Yeah. I'm starting one, partially to keep me busy this summer, and partially because I need a personal outlet, and my DA journal isn't cutting it.

Here is what the blog will/may be about:

- My father passed away a little over two yers ago and now it's just me and my mother. Since his death we have been doing a lot to make our five-year-old house more...ours. Better furniture, more efficient cleaning methods, putting up curtains, etc. This summer's project is the garden; a fifty by thirty foot patch of utter maddness which we would like to reclaim and start over. I'm not exactly new to gardening, but if I really get invovled in this it would be one hell of a learning expirence, and thus would make a good blogging subject.

-I am in the beginning stages of writing a novel, and while I'm not comfortable posting art online (deviantART has shown me just how many outrageously desperate art thieves there are out there), it would be interesting to keep a blog about the process of writing a novel.

Right now I think I'll combine these two ideas and see which one proves more sucsessful and go from there. Readers, if you exist outside my imagination, which idea sopunds more interesting to you? Of course there will alawys be a few "Writer's Personal Interest" post, but I promise I will try to keep on track.

Where YOU Come In:
The blog needs a name. Right nopw it is Slowlane (the name my father chose for our new home when he needed an offical name for his horse-training business), but I don't really like that so any sugestions would be AWESOME! At the moment I'm considering calling it (shoot me if it helps) "The Neanderthal's Houseboat," or on the other hand, "The Green Room," 'cause green is my favorite color, I want to paint my bedroom green, everything in my dreamhouse is GREEN........So whadda ya think?

This cycle of discrimination against girls must end now.

I urge you to support three simple actions that would improve the lives of millions of girls in developing countries:
Require birth registration, which will protect girls from early marriage, child labor, and enable them to vote and get jobs;
Ensure that girls benefit as much as boys from aid money given to education in developing countries; and
Help create a procedure that would enable girls and boys to voice complaints against their governments.
You can help give girls the equal legal and education rights they deserve. Supporting and educating girls is not just the right thing to do: investing in girls promotes economic growth and reduces child mortality and malnutrition.

Please take immediate action to end discrimination against girls by declaring your support.

"People will judge you on what you can build, not what you destroy."
--Barack Obama, Inaugural Address.

I found out just a few days ago that Barack Obama was adopted into the Crow Nation whilst campaigning on the reservation, making him the first president to campaign in Indian territory. His Native American name is Barack Black Eagle.

Someone whom I know (an avid Republican) posted on her Facebook today that "This is how liberty dies-to thunderous applause."
First point: Star Wars isn't the real world-please try not to take too many life leasons from it.
Second point: For eight years now what you have asserted was freedom was only a cloak of security which veiled the removal of your civil liberties. You have your guns, but nothing else. Read the Constitution of the United States of America and see what you have lost. See what will be returned to you with great sound and fury.

There are some men in this world for which the only proper way to describe them is as a Prince. Today, watching this inauguration, I have seen the proof the Obama trully is a Prince of the people. Not only of Americans, but of the whole human race. He shows a genuine nearness to humanity which no leader has shown us in decades, and behaves with great dignaty and love. He is a man for the world, a man for all seasons, he is the wind that shakes the barley.

1. How long have YOU been dolling?
I think it was eight grade that I discovered pixel art, so almost seven years. Wow.

2. You have to like something about it; what is it? What do you enjoy dolling?
I've never been especially good at hand-drawing, although I do love to do it, so dolling is agreat way to display characters from stories I write. Also, I love creating clothes and fiddling around with colors, so dolling serves many purposes for me.

3. What do you HATE dolling, eh? You know, clothes, hair..
Shoes are hell on toast for me, and I've yet to create a hemline on a skirt that does not touch the ground which I was ever completly satisfied with. *If anyone knows of some good tutorials for these things, please send me the link!*

4. Your favorite part of your dolls, usually is:
Hair, ruffles and I'm almost ready to say folds. I'll give that one a few more months.

5. What do you put the most effort into: clothes/hair/stuff..or base editing?
Definatly folds and shading.

6. Bases are a staple of the dolling community. Do you like using them, or do you prefer to go baseless?
I always use bases. Someday I'd like to try going baseless, but not quite yet.

7. Not all dollers are basemakers..are you?
I'm getting there. I've made a few but only published one (my siamese twin base).

8. Are you part of any dolling forums?
I was on The Gathering, but now I stick to Glam! and my username there is Colonel Fitzgordon.

9. This community can suck ass sometimes. List for us FOUR pet peeves when it comes to the doll community, that you just wanna strangle people for:
-Overly harsh critics. If you want to help someone improve there art, you're not going to get anywhere dragging them down.
-On the other hand, I've seen a lot over really kind and constructive critiques out there which the dollers in question get irrationally angery at. Everyone needs improvement, and these people are only trying to help!
-Contests which die off and contestants who constantly fail to meet deadlines.
-Obvious Frankendolling. Can't you even put some effort into ripping people off if it's so hard to make your own art?

