'Course, I don't expect everybody to do this if they don't want to, but I think it'd be fun to see how obscure or interesting we could get with whatever lines we come across. If you like, you could post them here- with or without the title of the book, either way is good.

Has anybody else ever listened or heard of the Beatles Anthology Discs? They're fairly recently-discovered old takes of certain Beatles songs put onto CDs. I think it's really fascinating to hear these famous, set-in-stone songs that will and have gone down in history, still in the making. It's even better when you realize that all of these songs came together by a couple of guys basically goofing off and screwing around. There's one take of "And Your Bird Can Sing" where they're just singing off-key and giggling like schoolkids. You gotta love it.
Like the phrase "bastard". Means "Somebody who was born unto parents unmarried." I'm paraphrasing, here.

So doesn't that mean... that every male animal alive (if you're not counting the ones born to animals married by their obsessed owners in the backyard), is a bastard?

Ehhh, I'm bored and it's late and I thought I'd update my journal. Yes, I'm still alive out here. I'm constantly surfing this place, it is SO addictive.

Anyway. What prezzies didja get this year? I got tons, if you care at all about that (not a shot at anybody, it's just that my presents probably wouldn't really interest you, really). Well, not tons, but that's how they measure.

I got an MP3 player type thingy that I can even watch decent movies on and put, like, tons of CDs on. It's just so remarkable that I can't even think about it. <- *I use this smiley way too much. I need to learn about more or something* I mean, it's just amazing. Also I heart "Almost Famous" majorly. But more on that never.

I feel like I'm speaking/typing in tongues right now! Bleh! Anyway, I also got the new My Chemical Romance CD (which in my good ol' opinion really rocks- I love their Black Parade song SO much it's scary. Kind of. Yeah. Scary. lol), which is even better than their last if you ask me (okay, so the lead singer got a strange new haircut and look to him and a couple of their songs sound a tad more poppy. Big whoop. They haven't changed that much save for those minor details, people need to suck it up and stop whining about it already. Jeesh.). Their first couple tracks rule, too.

I also got the new Damien Rice CD- dude, I love this sensitive poet guy! His stuff is so emotional and intense, but in an oddly subtle way. Like, we don't KNOW what his songs're about, but they seem so sad and poingant and personal anyway that you just have to feel it and maybe cry...

I also got a Weakerthans CD which I know I'll love- I've only read the inside of the pamphlet and they've quoted some amazing people with amazing things to say and their lyrics look sweet, I need to listen to that album! Why aren't they as popular here in the states as they are in Canada, huh? Oh, well.

Oh, and we also got chocolate. A big, tastee hunk of dark chocolate. Good, goooooood stuff, that. Oh, and also, orange rolls! Which we only have every so often because the dough takes forever to rise, and they're a tad tempramental (sp??), but DAMN, do they taste GOOD! They're so deliciously evil. Dude, I love that phrase. <- *More extreme overusage of that smiley! I am so deliciously evil!!!!*
We have a medium-sized kitchen that all of us live in half of the time, lol. It's filled with our sixteen pets- yes, sixteen of 'em, they're all pretty small though at least- so it's actually fairly crowded at times. We cook quite a bit... the table is never really for eating because it's usually covered with mail, my mom's endless supply of papers that she has to sort through, comic books, library books, ect., ect., ect. At any rate, if I ever do get a little less lazy and move some of my stuff off of there, it's hard to sit down with any meal or even snack without somebody begging for something. The little beggar is usually Felix, our Blue-fronted Amazon parrot, who eats pretty much anything us people eat 'cept for chocolate. Never chocolate.

Anyway, he'll probably want to have a bite or more of what I'm having; if it's veggies or veggie-related then the guinea pigs will start squealing as if we didn't already overfeed them.... somebody will be wanting me to share. So at any rate, meals are not as peaceful at the table. We usually take our food to other room in the house.

Have you ever listened to the radio late at night? Rather unlike its follower, the great television, which in the early hours of the morning tends to show you all that dribble you really would not have chosen to watch but hey, it's on- you know the like, infomercials, starving children of Africa guilt funds, old black-and-white Disney films you've never heard of before.... The works.

However, if you've ever been plagued by the horrible fate that is often insomnia, and you were curious as to what exactly the deejays (is it deejay or DJ?) were doing at that bleak hour of three in the mo', you might have switched on a radio, anyway. Am I the only one who has found latenight radio actually quite liberating? Gone are a good percentage of petty car commercials and the like, along with a great deal of mindless chatter about kids and what they're growing up to be these days, annoying clips, # 1 songs that have become # 1 annoyances after being played one too many times in an hour.... No, you'll be hearing the rare stuff that nobody thinks anybody in their right mind would stay up or even GET up to listen to. But ya did, and you discovered some pretty original stuff. Seriously, man, you get more music that way, less commercials and things. It's bootifull.

Okay- that's my ever-so-insightful rant for the night. Bah-bye, now.

Just so yaz know, just because I haven't updated my journal for a while doesn't mean I've been absent that long from DA. I mean, I'd feel lost without this website, I'm quite addicted. So yeah, I'm still wanderin' a-plenty, these artistic hallowed halls...

I just can't think of anything specific to write about most of the time, anyway. Not off the top of my head, at least. So yeah, there's my journal story. Hope yaz liked it.

Should I stop saying 'yaz'? I'm mixed on it, to be honest. 'Ya' has it's own cute charm and doesn't sound quite as grammatically awkward... maybe I should stick with saying that instead. Whatever!

Where you discover a user who has some really great artwork, but you aren't familiar with ANY of the stuff they're basing their work on? It's so annoying when that happens to me.
