Why hello there~
It's been a while -- I need to do these a bit more frequently...
So, like has been rather good. School and stuff has been going on for a while, and I'm finally getting into the swing of things. (Not like school's my main concern or anything.)

My job is really what has made me happy soul. My boss is incredible, I love making coffee, and I AM THE MOP MASTER.
But seriously, that place is fucking awesome.
Come check it out! It's over at Cherry & McCaslin in Louisville. I usually work there from ~1 until 4.
Overall though, I've really gotten the hang of things over there. I can close in 40 minutes (as opposed to 1 hour 15 minutes, when I started) and I can make anything the people ask (so long as it's on the menu, of course).

Music lately has been good. Me and 's little music escapade has reached new heights, and we're really eager to release our first CD~

So, I actually did end of going this year (I decided this the Wednesday before it happened... ). It was... so fucking worth it. I had an epiphany there, or something. I sort of opened up, because my philosophy was that someone there was probably more unfortunate looking than me anyway. So, thanks to that, I've gotten into the habit if wearing bandannas as scarves. Woo.
The spoils were few, but valuable! I got a bottle of Qoo, a tail that you attach by your belt, and a wonderful commission by ! I got to meet her as well, but she didn't seem too thrilled... HAH.
But the commission is so GOOD. It made me shit myself when I pulled it out of the package. [link] The scanner murdered the colors though. Luckily, I have it hanging up on my wall, so I can see its glorious colors at all times. HAH.

And new music that I've been listening to!
I got the rest of this fabulous band; Broken Social Scene. Their older stuff is great, but their oldest stuff is quite ambient. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just not what I expected from BSS.
I also got Portugal. the Man's new album, "Censored Colors." It's... absolutely wonderful. It wasn't what I thought was coming, but what came was absolutely fantastic. I love "Lay Me Back Down" and "Sit Back and Dream."
Then I got the Glider EP by My Bloody Valentine. Why I haven't gotten more is beyond me. This stuff is FUCKING AMAZING. You'd think with a name like that, they'd be some emo shitty screaming band. But, no, they're this fangasmic shoegaze band. I love it. "Soon" is just... perfect.
I usually don't go for jazz all that much, but Yoko Kanno is just too damn good to pass up. I got the Soundtrack for the anime Darker Than Black, and my goodness, it's just great. I can't stop listening to "Tenderly." It's such a chill soooong~
And then, after for fucking forever, I got "The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust!" by Saul Williams. Jesus shit, I don't go for rap, ever, but OH MY GOD, this isn't rap, this is poetry, this is what rap is supposed to be. And having Trent Reznor featured on the album just makes it even better than what it already is.
Lastly, I got Grails' upcoming album, "Doomsdayer's Holiday," and it's... different. I love "Reincarnation Blues" & "Predestination Blues" most of all. But, good god, they must have done SO many drugs to make this album.

Quite a few things have happened since the last entry~
1. School started up again.
2. I got a job at the coffee shop.
3. I got a new pair of pants.

Okay, so only a few things. They're still BIG things.

School seems to to be swimming...
I got some good classes and some okay teachers. I've got 7th off, which is rather nice.
Having 7th off basically means I can go to work earlier.
That means I can get more money. Huzzah.

Working at a chill little coffee shop is a wonderful first job. The atmosphere is great, and the customers so far are really nice to me. If I don't know how in the hell to make their Decaf-whole milk-iced mocha, then they'll be all patient and let me figure things out. =]

New music'

~This is fucking fantastic. Go listen to Sapphire Magic, if you can find it somewhere.

I got all of the Gorillaz that I had missing as well. It's... well I haven't listened to it. I only got it because I was excited for...

"Journey To The West." ~Monkey
~A creative little side project from the guy behind the Gorillaz. It's not SUPER-FANTASTIC, but I will say it's the most enjoyable score for a Chinese Opera that I've ever heard.

"The Ocean and The Sun." ~The Sound of Animals Fighting.
So, I got this two weeks early, but it's okay, I bought this shirt. [link]
the album itself is fantastic. Perhaps not as experimental as Lover, (Which I would have liked,) but who am I to judge the music they make? I think it's fantastic. (Stanout tracks include "The Ocean and the Sun," "Blessings Be Yours Mister V," and "Uzbekistan."

Lastly, me and have been working out asses off on a new musical project. It's turning rather swell. :3

Summer's perking up a bit.
But not really.
Art should be at an all-time high, but I've been concentrating on ST34MPUNK too much to draw.
I could draw something eventually, I've just been lacking the proper motivation.

I'm loving this.

I saw a movie recently called "The Fountain." It was by far the most interesting thing I've ever seen.
I need to watch it again.

I broke up with my boyfriend.
But you wouldn't want to know about that.

All my friends will be at band camp the next couple of weeks.
I need someone to chill with.
I require human interaction with people besides my family.
Not that they're annoying, I've just felt so isolated as of lates.
I just went clothes shopping and I want to show off my new pants.

--Absolutely fantastic. Only VSnares can make a song called "Poo Yourself Jason" completely awesome.

cyrusrex - "All. of Me Hyde."
--It's like slowed down Venetian Snares, but he added his own touch to it. Pretty good shit here.

Prefuse 73 - "One Word Extinguisher."
--I absolutely love this guy's style. It's warming me up to the idea of considering rapping "music."

--Like nothing I've really heard before. It's fun to sing along to.

Basically what it says is that they're trying to pass a law that basically makes it legal for them to take our artwork without permission and use it.

Bullshit.

I hope I can make a difference.
However, don't just sit there. Please, I implore you, for the sake of our futures (if we all want to grow up to be artists) please, send something to at least one of these officials. If I am able to make a difference with just 4 e-mails, imagine the difference hundreds and thousands of e-mails can make.

I suggest reading the whole article.

But, I hope this law never gets passed at any time.
The arts are seem to be growing smaller; so small that artwork may no longer be specific to an artist.
Please, for the sake of the arts, the lives of many artists, and the futures of young artists, try to make a difference.

but the bank is being a twat,
and it won't let me transfer any money.

I always try to keep my savings and my debit accounts as even as conceivably possible. Now the bank won't let me.
It says I have to wait until April.

I've still been downloading music on my mum's compy. xD
The other day when I went to Urban Outfitters and they were playing some Maps, and I grew VERY interested. After the downloading the album I realized they sound exactly like Postal Service + Mew. It's the PERFECT blend of those two bands. xD

I also got an album by The Flashbulb, an IDM artist who I have somehow overlooked. His music is very experimental, and relaxing. I really like "Submerged Renewed" from the album I got.

Also, I got around to downloading "Greedy Baby" by Plaid. The music is very... minimal. I guess this is what happens when you only get the music for a visual album.
Not to say the music's bad, it's just...
...less.

Can't wait for Scintilli. xD

Um... shit.
Well, my computer finally died. After 3 years of serving me.

YOU'VE DONE WELL OLD CHAP.
So I guess it's back to occasionally commandeering my mum's computer for the time being. I'll see if I can't install my tablet software on here. :3
Because she does have Photoshop.
But it's Photoshop Elements 5. X_X

So right now, as for music, I'm living off of youtube, myspace, and ProjectPlaylist. Because all of my mom's music is smooth jazz and that stuff makes me want to kill myself.

As for art, new, abstract ideas for pieces have begun to flow into my head! Perfect timing for my computer to suddenly shit out!
Don't worry, I'll keep them in mind.
Unfortunately, this also means I have no scanner.