10. But there's awesome people here, too! List three of your favorite dollers.
-Suzy over at The Doll on the Hill Factory was my first true inspiration to create dolls of my own and the quality of her art has never let me down.
-Pyrochan always amazes me. Her style, her colors, designs, bases, it's all too good for words!
-Bona at The Daft Empire makes the best perp sized dolls in the community, and she does them in pixel shading. Yeah, she's my hero.

Speaking of three people..
Tag three dollers to do this.
Well, I think a lot of you have already done this, but give it a whirl if you haven't yet.

For the first time in my life, I'm writing a story with unbridled enthusiasm and I'm actually getting somewhere with it. My problem? Time. School is far from difficult this symester, but it is especially time consuming. I've taken five courses at once before, and now with only four courses and only four days of school a week, I have somehow been tricked into double the workload. I would go to school everyday if it meant no homework, because I just want to write. The worst part is that I may have to take an intersession corse, so I won't be able to write in January either. I need like, three weeks of uninterupted writing, and I could build the momentum to just finish the whole book! I'm THAT into it, but that's just not going to happen.
However, I'm not giving up. I've finished the first chapter, and I'm willing let my grades slip a little if it gets this done. I shouldn't be made to feel guilty for persuing my career god damn it!!! Oh well, off to write a four page paper on why Dracula is the worst novel EVER (and I will stand by that statment if anyone has the balls to argue this point)!!!

I doubt I'll be putting the whole thing up on the web, where things get snatched at the drop of a hat, but some of it will preview here, I promise.

In the wide wide world of pixels: I've been pixeling more characters from my science fiction story, so expect to see them soon.

Several of my friends here on DA have expressed a wish to draw my character, Duchess Nboondra Santuari Lion's Blood, so I've decided to have a contest here to see who can create a picture that best represents her character. It does not necessarily have to be exactly accurate to the character concept design.

Judging: I'm going to be doing judging this contest in dolling community fashion, i.e., there will be first, second and third place awards, a people's choice award, most accurate award, a most humorous award (if applicable), as well as individual judge's choice awards, depending on how many judges I muster. Awards will come in the form of pixel art, Lj icons, features in my journal, and award banners.

What is required to enter: An image or snippet of literature depicting Santuari. I will accept anything, so long as it is not stolen art. While I would like to see relative similarities between your entry and the reference, remember, I want you to elaborate. Use your own ideas! Find your own inspiration!

To enter: Simply add a comment to this journal with a link to your entry. The contest will remain open until December 1st.

Reference Pictures:
Here is the primary image for you to work with:
[link]
Other pictures by myself include (Note: Santuari is the dark-skinned one in all these pictures):
[link]
[link]

My friend Kati was nice enough to draw me her idea of Santuari, which can be found here:
[link]

My Face-Reference of Santuari is Olympic Athlete Sherri Howard, whose website and photo gallery can be found here:
[link]

Here is Santuari's Biography:
She was born Nboondra Lion's Blood, the only child of the Duke of Jepica. She was muscular in an age when women were meant to be dainty, and was a much-respected warrior. She was always most at home in the desert, or in her capitol city of Jepica. At sixteen she was set to marry the emperor’s eldest son (Not for love, but for the security of her position and the safety of her people), but her rival Sabelle Dawn Fisher stole him away from her. To make amends, the emperor offered his younger son Elzenox to her in marriage, but Elzenox was ambitious to rise to power through a religious order that stood harshly opposed to Santuari's religion, so he killed her father in order to render her defenseless. Nboondra violently executed the father's killers, gaining herself the title of "Santuari," Patron Goddess of Head Hunters. She was suspicious that her future husband was behind her father's death, but she was helpless to do anything. Her rivalry with Sabelle (who had since become Empress) never ceased, and after Sabelle was brutally murdered, her daughter Morahgen took up her mother's mission to make Santuari's life hell. Santuari and her husband had an unhappy marriage, and had two sons, the eldest of which was named Gwalahnu. When Santuari and Elzenox separated, he took Gwalahnu away from her, and did his best to poison the boy against her. The other son Adlahem was little comfort to her, for although she sought to make him a man of conscience, he grew to be a fanatic, and was eventually killed in a failed revolution, fighting against his father. However, just before the revolution, Gwalahnu began to doubt his place at his father's side, and chose to join his brother in battle. He survived, but was then imprisoned by Elzenox, and after his release his returned to Santuari. She forgave him for his years of animosity towards her, and named him her heir. Eventually the revolution succeeded and Santuari was able to free her people from religious persecution. During the time of the revolution, she had cast off the title of Duchess and called herself a queen, and renounced the alliance with the empire. After her victory, the remained a duchess of the empire, but at her death, the new emperor Malntesso ordered her to be buried beside his mother Sabelle as her equal and a queen.

