classes are classified as (first class)/(second class) types, and those with all three are classified as "Mark" types.

Each character has 18 "Characteristic Points", which determines their characteristics in a card game format, or the growth thereof in an RPG format. No more than 10 CPs can go to any one characteristic, but each characteristic must have at least one CP to it.

In a card game format, Attack determines how much damage a character can deal in one attack, Endurance determines the character's HP, (one CP to stamina equals 5 HP) and speed determines who strikes first, as a turn ends with all characters attacking at once. If two character of equal speed attack each other, a coin is flipped. Heads means both characters connect with their attacks, tails means neither character hits.

Also, some characters have special abilites. Most of them work by chance, success determined by one or more coinflips. Active abilities are those that one can choose to use instead of a regular attack, while passive abilities take effect alongside the character's regular attack.

There will be item cards as well, the standard array of Recover HP, Boost own character's stats, lower opponent's character's stats, and so on. There are limited-duration items, which have a limited number of uses, and Equipment items, which last until the character is Knocked Out, or another Equipment item is placed on that character.