No scanner = no scanning things
No scanning things = No scanning comics
No scanning comics = No comic.

Thus, no scanner = no comic.
I'm actually like, three pages ahead, so this sucks a big load of ass. D<

But don't worry, I managed to salvage all of the important things before my computer shot itself, like my Japan Pictures, my art, my comics, my schoolwork, and my flash animations. Other than that, most of the stuff on my computer was useless. xD
And I have the music on my iPod. I just hope I don't drop and break that, or I would kill myself.

So... if I get a new computer, I'm not going to settle for PC.
My parents are rich. Pssh.

Yeah, odd how this sort of thing happened about a year ago as well. O_o

I'm sort of hoping it isn't a minor problem, because if it is then I get my computer fixed and it goes on living. That means I DON'T get a new computer.
But I checked inside and it almost as though some of the wires were just... broken. Like, snapped in half.
Was my computer REALLY that old?

And, my parents being the half-way idiots they are, will probably suspect me of purposely killing my computer to get a new one.

I want you to do something.
Think of an average career, like a lawyer, doctor, or engineer.

Think of 3 people with those professions who had a significant impact on the world.

Now think of 3 artists who had an impact on the world.

What I'm trying to say is... well, it's a feeling stronger than words. I really need to sit down and think of a way to describe this.
But, what I'm saying, what impact will doing things like recoloring sonic pictures and making "kawaii-desu" anime pictures have on this world?
People like Banksy, though considered to be illegal, are the true pioneers of art in our day and age, and I hope that he among others will go down into history books.

Who needs form and a dignified canvas to create art?
Which brings me to my next thing.

Ghosts I-IV.
Nine Inch Nails really snuck up on me with this album. I didn't even know about it until a week after its internet released.
Trent Reznor, I don't know where he's going, and I don't know whether or not I like it. He's experimenting with sounds, different instruments, and just... well, listen to the album and you'll understand.
None of the songs have vocals, which I don't know if I like it or not.
But...
I like it a lot. xD
Also, what I mean by "dignified canvas," in this situation, is the CD. Trent Reznor did not need a CD to spread his music. He personally uploaded torrents of his works onto various sites, because he cared about the art, not the wealth that he could gain from the art.
However, I still gave him $5 for being one of the most incredible musicians of our time.
I know, $5 doesn't really cover how much I appreciate his works, but if he somehow happens to read this, hopefully he'll know that I love his work, and that's plenty enough to cover it.

So, my mum reminds me every day that I have three D's this quarter, and it's really getting annoying. Does she think I don't KNOW I have bad grades? Seriously, I could spend time doing homework instead of talking to her. xD
I'd rather that my dad confronts with this sort of stuff. He only tells me once, but the impact it has is huge.

Dad - "Connor, I'm really disappointed." (Insert reason and logic here.)
Mom - "Your brothers both had 4.0's"

So... whatever.

ITEM 1: MY PROJECTS

ITEM 2: MUSIC I ENJOY
Well, I'm going through what I consider to be my biggest Venetian Snares phase yet.
So, I was rummaging through to see if Venetian Snares had any videos.
And so, I saw this. [link]
The song is just... holy shit. And the video is confusing, but fantastic.
So, I got the album that this was from (Rossz Csillag Alatt Szueletett) and it turns out the rest of it is just as brilliant and mind-blowing. It's this perfect mesh of classical and breakcore, which combined turns into something that cannot be explained in words.
And I heard that another one of his albums (My Downfall (Original Soundtrack)) is also this classical/breakcore blend of music. I'm listening to it right and I'm just... blown away.
Oh, and there's a new song by Plaid that's AMAZING as well.

Saturday and Sunday I did nothing but play Wind Waker ALL DAY.

So I got their CD "Yanqui U.X.O," and it's super-amazing. Yes, most of the songs are 20+ minutes long, but man, they need to be that long for the full effect. (If that made any sense.) I love the song "Rockets Fall On Rocket Falls." You can hear the song in the fan-made video, here. [link]
Also, I randomly ran into a band called "The Bird and the Bee." I had heard "Again and Again" somewhere at some point in my life, but I never downloaded it, so... whatever. I do really enjoy it.

Today was the most relieving day EVER. I turned in a HUGE bio project, and also presented my LA Project. For those of you who don't remember, my LA Project consisted of this [link] picture. It was probably the best out of the class. (And if that sounds arrogant, just ask anyone in that class and they'll probably agree with you.) Also, the teacher commented on how enthusiastic I sounded when reading my canto. That made my day. XD
And now I have no homework and I can sleep in tomorrow.

ITEM 1: MY MUSIC

Nothing new.
I AM in a ska band called The Skaskank Redemption. I sing for them. It's fun!

ITEM 2: MUSIC I ENJOY
I got a few new things.
Firstly, I got a couple albums of calming industrial music. One of the bands is called Orka Veer, which is really nice stuff to just chill out to. The other is Kobold, who is ok, I guess. If I had gotten his album 3 months ago or so I would have LOVED it. I guess I'm in more of a Mars Volta mood... constantly.
So, I also got The Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson. I never realized how great this band was. Good thing they stuck this song into Children of Men so I could hear it.
Lastly, I got "The Air Force" by Xiu Xiu. It would be an understatement to say that this band is different. I love the song "Boy Soprano," and another song which i cannot recall its name at the moment. But the album is the most experimental thing I've ever heard. And hey, my friend said that "it's the album that sounds the most normal." So I'm anxious to see what the other albums sound like. :'D

School + Comics. School is still hard, but, eh, what can you do?
My comic is... well I'm working on it. I've got a few pages done and I plan to add a page to once a week. Probably every Saturday.

Definitely. I have 2/4 of those The Band pictures done. I still need to draw Virgil and Ilyena. I'll be drawing lots of comics and also I'll try to draw normal stuff.

I WENT TO A MARS VOLTA CONCERT OH MY GOD.
Me and went on a fecking epic adventure to the Mars Volta concert about a week ago, actually. It was PERFECT. My only complaint was, if you're going to give out backstage passes, DON'T DO IT WHEN WE'RE STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO THE PERSON YOU'RE GIVING THEM TOO. NGJSDRGJHDFJ
So the girls next to us had a LOT LOT LOT of fun. We just had a LOT of fun. XD
But they're the greatest band to go and see live, especially with their new drummer.
It was fantastical though.

ITEM 2: MUSIC I ENJOY
The Dust Brothers. "Fight Club." I haven't listened to all of it, and I probably never will. Cool stuff though. It just sounds better in the movie.

Sia. "Some People Have Real Problems." Relaxing, chill, upbeat. I like her style of singing/writing a lot.

Röyksopp. "The Understanding." Got stuck on the first song; Never stopped listening to it. "Triumphant" is brilliant.

Got a few ska songs too.

BIGGIE.
The Bedlam in Goliath by The Mars Volta fucking leaked last night.
I know I bought it, but I don't GIVE A DAMNED DAMN.
Reviewing time.