This is not what I want. I am dreaming bigger, I am uncontented with kitch and the bland upper-middle-classes, with their quaint collections and their battle-axe social dynamics and the silent Macbeth who comes to stab you in the dark. I want the spice of life without being told to finish my dinner, and a life with old wisdom but without old laws. I'm all for a Polish blood-feud if it will end the cold war, and all the while I know the Russians arn't half the threat I'm supposed to think they are, but then I let him tell me all those fantasies of domestic up-heval because that is easier than actually going to war. I want the cure, not the cause, and while I know that isn't the best way to get things done, I'm also well aware of why we still don't know who offed J.F.K. Much to my discontent, he is hell-bent for the cause, and never the twain shall meet. I've finally admitied to myself that if everything were to go right at this very instant, I still wouldn't have half the things I desire. What the cure for this is I don't know at this time, but for the moment, solution is to find another Irishman and get piss-roaring drunk. Sadly, I can find no Irishmen, and I live in fucking Massachusetts, so I may just stick my head in the sand again. Forutne favors the bold. I hope I forget all of this in the morning.

This is a song that I heard a long, long time ago, and when I heard it again a few days back, it knovked me right over. Please reflect:

MAGDALENE LAUNDRIES

I was an unmarried girl
I'd just turned twenty-seven
When they sent me to the sisters
For the way men looked at me
Branded as a jezebel
I knew I was not bound for Heaven
I'd be cast in shame
Into the Magdalene laundries

Most girls come here pregnant
Some by their own fathers
Bridget got that belly
By her parish priest
We're trying to get things white as snow
All of us woe-begotten-daughters
In the steaming stains
Of the Magdalene laundries

Prostitutes and destitutes
And temptresses like me--
Fallen women--
Sentenced into dreamless drudgery ...
Why do they call this heartless place
Our Lady of Charity?
Oh charity!

These bloodless brides of Jesus
If they had just once glimpsed their groom
Then they'd know, and they'd drop the stones
Concealed behind their rosaries
They wilt the grass they walk upon
They leech the light out of a room
They'd like to drive us down the drain
At the Magdalene laundries

Peg O'Connell died today
She was a cheeky girl
A flirt
They just stuffed her in a hole!
Surely to God you'd think at least some bells should ring!
One day I'm going to die here too
And they'll plant me in the dirt
Like some lame bulb
That never blooms come any spring
Not any spring
No, not any spring
Not any spring

Distrust is the seed of the discontent that leads to desention.
Terror has no meaning, nor rhyme, nor reason. Often, it consits of many shades of yellow and brown, NEVER puple.
A three legged dog chased a car past my house the other day. I miss Dad, but life goes on, even when we have lost a critical limb. Amputees can walk, and I will still be alive tomorrow.
I was raised an only child in an open field, but I was never alone, for I had characters. My plan in life is to endure great things and never become embitttered.
A good line will rock the boat in which our mind sails, and its wind will carry us to new and uncharted waters.

Needed that other journal entry to be gone. I'm doing alright.
I'm torn between which of my books I want to devote my time to, "The Sun Gods" or "Jasper on the River." I have lots of great ideas for "Gods" but I'm in the mood to work on "Jasper," so that may be the one I go with for now. "Gods" is epic in every sense of the word, but that is exactly why I don't really want to poke at it too much right now, and sometimes if I just let it fester, I think of ways to make it better. With everything going on in my life right now (My Dad's passing, Scholarships, College, School, etc.), the small scale of "Jasper" is a real comfort, even though it deals with large issues. Not to mention, it's centered around my favorite character, Ben.

IN other news, I saw "Pan's Labyrinth" a little while ago, and it is by far one of the greatest movies I have seen in a long, long time.
I guess it was just time to get that thuper looong journal entry outta' there, and tack on some production notes to the grand affair that is the me.

1) In relation to the title, I have re-vamped the anti-heroes of my story "The Sun Gods," which means that Arnon is now butch, even to the point of having butch apparel (at least until he goes to prison), Blain has developed a more working class mannerism, and Gwalahnu has grown a serious side. Gone are the days of fast women and booze. They will now be taken only in moderation, along with a tall glass of manly angst.

2) I'm now done w/ my two english classes , and will now have lots of time to write, plus my writing mentor has started up another after school program!. Exspect mucho prose for "The Sun Gods," "Jasper on t he River," and maybe even "Caesar's Flying Club."

3) My friend has asked me to come up with a script for a comic she is doing, so the little room down the hall in my mind has the door cracked open, and I can hear a typewriter tapping away.

4) A map of Bonishroaden is on my Photoshop drawing board, along with some dolls, among them the new Arnon.

6) Other news: Tuesday marks six monthes that I have been with Chris!

Eliot Wilder Has more to say in two lines than you and I do in a month.

His photographs are here ---> [link] on DA, but his jem of website, and he amazing insights, can be found here ---> [link]
Here are some examples of his uberness:

Gladstone said to Disraeli, "I predict, Sir, that you will die either by hanging or of some vile disease." Disraeli replied, "That all depends, sir, upon whether I embrace your principles or your mistress."

"Death is a dialogue between the spirit and the dust."

