...and I've only been on DA about four times. XD Sorry everyone. Without an internet connection at my host family's house, the precious little time that I do have on a computer is spent checking my mail and trying to keep in touch with people from home, both of which have turned out to be pretty unsuccessful.

Japan is wonderful, of course. After getting over various forms of culture shock and home sickness, I'm really starting to enjoy my time here. I'm looking forward to the next five months, although I'm not looking forward to finals a week from now.

Anyway, I just wanted to post something to let everyone know that I am indeed still alive, albeit inactive. There are about 150 deviations I've yet to look at, which I probably won't be able to get to until...May. Sorry if I back-comment on stuff you've done a long time ago. ^^

All right, off to get other things finished. Be safe everyone and have a great winter! <3

I'm going to Japan today everyone! I'll be gone until early May, and I have no idea if and when I'll ever be able to update or comment on DA, so don't expect much.

I just fixed my wireless problem with my laptop, so at least I'll be able to mooch off the local wireless connections. However, I'm not bringing a sketch book, and I'll probably be too busy or excited to do much of anything.

I know I said I'd try to get something up before I left, but life happened, as per usual. Twelve days is really inadequate time to visit everyone to say my good-byes.

Anyway, please be patient with me as always. Maybe I'll post some neat pictures or something soon (after I buy a new camera...in November).

Good luck everyone, stay safe, and have a great year!

So language school is officially over as of today. It's a good feeling to not have to worry about homework or kanji tests anymore, but it's been a rather teary day as my sensei's and classmates leave for home, some of whom I probably won't ever see again.

However, the good news is that I can now comment in English as freely as I want. The bad news is, I'll be heading home on the 16th, which means a return to dial-up and thus, much less activity. I'll try to get some sketches or something to put up before I head to Japan in September.

So anyway, it's great to be back to speaking English! Enjoy the last few weeks of summer everyone!

All right, so I haven't updated my journal in over a year. Go me!

I really shouldn't be typing in English, but I just wanted to explain a couple of things.

First off: I'm restricted to speaking nothing but Japanese until August 15, so if I post a comment or something and it's in Japanese, just take it to Babelfish or yell at me. Either is fine really.

Secondly: KIRIBAN! Wow, I've been here almost two years and I'm just now reaching my 1,000 pageview mark. XD Anyway, if you catch my 1,000th pageview, send me a link to the screenshot and I'll draw you whatever you want as long as it's not too perverted.

All right, rule breaking done. Back to Japanese.

Have a great summer everyone!!

<3

So, I finally bought a tablet on Sunday. I also went and bought a new sketch book, and rediscovered that I do in fact have a notebook with perforated pages that will be much easier to use when scanning.

Now everything is complete. I have all the things I need to get started on some hardcore stuff. Yeah! I'm pretty excited, but learning to use Photoshop is hard.

I deleted all the old deviations I put up here, because they were just crap from my old sketch book. I've gotten a lot better since then, honestly. I'm thinking of posting some fanart. I'll try to get started on that soon.

Well, wish me luck!

Whoa, Anime Boston.

Dude, Anime Boston!

I WENT TO ANIME BOSTON!

It was pretty sweet, guys, let me tell ya...

I had lots of fun. So much fun that I can't enumerate the experiences I had here. Met lots of people. Got lots of hugs. Took lots of pictures. Got a pretty neat photoshoot done. Saw SO many great cosplayers. I can't wait to go next year. X3

Actually, next on the agenda is PortCon in June, then hopefully Otacon in Maryland in August. I love my people up in Maine, but Otacon has been known to get a crowd of 20,000 and more! That's twice the size of Anime Boston! Think of all the hugs...

Oh yeah, and STEVE BLUM WILL BE AT OTACON!! *squee* So happy. I'm so excited.

Oh, and to see my cosplay, plus my friends' cosplay, plus other pictues we took at Anime Boston, you can visit my brand spankin' new photobucket account here: [link]

Go! Be happy!

So, I managed to finally buy a USB cable and a flash drive. Only problem is, the flash drive is incompatible with Windows 98, or my computer is just being stupid. So I've got a lot of my sketchbook scanned onto my laptop, but I've no way to get it to my PC, which has the internet connection. I'm not going to bother with it too much, since I'll be going to college at the end of the week and I should be able to upload everything there. From the way things look, I should have over 50 sketches to display. I might delve into my old sketchbook, but there aren't a lot of good pics in there. Oh well, we'll see.

Still hoping to buy a tablet soon and download photoshop. I'm told I could buy it through my school for a lot less than at a store. Hmm...