Aberinkula: 8.75/10 - This song is wonderful, but the two halves are two different. I don't entirely love the first half, but the second is orgasmical.
Metatron: 10/10 - Easily one of the best songs on the album. It's heavier, and just.... FUCK. This was the song that soundbite was from a while ago.
Ilyena: 9.5/10 - I've heard this song too much, so it's hard for me to review, but I still LOVE this song. Plus, the version I had had the last 1:25 edited out, which is probably the best part of the song.
Wax Simulacra: 9/10 - Their single back from November, and I'm still loving this song to death.
Goliath: 8.5/10 - Rapid Fire Tollbooth was better.
Tourniquet Man: 8/10 - A simple, gentler song set in the midst of a heavy album. It doesn't fit, but the song is good nonetheless.
Cavalettas: 10/10 - Definitely the heaviest song on the album. It's just... holy fuckin' shit.
Agadez: 9/10 - ...Wow. This song is so good. I've never heard Cedric sing in the bass octave. XD
Askepios: 9.75/10 - This was leaked a while ago, but it still has the punch it had back then. It's so different... and horrifying... XD
Ouroborous: 11/10 - The best song on the album, hands down. I can't get past this song on the album without listening to it twice...
Soothsayer: 10/10 - Knowing what it's based off of, this song scares the shit out of me. It's just... so different for The Mars Volta, but... brilliant.
Conjugal Burns: 9/10 - Takes me back to their earlier works. It's... wonderful, though the end is dissatisfying. Perhaps that's what they want...

OVERALL - 9.375
Their best album to date, hands down.
So, it's official.
The Bedlam in Goliath > Frances the Mute > De-Loused in the Comatorium > Amputechture.

FUCK this is brilliant.

New songs are "Survive!" and "Syzygy 3." I like Syzygy 3 because it has a lot of bass. =O
But I'm still sad because makes music that's a million times better than what I make. XD

EDIT: New song up! "Ataraxia." This is probably my best song so far... It makes me cry. D':

ITEM 2: MUSIC I ENJOY
I guess I haven't updated this for a LONG time, but... yeah, I walked into this one myself.
So, I actually got an album by The Killers (Sam's Town). It seems completely random of me, but I actually like it! I like Bling...
So, next, after I saw Paprika, (which, by the way, was incredible, but fucked up.) I had to get my hands on the soundtrack. It was just so delightfully screwed up. I like it, but, yeah, it's weird.
So, after I got the Paprika soundtrack, I had about a week where I had no idea of what to listen to... I had listener's block! So... I stumbled across just the band I needed! OCEANSIZE! They're this sort of progressive metal, but at time it's really relaxing! I love the songs "I Am the Morning" and "Massive Bereavement." Effloresce is definitely my favorite out of the 3 albums I got.
Lastly, it took me a while, but I finally put "Not for Threes" on my iTunes. WHAT WAS I THINKING!? HOW COULD I HAVE NOT PUT THIS ON MY COMPUTER BEFORE!? In other words, it's one of their best albums, in my opinion. My favorites are "Abla Eedio," "Prague Radio," "Lilith," "Extork," and most of all "Rakimou." Rakimou is one of those songs that really deserves 6 stars out of 5 on iTunes. I can listen to it over and over again and it's still incredible each time I listen.
Lastly, I got "Calibration" by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez. I know, it's a little early, but I'm going to buy it anyway. D< So far I haven't really gotten through it, but I do enjoy what I've listened to.
Wow, that's a LOT of music.

Good god, I have no idea. I guess I have artist's block, because I just can't think of anything. "Not for Threes" is really inspiring me, but once I get an idea, I lose motivation! D:

I've been bored, except for the couple of concerts I went to. I went to Rose Hill Drive on 12/30, and they played Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic," which I thought sounded really good! And then they played some original stuff, which was absolutely mind-blowing.
And on 1/6 I saw Streetlight Manifesto live. I can't say I was there for the music, but more for the energy. I was in the pit for a while, but once I got punched in the mouth I decided to get out of the pit and just skank somewhere else. Overall, it was a lot of fun!
So, school starts tomorrow. Perhaps you can expect more art because I don't have art class anymore. =]
And I'm afraid that's all.

ITEM 1: MY MUSIC
Yes, I've put a couple of songs up lately. Ive made "Syzygy 5" and "Syzygy 6." I renamed the old "Syzygy 6" "Syzygy 4." I thought it fit it better, and now I've confused you all.

And I switched the name of the album and the name of the band. It makes more sense to me now. Sorry for the confusions.
"Syzygy 5" is pretty slow-going but I like it.
But I must admit "Syzygy 6" isn't my best work. -_-;;

ITEM 2: MUSIC I ENJOY
My awesome bud Adam bought me a late birthmas present the other day when I was Christmas shopping. It was "Year Zero." Yeah, I got this album a while ago, but I've always wanted a PHYSICAL copy of it, mainly because the CD changes colors. XD
And then I went and listened to "Die Winnipeg Die Die Die Fucker Die" by Venetian Snares. (Which my friend described as "very educational") I had an epiphany and realized that Venetian Snares is fucking SICK. HOLY SHIT. So I got "Cavalcade Of Glee And Dadaist Happy Hardcore Pom Poms," because the album name was long and ridiculous. It's kickass. And check out the album art for that album. It's nuts. THIS IS A MACHINE FOR MAKING COWS.
Lastly, a shortened version of The Mars Volta's "Ilyena" was released. At first, this song was a little meh for me. But it's growing on me. I AM worried that if I listen to these songs too much, I'll ruin the album. But, eh, I'm excited.
And this brings me to something absolutely ridiculous that happened the other day.
So, The Mars Volta was going to tour in Boulder, a groovy city that's about 10 minutes away by car, if you don't know. Tickets went on sale at 10:00:00 am, and sold out at 10:00:03 am. I'm not exaggerating in the least bit. So my brother, being the groovy bastard (That's a good thing) he is, drove down to the Fox Theatre and attempted to buy tickets there, but they had sold out 10 minutes earlier. The time? 10:15. SHIT. In other words, I'm going to go scalping for tickets on the night of.
And all of this could have been avoided if I HADN'T BEEN AT FUCKING DRIVER'S ED.

Driver's Ed has been eating my Saturday's, but don't worry. I finished the three classrooms and passed the permit test. (24/25, oh yes.) And only a year late! What wonderful timing!
And I have good and bad news; Art class is ending. Bad in the sense that I'm not in art class anymore, but good because I get to do more digital art now, because I have more time.
And school is eating my soul, as usual.

Good lord.
I just had an unfortunate experience with oil paint that may turn me away from it forever.
Just basically cleaning it up. I mean, it's a good paint, it's just messy, and hard as FUCK to clean up. I still feel like it's EVERYWHERE! GAAAH.
In other words, Acrylic is MUCH better.

Kid 606's "Who Still Kill Sound?": Pretty good stuff, but I dunno, it's just not for me, I guess. I don't thoroughly enjoy it, but it's good to listen to every now and then. Yr Inside The Smallest Rave On Earth is a good song.
Plaid's "Double Figure": Good stuff. It's fun to go back and view a certain artist's older works, so you can fully understand their music. I'm slowly going back with Plaid's music.
Venetian Snares' "Winnipeg Is a Frozen Shithole": HOLY SHIT. DAAAAH!!! DAAAAAAAH!!! AAAAAAAAH!!! This album is stupidly intense. It makes me have seizures, and my ears bleed after a while. To fully understand this intensity, [link]
Omar Rodriguez Lopez's "The Apocalypse Inside of an Orange": Whet better way to hold me off until "The Bedlam in Goliath"? This album is damn good. I like "Baby Fat" and "Jacob Van Lennepkade II."
Wax Simulacra: The Mars Volta released this song as their single yesterday. Unfortunately I have not found a good quality version of the song yet. Apparently it's just getting a lot of radio play.

You can blame three things for my absence: School, Art class and World of Warcraft. Art class sucks up my creativity, WoW sucks up most of my time, and school sucks up whatever time is left. But in art class, I'm working on something BIG.