As I emerged from the valley out of the fog into the sunshine ... the fire at the edge of the pasture ... the potatoes in the ashes ... the boat-house far off at the lake ... the Southern Cross, the Far East, the High North, the Wild West, the Great Bear Lake! The Isles of Tristan de Cunha. The Mississippi Delta. Stromboli. The old houses of Charlottenburg. Albert Camus. The morning light. The child's eyes. Swimming at the waterfall ... the first raindrop spots. The sun. Bread and wine. Skipping. Easter. The veins of leaves. The waving grass. The colors of the stones. The pebbles on the creek bed. The white tablecloth in the open air. The dream of the house in the house. The person asleep in the next room. Sunday's peacefulness. The horizon. The light from the room ... in the garden. The night plane. Biking with no hands. The beautiful stranger.

Listen, just bring me a mint, coffee and a pillow, and I'll relax. Do you have any Dramamine? I think I'm out of my depths. You see, my problem is whenever I go to a funeral I don't know whether to laugh, cry or demonstrate floral arrangements. I've failed to adopt a point of view over Palestine. The shrines, the fossils, the history, the sheer incoherence of it all is a form of amnesia, like being trapped in a burning temple wearing a pair of shorts and suspenders and performing a traditional folk dance, thinking: Help me ... save me ... catalog me ... look me up in books to find out who I am ... what I've done ... and I'll say, "Thank you. Thank you very much. Very nice of you. I appreciate it. I really do. You have a kind heart. A good soul. I won't forget this. Ever again."

Goodbye 117 Park Drive. I hope that some day someone will dig out what I'm sure is a dead body buried under the back stairwell. The putrid odor is fairly overwhelming (as are the flies). Clue to the cops: talk to Tony, the slimy old geezer in apartment 22. He's been boasting to me about his Mafia connections for years.

Spot the pattern: Adolf Hitler, failed painter; Fidel Castro, failed baseball player; Charles Manson, failed pop star; Kim Jong-il, failed movie producer.\

It's amazing what we do, as people, to run away from the past. God, the swamplands we're willing to wade through to get around the truth.

An unjust war rages on, thousands die, and you, youth of America - with your disaffection, cell phones and McDonald's obesity - do next to nothing to stop it. Initiate a draft, I say, and see how quickly your rampant passivity will finally turn to outrage.

Good rock 'n' roll ... I don't know. I guess it's just something that makes you feel alive.... To me, good rock 'n' roll also encompasses other things, like Hank Williams and Charlie Mingus and a lot of things that aren't strictly defined as rock and roll. Rock 'n' roll is like an attitude, it's not a musical form of a strict sort. It's a way of doing things, of approaching things. Like anything can be rock 'n' roll. -Lester Bangs

Georgian heritage + Medieval Hungarian Christmas Music = TOTAL ARNON INSPIRATION THAT I'M SOOO NOT GOING TO ACT ON!!! Later in the season. The winter muse is on the prowel.

Speaking of muses, the Benjamin has landed. I have a final project to do for english, which is totally just going to be an excerpt form "Jasper on the River" with an alternate ending. This means that the real Jasper will be on a MILD hiatus, but I'm not gonna just slack-off and do something else (I promise you, Colleen!) because I really love this project (it is my oldest one, after all!) and there's nothing that can un-inspire me for a long ass time so long a Ben is in anyway connected to the story.

As far as "The Sun Gods" goes, well, it goes. Just like always. Since I'm following my Jasper story at the moment, I'm really just tweaking this story's plot for now and writing it disgustingly out of order, but that dreaded first chapter *shudders* IS under the knife as we speaks, so that could consivably be up for your enjoyment by the end of the year. I'm getting an operation on the twenty-sixth, so that will leave me with TONS of free time. Right now, however, I'm doing an enormous pixel project for this book, which will definatly be the best graphic art I hav ever done, and I owe it all to The Doll on the Hill Factory: [link]

1.Victoria
2.Caesar
3.Ben
4.Alasdair
5.Chetoni
6.Blain
7.Santuari
8.Arnon
9.Malntesso
10.Gwen
11.Morahgen
12.Patricia

01) Who would make a better college professor, 6 (Blain) or 11 (Morahgen)? Blain! Morahgen is NOT a beneficial force in anyone’s educational career, whereas I couldn’t think of anyone better than Blain to teach the fact of life.

02) Do you think 2 (Caesar) is hot? How hot? Yes, very hot. Like, River Phoenix hot. He’s hot.

03) 12 (Patricia) sends 8 (Arnon) on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed? Become classy, like her, and no, probably not. He’s basically hopeless.

04) What is or would be 9's (Malntesso) favorite book? An biography of his grandfather, because he has a complex. BIG one.

05) Would it make more sense for 2 (Caesar) to swear loyalty to 6 (Blain), or the other way around? Caesar does NOT swear loyalty to anyone but himself. That, my dears, is why he lost him kneecap. Likewise, Blain would only swear loyalty to an honorable man, which Caesar is not.

06) For some reason, 5 (Chetoni) is looking for a roommate. Should he/she share a studio apartment with 9 (Malntesso) or with 10 (Gwen)? Malntesso, because Chetoni is a gentleman, and has a pretty good relationship with his nephew, anyway.