Meh. Not that I can see. I'll try to work on something, but I'll probably drop it half-way through.

I feel shittyhappy. You know, like a train wreck, but no one in the train died. It's terrible, but at least you can feel good about something. Random poetic phrases are popping into my head, like "The clouds cover the earth in a blanket of November." Perhaps I could write a poem or lyrics to a song that will never be played. I want to bow up my school as well. And there's a fly next to my lightbulb, and it's the LOUDEST fly I've ever fugging heard. Seriously, I want to shoot it. Also, my zen garden spilled so there's sand everywhere. Zen garden's are oh-so-"peaceful."

In conclusion, life is bleak, but at least music gives me something to be happy about. (As usual.)

An eye for an eye.

I was just sitting on the couch just a little while ago and I had an epiphany.
I was sitting there, drinking a soda, watching baseball, just... not moving. Is this what I want to be in the future? I'll end up to be some obese person. O_O
Here's my current situation.
I'm 15, I'm 6'0", and I weigh 200 pounds. I drink 3-4 sodas a day and I get no exercise. GAH
And then I remembered a few things from health class, like diabetes and kidney stones. I don't want either. D<
So, here's what I did.
"Dad, from now on can you only buy these Coca-Cola's (They're special ones from Mexico that have cane sugar instead of corn syrup.) and Izze's? I'd like to stop drinking corn syrup."
"Sure!"
That's that.
I also was thinking of jogging on the treadmill in the room next door every morning. Or I could start biking to school again.
I'm just tired of this pudge in the front. It's preventing me from doing so much! D':

New music!
A few of The Mars Volta's new songs have been leaked! In particular, "Aberinkula," "Wax Simulacra," and their single "Goliath." You can listen to a couple at [link] I like Wax Simulacra the best. I've already heard Goliath, as it's a cover of "Rapid Fire Tollbooth." Aberinkula is ok until the second half, and then it gets awesome. It's totally different for The Mars Volta but it sounds excellent.

My friend informed me of a remix album of Nine Inch Nail's works, titled "The Limitless Potential." This was the stuff not good enough to get onto Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D. If this is the rejected stuff, then oh shit, Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D will be FUCKING AMAZING!

Got a few Streetlight Manifesto from my bud I must say ska is not my favorite genre of music. However, this band is pretty awesome anyway. Makes me wanna skank. Huzzah.

Also, Maynard James Keenan's OTHER side project Puscifer finally released a real album. The groovy thing about Puscifer is the whole thing against censorship. That's why the album is called "V is for Vagina." But this is pretty much (Tool + A Perfect Circle) x Industrial = Puscifer. Awesome shit.

Well then, that's it. Sorry for the lack of art. I'll do some eventually.
Art class is sucking out all my creativity. Ahhhh.
But that's a good thing in a way.

I think that my sense of lighting has greatly improved. YOu can see this most in my traditional portrait section.
But, enough of how much I rock. (Because I'm self-centered)

MUSIC

Firstly, I'm conjuring up a little techno project here: [link] It's pretty cool so far, but I only have a couple of songs up. =\

Got into a band called Kayo Dot, whose genre is something called "Avant-Garde." This means that they have no form. They have no key signatures, no time signatures, and nothing to follow, except for their own music. SO the music is naturally really confusing. Even for something so new and ahead of its time, it's getting a little boring already. Good shit though, just has to be taken in small doses.

So, next me and went and bought Kaddisfly's earlier album "Buy Our Intention; We'll Buy You A Unicorn." I like this album a lot, actually. New Moon Over Swift Water is my favorite, but I also like songs like Set Sail the Prairie, The Calm of Calamity, and Let Weight Be Measured By Merit. Good album, it is.

Also, I finally got around to getting Radiohead's "In Rainbows." This album is AMAZING. I love the first song, 15 Step. Something about it is so awesome. Recent Updates~
My brother moved out, and so Halo 3 moved out. Shit.
Well, at least I played as much as I could! :< Now I have to go to his house to play, which is rarely. Looks like I have to force one of my friends to go and buy it!
And my other brother shaved his legendary beard off. Sad times.

Screw my friend Donovan for getting me into this Jhonen Vasquez person. In particular, a medley of comics compiled into a book called "Squee!" It has stories of a boy named Squee, [link] the son of the devil, [link] vomit sex, exploding babies, and horrendous violence. Just my cup of tea. I love it.

Music-wise I've been busy.
I discovered a band called The Fall of Troy. The band itself is incredible, but the singing (or screaming) takes so much away from it. It's all so angry too. I need some stuff to balance it out sometimes. But the song Spartacus is just for me. Devious, short, and sweet.

Then I discovered Lily Allen. But before I tell you how much I love her, let me tell you something~
You ever have that situation where you hear an incredible song or watch an awesome music video, but you don't get the name of it? Well, I had this case with Lily Allen. I saw her video for Alfie, and lets just say I was intrigued. It was so happy and joyful, but it was about Lilly's little pothead brother Alfie. Funny fun fun desu.
So, when I got this album and heard Alfie I exploded off my chair and hit my head on the ceiling fan. I love this whole album as well. Her songs are so happy or awesome, and then you read the lyrics and they're hilarious. Lily Allen is my hero.

And, of course, after listening to the OST for Tekkon Kinkreet a billion times, I decided to get more stuff by Plaid. The album I got is "Rest Proof Clockwork," which is an EXCELLENT album! I like "Ralome," (Inspiration for a character of mine. Guess which one!) "Little People," "Dead Sea," and "Last Remembered Thing." It's so GOOOOD. D:

Back from my little slump there.
I'm feeling much better now. n_n

And sorry for having no art for the past two weeks. I was pretty much just planning and such. And art class is extracting all my artistic-ism from me, so I have none left to spend on devART. XD
So far in art class I've done a rather nice drawing of a skeleton with charcoal and two mini-paintings, each inspired by a different artist. My two artists were Banksy and Kadinsky. It was rather fun. But right now in art class we're making bricks and we're going to make a sort of pseudo wall, and we're going to draw graffiti on it. The project sort of reminded me of [link]
I think I may do some kind of stencil work for this.

And the so-called "planning" is me just thinking about new directions I can go in. I like the one I'm heading into right now. Perhaps I could do a series or something, in the same style as [link] and [link]

Roight.

So, music-wise, a few new things...
Wait, I was on Aphex Twin last journal?
Never mind, lots of stuff. XD

First, I got another album by Aphex-Twin, "...I Care Because You Do," which wins the award for creepiest album cover ever. [link] Imagine waking up one morning and seeing that face right above you. I would soil myself.

Then I got some stuff from Aphex Twin's side project AFX. It's pretty good, but confusing, because the first song has two lines of dialogue repeating the whole time. "Mashed Potatoes..." "Mashed Potatoes? Why do you hate mashed potatoes?"

And then I got the "Richard D. James Album," which I haven't listened to yet, but I will soon~

And then I got the Windowlicker EP, because I heard it had an interesting music video. And shit, they weren't kidding when they said "Interesting." [link] The song doesn't really start until 3:52, but you should watch it all for the full effect. God, I love his dance from 4:40 to 5:10. It's so ridiculous. My random picture is just one example of his dance. XD
Oh, and the song "Windowlicker" is actually really good. I thoroughly enjoy it.

And then, something that's NOT APHEX TWIN! OMFG.
I got "The Shepard's Dog" by Iron & Wine after listening to some of it on MySpace. I think I only got this because I needed a break from anything electronic. It's really relaxing and almost Beatles-esque. Good stuff.

Movies! YAAAY!
After reading some random journal here (I forgot whose it was) I discovered a movie called "Tekkon Kinkreet." And holy shit, it looked gorgeous in the trailer. [link] Unfortunately, I couldn't find a subbed version, so I got a raw version and tried my best to watch it. I then found out it was coming to DVD really soon, like, September 25th. (Which was about a week in the future at the time.) I went ahead and ordered the DVD through amazon and got it 3 days ago. I watched it dubbed (I don't recommend doing this) and finally knew what was going on. XD It's an excellent movie.
And the soundtrack by Plaid is amazing. It's one of those things that I can NOT stop listening to. Like, holy shit. It's just so amazing. Two of the songs from it ("This City" and "White's Dream") I can not stop listening to. They sound so good, it makes me want to cry...

And, the biggie...
HALO 3. D':
It finally came out...
So, me and my brother Chris went to go get it at midnight. We left at 11:30, got there by 11:45, got our copy at 12:15, and made it home by 12:30. It was the smoothest operation we've ever done. And then we played until 4. I was tired as fecking hell the next day. XD
So, we've played 5-6 levels on campaign already. Haven't beaten it yet, but it's sort of tough on Heroic. (There's 4 difficulties, Easy, Normal, Heroic, Legendary, which are basically equivalent to Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme.) And the new multiplayer maps are GORGEOUS. I like Isolation the best. Don't know why, but it's sexy looking and it's fun to play on.

So, that's what's been going for the past two weeks or so.

More and more I see myself wanting to deface public property with artwork. In particular, the Art is Resistance logo. [link] Why? Because not only is it from one of my favorite bands, but also the message it portrays. I recently did an acrylic/spray-paint work including this logo, but... I don't feel like I've accomplished all that I could have with this. I still want to go tag my school or something.
I've been thinking about sneaking out and spraying the sidewalk next to my bus stop, but... do I have the guts?
What if I get caught?
What will I do?
What will my parents do?

Gah. Too much to think about. So much art and so little time.

Over the past couple of weeks A.I.R (Art is Resistance) has meant more to me than ever. The general message it gives out is just... genius. The very idea of it is genius. Nine Inch Nails says that A.I.R exists in 2022, I say it should exist now.

Trent Reznor is a genius for making me able to think so... rebellious, I guess.

So, I'll be uploading that acrylic/spray-paint painting eventually. Once I get a good picture of it, that is.
It's sort of difficult to scan.

And that's all for now.
If I don't make another journal that means I've been arrested for vandalism.
But I don't think they arrest you. They just fine you.

So, first things first.
Two new scraps! One is silly, [link] and the other is extremo-emo but I'm still going to color it. [link]

So, school's going alright. Although, it seems like no matter how hard I try, I have one shitty class. Right now it's LA where I have a whopping 12.5%. OH SHI-
Don't worry, my other grades are either 80% or higher. I just need to turn in late work for LA. D:

So~
Music-wise, I've only gotten a couple new albums, one of which I basically already have. =\

The one I already basically have is the remastered rerecorded reeverythinged album "Tiger & the Duke" by The Sound of Animals Fighting. Not much is different from the original album, except for some new vocals and cleaner sounds. However, it does come with 8 remixes of songs from their newer album, "Lover, The Lord Has Left Us..." I actually really love some of these songs...

The other album is something I should have gotten a LONG time ago. My friend randomly handed me a CD at my house. I was a little hesitant to put it in my computer for some reason, but when I put it in, The Postal Service's "Give Up" was played for the first, and definitely not the last time into my ears. I love each and every song on this CD. And I love how 3/10 of their songs are in some commercial. My favorites are "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight," "We Will Become Silhouettes," and "Natural Anthem" most of all. It's soooooo goooooooooood~

'Ay, guys. Sorry for the lack of journal updates, though no one really reads them anymore... D: (Except Amanda. Yay Amanda.)

So, school started. My schedule this year is mostly academic, but still really awesome. I got some great teachers!

1st period: AP World History with Mr. Palmieri. (He's an ok teacher.)
2nd period: German 2 with Frau Singer. (She's cool~)
3rd period: Advanced World Lit. and Comp with Mrs. O'Connor. (She's awesome.)
4th period: Biology with Mr. Walker. (He's awesome!)
want to congratulate her in person!


Anyway, I hit an odd spot in music in the past couple of weeks. Though it's odd I'm just glad it's something NEW!

Firstly, I got the album "projectHUMAN" by Dieselboy. Holy crap! This music can only be described as "fast." It makes me want to get in a car and go cruising down South Boulder Road at 200 miles per hour! XD It's really intense. I can't listen to it for too long at once or my head begins to hurt. xDD

Second, I got another album (Se Dice Bisonte, No Bùfalo) by Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez! I must say I like this album a lot better than A Manuel Dexterity. I only got this album because I was excited for "The Bedlam in Golitah." (The Mars Volta's new album, coming out October 30th!) It turned out the album was REALLY good.

Next, I got the only album released by a band called "Death From Above 1979." Their sound is only slightly unique, but it's how it's made that makes it unique. There are only two instruments in the band: a distorted bass guitar and drums. Though the may sound... lacking, it's the loudest and most "complete" music I've ever heard. I love it!

This album I haven't actually listened to all the way through yet, but it's "Age of Winters" by The Sword. I was cruising around on iTunes when I found this band. I thought it sounded like a more "metal" version of Wolfmother, or like Queens of the Stone Age made a baby with Wolfmother. It's good so far.

Next, I went on a Scandinavia downloading-spree, with two albums by Dungen (Sweden) and two more albums by Kaizers Orchestra. (Norway)

I've always been into Dungen, I just never bothered getting their full albums! First, I got Tio Bitar, which is their newest album. Their sound is very unique, with the songs "Visar Vägen" and "Svart Är Himlen" being my favorites! The second album I got was "Ta Det Lungt," which is just as good as Tio Bitar. My favorite song is "Du E För Fin För Mig" by far! It's so... well... the closest word I can think of is "inspiring."
And then I was telling my good bud about Dungen and he suggested a certain Norwegian band called Kaizers Orchestra! Alright, they sound interesting. He links me to their MySpace, and they sound awesome! I got two albums, "Maestro" and "Ompa til du dør." My favorite song right now is Maestro, but I haven't properly listened to all of them! I can't wait to because this band CERTAINLY has a unique sound to them!

HOLY FUCK I HATE CORN.
Being in Nebraska/Iowa/Wisconsin/Minnesota for even 4 or 5 days makes you HATE corn. And then South Dakota and Wyoming are just depressing. They're nothing but... brown.

Anyway, nothing exciting to say from the vacation. I saw a couple of celebrities at the race, which were Frankie Muniz and Paul Newman. Frankie Muniz was actually racing, but he looked really pissed because he was dead last.

Anywaaaaaaaaay~
New music! YAY!
One song by The Seatbelts, which, if you don't know, is famous for doing the OST for Cowboy Bebop. They're a great jazz group if you haven't heard of them. The song I got is called "Time to Know (Be Waltz)." I don't know what's with this song, but I love it. I usually don't actually LISTEN to jazz... but this is cool...

And then I randomly got an album by a band called "Explosions in the Sky." It's more like ambient noise, sort of like Sigur Ros. I don't know, it's pretty good, but you kind of space out when you listen to it.