07) 2 (Caesar), 7 (Santuari) and 12 (Patricia) have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss? An Italian restaurant, because Caesar and Patricia are Italian, and they would most likely discuss politics and cultural differences.

08) 3 (Ben) challenges 10 (Gwen) to a duel. What happens? Good question! Yes, Ben is a prizefighter and a hit man, but Gwen is a chieftain and quite the hair-puller in her own right. Either way, it would be a great fight.

09) If 1 (Victoria) stole 8's (Arnon) most precious possession, how would s/he get it back? It would be her horse, so he’d probably just walk into her stables and get it, seeing as he’s that kind of unimaginative person with no sense of stealth.

10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 (Santuari) and 12 (Patricia) both attain what they most desire. “Unquestioned Nobility.”

11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 (Alasdair) and 1 (Victoria) to work together? I believe the term is “Time machine.”

12) If 7 (Santuari) visited you for the weekend, how would you get along? I’d try not to argue with her, because I don’t want her to cut off my head and shrink it and send it to a shaman for a discount price.

13) If you could command 3 (Ben) to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be? Be my best friend!

14) Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11 (Morahgen)? Sarah actually drew the very first picture of her EVER, and Sam has written stuff for me on all-night writing parties.

15) If 2 (Caesar) had to choose sides between 4 (Alasdair) and 5 (Chetoni), which would it be? Impossible, because Chetoni and Alasdair are on the same side of everything.

16) What might 10 (Gwen) shout while charging into battle? "GWENDALE VICTOR!" Sans “Victor.”

17) If you chose a song to represent 8 (Arnon), which song would you choose? “Maclain of Glencoe.”

18) 1 (Victoria), 6 (Blain), and 12 (Patricia) are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it? Victoria, because Blain is a survivor and doesn’t want to loose a kneecap, and Patricia would use the incident to guilt-trip Victoria later.

19) What might be a good pick-up line for 2 (Caesar) to use on 10 (Gwen)? “I bet you’re great with a pistol.”

20) What would 5 (Chetoni) most likely be arrested for? Beating the shit out of achild molester.

21) What is 6's (Blains) secret? He’s not really blonde! Le gasp!

22) If 11 (Morahgen) and 9 (Malntesso) were racing to a destination, who would get there first? Malntesso, because he’s butch, and Morahgen wouldn’t want to get “there,” because “there” probably has the plague. PLAUGE!!!

23) If you had to walk home through a bad neighbourhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 (Santuari) or 8 (Arnon)? Santuari, because she’s good with a sword, and Arnon is probably the reason why the neighborhood is bad in the first place!

24.) If 4 (Alasdair) gave 10 (Gwen) a birthday present, what would s/he be likely to give him/her? Sugar cookies!

Except, that is, for a story that's coming into full bloom, which brings me to: 2) My book, my dream, my boat, "The Sun Gods" is now blossoming into something very, very swank. I've developed the characters to the point where I don't write them, they write themselves, and no longer fall out of character. Their relationships are genuine, not penciled in. On a lighter note, studying for the SAT's is a blast! Only without the blast. lol. It will all be over Saturday, at least. In other news, I have learned that a bussel cannot fit into less than five pixels. Knowledge of this sort can only be gained through expirence.
I need creative help on a new character I'm developing. Here’s two paragraphs from somewhere in the second or third part of his story (told through the point of view another). I would really appreciate it if you would give me you opinions on this guy, without any other information on his personality. Do you like him? Hate him? Are you sorry for him? Why or why not? What are his personality flaws? I've never written a story about just one person, where the whole plot revolves souly around their personality, so all this is really very important, because I need to know I'm doing it right. THANK YOU!!!!

Introducing Levon "Lon" Daniels, circa 1964:
Lon seemed to crumple as he lay down on the couch, disappearing into his hulking back overcoat like a snake under a rock. His features relaxed, and his face took on that serene expression Brandy was so in love with. Ultimately, he was a very winning human being. In that moment, watching Lon snoring softly on his sister’s couch (which was a tragedy in and of itself, because unlike most starving musicians who stumbled home to their mother’s house after another long, unsuccessful run, Lon could never have that), I was ready to forgive all the little faults that were Lon Daniels. I forgave the white Russians, the food throwing, the credit hogging, and Brandy’s second and third black eye.
The cheeky, undeceived drunk who never dropped his tough man’s armor was quietly coming apart at the seams. Every day another crack appeared in his breastplate, and I thought it was such a good thing. I thought it meant he finally trusted me, that I was one of the few and the proud that would ever know Lon Daniels, but that was only a half-truth. Even as he dozed off on the couch, he never let his guard down. He appeared to be twitching with anticipation, as though he was going bolt upright at any moment and sound off a wry joke at someone’s expense. I was swallowed by the realization that Lon didn’t know how much he was showing me everyday. He thought I was still buying into his satirical little picture show, and couldn’t see his frayed edges.

THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE
--------------------------------
In this contest, you must create your own representation of the four horsemen, using either the biblical or traditional versions. It can be drawn or written, horrifying of hilarious. there will be a first second and third place, and the winners may pick their own prizzes, either written, pixel, or sketched.
Here are some links to sites with images and information of the four horsemen:
[link]
[link]
[link]
[link]
Here's an overview of the general information:
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse are mentioned in the Book of Revelation, which predicts that they will ride during the Apocalypse. The four horsemen are traditionally named War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death.
White Horse:
Opinions differ on whether the first horseman, riding the white horse (which often represents death in Bible), represents Christ, the Antichrist, or the False Prophet, but the general consensus of conservative Biblical scholars is that he is the Antichrist. Others say that he is simply Death himself, or the Grim Reaper. As the Antichrist, he carries a bow and a crown and is out to conquer, and as Death he has a sycthe and an hour glass.
Red Horse:
The rider of the second horse is generally held to represent War. The red color of his horse represents blood spilt on the battlefield. He carries a sword, which represents battle and fighting.
Black Horse:
The third horseman, riding the black horse, is popularly called Famine. The black color of the third horse could be a symbol of death and famine. Its rider was holding a scale, which means scarcity of food, higher prices, and famine, likely as a result of the wars from the second horseman. Food will be scarce, but luxuries such as wine and oil will still be readily available. He also stands for unfare trade. Sometimes he is also called pestilance.
Pale Horse:
The fourth horseman (on the pale, or sickly horse, which may be the source of the notion of "pestilence" as a separate horseman) is explicitly named Death in the Bible, but when Death and the Antichrist are combined, this horsman becomes Pestilance. The pale greenish color of the fourth horse means fear, sickness, decay, and death.
Here's the origional Biblical text:
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.
And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

I've revamped more than half of my big book. Part of it was painful (i.e., Gwen and Havoet's relationship has basicly disolved into thin air), some of it was old "Fanfic" news (i.e., Havoet being a little kid, Gwen and Blain having a near-thing, etc.), but for the most part, it's been very exciting. We get to meet Gwen when she was still a rock-tossin' toddler, Havoet's biological dad will actually get some political standing, Blain and Arnon's friendship has gained more depth (OMFG! NOT LIKE THAT, YOU PERVS!), and a whole lot of other stuff. Colleen, that note in your inbox is from me, as I have a few things I'd like to put to you and hear you oppinion. Anywhoodle, more "The Sun Gods Abridged" for you:

Muchas, Muchas Years Later—Late Winter
Some Dark Little Back Room in Garicon’s Palace of Flashy

GARICON: Garicon: I am the emperor of Bonishroaden! Here me roar! So, I’ve built this empire up from scratch complete with hospitals, civil rights and a might swingin’ disco, but for some unknown and probably very stupid reason, I have yet to wipe out the Host that killed my family and snatched my throne.

CHETONI DAWN FISHER: OMFG! You are so totally swank!

GARICON: But unfortunately my eldest son, Izakiah, is a master dunce and my other son, Etchelnox, is a royal nasty.

CHETONI: So when you die, the empire is doomed?

GARICON: All the way.

CHETONI: Too bad you didn’t have a noble, law-abiding, all-religions-races-and-creeds-tolerating, sick-person-healing, politically-correct, snappy dresser of a doctor/ sword-smith/ exorcist like me for a son.

GARICON: Yeah, that would be nice. Too bad you’re not interested in the throne and have blinded yourself to Izakiah’s shortcomings.

CHETONI: Mind if I attempt to convince you that Izakiah is capable of great things?

GARICON: Nice try.

CHETONI: No, really! He’s got a fund for children born with ingrown dunce caps and a foundation for the study of table lamps! I swear, that man is going far.

GARICON: I know. Ain’t it terrible? And Etchelnox wants to join the Host...or be their new leader...or become the new totalitarian dictator of Heaven and Earth...or something nasty like that.

CHETONI: Oh, how I loathe him.

GARICON: That makes two of us. Oh well. I’ll just marry Izakiah off to Melumaba’s daughter, Nboondra, and maybe she’ll be smart enough to keep this empire in one piece.

CHETONI: Because there’s no chance that Izakiah could possibly fall for someone else. Namely my physic sister, Sabelle?

GARICON: Not a chance.

Some Taj Mahal Rip-Off in the Hatsei Desert of Freaky Prophesy

SABELLE DAWN FISHER: I FORSEE A 18TH CENTURY HERSE, THAT THE AUTHORESS TOTALLY STOLE FROM SOME CHARLES DICKENS NOVEL, CROSSING THE BORDER INTO BONISHROADEN! This can only mean that the empire will fall into a sea off fire and brimstone if Nboondra should have ANY children. I must act!

Over in Ye Old Alberdaine

IZAKIAH RISING SKY: You know, I’ve always wanted to find myself, a beautiful physic princess to call my own.

Some Big Honkin’ Throne Room in Garicon’s Palace of Flashy

GARICON: I can’t believe Izakiah went off and eloped with Sabelle! What to do?