And THEN I got an album by a band called Juno. I was expecting something better than what I got, but there's a few pretty good songs. I like it...

And then I decided to complete my Björk anthology, by getting the albums "Debut" and "Post." They're not nearly as good as her newer stuff but it's worth getting, definitely.

And then I was randomly searching the internet when I found out former guitarist of Limp Bizkit (One of my favorite bands from back in the day) did a solo project. I thought it was worth checking out, but I didn't expect myself to get it. But, suddenly, it's REALLY good. Like, holy crap, I was expecting something completely different. It's really good...~ THe band is called Black Light Burns, by the way~

So, that about does it. The vacation was... meh.
I could've done without it.

I've been comparing some of my recent sketches to some of my picture before Japan.
And I noticed something.
My ability to draw a proportional/anatomically correct human has skyrocketed.
How did this happen? I don't know! I didn't specifically practice on it throughout the trip! It just... happened.

I feel lucky but also perplexed.

So, believe it or not I've actually been working on something. But I'm taking my time on this. I'm not trying to do it all at once like usual.
So far I've spent about 7 hours on it. There's a preview of it in my "random image."

It's based on a song I got recently called "Hell Above Water" by Curve. I loved this song the first few times I listened to it. But after listening to it 20+ times in one day, it sort of loses its kick. But it's REALLY badass anyway. You have to turn up your volume a bunch just to listen to it.

And I am falling in love with this Kaddisfly album, "Set Sail the Prairie."
It's so cool, because it's a concept album that takes place over a year. Each song is a month, besides two songs that are Solstices. And the months in the titles of the songs are in (I believe) Hebrew. My favorite songs from the album are "Summer Solstice," "Waves (July)," "Clouds (Heshvan)," "Empire (Noyabr'," "Snowflakes (Desember)," and "Forest (Maй." That's the summer solstice, July, October, November, December, and May. Perhaps this is some metaphor showing me what my favorite months are... It sort of works. O_o

Hey, alright. I hit 4,000 pageviews!
So, a lot happening in the past week.
Once I came back I gave everyone their gifts and visited most of my friends. I got quite a welcome back! I totally missed America...

And in my last journal I asked people to vote on their favorite sketches, and it looks like most everyone posted 17 [link] in their suggestions, so I'll color that! Well, I'll color it once I'm done submitting all these pictures from Japan.

OMFGoMFGOFMGOfmgofmgfogmfomGOMoMFMGF The Chronicles of Israfel!
So I've been whoring this album out to my friends and family ever since it came out. So far, everyone I've given it to loves it! Even my brother! I was so surprised at that because he hates everything I like... D:
But this is proof that TCOI is the greatest band in existence. If you say otherwise, then you obviously haven't heard the whole album. >D
So, song ratings...

1. Starborn Part I: Empire Of Light - 11/10 - Perfect way to start off the album. It's powerful and angry, yet emotional at the same time! (Enough to get the point across)

2. Starborn Part II: Citizen - 10/10 - I can't really classify this as a song, because it blends in so well with Empire of Light that together they seem like the same song. But it's GREAT. D:

3. Starborn Part III: On A Forever Road - 10/10 - I've heard this song a million times and it will never get old! the chorus just sends chills up my spine.

4. Burning Day - 10/10 - A great vocal-based track. It really helps set the mood, and the singer sounds incredible...

5. The Equinigma - 10/10 - A softer track but extremely emotional at the same time. Now that I've heard it integrated into the album I think I finally know what it's about, and that just makes it even more incredible.

6. Laudanum - 10/10 - A little slow at first but it slowly picks up, and is totally kickin' ass by the end. Its melody and its chorus, and everything in this song is so gooooood....

7. Nation - 9.9/10 - Heard this song a million times but it will never lose its METAL. The only annoying part is the dialogue. I know, the dialogue is VITAL to the album's story, but I just... D: So it loses .1 of a point for that.

8. Born Fighting - 10/10 - This explains why this album is considered "metal." And all the whispering voices at the beginning are so COOL. D:

9. Kill Division - 9.9/10 - SO GOOD, but it's the DIALOGUE again! It just... GAH.

10. New Mood Therapy For A Medicated Babylon - 10/10 - Can a song get any better? Holy hell.

11. Eugenics - 10/10 - I actually rather like the dialogue in this. Probably because it's still singing, but you can clearly hear what they're saying. It's so powerful too. ;-;

12. Home To Oblivion - 11/10 - Something about this song is so overwhelmingly powerful. And some may complain about the war noises in the background, but I believe that adds to the whole song. It makes it... powerful. D':

13. Lacrima Christi - 10/10 - Perfect way to wrap up the album. Leaves you wondering what is to come next, and it makes you think if this is really the end of TCOI. I FUCKING HOPE NOT. D<<

So, I'm going to try and quickly describe my trip. If you want ultra-fine details message or AIM me...

So we started by taking a 12 hour plane ride to Japan. Those are NOT fun. D< Once we got off the plane in Osaka we were all pretty tired. So, what's the best thing to do after sitting on a plane for 12 hours? That's right, sit on a bus for 1.5 hours! So we got to Kyoto, and were happy with where we were staying... [link] It was a really nice hotel! So the first thing I noticed in Japan is that the food is at least 4 billion times better than in America. Seriously, even the milk is sweeter. It's crazy. So, on the 22nd we went to a shrine called Kinkakuji, [link] and then to a zen garden. I didn't bring my camera to those, but they were still beautiful. Then we went to the Kyoto History Museum, and then the house of 1000 statues. [link] You weren't really allowed to take pictures there. The next day we went to Kiyomizudera. [link] Which is ONE of the most famous temples in the world... It was incredible! THe next day we went to Himeji Castle [link] and walked around inside it and stuff. It was rather interesting. We arrived in Hiroshima after Himeji. The next day we went to Miyajima, where we saw like, the quintessential image for Japan, which was [link] a giant Tori. The next day we went to the Atom Bomb Museum. It was... horrifying... I felt bad as an American to be there... D:... The next day we took a 4-5 hour Shinkansen ride to Tokyo. We had trouble finding our hotel, unfortunately... The next day we did some Tokyo shopping. I looked for clothes but didn't find anything in my size. (It's hard to shop if you're 6 feet tall in Japan) Damn you Shibuya and your bigotry towards tall people! We were done by about 6pm and went to Yonezawa. The next day we had a massive lunch and then went to a high school! I met some old friends from the dragon boat fest last year! They were all doing well, and then they gave us a tour of the school. After that we went to Karaoke!@!!@!!211 I sang like, 3 songs... it was rather interesting, but fun. It was also fun trying to sing Arch Enemy on there. That's right, they had Arch Enemy on the karaoke list. XD The next day we hung out with English students and had activities and a scavenger hunt. Fun times. On July 1st we went to Yamagata, where we met the people who would be taking care of us for the next 5 days. My host family was super-nice, and let me play their Wii. XD And everyone in my host family was a Miyazaki fanatic, so we watched one of his movies every night. The next two days we went to Yamasho, the local high school! It was interesting, but it was also a little boring. But they, it's school! On July 4th we went to Yamadera, where we hiked up 1000 steps to the top. It was vigorous but rewarding... So then we tried on Yukata's and painted kokeshi dolls. Mine looked so terrible, but it was fun anyway. XD The next day we did zazen, which is basically X-Treme Meditation. If you lost your concentration they would hit you on the shoulder with a stick. I didn't get hit though! After that we went cherry picking! The fun part was not eating them, but spitting the seeds at people once you were done! We had some insane seed wars. XD After that we went to a local art college!!! I loved seeing the works there. It was... REALLY interesting. I wish I could go there but I'd get really homesick! Then we went to our farewell party! It was fun, but sad knowing you were going to leave your host family. The next morning was VERY sad, as we all had to leave our host families! Once we got to Tsuruoka, we did some shopping and Purikura, and then we went to the Onsen. (Japanese Hot Springs) It was SO relaxing! so we got to our Youth Hostel at about 11pm, and I was ready to DIE. However, we had a chance to go night-canoing to see glowy plankton. Sure, why not! I'm only in Japan only once! it was beautiful, and worth it, even if we did get back at 1. The next day we did more canoing, but we went further out into the sea! So, this'll probably be my last FULL journal entry for an entire month. I better make it totally awesome. >D