ETCHELNOX RISING SKY: You could always make me the next emperor.

GARICON: Over my dead body. You’d turn this empire in to the next Third Reich. No, I’ll just marry YOU off to Nboondra and see if that makes my fellow old coot, Melumaba, happy.

ETCHELNOX: So, I get my mortal enemy’s daughter for my wife and zero power from you?

GARICON: That’s right, Sonny.

ETCHELNOX: Oh, fuck that!

Some Taj Mahal Rip-Off in the Hatsei Desert of Freaky Prophesy

TINAHO DAWN FISHER: Now that my older sister, Sabelle, is the next empress, I get her old throne. Boo-yah! Who the new Duke of Talungara? That would be, um, ah, um, ME!!! Wadda ya say, little bro?

CHETONI: Great. Too bad you’re too katana-happy to get anything done for our clan.

TINAHO: Shut you’re noise, short stuff.

CHETONI: I’m taller than you.

TINAHO: Grrr!

CHETONI:...

Some Market in the Azponya Jungle of Crazy

HOSTIEN GUARD: I KEEL YOU!

MELUMABA: *bleed, gasp, die*

NBOONDRA: Daddy, NOOOOOOOO!!!

HOSTIEN GUARD: Oh, shit.

NBOONDRA: I KEEL YOU!!!

HOSTIEN GUARD: *promptly keels over*

[There is some rumbling of thunder and much kow-towing of Lion Clan peasants.]

NOT-GETTING-ANY-YOUNGER SHIRROBO: From now on, you shall be known as Santualful, The Red Duchess! *kow-tows*

SANTUALFUL: The Sandy Waffle?

I've started writing a joke summary script for my book, which I will be posting here in my journal. Anyone who reads it get's free autographed hardcover copy of the real novel (whenever it's published) which they will never have to read, because they'll already know the story. Sufficiantly bribed? Good. Now sit back and have a laugh on this rainy summer evening. Just the prolouge to start with.

The Sun Gods (Abridged)

Prologue
Some sandy pit in the Sweet Grass region of the disbanded Bonishroaden empire.
[Now would be a good time to start a drinking game. Take a shot of tequila every time you hear the word “empire.” Enjoy.]

GARICON RISING SKY: Hi, y’all! I’m in exile because my father was an arse of a tyrannical emperor so an even nastier religious order called the Host bumped him and the rest of my family off, and now I have to shovel horsy dung and dig trenches and such. Lucky for me I’m the overseer’s favorite slave, so I can get a coffee break whenever I damn well please. May I have a coffee break, Mister Overseer, Sir?

OVERSEER: Ten-four. Have a party. Here, let me get you some creamers. While you’re at it, why don’t you plot your escape and return to power with the mystery man who just appeared out of nowhere, but no one notices except you? Hell, I’ll even ignore you and distract the monks who I get my orders from in the process, so that you can have as much time as you fancy?

GARICON: Thanks, Bro. Just for that, I may spare your life when I come back here in a couple months and flatten this taco stand.

UNKNOWN-YOUNG-MAN-WHO-WE’LL-NEVER-SEE-AGAIN-BUT-IS-NECESSARY-FOR-THE-FIRST-TRIP-TO-EXPOSTION-AND-BACK-STORY-TOWN: Hey, Garicon! Guess what? Both your brothers were murdered by the Host years ago but the news had to go though channels so you haven’t found out yet!

GARICON: *is forlorn* I didn’t even know their names.

UNKNOWN-YOUNG-MAN: Boohoo. We’ve got bigger fish to fry. There’s this witch doctor name Shirrobo from the Lion Clan who wants to talk to you.

GARICON: Explain to me why I give a shit? I’m really not all that concerned about other people’s wants and needs right now. In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m, sorta-kinda IN EXILE!!!

UNKNOWN-YOUNG-MAN: Oh, I suppose you’re right. After all, this guy only has the Red Duke of the Lion Clan who goes by the name Melumaba Lions Blood at his beckon call as well as his army and doesn’t seam to have anything in mind except to get you out of this stinking place where you’ve been doing slave labor for the past nineteen years and put you back on the throne where you belong and get your empire back for you. I’ll just tell him to bugger-off then, shall I Sir?

GARICON:...When do I meet this guy?

Some dark basement-type place.
[Either Garicon is a pyromaniac, or he is constantly lighting matches so that he can see two feet in front of his face.]
MELUMABA LIONS BLOOD:*is very tall indeed*

SHIRROBO: *has a spiffy fez and talks a Rastafarian on crack*

GARICON: *lights match*

MELUMABA: *looms* So, the Host screwed my people over and are enslaving us by the dozen and it’s so your clan’s fault, because they kicked us off our land so they could have their little empire, and now we’re shit out of luck and I want some compensation, and I want it now.

GARICON: *lights match* Sorry! Wrong number! Garicon doesn’t live here anymore! I think he’s bankrupt! Went off to Tahiti, or something! *sings*
“Oh, south of the border,
down Mexico way—”

MELUMABA: *looms* I didn’t mean financially.