So, uh. Lots of crap happening lately.
The reason for the lack of deviations lately is this. [link] It's a map for my brother. Took 5 hours for the map and another 5 for animating the map... I'm proud of it!
And for doing this, my brother went out and no nicely bought me Mario Party 8.
It's so much fuuuuuuuuuun. The maps are actually different now! No more "Go get the star for 20 coins. Its location changes once you do so." No. Hell no. Now it's more like "OMG! King Boo is hidden somewhere in his mansion! Be the first to find him to buy a star for 10 coins! BUT BEWARE! Once you get the star, the whole house REARRANGES!"
It's flippin' sweet.

So I already unlocked one of the characters and the only map you can unlock...
Funfun.

As for music, I got into a band, got a band's old album, and got a band's NEW album!

Firstly, I got two albums by Placebo! This band is awesome... And the singer, Brian Molko, has the MOST distinctive voice you can imagine. It's like a crazy mix between the Boom Boom Satellite's singer and The Smashing Pumpkin's singer. And the music itself is awesome. It almost sounds like Orgy. (But it's happier at times.)
PLACEBO IS A GOOD BAND.

And then I got Tiger & the Duke by The Sound of Animals Fighting. I actually got this album because I thought it was a new one released by them, however it was an older album that was released in 2005. It's REALLY good though. It sounds a lot like The Mars Volta...

And then, I finally got around the getting "Era Vulgaris" by Queens of the Stone Age. Definitely not their best album, but excellent nonetheless. My favorite song is definitely River In the Road. I don't know why... It's so cool...



And I got around to seeing Ocean's 13. Awesome movie. Better than Ocean's 12, not as good as Ocean's 11. =\

So, my friend Emily (www.jangle-00.deviantart.com), at her school I guess in the newspaper the always have this feature where they take a random kid and have him put his iPod on shuffle, then have him talk about why he has each song and stuff. So, she did it her journal and now me too!
Here we go:

1. Yurameki ~Dir en grey
I got this song when I went and downloaded an assload of Dir en grey. I love this song though, and the album it's off of. (Gauze) I <3 Dir en grey...

2. Kinda I Want To ~Nine Inch Nails
This is probably my favorite off of their album "Pretty hate Machine." It's one of five-star songs in my library. (Which is a huge accomplishment. 85/2565 of my songs are five-star) Awesome sooong...

3. Sing for Absolution ~Muse
Used to be one of my favorite songs back in the day. (Like, before I got my own computer) I grew out of it though. I'm actually having an odd feeling of Deja Vu listening to it now...

4. Bliss ~Muse
Same thing as Sing for Absolution, except I liked this before Sing for Absolution. So it's bringing back MORE old memories. Holy crap. *travels back in time*

5. Amsterdam [Smith & Pledger Remix] ~Luminary
I got this song along with many others in my ultra-trance phase. It's from the Anjunabeats record company. Oh man, I love trance. Each beat is so powerful and gives off its own meaning. Great shit for dancing.

6. The Dolphin's Cry ~Live
HOLY SHIT. I liked this song 8 years ago. Huge flashbacks now... T_T STOP THEM! This song is still good when I listen to it, but I don't like it nearly as much...

7. Hooker with A Penis ~Tool
Gots to love Tool, even if the names for their songs are... um... *cough* Still a good song though. I got this on a Tool binge after 10,000 Days came out.

8. Processed Beats ~Kasabian
Anything by this band is awesome. I remember a few years ago I got Club Foot and never bothered to get anything else by them. Then, recently, their new record Empire came out and it was awesome. So I thought I might as well go and download their s/t album (which had Processed Beats on it). It's a LOT better than Empire...

9. A Certain Shade Of Green ~Incubus
I love this song, and I vaguely remembered the music video when told me about it. I love their album S.C.I.E.N.C.E, but this isn't my favorite song... My favorite is probably Magic Medicine. Such a weird song...

10. Gauze -Mode of Adam- ~Dir en grey
Despite the short length and pointlessness of this song, it's one of my favorites by Dir en grey. It was the first song I listened to when I downloaded them, and it set the standards PRETTY high for every other song. =\

Science - 89% - Final Grade 86% - B
Geography - 89% - Final Grade 90% - A
Math - 81%, 46% - Final Grade 70% - C (weighted)
Gym - 100% - Final Grade 89% - B
LA - 80% - Final Grade 75% - C (weighted)
German - 100% - Final Grade 90% - A
Programming - 70% - Final Grade 68% - D

So, only one REALLY bad grade, but it's in a class that no one should give a shit about anyway. And if you're wondering why I didn't get and A in gym is because I never took this really important running test, and when I tried to make it up I was sick... =[

Oh well, I think my GPA is like, pi. So that's good enough.

But, two A's. That's better than last year.

So, music. DREDG! This band is so good. I really can't decide what my favorite song is, but my favorite album is El Cielo. "Eighteen People Living In Harmony" is a great song, so is "Sanzen" and "Of the Room" and "Woah Is Me" and EVERYTHING ELSE GAH!

And I finally finished listening to Saturday Night Wrist by The Deftones. When I hit "Pink Cellphone" I could not stop listening to it. There's this voice in the chorus that stays at this incredibly low note. It just makes it awesome...

So, that's about it.
12 days until I go to Japan, by the way.

BAH Humbug.
One more week left of school.
But there's one problem.
That week is...
FINALS WEEK.
D:
I'm ready for them, I just don't want to go to school. XD
So, on Monday I have finals for 1st (Science) and 5th (LA). I should do well on science because I got 100% on the last finals. LA is easy because it's just on Romeo & Juliet. I know that story inside and out.

On Tuesday I have 2nd (Geography) and 6th (German). Geography will be easy because it's Geography. German is easy because I don't have to take the written test! Why? Because I placed 1st in a German competition a while back. So I just have to do the easy part really well, and then I get to leave school at 12. Hurrah.

Wednesday, I have 3rd (Math) and 7th (Programming). Math will probably be the hardest out of all the finals because, well, I simply hate Math. Programming will be REALLY easy, because it's programming.

Thursday, we go on a Bagel Walk for PE. A Bagel Walk means we walk a mile and get to have to greatest lunch ever. (Pizza, Bagels, Soda, Coffee, Yum!!) And then we go back to school, and go home for GOOD.

No more freshman-ism in a little bit. ;D

Firstly, I got Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez's "A Manual Dexterity: Soundtrack Volume One." It's the guitar player from The Mars Volta's solo album. It's... okay. It's not The Mars Volta though. =[

I also got two albums by an electronica artist called Unkle. OH MY GOD this band is awesome. Some of the songs like "UNKLE Main Title Theme" and "Eye For An Eye" I just can't stop listening to.