GARICON: *lights match* Oh. Okay then. *lights match*

SHIRROBO: I be summin’ up da rest ah da dialogue. You be wantin’ da t’rone. We be wantin’ da t’rone. What say da two ah you go be makin’ babies ahnd den we be draggin’ dem babies ta da altar so dey can be makin’ babies TA’GET’ER, ahnd den both ah you will be havin’ a descendant on da t’rone?

GARICON: *lights match* Nifty.

MELUMABA: And both of our clans and bloodlines will be united in our grandchild who will crush the Host, liberate my people, uphold your family honor, bring about happy endings, etc.

GARICON: And I should agree to this why?*lights match*

SHIRROBO: Because it be da right t’ing ta do?

MELUMABA: And I will personally go to any length, defeat all obstacles and kill anyone in my way in order to restore you to the throne?

GARICON: This is all going to go really smooth for a while and then *lights match* take a left hand turn into disaster, isn’t it?

SHIRROBO: Why else would dis novel be bein’ such ah cut-rate melodrama?

GARICON: Sweet! Count me in!

MELUMABA: *looms*

GARICON: *lights match*

To all the Misters who are climbin' their way to the top, when you get there, remember, the world is your oyster, not you toilet.

I just made that up. Sounds like something my relatives in the Polish Mafia would say.

Her are the lyrics to a song I'd forgotten until today. Very humorous.

I'm Unworthy

I'm unworthy, and no matter what I'm doing
I should certainly be doing something else
And it's selfish to be thinking I'm unworthy
All this me, me, me, me, self, self, self, self, self
If I'm talking on the phone I should be working on the lawn
Which looks disgraceful from the things I haven't done
If I'm working on the lawn I should be concentrating on
Those magazines inside, since I have not read one

I should learn how to meditate and sew and bake
And dance and paint and sail and make gazpacho
I should turn my attention to repairing
All those forty year old socks there in that bureau
I should let someone teach me to run Windows
And learn French that I can read and write and speak
I should get life in prison for how I treated my parents
From third grade until last week

I should spend more time playing with my dog
And much less money on this needless junk I buy
I should send correspondence back to everyone
Who's written, phoned or faxed since junior high
I should sit with a therapist until I understand
The way I felt back in my mom
I should quit smoking, drinking, eating, thinking
Sleeping, watching TV, writing stupid songs

I should be less impatient when the line just takes forever
'Cause the two cashiers are talking
I should see what it's like to get up really early rain or shine
And spend three hours walking
I should know CPR and deep massage and Braille
And sign language and how to change my oil
I should go where the situation's desperate
And build and paint and trudge and tote and toil

I should chant in impossible positions
Till my legs appear to not have any bones
I should rant at the cops and politicians
And the corporations-in indignant tones
I should save lots of money to leave Audubon
Plus all the rocks and animals and plants
I should brave possibilities for plotting plums of problems
Prob'ly blossomed, plausibly from
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah
I'm unworthy!

It like to see people I haven't seen in a while, but I can't get out of the house, and even if I could, where we go? There are no good movies in theaters (I'd like to see Prairie Home Companion, but the nearest theater showing it is in Vermont). Maybe we could just walk around a shoot the breeze. That could be fun. Any one up for that? I gotta work for the next four days, so there goes the est of the week. My evenings are free, but I still have to get up in the morning. I thought this was going to be the best summer ever, but so far it looks like shit. Oh well. Later, amigos.
Today at work, a co-worker asked how my book was going, and I had to tell him I hadn't gotten much done since the last time he asked. I realized just how much work I have to do. I'm setting aside round about an hour of each day to write and/or do something CONSTRUCTIVE for my book. I won't stop my dolling or my icons, or my pixel art, but there will certainly be less of it, I don't think I don't know you're all relieved. I know a lot of my friends would be happier in a world where they didn't have to read my work, and/or they just don't like to read, so I know this plea is most likely to prove in vain, but I NEED A BETA! For those who don't know, that's someone who reads an author's unpublished works consistantly and peer-edits it for them and gives other feed back. I need one. My father is conviced that everything I write is brilliant because I'm his daughter, and must therefore be perfect, and my mother is incapable of giving an obective opinion or critique. I NEED CRITIQUE! Please drop me a line if you feel up to reading a paragraph or two every month or so, since that's the current rate I'm turning this junk out at.Thank you!

Mouse Story

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his
wife open a package.

What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to
discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning. There is
a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse,
I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to
me. I cannot be bothered by it."

The mouse turned to the pig and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the
house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The pig sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there
is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers."

The mouse turned to the cow and said ! "There is a mousetrap in the
house! There is a mousetrap in the house!"

The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off
my nose."

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the
farmer's mousetrap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound
of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was
caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose
tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed
her to the hospital, and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer
took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient.

But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit
with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for
her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for
all of them.

The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great
sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it
doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at
risk.

We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out
for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

One of the best things to hold onto in this world is a friend.

Thank you all for your friendship