And right now I have "Saturday Night Wrist" by The Deftones and "Eat Me, Drink Me" by Marilyn Manson. I'm trying to get through them but another artist is interfering...

THAT BAND IS NINE INCH NAILS!!
Yes, I suddenly got a craving for Nine Inch Nails. I really wanted to listen to all of their albums, so I did! I started with The Downward Spiral, and that turnedout to be my favorite...
And I got their DVD. (Daniel W, if you want to watch it with me come on over)
The DVD is incredible. Though it lacks songs from Year Zero, it's still GREAT.

And that's about it.
I saw Shrek 3 and it sucked.
I wanna see Pirates 3. D:

I FEEL SO CLEAN!!!
I don't know why...

Anyway, sorry for the lack of art/overflow of crappy art. I haven't really been feeling it lately...
And sorry, no more somnambulistic drawings. That was a one-time thing, I suppose.
But OH MAN I've been so randomly happy lately. Mother's Day was a great day for me, despite it not being a day for me. My mum took us all out to this extreme brunch. OH MY GOD it was so good. They had strawberries and chocolate strawberries and omelettes and waffles and key lime pie and sushi!!! I had like, 6 veggie rolls. I got some for mom (And some unagi) but I had to teach her how to use chop-sticks. By the end I had eaten a crapload yet I didn't feel like crap. It was just this odd sensation of FULLNESS. (You know, the kind where you're full without being sick)
And then I had an extreme feeling of accomplishment because I mowed the shit out of my lawn. Then I did the trimming, and listened to my favorite song while doing so. Then I backed out my mom's car from the garage (which is a huge accomplishment for me) and washed her car for her as a present. I pulled it back into the garage too!
Then my brother picked me up to take me to his house. I got to see my long-lost cat Calvin!! (Calvin was taken to live at Chris' house a couple of months ago. He looked so happy. n_n) And as if that wasn't enough, I got to play the Halo 3 Beta. THE HALO 3 BETA. THE HALO 3 BETA!!!!! And before it went public too. OMG it was so incredible. My favorite level is Valhalla and...
OMFG yes. I was so happy.
And then I came home and there was 20$ on my keyboard for mowing the lawn. Funfun.

What a good day.

Anyway, as for music I got a couple of new albums.
Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight. This one gets a massive sad face from me. It really let me down...
I just don't like it as much. It's not that great.

But then I got the Spider-Man 3 Soundtrack, which I'm still running through. I got it mainly because Wolfmother had a new song on it. It's called "Pleased to Meet You" and the first thing I thought when I heard it was, "Wow, this would be incredible for Guitar Hero." It's a great song.

Two new songs up. "New Mood Therapy" and "The Equinigma."
The Equinigma is seriously one of the best songs I've heard in a while...
Also, as for music, I got some music by the following bands/people: Muse, Björk, and Porcupine Tree.
The Muse CD was the "Hullabaloo Soundtrack," which I mainly got for the song "Shrinking Universe." I heard the song in the trailer for 28 Weeks Later and had to get it!
Björk, well, yeah. I was rummaging around on iTunes, and ended up at her music. I never liked her, but the last time I listened to her was like, 7 or 8 years ago? So I listened to "Earth Intruders" and immediately fell in love. I got "Volta" and "Homogenic."
As for Porcupine Tree, I was trying to get In Absentia by them for the longest time, but it never finished. It... finished. So far, it's better than the other albums I have by them!



So, time for the weird stuff and an explanation on why this journal is entitled as it is.
Now, I never sleepwalked too often. Maybe once a year I would wake up in the basement even though I went to bed in my room. However, that was just, moving around.
I think last night I actually got up and drew something. I say "I think" because I'm not sure whether or not this is some obscure hoax, but...

Sorry for the lack of art so far this month. School's been a bitch. And my weekends have been sort of busy...
But Kayla sent out a stick figure request since I had given up on commissions. I'm probably going to color that this weekend...

WOO! 4/20! I'm going to do so many drugs!
Like Tylenol, and Advil, and maybe some Nyquil. (But sometimes that stuff just SCREWS ME UP)
4/20 is stupid...

I completed putting all of the Incubus into my iTunes. My favorite albums are probably S.C.I.E.N.C.E and Light Grenades.

After that, I got the new Nine Inch Nails CD. Dear GOD it's amazing. After seeing all of their crazy "Presence" stuff this album makes so much sense to me. It's almost like he (Trent Reznor) made a score for a movie that doesn't exist...

And then I randomly got "Lullabies to Paralyze" by Queens of the Stone Age. It's a good album, with a few great songs here and there. "Someone's in the Wolf" is probably my favorite off the album...

Lastly, I got "City Boom Boom" and "Gambit" by Julien Lourau. Now, usually I'm not too into jazz, but this is really cool for some reason. I haven't listened all the way through each album yet though. I got half-way through "City Boom Boom" and then started listening to "Gambit." Then I started listening to that but got stuck at the song "Conrod." I couldn't stop listening to that song. It's SO COOL.

Anyway, I want to see Hot Fuzz...

I really do love this band, it's just I sometimes can't STAND the singing. It sounds like the guy is REALLY drunk. However, songs like 9 Doors Empire and Loaded make up for this in badassity. And I still love the BBS' song "Underdog."

A Weekend in the City by Bloc Party
This band is REALLY great. The album contains mostly catchy tunes and such, but there are some songs that show a great amount of thinking and stuff, like "Where is Home?" I did a picture based off of that song. D:

Myths of the Near Future by Klaxons
I jsut got this album and I haven't had the chance to listen to all of it, but so far it's great. "Two Receivers" is easily a 5-Star song. The only thing that made me sad was I thought "Four Horsemen of 2012" was really a 20 minute long progressive masterpiece. However, it just has a hidden track, so there's lik, 12 minutes of silence... :<

I finally got an album I've been waiting to get for a long time. n_n
Dungen's self-titled album. It's totally balls-tripping music, but I love it. Stadsvandringar is so happy, and it makes me want to dance like and idiot. Midsommerbongen makes me wants to just sit at one place and act like I'm on drugs. I don't even know about Lilla Vaennen...
Great album though. Totally worth 10 bucks.

I also got volumes 1 and 2 of anjunabeats. I love this record company. All of the songs are so good, and they blend into each other so well...
It makes me want to have a rave...

For the past few weeks I've been going through the toughest thing for a person to go through. (Besides kidney stones and having a baby)

Yeah, what I said about the Dynamic Symmetry. WAY too complicated. I thought I'd be in the mood for drawing like, 17 things at once. However, I only drew 1/17th of a picture, and gave up. Go me.

I saw a movie the other day (Actually, it was one movie split into two parts) called Kill Bill.
HOLY HELL.
That movie was ridiculous. In a good way, of course. I loved it.
The directing style was so wacky and terribly awesome. And some of the lines you were just like "What?" but it was still awesome anyway.
For example.
Oren: Did you really think it would be that easy?
Beatrix: Yeah, for a second there, I kinda did.
Oren: Silly rabbit...
Beatri: ...Trix are for kids.

...XD

I got the Kill Bill soundtrack too. Lots of crazy stuff.
Also, I got a CD called "Pocket Symphony" by Air. It's like someone took the band Mew and the band Sigur Ros, and they made those bands make a sweet baby. I really like "Napalm Love."
And lastly, I of course got the two songs from Vinnie Veritas' new Flash cartoon, Eres Veneno, [link] , because Vinnie is awesome.
